~Chapter 17~

"It was my fault to make Jeremy so mad. I didn't mean to burst at him. It's just when he said the 'm' word, I got pissed."

"The 'm' word?"

"Muhthar." Jenny pronounced the seemingly easy word full of difficulty.

"You mean mother?" Odd raised his eyebrow.

"Yes."

Odd looked at her weird, what's wrong with the word "mother"?

"I-i don't have a mother. I was raised by my "dad" and sometimes my "aunt", guess you can call them my step parents?"

Odd's hands moved towards Jenny's that were on her lap. He held it tightly, warming her cold hands with the heat that he had.

"I'm sorry, I didn't know... Jeremy didn't know, I apologise on his behalf."

"No, no. It was my fault. I overreacted. It's like you said, he didn't know. It's just... I found out that I might have a sibling here or a relative, that's why I came, wanting to find out more about my mother-my family."

Odd looked into Jenny's tearing eyes. A tear drop rolled down her soft pink cheek.

"It's just. Every time I try to do something, I always mess up. I blow up for no reason, I piss everyone off and I'm a horrible person really. Maybe that's why my parents abandoned me." Jenny started to cry, her tears pouring down like the heavy rain.

Odd moved on of his hand to Jenny's shoulder and slowly stroked her arm.

"I was never loved. My step parents said my parents abandoned me because I was a hindrance in her life. I caused many issues for my family and that's why they left me. The friends I had back at school only wanted me around because I was "pretty" and they were never around me when I broke down." She cried even harder, that made Odd hug her.

She buried her face into his chest, her tears rolling down profusely.

"They-"

Odd shushed her and whispered into her ear, "It's different here. No one will leave you, i'm here and I always will be. I'll help you find your relative, I bet the gang will. Einstein will help too."

Jenny rubbed her tears and looked at Odd with a sad puppy face, "Really? Jeremy...will? Everyone will? After what I did?"

"You just need to tell them. Besides, we're your friends now. You've helped us, let us help you too."

Jenny looked at Odd's smile, she had a thought, a small teensy weenie thought to just kiss Odd at that moment.

So she did.

She kissed on his cheek if you were wondering but that was enough to make Odd's heart go wild.

"Thank you." She whispered softly.

"Jenny, i'm sorry too. I didn't mean to be so harsh on you before. It's just that I was stressed on Aelita and her sister and everyone's safety because XANA's alive, I forgot to think." Jeremy apologised.

Jenny shook her head, "No, I should be the one. You didn't know about my mom and-"

"Okay, okay! You two are sorry, done!" Yumi cut in.

Both Jenny and Jeremy smiled at each other and hugged it out.

"Now, we're all friends." Ulrich said leaning against the wall.

Everyone cheered, some hi-fives passed around and hugs were exchanged, everything was good and merry.

"Okay, back to your family thing. You want to find your parents?" Jeremy asked, leaning against his chair.

Jenny nodded.

"Hm... Do you remember how they look like? Anything?" Jeremy asked, pushing his glasses up.

"No... I know my father wears glasses like you! My mother... nothing. She frowned.

Yumi patted her back, "You'll remember soon, it's okay."

"I think... the woman I saw the other day is linked to my mother. I need to find her."

"But Jenny, no offense, no one was in Lyoko. We were all near the computer, there was no way someone was virtualised without the four of us knowing." Jeremy explained, crossing his arms.

Jenny wanted to argue, but stopped immediately.

"Maybe... we should check it out? I mean, Jenny seem to have a connection with Lyoko." Odd helped Jenny.

Jeremy frowned his eyebrows, trying to think.

"Jenny has helped out a lot. Without her strange connection with Lyoko, we wouldn't even be here today." Ulrich spoke out.

"I hate going back to Lyoko but I think maybe if she's connected to Lyoko somehow and due to that connection, maybe Lyoko's trying to show her something." Yumi did a wild assumption.

Odd and Ulrich nodded along with Yumi, all clearly supporting Jenny.

Jeremy groaned and said, "Let's go back to Lyoko tomorrow. We should rest, it has been a long day for all of us. Besides, I need to go find Aelita."

"Okay, see ya!" Yumi waved goodbye and Ulrich went after.

Odd left soon after and Jenny stayed behind.

"I want to see Aelita too. I won't take too long don't worry, wouldn't want to interrupt your lovey-dovey time with each other." Jenny teased and left the room with blushing Jeremy running behind her.

Hahaha and now everyone knows of Jenny's past. She linked to Lyoko, is it true that Lyoko's trying to help Jenny? Will the gang ever find Jenny's family? I don't know! We'll see in the next chapter! 😁😁😁
