"Hey, Ray. You see people, right?" Y/n closed her book and placed it on her lap.
He raised his head and looked over at her. "Pardon?"
She rolled her eyes and sighed, kicking her feet off of the couch so they'd touch the hardwood floors of her living room. "Like, you see people for more than their appearances. Right?"
"Oh, sure, I guess so. Why do you ask?" He questioned.
"Well, if you see everyone past their appearances, how do you see me?" She clasped her hands together and smiled.
"I see you as a stupid and stubborn girl." He scoffed.
She frowned and crossed her arms. "You're such a dick."
"No, I'm just honest. You're annoying, too."
"How so?"
He shrugged his shoulders. "You don't shut up, you've always got an opinion on everything."
"I'm pretty sure everyone has an opinion on things, whether they speak it or not. I choose to speak, most of the time." She chewed on her cheek.
"You only choose to speak when you're around Emma, Norman, and me."
Before Y/n could speak, Norman interjected. "Actually, I couldn't help but notice that she's become more social over the past 4 months." He raised his index finger.
Ray looked at his white-haired friend, then back at the girl. "I guess she has, hasn't she?" He smirked.
She looked at Norman and tilted her head. "Have I really?"
Norman nodded.
"Huh, now that I think about it... I guess I sort of did become more social."
"Maybe you'll finally get a boyfriend now." Emma slid close to her friend and nudged her with her elbow, winking and making a smug face.
Ray made a face of jealousy and disapprovement. "She couldn't get a boyfriend if she even wanted to."
The h/c girl pushed her friend away from her and spoke, "Yeah what Ray said- Hey, wait a minute!" She stood up and was about to presumably punch him before the ginger held the collar of her shirt, holding her back. "Let me at him!" She threw her fists in the air.
"She can be the most terrifying thing, I'll tell you that," Ray spoke loudly to Norman, making sure she'd hear.
"DIE." She shouted with pure anger.
"She's so dramatic, get's angry over the smallest things." Ray shook his head and sighed.
"KEEP TALKING RAY, SEE WHAT HAPPENS!"
"STOP. BEING. SO. LOUD!" Alexander opened his bedroom door and shouted. "Y/N STOP TRYING TO KILL MY BABYSITTER!" He slammed it shut.
Y/n growled before taking a deep breath. "Okay, okay. I'm fine."
"Are you sure?" Emma raised an eyebrow.
The e/c-girl groaned. "Yes, yes. Now let me go before I choke to death.
The green-eyed ginger nodded and let her friend go. "Now that everyone's calmed down, we should make plans! Y'know, since tomorrow is Christmas Eve and all! We could have a mini Christmas party, just the four of us!"
They all returned to their spots on the 2 couches.
"If you'd like, we can have it at my house." Ray smiled lightly.
"Your house?" Y/n looked at him slightly shocked, as she had never been there before.
"Wow, Ray, we never go to your house anymore! I haven't been there since like... middle school!" Emma gasped.
"Yeah, well, mom's embarrassing." He laughed nervously and scratched the back of his neck.
"No, she's not, I love your mom! She makes the best cookies." Norman grinned.
"Yeah! She's basically like a second mom to me." Emma added.
"Same here." Said Norman.
"Well, she'll be there. If you all do come, I'll be sure to tell her to make some more of those cookies."
"Is your mom attractive?" Y/n asked waiting patiently for a response. Everyone slowly turned their heads to look at her.
"Excuse me?" Ray said in shock.
"Well, is she?"
"No?"
"Darn, I don't see what the big deal is then." She sighed and rested her chin on the palm of her hand.
"You're so weird." Ray sighed, shaking his head and covering his face with his hands.
She rolled her eyes. "And you're not?" The stubborn girl threw a pillow at his head. "Emo boy." She mumbled.
Surprisingly, she wasn't expecting him to throw one back at her. "Weirdo."
She threw one back at him faster this time, standing up. "Pervert!" She shouted.
"Dummy!" He stood up and threw another back at her.
"Stalker!"
"Idiot!"
"Cyclops!"
"Asshole!"
"Jerk!"
"Bitc-"
"Okay, okay! That's enough." Emma panicked and jumped in between the two. "Soo, your house on Christmas eve, huh Ray?"
The three returned to their spots, Ray and Y/n crossing their arms.
"Yeah. You guys can come over on Christmas Eve. Ma will say yes, I know she will." He rolled his eyes.
"Great! Are you guys in?" Emma looked at Norman and Y/n back and forth. Norman nodded, and they all looked at Y/n
"Yeah, I guess. Whatever." She sighed.
"Stubborn." Ray mumbled and let out a 'tch' sound.
"What was that punk?" She leaned forwards and had an angry expression on her face.
"I said-"
"Okay! Ray, Emma, I think it's time we leave. Don't you agree?" Norman stood up and clasped his hands together, letting a nervous chuckle escape his pale lips.
"Yes! I agree, come, Ray! Let's go." Emma quickly pulled Ray to his feet and pulled him to the door, shoving his coat in his face. "Ba-bye Y/n, cya tomorrow!" Emma called out excitedly and shoved Ray out the door before he even had his coat on.
"Bye Y/n, thanks for having us over!" Norman smiled before closing the door
"I hate that stupid dark-haired pervert." Y/n groaned before standing on her feet once again, putting away the board games they had played prior. She peeked into her brother's room before heading upstairs, giving him a hug and wishing him goodnight. She made her way upstairs and returned to her room, putting away the used board games and hopping onto her bed. She glanced over at the old alarm clock placed on her chipped-paint night table, reading the time. "12 am? It's so late..." She mumbled and flicked off her salt lamp, rolling onto her side and curling up under her blanket. Not much longer later, snoring could be heard from her room.

"Mom, I'm going to Ray's now. Okay?" Y/n leaned in the entrance of her kitchen, speaking fast and staring at her mother.
She tried to run out the door but her mother shouted to her, causing her to stop. "To Ray's? Isn't it Christmas Eve?"
Y/n sighed and retraced her steps back to the kitchen, leaning in the doorway once again. "Yes, it is."
"Shouldn't he be spending time with family? He celebrates Christmas, doesn't he?" The mother questioned the girl as her hands cupped a mug half full of steaming hot cocoa.
"Well yeah, he does. But he's been with them all day, and he'll be with them tomorrow so that makes up for it I guess." She pushed herself more into the kitchen, leaning on the door frame. "Can I go now?"
"How're you getting there? Will Emma and Norman be joining you?"
The e/c-eyed girl groaned. "Why so many questions? And I'll be getting there by train, of course. And yes, I'll be meeting them there."
"Are you sure it's safe to take the train by yourself?"
"I do it every day, mom." The girl rubbed her forehead and sighed, shutting her eyes tightly.
"Okay, okay. Sorry that I'm concerned for the safety of my daughter." The mother put her hands in the air as if surrendering.
Y/n rolled her eyes. "Can I go now?"
"Fine, yes. Go, go. Don't be out too late!" The mother sighed and shooed her daughter off with her hand.
"I won't!" She yelled and hurried out the door struggling to put her coat on as she walked.
She reached the train station at about 7:42 pm. It would only take 10 minutes to get to Ray's house thankfully. They set to meet at Ray's house at 8 pm, so she'd arrive there shortly.
Y/n bought a ticket from the ticket booth and just barely made it on the train in time. She took a seat and looked around. There barely anybody on the train. In fact, there looked to be only about 12 others. Two of them were sleeping. The train was quiet and peaceful. She enjoyed it when it was like this. She reached her hand into the pocket of her coat and slowly took something out and examined it. "This is foolish. He probably won't even like it." She sighed and placed the thing back in her pocket.
"oi, kid! STOP TALKING TO YOURSELF!" A man with brown hair and what seemed to be white streaks was sitting on the opposite side of the train and shouted at the girl.
The girl squealed in surprise, grabbing her heart as if she was going to have a heart attack. She looked at him with a look of anger. "SHUT UP YOU OLD MAN!"
"NO! YOU WOKE ME UP!"
"WELL YOU WOKE EVERYONE ELSE UP BY SCREAMING AT ME!"
He groaned and rested his face in his hands. "And whatever you've got there, probably is foolish. So don't give it to your boyfriend or whatever." He waved his hand in the air.
She blushed. "I'm not giving it to my boyfriend. He's just a friend. Besides, he probably won't like it anyways." Her voice got softer as she spoke.
The man scratched the back of his neck and sighed. "Just give it to him, kid. You'll never know if you don't try."
"Oh, well uh... Thanks, mister..." The h/c-haired girl looked at him waiting for him to tell her his name.
"Yuugo." He replied as the train came to a stop.
"Thanks, Yuugo. See you around!" She sprang out of her seat and quickly hopped off the train. She made her way out of the station quickly and turned left from there just as Ray told her.
Y/n glanced at the large-gated house in front of her, then at the number on the side. "81, this is it." She mumbled and pushed open the large gate. She was shocked at how large the house before her eyes really was. She didn't even have to knock. Ray was waiting in the entrance to open the door for her.
"Hey, come in!" He smiled and moved out of the way so she could get through.
"You waited to open the door for me?"
"Yeah, the room where Emma and Norman are in is far away from here, and the maids are off duty because of the holidays, and I knew you wouldn't just walk in, so, I waited."
"Ah, I see. Thank you- Wait, maids?" She went wide-eyed.
"Oh, um, yeah. I'm sort of rich, surprise?" He laughed nervously. "Now come on. We don't want to keep Emma and Norman waiting." He grabbed her hand and pulled her inside.
She looked up at the tall ceiling, which from a large crystal chandelier dangled. Surrounding it was a large art mural of angels and doves.
"Holy crap." She mumbled and kept her eyes locked on the ceiling.
"Hurry up Y/n." He smiled at the amazed girl.
"Your ceiling- It's so high? How'd they even paint that? Did you realize there's a chandelier?"
"Surprisingly I have. I've only lived here nearly 18 years." He laughed and pulled her upstairs.
"Even your stairway is fancy!" She exclaimed.
"Is it now?" He smirked. "If you like this place, you should see Norman's."
"There's no way it's better than this." She smiled brightly as he pulled her into his room to join Emma and Norman.
"Y/n! You're here!" Emma grinned, springing to her feet and hugging the girl.
"Why are you so excited? I saw you last night." She smiled and released from the hug.
"You're acting like this is new. I'm always full of energy!" Emma grinned and raised her arms into the air.
"You're right." She smiled and took a moment to look around Ray's room. "Woah, cool room Ray."
"Thanks." He put his hands in his pockets and stood beside her.
"I expected you to have a bookshelf considering you enjoy reading so much." She glanced over at the tallboy.
"We have a library. We store all of our books there."
She blinked. "And you didn't tell me about this?"
"I just forgot too." He laughed. "If you'd like, I can show you it."
"Yes please!" She smiled and nodded.
Ray looked over at the two sitting on armchairs opposite of each other and pointed. "We'll be right back. Don't try anything you two. Hear me?"
The two began to blush furiously.
Norman buried his face in his pale hands and groaned. "Just shut up Ray."
Ray smirked and led Y/n out of the room.
"Oh! I was just coming to see you!" A woman's voice spoke from behind Y/n and Ray.
"Hi, mom." Ray turned around and waved. "This is Y/n."
The black-haired woman smirked and made a smug face. "So you're Y/n! Ray has told me all about you. Actually, now that I mention it, he doesn't stop!" She laughed and walked over to the two.
Y/n hid her blush with a giggle.
"Mom!" Ray said, embarrassed.
"Oops. Was I not meant to say that?" The woman said obviously playing dumb.
"Obviously." He groaned.
"Anywho, It's a pleasure to meet you, Y/n." The woman smiled at the girl. "You can call me Isabella."
"Izzy, is it her?" A man's voice could be heard from the stairwell.
The woman looked back and nodded, causing a tall man with purple hair to come into view, standing beside Isabella and wrapping his arm gently around her waist. "Hi there. I'm Leslie, Ray's dad."
'Well, it's no wonder Ray is so good-looking, these are his parents.' Y/n thought and smiled. "It's nice to meet you both! And may I just say that your house is absolutely gorgeous."
"Why thank you! It's actually passed down through the family. Which means Ray will be the next to own it." She nudged the boy with her elbow. "And hopefully he'll be accompanied by a lovely wife." She glanced at Y/n and winked.
The purple-haired man named Leslie fake-coughed and the two teens could swear they heard him say Y/n in between coughs.
"Okay, that's enough. We'll be going now, Y/n wants to see the library." He tried to leave, but Isabella continued talking.
"Oh, do you enjoy reading Y/n?"
The girl smiled. "Yes, I do actually! It's my favorite hobby."
"You're kidding! It's Ray's too."
"I know, he's told me about it." She chuckled.
"Oh, he has, has he?" Isabella smirked and lifted her eyes to her husband as if they were having a conversation through their eyes. Perks of marrying your soulmate I guess. "Well, we'll let you two kids go now. Bye! Nice meeting you sweetheart!" They waved as Ray pulled Y/n through a large double door.
"She'd be the perfect wife for him. They're soulmates, Leslie. I can feel it."
