( 037. 'face masks' )

THE SUN WAS SETTING ON THE LAST DAY of the family vacation. everyone had spent the day on the beach, playing in the sand, and enjoying up the final moments of their trip. but as the evening came to an end, ariella and walker found themselves wanting to make the most of their last night together.

it wasn't just that they had spent the past few days enjoying each other's company—it was that they had come to realize how much they'd come to mean to each other. it was hard to believe that just a month ago ago, they were caught in the mess of arguments and misunderstandings. now, they were finally a couple, it felt like they were inseparable.

as the sun dipped lower, the two found a moment alone on the deck, sitting to watch the waves once more. walker wrapped his arm around her shoulders, pulling her close, his warmth comforting as they looked out to sea. 

"can you believe this is our last night?" she asked softly, leaning into him.

walker sighed. "i mean not really i feel like we just got here."

"i know," ariella agreed. "i wish we didn't have to leave tomorrow."

walker laughed, pulling her closer. "we still have tonight, though."

she smiled up at him, thinking about what they could do to finish off their last night. "oo, walkie i have an idea!"

as the night went on, walker and ariella decided to spend the night in her room. ariella was practically bouncing with excitement, and walker couldn't help but laugh at the girls sudden burst of energy.

"okk boyfriend so, for walker and ariellas last night they are going to dooo. MATCHING PJS AND FACE MASKSSS!" ariella smiled as she opened her suitcase, pulling out a set of matching pj's her and blake packed just incase. 

"why do you have the perfect size for me?" walker replied with a raised eyebrow, his hands still at his sides, looking at the pink and white striped pajamas."i mean, its like you just knew i was going to ask you out."

ariella giggled, walking up to him and holding out the pair for him to take. "i didnt, but somehow blake did. anyways! thats not the point we date nowww, which means i get to force you to do all the cute couple stuff i want."

walker rolled his eyes dramatically. he took the PJs and went to change into them in the bathroom, while Ariella changed into hers, smiling as she put on the matching pink shorts. it was a great idea, and she couldn't help but be excited about spending a night with him.

when they both went back into the room, walker looked at ariella and shook his head with a grin. "its alot of pink." he said, pointing down to the pink hello kitty pajamas with hearts on them that ariella had him wearing. 

ariella laughed, walking up to him and adjusting the shirt on his shoulders. "i think you look adorable. don't fight it. you know you love it."

once they took like 300 pictures, it was time for the next part of their night. ariella had brought face masks. she grabbed them from the bathroom counter and turned to him with a smile.

"okay, now for the fun part," she said as she showed him the face masks. "we're going to look ridiculous, but we're doing this. trust me, it'll be worth it."

walker gave her a skeptical look, but he couldn't stop the small laugh that escaped him as he saw the sparkly container she was holding up. "im putting this on my face?"

ariella shrugged with a grin. "you only live once."

ariella, pulled out her camera and set it up on the tripod by her bed, making sure it captured everything.

"hi, everyone!" she said cheerfully, her face beaming as she sat beside walker on her bed. 

she shot a quick look at walker, who was sitting next to her, trying his best to hold back a laugh. "i convinced MY BOYFRIEND to do face masks with me. yes—he's willingly agreeing to this." she shot him a teasing glance. 

walker rolled his eyes, but couldn't help but laugh. "i think you're just enjoying embarrassing me at this point."

ariella grinned, pulling out the face masks. "okay, time to put these on. anyways guys sooo, me and walkie are leaving tomorrow, but this vacation has been absolutely wonderful." 

walker came up behind ariella, wrapped his arms around her shoulders and smiled. "i'm really glad we did this trip. it's been great."

they both looked at each other with soft, happy smiles, and then started to apply their face masks, ariella putting on walkers perfectly, and him putting hers on with effort. it was silly, but it felt right—perfect, even.

once their face masks were on, they settled down on the bed, snuggled under the covers, and continued filming for a bit. ariella's camera caught them both laughing at how the face masks were already starting to dry.

but soon, the laughter died down, and they both just lay there, comfortable in each other's arms. the quiet of the room was peaceful with only the tv playing softly in the back, a sharp contrast to energy of the vacation. walker pulled ariella closer, his head resting gently against hers.

"im really glad we did this," ariella whispered, her voice soft and content.

walker nodded, his lips brushing the top of her head as he closed his eyes. "yeah. it's been... really fun."

they stayed like that for a while, enjoying the warmth of each other's presence. ariella closed her eyes, her heart full as she drifted off to sleep, with walker's steady breathing the last thing she heard before everything went quiet.
