SONG CUE IN CHAPTER
Last night I packed away the things Zack had given me that I had with me. Everything else would be returned later. I woke up with the box sitting on the end of the bed.
I laid in bed scrolling through my pictures on my phone. Zach and I were so in love when we first met. It's crazy that one person changed everything.
I got up from my bed and headed downstairs when I heard the doorbell ring. Zach walked in while I came down.
"Hi." I looked at him. He looked like he'd gone through hell.
"Hey." Zach starred at me.
"Wanna talk outside?" I offered walking to the front door.
"Sure." He nodded. My mom watched as we walked out.
We sat on the stairs side by side. "Why didn't you just tell me?" Zach sighed.
I didn't know what to say. I was frozen. "I...I don't know. I know I should of and I'm sorry for not telling you but I thought maybe I could save you the pain and just hide it."
"Did you ever hook up with anyone else while we were together?" His past tense of 'were' made it known we were done for good, which was obvious that it needed to be done.
"No. Just him. It's not that I didn't want to with you but it was almost like you assumed it was okay because we're together. You would never ask me before trying to take my pants off or anything." My skin had goosebumps from talking about Rafe and I's intimate connection.
"I-I didn't assume. I read your body language." Zach's failure to realize I was uncomfortable with any intimate situation made me frustrated because he didn't understand what I was trying to say.
While we sat in silence Rafe pulled into the driveway in his truck.
"Already moving on?" Zach laughed.
"He's here for Top." I rolled my eyes at Zach's comment.
Rafe's truck locked while he walked up the driveway with his hands in his pockets. He nodded looking at me and glanced at Zach.
Zach stood up and placed a hand on Rafe's chest causing Rafe to come to a halt. "Just know, she's a lot to handle."
I stood up crossing my arms over my chest. "I'm really not. Top's inside Rafe." I pushed Zachs arm down from Rafe's chest and he walked inside the house. "You seriously just need to give it a rest. We're done. Over. You can move on."
"That's easy for you to say when you moved on during our relationship." Zach glared.
"Okay whatever. I was wrong Zach and I'm sorry okay? Is that what you want? There's nothing I can do to take it back." I talked a lot with my hands so they were all over the place. "I have a box of stuff you've given me if you want it."
"Sure." He sighed. We stood up and headed inside quietly.
Rafe and Topper were in Tops room as we walked by. Rafe winked at me when I looked in the room. I couldn't help but laugh and shake my head.
Zach looked through the box of the belongings I had which consisted of a necklace, hoodie, a journal I wrote it about us, and a bracelet with our picture on it.
Zach picked up the box. "I still can't believe you're throwing everything away because of some guy on an island that you'll only see in the summer."
"I'm not even gonna say anything more." I laughed. "It just wasn't meant to be for us."
Zach shook his head and carried the box back downstairs with us. I followed him to thr front door where his uber waited outside in the driveway. "I loved you Ken. I planned my life around you and for you. I don't want you to come back someday and tell me you still want me. So speak now or lose me forever."
I looked down and sighed. "I-I guess i'll lose you forever. I'm sorry."
Zach shook his head and walked away with his bags and box of things. I felt bad but Rafe was what I wanted.
His uber drove off and I walked back inside. Rafe walked down alone.
"You're leaving?" I asked as I shut the door behind me.
"Yeah. I um I got stuff to do." Rafe scratched the back of his neck.
"Stuff to do or someone to go buy from?" I raised my eyebrows at him.
"I need it alright? Could you stop being so judgy?" Rafe crossed his arms.
"Can I come?" I mimicked Rafe and crossed my own arms smirking.
"No. No, Barry isn't a good guy." Rafe declined.
I shook my head. "I don't care. I'm going."
I grabbed his keys from his hand and opened the door to walk out to his truck. Rafe grabbed my wrist and spun me around. His body pushed mine against the door carefully. "You don't listen do you?"
I bit my lip looking up into his eyes. "Nope." I had butterflies all over my body. It didn't matter how many times I've kissed him or been around him, he makes me nervous all the time.
"Fine. Let's go." Rafe snatched his keys and followed me out of the door.
Rafe and drove up to the trailer. It was so janky and run down. It just gave off drug addict vibes.
I stood still as I got out of the truck waiting for Rafe. He came around to my side and checked on me.
"You okay?" He asked.
"Yeah." I took a deep breath and exhaled to shake off my nerves.
"You know you're the one who wanted to come right?" Rafe asked.
"I-I know." I looked at Rafe who was highly amused at my fear. It's not that I was afraid of being at the drug house, but I was more afraid of going back to my old ways.
Rafe walked in front of me leading the way up to the wooden porch. There were nothing but addicts around me.
"Country club!" Barry smirked at Rafe.
"What up man." Rafe nodded at him plopping down on the beaten up couch. I eyed Barry and sat down beside Rafe.
"Welcome to my mansion Country clubs sugar momma." Barry laughed.
I roller my eyes at him crossing my arms over my chest. "Well at least I can actually afford a mansion." I smirked.

Barrys smirk fell. "Is it true what they say about you?"
"And what would that be?" My head shook.
"That you're a slut." Barry so easily let the words slip from his mouth.
Rafe tensed up. "Um what?" Rafe stood up walking towards Barry. "Easy country club. I was just asking a question."
"Watch your fucking mouth man!" Rafe raised his voice.
"I'm not a slut. I just know what I want." I shrugged. Rafe's head turned quickly and smirked.
