Scooter? Scooter? Oh, god! A lady starts crying. "Who's that?" John B asks. "It's Scooter Grubs. He was out during the storm." This random girl says. "Check out this pic I got. Dead body." She continues while showing us the photo.

"What kind of boat did he have?" JJ asks the girl. "Somehow that dirt bag copped a brand new Grady white." She replies. "Everyone's out looking for it." She continues.

I saw John B look at JJ, then they turned to look at scooter.

Later

"Okay. So, um...we didn't see anything, we don't know anything." Pope says while panting. "We need to have total and complete amnesia." Pope continues.

"Actually, Pope's right for once." JJ says. "See, I agree with you sometimes deny,deny,deny." JJ continues.

"What the hell are you guys talking about?" I say dumbfounded.

"Guys we can't keep that money." Kiara speaks. "Okay. Not all of us can afford unlimited data plans Kiara." JJ spat back.

"We have to pass that off to Lana Grubbs. Otherwise it's bad karma." Kiara says.

"She's right I don't wanna get haunted by Scooter Grubbs ghost." I add.

"It's bad karma to be implicated in a felony, too. We gotta go dark" Pope also adds.

"If that means we get to keep the money, then I agree." JJ says. "I don't agree." John B says. "Why?" JJ asks him

"Just think about it, this is Scooter Grubbs we're talking about. Same dude that's buying individual cigarettes at the Porthole. Shit, one time I saw this dude begging for change in the Save-A-Lot parking lot because he needed gas, We're talking about a dirtbag marina rat who's never had more than 40 bucks in his pocket, and all of the sudden, he's got a Grady-White? Just sayin'." John B speaks.

"Hey I didn't wanna wreck your flow but uh, what's a marina rat?" I ask. "Alright so think about it Pope, how does a marina rat get a Grady white?" John B asks Pope completely ignoring my question. "Prostitution." Pope says confidently.

"Square groupers bro." John B says correcting Pope. "Okay flying under the radar, no area surveillance they don't do that stuff during a hurricane." John B continues. "So what does that mean JJ?" John B asks JJ.

"They were straight smugglin'." JJ replies. "Smugglin'. And I guarantee there's a serious amount of contraband in that wreck." John B says confidently.

"Wow I can't believe it, John B is actually right." I say in disbelief.

"For the record if that is a smuggling ship, with illegal contraband on the inside of it...it probs belongs to someone else."Pope says. "Minor details." Kie adds. "They could come looking for it, taking it would be, catastrophically stupid." Pope speaks.

"Right well, stupid things have good outcomes all the time." JJ says while flexing off the money.

"Not all the time JJ, you guys we have to be smart about this." I say worriedly. "Listen, all we need to do right now is figure out a way to get into the cargo hold of that wreck. Until then we just, lay low, just act normal." JJ says while looking at me."

"Right and how exactly do we do that?" Pope asks. "Kegger?" Kie suggests. "Hell yeah." I say with a smile on my face.

Later

"Tally ho." John B says while holding a cooler full of drinks."

"Can I get on your back?" I ask JJ. "How come you never ask John B, or Pope." He asks. "Because you're my favorite. Pleaseeee." I say while looking up at him. "Fine." He says with a sigh.

I get on his back and he starts walking to our spot on the boneyard. John B is giving out beers to Kooks, Tourons, and other Pogues. We're just drinking and having a good time. I mean that was our mission for the summer.

"What is she doing here?" Kie says pissed of while looking at Sarah standing on top of a tiny tower or whatever it was. "It's a public beach Kie, we couldn't stop her even if we wanted to." I reply.

Me, Sarah and Kie used to be a really tight trio in 9th grade Me and Sarah were a bit closer than her and Kie though, but we fell out before tenth grade. Me and Kie both have different reasons why we aren't friends with her anymore but no one really knows my reason.

"Hey Sarah! Sarah can I interest you in a tasty Milwaukee beverage?" JJ asks Sarah. "No, thanks." Sarah replies back.

"Come on, is it not fancy enough for you?" JJ asks Sarah. "No. We were just leaving." Sarah replies. "Hey, you know what? I'll take it. I'll—Thank you, man. I appreciate it." Topper Sarah's boyfriend steps in.

"That's a nice suggestion there Topper but I didn't ask you, now if you said pretty please, maybe, but you didn't." JJ says a bit drunkenly. "Oh, pretty please." Topper replies back.

Topper then throws a drink in JJ's face. "Dude what the hell!" I say angrily. JJ tries to run up to Topper but John B steps in to calm him down.

"Dirty Pogues!" Topper yells. John B runs to Topper and pushes him hard. "John B!" I yell. "We're supposed to be incognito remember." Pope says to John B.

"Babe, Babe—"Sarah says before topper punches John B.

John B falls and while trying to get up Topper kicks him back down. "Guys chill!" Kiara yells.

"Hey, John B, don't make me drown you like your old man, all right?" Topper says.
"Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!" I heard people around us chanting.

As Topper walks away John B gets back up and body slams him to the ground.

"Give it to him man!" JJ yells. "John B, let it go!" Pope yells. "Stop you guys!" Kie yells. "John B!" I yell.

"Topper stop!" Sarah yells. "Come on John B!" Topper says as the two of them are squared up moving around each other. John B then punches Topper.

"Get him John B!" I yell. "Yeah that's my boy!" JJ yells.

"Come on!" John B yells to Topper angrily. "Yeah you wanna go?" Topper yells back at John B. Topper then punches John B.

"Stop! John B!" Kie yells at him. Topper then tries to punch John B again but this time he dodges it and John be pushes him into the water.

"Come on Topper! Let's go! Come on!" John B yells at Topper. Topper tries to punch John B again but he dodges it again. John B tries to strike at him but Topper flips him over into the water and starts trying to drown him.

"What the hell are you doing?!" I yell at topper. "Topper? Topper stop!" Sarah yells at her boyfriend. "We have to do something!" I whisper yell to JJ. JJ goes to his backpack to grab something.

He goes up to the water and points his gun at Toppers head. "JJ! JJ!" Kiara yells worriedly.

"He's got a gun!" I heard someone say and everyone starts running. "Put the gun down!" Sarah yells. "Did you say something princess?" JJ says while still having the gun pointed to Toppers head.

"JJ, come on put the gun down." I say to him calmly. "Kace can you check your psycho friend please!" Sarah yells at me. "Oh please, as if your boyfriend wasn't trying to drown my friend!" I yell back in defense.

"Okay, everyone, listen up! Get the hell off our side of the island!" JJ yells while pointing the gun in the air and shooting it twice.

Kie pushes JJ in anger. "Are you crazy! You idiot, why would you do that?" I hear Pope yell at JJ while I'm helping John B out of the water. "I was saving his life okay!" JJ yells in defense

John B faints. "YOU GUYS John B fainted." I yell to them.

While driving back to John B's house JJ asks me "Are you mad at me?" "No way, you were just just trying to save John B but was it really necessary to shoot the gun in the air and tell everyone to "get the hell off our side of the island" I reply softly. He chuckles softly but looks down sadly. I put my hand on his cheek  "Hey, you're a good person, who just happens to do stupid shit sometimes." I say while looking at him.

If I'm being honest I don't exactly remember when or how I started crushing on JJ. Part of me thinks that it started when I first met him but my crush on him just got bigger along the way. I don't know if he feels the same way about me though.

I rest my head on his shoulder and wait for us to drop John B off.

The next day

When I woke up in the middle of the night from my slumber it was 4am. I was still worried about John B since I still had no text from him saying he was okay.

I was also worried about JJ cause he seemed to feel bad about what had happened at the kegger. But now wasn't the time to think about that.

I went downstairs to get some water. While I'm walking to the kitchen I hear the sound of drawers opening it was dark and I got a little scared. So I grab a pen from the table and I hold it while walking to the kitchen and when I turned on the lights.

I saw Rafe. Shirtless.

I gasped "Jesus you scared me." I say startled. "And you were gonna stab me with a pen?" He says in a jokingly manner. "It doesn't matter what are you even doing here in the dark?" I ask

"Well I came to get a drink of water." Rafe replies. "Oh me too." I say.

Rafe takes a a few steps and gets close to me and pushes my hair behind my ear "You know I miss you coming around the house." Rafe says with a smirk while looking down at me then walks out of the kitchen.

You remember how I was saying me and Sarah were really close. Me and Sarah first met when I moved to figure eight when I was eight years old.

Eight years ago

"This is a huge house my older brother Klayton said." "Come on you guys this is a new start! You guys can choose your rooms." My father says excitedly. "Wait we can choose our own rooms?!" My sister Kehlani says surprised."Yeah! Of course." My dad replies.

Me and my siblings run upstairs to choose our rooms. Honestly I was just happy I didn't have to share a room with my brother anymore.

"Hey there Mr.Cameron! Kacia get down here there's someone I want you to meet" I hear my dad yell from downstairs.

"This is Sarah Cameron, and this is her father Ward Cameron." "Hello." I say shyly. "Sweetie me and ward have some business to discuss so I'll leave you here with Sarah." My dad says.

At first it was awkward with me and Sarah but a few minutes later we were talking and laughing like we knew each other for years.

After me and Sarah finish laughing I decide to ask her a few questions. "So do you have any siblings?" "I have two siblings one is Wheezie she's five, and I have a brother Rafe he's eleven." Sarah says answering my question

"How come they didn't come?" I ask her. "They're at home with my mom, I usually follow my dad everywhere, I love my dad my whole family would fall apart without him." Sarah says. "I love my dad too. I really look up to him." I say while smiling.

"Sarah it's time to go." Ward yells from downstairs. "Guess it's time for me to go, I'll ask my dad if you can come over sometime this week." Sarah says while walking to the door. "Okay bye." I say a little sadly. She comes back to give me a hug then runs downstairs.
