The morning started with absolute chaos.
Yn had barely stepped out of her room when she heard her mother announce, “We’re going shopping for the wedding dress today!”
Yn froze mid-step. “Wait, what?”
Her father, sipping his tea, nodded. “Your mother and Taehyung’s mother planned everything. We’re all going together.”
Yn’s jaw dropped. “All of us?”
“Of course,” her mom said, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. “It’s an important day! The bride and groom must be present.”
Yn groaned. She wasn’t in the mood to pick out a dress for a wedding she hadn’t even wanted in the first place. But arguing was pointless. When her mother made a decision, it was final.
She sighed. “Fine. Let’s get this over with.”
—
Everything was going smoothly—until it was time to leave.
The family gathered outside, deciding on who would go in which car. That’s when Yn realized something horrifying.
There was no space for her.
Yuna and Lisa had already secured their seats in her parents’ car. Taehyung’s parents were going with some other relatives. And that left… Taehyung’s car.
Yn’s eyes widened. “No way.”
Her mother smiled sweetly. “Yn, darling, you’ll go with Taehyung.”
“Mom, I can just take a cab.”
Her father scoffed. “Why waste money when your fiancé has a perfectly good car?”
Yn turned to Taehyung, hoping he’d protest. But, of course, he just stood there, looking completely uninterested.
“I don’t mind,” he said casually.
Yn gaped at him. “You don’t mind?!”
Taehyung shrugged. “I don’t.”
Yn looked around desperately, but everyone was already getting into their cars, leaving her no choice.
Lisa, rolling down the car window, smirked. “Have fun, lovebirds.”
Yn shot her a glare before reluctantly getting into Taehyung’s car.
—
As soon as she got in, she sighed dramatically. “Just so you know, I’m not happy about this.”
Taehyung didn’t even glance at her. “Noted.”
She crossed her arms. “You could have at least argued against it.”
“Why would I? I don’t care who I drive.”
Yn huffed. “You’re so cold-hearted.”
Taehyung raised an eyebrow. “And yet, you keep texting me at midnight.”
Yn gasped. “You didn’t even reply properly!”
“Because I was trying to sleep.”
Yn scoffed. “Wow. So, you admit that I was the last thing on your mind before you slept?”
Taehyung sighed. “I admit that you were annoying before I slept.”
Yn grinned. “Still counts.”
Taehyung gave her a look but said nothing.
The ride continued in silence for a few minutes before Yn, getting bored, started pressing random buttons on the car’s dashboard.
Taehyung grabbed her hand. “Stop touching things.”
Yn smirked. “Why? What’s this button do?”
“It ejects annoying passengers.”
Yn laughed. “That’s a lie.”
“Want to test it?”
She quickly pulled her hand back. “Fine, fine.”
Taehyung shook his head. “You’re worse than a child.”
Yn leaned back. “And you’re worse than an old man.”
“Good.”
“No, it’s not good. It means you’re boring.”
“Boring people don’t get harassed by their fiancées at midnight.”
Yn rolled her eyes. “You still can’t let that go?”
Taehyung didn’t respond, but she swore she saw a hint of amusement in his eyes.
—
Finally There
By the time they reached the bridal boutique, Yn felt victorious.
She had successfully annoyed him and made him react more than usual.
Lisa and Yuna were waiting outside, smirking as they saw her step out of Taehyung’s car.
Lisa whispered, “How was the romantic ride?”
Yn smirked back. “Oh, it was lovely. He was mesmerized by my presence.”
Lisa laughed, while Yuna raised an eyebrow at Taehyung. “And? How was the ride for you, dear future brother-in-law?”
Taehyung sighed. “A headache.”
Yn clutched her chest. “So cruel.”
Yuna and Lisa exchanged knowing looks. “This is going to be fun.”
Yn groaned. The day had just begun, and she already knew her best friend and sister wouldn’t let her live this down.
And the worst part?
She didn’t completely hate spending time with Taehyung.
As soon as Yn stepped into the boutique, she knew this was going to be chaos.
The walls were lined with elegant white gowns, shimmering under the bright lights. Racks of dresses stood in neat rows, each one seemingly more expensive than the last. The staff greeted them warmly, leading them toward the bridal selection.
And that’s when the real problem started.
Yn’s mother clapped her hands excitedly. “Alright! Let’s pick the perfect dress for our beautiful bride!”
Yn sighed. “Can’t I just pick something simple and leave?”
Lisa, who was already flipping through the dresses, gasped dramatically. “Excuse me? This is the most important dress of your life! You can’t just pick anything.”
Yuna nodded. “Yeah, you need something breathtaking.”
Yn groaned. “I just want something comfortable.”
Lisa and Yuna ignored her completely and started pulling out dresses, one after another.
“How about this one?” Lisa held up a gown covered in heavy embroidery.
Yn wrinkled her nose. “That looks like it weighs more than me.”
Yuna held up another one. “This one has a long train! It’ll make you look royal.”
Yn narrowed her eyes. “That train is longer than my life expectancy.”
Her mother, of course, had her own opinions. She picked up a dress that sparkled so much it nearly blinded everyone. “This one is stunning! Look at how it shines!”
Yn squinted. “I think I just lost vision in one eye.”
Lisa laughed. “You’re so dramatic.”
As the family continued arguing over which dress suited her best, Taehyung stood near the entrance, arms crossed, looking utterly bored.
It had been barely ten minutes, and he already wanted to leave.
—
The dress selection should have been simple. Try on a few, pick one, go home.
But of course, things didn’t work that way when you had a dramatic family.
After an hour of endless debates, Lisa suddenly turned toward Taehyung. “You know what? Let’s ask the groom.”
Yn’s eyes widened. “No! We’re not asking him.”
Lisa smirked. “Oh, but we are.”
Yuna clapped her hands. “Yes! Since he’s the one marrying you, he should have a say in what you wear.”
Taehyung, who had been minding his own business, blinked. “…What?”
Yn shot Lisa a glare. “Don’t you dare.”
Lisa grinned wickedly. “Too late. Taehyung, which dress do you think suits Yn best?”
Taehyung sighed. “I don’t care.”
Yn smirked. “See? He doesn’t care. Let’s move on.”
But their mothers had already joined in. “Taehyung, dear, just pick one,” his mother encouraged.
Taehyung pinched the bridge of his nose. “Why do I have to choose?”
Yn’s mom smiled sweetly. “Because we trust your judgment.”
Taehyung scoffed. “That’s a terrible idea.”
Lisa grabbed three dresses and held them up. “Okay, Taehyung. Pick one. This one,” she pointed to a lacy princess-style gown, “or this one,” she held up a sleek, modern gown, “or this one,” a heavily beaded traditional dress.
Taehyung stared at them blankly.
Yn crossed her arms. “Go ahead, genius. Pick one.”
Taehyung looked at the dresses. Then at Yn. Then back at the dresses.
He had no idea what he was looking at.
They all looked the same to him.
He sighed. “This is stupid.”
Lisa gasped. “It’s not stupid! It’s a crucial decision!”
Yn smirked. “Scared, Mr. CEO?”
Taehyung rolled his eyes. “Fine. That one.” He pointed at the simplest gown.
Lisa and Yuna immediately gasped in horror.
“No taste. Absolutely no taste.” Lisa shook her head.
Yuna sighed dramatically. “And to think, we trusted you.”
Taehyung scowled. “You forced me to pick.”
Yn grinned. “I agree with them. Terrible choice.”
Taehyung groaned. “Then why did you ask me?”
Lisa placed a hand on his shoulder. “For entertainment purposes.”
—
Since Taehyung had suffered, Yn decided it was only fair to increase his suffering.
She turned to the boutique assistant. “I want to try on all three dresses.”
Taehyung’s jaw dropped. “All three?!”
Yn grinned. “Yes.”
Lisa giggled. “Good idea! Let’s make him judge each one properly.”
Taehyung groaned. “Kill me.”
Yn smirked. “Not before the wedding, dear fiancé.”
And with that, she disappeared into the fitting room.
—
After trying on the first two, and listening to the endless commentary from her family, Yn stepped out in the last dress—a beautiful, elegant gown that somehow felt right.
For the first time, everyone went quiet.
Even Taehyung, who had been rolling his eyes all day, just stared.
Lisa and Yuna exchanged glances before grinning.
Yn’s mother clasped her hands together. “You look beautiful, sweetheart.”
Yn looked in the mirror. For once, she actually felt like a bride.
She turned to Taehyung. “Well? Do I pass your boring test now?”
Taehyung blinked, then looked away. “…It’s fine.”
Lisa gasped. “Fine?!”
Yuna smirked. “Oh, he’s shy.”
Taehyung scowled. “Shut up.”
Yn grinned. Maybe this wedding wouldn’t be so bad after all.
After finalizing her wedding dress, Yn sighed in relief and stepped back into the fitting room. She carefully removed the dress, making sure not to damage the delicate fabric. The moment she was back in her regular clothes, she realized a big problem—she couldn’t zip up her dress by herself.
“Ugh, Yuna!” she muttered, pulling out her phone and dialing her sister’s number.
No answer.
She frowned and tried again.
Still nothing.
“Where the hell did she go?” she grumbled.
Her only option now was Lisa, but just as she was about to call her, she heard Lisa’s loud laughter from outside, clearly in deep conversation with Yn’s mother. No way she’s leaving that gossip session anytime soon.
That left her with… him.
Yn groaned internally. “Nope. Not happening.”
But after struggling for a few minutes with the zipper and failing miserably, she had no choice. Swallowing her pride, she pulled out her phone and hesitated before finally calling him.
—
Taehyung had been minding his own business, sitting in the boutique’s waiting area, scrolling through his phone, when his screen suddenly lit up with an incoming call.
From her.
His brows furrowed. “Why is she calling me?”
Curious but slightly annoyed, he answered. “What do you want?”
Yn sighed on the other end. “Look, I need help.”
He smirked. “Already? Didn’t take long for you to need me, huh?”
Yn rolled her eyes. “Don’t flatter yourself. I just… need help zipping up my dress.”
Taehyung froze. “…What?”
“You heard me.”
He blinked, his mind immediately short-circuiting. “Why the hell are you asking me?!”
Yn groaned. “Because Yuna is missing, Lisa is busy gossiping, and I can’t reach the zipper!”
Taehyung looked around, as if hoping someone else could take his place. “Can’t you just— I don’t know, try harder?”
Yn scoffed. “Oh yeah, let me just grow an extra pair of hands! Genius.”
He sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. “Fine. Where are you?”
“Fitting room number three.”
Muttering curses under his breath, Taehyung got up and made his way to the fitting rooms.
—
When Taehyung stepped inside the fitting room, his breath hitched.
Yn stood in front of the mirror with her back facing him, her dress loosely hanging on her shoulders. The zipper was stuck halfway down, revealing the smooth skin of her back.
He definitely wasn’t prepared for this.
His throat went dry as he awkwardly cleared it. “Uh… you sure you need my help?”
Yn huffed. “Unless you want me to walk out like this, yes.”
Taehyung let out a shaky breath. “Fine. Stay still.”
He reached for the zipper, his fingers barely brushing against her skin. Yn shivered slightly at the contact, and he immediately pulled his hand back.
“Did you just shiver?” he smirked.
Yn glared at him through the mirror. “Shut up and zip me up.”
Taehyung tried again, but the zipper refused to budge.
“It’s stuck,” he muttered.
Yn sighed. “Great. Just my luck.”
She tried adjusting the fabric herself, and in the process, the dress slipped even lower, exposing more of her bare back.
Taehyung gulped.
This was dangerous territory.
His eyes darted to the ceiling, to the walls—anywhere but her skin. “Can you stop moving?”
“Then zip faster!” she shot back.
He exhaled sharply and tried again, gripping the zipper tightly. Just as he thought he had it under control—
The unthinkable happened.
—
Without warning, the zipper gave way, and in one swift motion—
The dress slid off completely.
Yn’s eyes widened as the fabric pooled at her waist, leaving her completely bare from the top.
For a full second, neither of them moved.
Silence.
Absolute. Deadly. Silence.
Taehyung’s brain shut down. His face turned scarlet as he instinctively looked away, his hands flying to cover his own eyes as if that would erase what just happened.
Yn, on the other hand, stood frozen in horror.
And then—
“AAAAAAAAHHH!”
Her scream nearly shook the entire boutique.
Taehyung, panicking, turned around so fast he nearly slammed into the wall. “I DIDN’T SEE ANYTHING! I SWEAR!”
Yn quickly grabbed the dress and held it against her chest. “YOU TOTALLY SAW!”
Taehyung, now redder than a tomato, kept his back turned. “I—I DIDN’T MEAN TO—IT WAS AN ACCIDENT—”
Yn glared at his reflection in the mirror. “YOU WERE STARING!”
“I WAS NOT!”
“YOU SO WERE!”
Taehyung covered his ears. “LALALA—NOT LISTENING—LALALA—”
Yn groaned, trying to quickly fix the dress. “THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!”
“HOW IS THIS MY FAULT?!”
“YOU TOUCHED THE ZIPPER LAST!”
“YOU ASKED ME TO HELP!”
They both stopped shouting, panting slightly from the sheer embarrassment.
After a long pause, Yn took a deep breath and spoke through gritted teeth. “Get. Out.”
Taehyung didn’t need to be told twice.
He bolted out of the fitting room like his life depended on it, slamming the door shut behind him.
—
Taehyung stormed back into the waiting area, still visibly flustered.
Lisa and Yuna immediately noticed.
Lisa smirked. “Why do you look like you’ve seen a ghost?”
Yuna gasped. “Wait. Did something happen?”
Taehyung clenched his jaw. “I don’t want to talk about it.”
Lisa raised an eyebrow. “Ohhh, now we definitely want to know.”
Before Taehyung could escape, Yn walked out of the fitting room—face still flushed, looking beyond embarrassed.
Yuna immediately caught on. “OH MY GOD, DID HE SEE SOMETHING HE SHOULDN’T HAVE?!”
Lisa’s jaw dropped before she burst into laughter. “NO WAY! DID HE—”
Yn cut them off. “One more word and I will strangle you.”
Lisa wiped away fake tears. “This is the best day of my life.”
Yn groaned. Taehyung looked like he wanted the ground to swallow him whole.
They both avoided eye contact for the rest of the shopping trip.
And just like that—an already awkward engagement had just become so much worse.
