A/N: Should I write another Ray x reader book where it actually takes place in the promised neverland, orphanage, and all? It would follow the manga after season 1 of course ;)) Please give me your opinions! Also, if I do, should I give Y/n a personality like hers in this story or similar to Tohru Hondas from fruits basket? ( I love tohru so much she's an angel if you don't like her I dislike you )

"This place is... massive." Y/n smiled and looked at the ginormous bookshelves filled with books of all sorts.

"Isn't it? The books in here go all the way back to 1938, I believe." He closed the door behind them and walked more into the library.

"1938? No wonder this place is so old-looking. I didn't mean that in a bad way, by the way. I meant it's so beautiful. They don't build homes like this anymore."

He shook his head. "Sadly they don't. I wish they did, though. Then maybe that would make this world more beautiful."

"You talk like this world is cruel and depressing." She chuckled.

"Because it is."

"No, it's not. You're just being dramatic. You've yet to see the beauties living has." She laughed and sat on the edge of a polished wooden table.

"Oh? And what are these so-called beauties?" He raised an eyebrow and leaned on a bookshelf.

"Nature. There are so many beautiful things in nature, but people just end up destroying them. And-"

The girl continued to ramble on and on, and Ray listened. But he didn't need her to list all these so found 'beauties' just for him to able to name one. Because he could already name one off of the top of his head. And she was sitting right in front of him.

"Well, yeah. I guess those could be some." He chuckled. "But that doesn't make this world any less depressing."

"Oh stop being such an emo." She rolled her eyes playfully. "And, I guess it doesn't. But it definitely makes it better!" She smiled and reached up to grab a random book off the shelf, reading it from the start.

"Every day has the same value." He crossed his arms.

"Hm? Sorry, I was focused on the book." She laughed nervously.

"Don't worry about it, I was just saying something meaningless anyway."

"Don't be silly! Nothing you say could be meaningless." She leaned forward and smiled, placing the book back to its spot.

"Put out your hands." He said.

"Is that a request or a demand?" She smirked.

"Uh, demand."

"Hm, okay." She cautiously stuck out her hands.

"Close your eyes too."

She listened and quickly shut her eyes nervously. "I should stop letting my guard down around you. You could just kill me right now."

"If you keep acting so annoying then I just might." He chuckled and placed a tiny box in her hands.

The girl wouldn't have been able to tell if something was placed in her hands if it wasn't for her slight jolt when it touched her.

"You can open your eyes now."

She proceeded to follow his instructions and open her e/c eyes, staring at the small white box in her hands. "This resembles a ring box. Are you proposing to me? I think you're supposed to get on one knee, you know."

"Haha, very funny." He rolled his eyes and sighed. He placed his hand on hers and opened the box using her hand.

"Oh, wow..." She blinked and stared at the necklace in the box. "Is this... for me?" She lifted her eyes to his.

"No, it's for Norman. Yes, it's for you, you dummy." He bonked her on the head and returned his hands to the pockets of his jeans. "Do you like it?"

"Yes, I, uh- It's beautiful." She smiled nervously, as she had never received a gift this expensive before. Y/n didn't even have to ask about the price. Just by looking at it, she could tell it was something that she couldn't afford. It was a gold chain with a f/c pendant attached. "Are you um, sure I should have this? It looks expensive. You should give this to someone special to you instead." She gulped before closing the box and pushing it towards him.

"But you're someone special to me." He leaned forward, placing one hand on the desk beside her and the other on her cheek, grazing it with his thumb. "This necklace is yours. Do you need help putting it on?" He smirked as he watched her cheeks turn red.

"Uh- Y-yeah, thanks." She gulped as he opened the box and pulled the gold necklace out.

"Turn around." His voice was soft. His voice was almost always soft around her, even when they're fighting. It doesn't take a love genius to see that he cares deeply about her.

She turned around and moved her h/c hair out of the way. He gently wrapped the necklace around her neck and connected the clip to the chain.

"There." He placed his hands on her shoulders. "Please, keep it. I got it especially for you. I don't expect you to have anything for me, but that doesn't matter. Just, please. Keep this."

"Oh! I actually do have something for you. I'm not sure if you'll like it though..." She turned around to face him and blushed, realizing how close they were standing. His hands remained gently placed on her shoulders. She reached into her pocket and held out the tiny box. "Here!"

He looked down at it, carefully taking it from her hands and opening it. Inside was a black-tied bracelet with black beads on it and in the center was a Black 'R' Pendant. He carefully slipped it on his wrist and moved the box to his pocket.

I imagine it looks something like this;

"Thank you, I love it." He smiled warmly and wrapped his arms around her, pulling her into a tight hug. At first, the h/c girl wasn't quite sure how to react. Sure, you could say she and Ray were friends, but it wasn't normal for them to hug. She hesitantly wrapped her arms around him. It was peaceful. The library was quiet. No other sound could be heard other than the sound of their quiet breaths and their thumping heartbeats in sync with one another. Ray was warm. Her head was buried in his chest, and her eyes were shut. At that moment, nothing else mattered.

Y/n froze when she had realized why she felt so safe, felt as if nothing else mattered except for her and Ray at that moment. She loved him. She's always loved him, more than friends.

"Hey, you guys! What's taking so long- OH- SORRY!" Norman barged in, then panicked when he realized he had ruined a so-called 'perfect' moment.

Ray sighed and pulled away, glaring at Norman. "What is it Norman?"

Norman gulped and entered the room. "The two of you have been gone for a half-an-hour. We thought you were just showing Y/n the library."

"I was." He crossed his arms.

"Well, uh, sorry to disrupt, again. I'll leave you two alone-"

"No, that's fine. We're coming" Ray sighed and rubbed his forehead. He placed his hand on Y/n's lower back and gent;y pushed her towards the door, to which he followed.

A/N: Sorry for another short chapter, but this is more of a second part to chapter 8!
