"I'm glad you're all here." You sigh in relief when you heard the other platoon leaders' voice in your earpiece. It's only been three minutes since you've unleashed your full combat power, and now you're planning to assist Hoshina.

You glance at the hologram that appears in front of you, displaying a tactical map with red dots representing the Yoju. You watch as the number of red dots begins to dwindle with each passing second. The arrival of the platoon leaders has turned the tide, and together, you are making swift progress in annihilating the Yoju.

The red dots continue to decrease in number. The once-overwhelming swarm is now a scattering of enemies, their forces being methodically cut down by your coordinated efforts. You feel a renewed sense of determination, knowing that with every passing moment, the threat diminishes.

Your eyes scanned the area, there were debris everywhere as the buildings that once stood firm and tall in the Tachikawa base had now fall into pieces. Tapping your earpiece as you connect with the others, there were injured soldiers here and there and some of the soldiers had helped the ones in need, carrying them to a safer place.

"This is [Name]," you spoke when you heard a beep. "I'll back up Vice Captain Hoshina, will you guys be able to handle the remaining Yoju?" There were still lots of Yoju that are flying around the base, their squawking noises and their laser beams were a headache.

"We will be fine," Nakanoshima replied, her voice was muffled by the respiratory mask, you could hear guns firing and grunts from the soldiers around her. "Don't mind us and go." It was Ikaruga's voice, he was shouting orders at the orhers.

You nodded even though they wouldn't see you. With the use of your combat power, you spring yourself up with ease. The feeling of the warm breeze presses against your skin, and your hair violently flows behind you, getting tangled as you soar into the sky. As you ascend higher, the chaotic sounds of the battlefield below begin to fade, replaced by the steady roar of the air rushing past your ears.

It was all smoky because of the dust that filled the air when the building disintegrated into slivers, a consequence of the relentless assault. The constant attacks from the Yoju had stirred up a thick, choking cloud, mingling with the haze from the bullets fired into the fray. The air was thick with debris and the acrid scent of gunpowder, creating a suffocating atmosphere that made it difficult to breathe without the respiratory mask over your face.

"Hang in there, Hoshina."

. . .

"Vice captain!" Okonogi's scream reverberated in your ears, making you put your hand on your earpiece. You could hear the panic in her voice, she keeps calling for Hoshina and it got you worried.

What happened to him?

"Okonogi, what happened?" You buzz in, you were taking care of Yoju that surrounded the training ground as they keep coming at your way, making you be distracted because of it. "The Honju.. had a fortitude level of 9.0." Her voice shakes, you can feel her panicked.

Propelling yourself up in the air as you're almost at the training ground, pulling on the techniques of the spear to speed up neutralizing the Yoju. Spinning your spear in a wide arc as a powerful gust of wind was created that knocks off the Yoju.

"Fourth form: Cyclone Sweep." Watching as the Yoju's armor had been damaged with the cyclone attack, you immediately wasted no time and pierced your spear in each of their core.

"Okonogi, how far am I to Hoshina's location?" Your breathing was heavy as each step you took seemed to be weighing you down, like some weights were put on your feet making you slow your footsteps. "You're 5 minutes away from him." She replied in haste, staring at the blinking red dot which was you that was running towards the gate of the training ground.

"Just hold on, Hoshina."

. . .

"Your marksmanship is truly applaudable." Your voice echoed in his head, slowly opening his eyes as blood trickles down his nose and forehead. He could hear Okonogi shouting for him as his vision slowly clear up and he remembered being in a fight with the Honju.

"Don't worry! I'm still kickin'!" He said in jest, slowly standing up as he winced. Feeling how heavy his body is and he heard everyone sigh in relief when they found out that he was somewhat okay.

Leaning on the wall as support, it was dented because of the harsh impact. Even though he put the protective shield on max, he still received that heavy blow from the Honju, sending him flying and going through multiple buildings. He could feel how dore his shoulders are, even his hips were hurting but he let the combat suit to sooth the feeling out.

A sigh escapes his lips when he found out that he was already at his limit, releasing his full forced and he have to improvise to take the monster head on. He knew it himself, it would be impossible for him to neutralize a Kaiju that stood over 20 meters tall or so.

Okonogi had updated him about what is currently happening outside of the training ground. The other soldiers, after the platoon leaders who were off-duty had arrived, manage to turn the tide against the Yoju. Eliminating one Yoju after the other in a fast pace.

"That's good to hear." Hoshina muttered, his voice muffled when the feet of the Honju had stepped in front of him. "Then, I gotta carry my duty until the end." His voice echoed in the operatin room, in front of him stood the monster, its fist aiming at his small figure.

"You really like taking things on your own hands, huh?" He heard your voice, his eyes widen at your tone. He was currently pulling on techniques to try and damage the Honju in front of him, even if it kills him. From afar, you could already see the Honju as you arrive at the gates.

Using the debris as a stepping stone for you to propell yourself up, feeling the combat suit helping you to reach Hoshina's side within a minute. Hoshina was running on the arm of the Honju, swiftly swinging his blades on its tough armor but it only formed sparks because of its exterior.

You could see the desperation in his every attacks, he keeps swinging and jumping around, using his techniques to land a proper damage to the Honju but as his blade manage to slice through its flesh, it wasn't deep enough to hurt it as the Honju quickly regenerate and healed up the part that the vice captain had sliced through.

Then, as he landed another attack, swinging his blade in the air as mist formed around the invisible slashes and looked like a smoke screen to hide away from the Honju's gaze, but he didn't noticed it large hands that sweeped him in the air, clutching his small figure compare to its size.

Your eyes widen, you couldn't believe that you saw him be hurt like that. Even with your full forced, you weren't fast enough on your feet to swoop him in your arms away from the Honju. Hearing Okonogi panicks once more, you could already see the tears around her eyes as she watches and the other from the Operation room of how Hoshina was grabbed like that.

The building crumbled beneath your powerful kick, debris scattering as you launched yourself into the air. Okonogi watched through the camera, anticipation crawling up her skin as she is worried for the vice captain's well-being, then the camera caught your figure with your hands raised, the sharp blade poised toward the Honju. From afar, you could see Hoshina's bloodied form, gripping your spear tightly as you made your way toward the Honju and him, to him.

"Sixth form: Lunar Arc." Veins bulged on your face, irritation clear in your expression. Hoshina, looking up, saw the glowing, crescent-shaped trails following your blade. The Honju's tough arms were no match as your blade sliced through them effortlessly. The sharp edge of it sliced through the arms of the Honju, even though it was tough, you sliced through it like butter.

The Honju's surprise was palpable as you appeared in the sky, freeing Hoshina from its grasp. Now falling, Hoshina called out, "Hey, Kaiju... I told you that you messed with the wrong people." His eyes locked onto yours. Your jade green eyes held tenacity and anger towards the Honju as you stared at him. Putting your spear behind your back in the last second before you dive towards him and easily scooping him in your arms.

You nearly face-planted on the ground but managed to extend your right leg, halting your descent in the nick of time. Cheers erupted from Okonogi and the others as they witnessed your daring rescue of Hoshina. Despite his bloodied state, he couldn't help but blush as he looked up at you, his eyes wide with a mix of gratitude and embarrassment from the position he is in.

"W-why are you carrying me like this?!" he managed to stutter, still cradled in your arms. You stood up effortlessly, as if his weight were nothing, then unceremoniously let go, allowing him to hit the ground with a thud. He looked at you with a glare but you just brushed him off. Your worry was lifted off your chest when you felt him in your arms earlier. "Don't be reckless, Hoshina." You admonished , turning your back at him, pulling your spear off your back and swing it as the tip of it pointed at the ground.

"Let her do her job."

"Great work, everyone." Then, the voice of the captain was heard in everyone's earpiece. You glanced over to see her standing in her glory, her tiger behind her, supporting her balance against the recoil of the shot. Green light glowed from the mouth of her cannon, and in seconds, it was released. The Honju couldn't evade the bullet's speed. Ashiro leaned on her tiger, using it to steady herself.

The laser that was released in her cannon pierced through its arm, disintegrating it. But as fast as it lost its harm, it was immediately regenerated back. Hoshina stood beside you, putting an arm on your shoulder to steady himself.

"I guess it's not that easy, huh." He looked at you and you looked at him, he could still the concern in your eyes but the determination clouded it. "Now, time to give it one more go." He muttered, removing his arm off your shoulder as his grip on his blade tightened.

You observe him lunge forward, he was testing his limits. Sighing at his recklessness, you followed him suit. Him taking on its legs to reduce it mobility to give Ashiro some time to take her spot to hit the target once again.

As you ascended into the sky, you met the monster's gaze head-on. You pierced your blade into its chest, gripping the handle of your spear tightly. You forced the blade downward, slicing through its body with a powerful stroke. The Honju let out a frustrated groan, the pain evident in its roar.

Hoshina on the other hand was pushed back as soon as he manage to cut through its armo, but it immediately regenerated. He was sprawled on the ground, frustration evident in his face. And behind him, Shinomiya emerged with her axe, aiming it at its leg with a technique of hers. But her blade deflected and couldn't cut through its defense, forcing her to be pushed back.

You landed on your feet, eyes staring at the wound you managed to inflicted to the monster, purple liquid spurts out of it and it bubbles up as it was being regenerated. "Damn it, I'm not strong enough to scratch it?" Exasperation was heard from her tone, despite her with her full forced, she couldn't even land a proper hit on the monster.

"Shinomiya, keep going!" Hoshina shouted, he glanced at you before speaking. "I'll cut open the shell, then you'll chop into the wound. [Name], I can trust you with your own thing, right?" You gave him a nod and followed him when he lunge forward to the leg of the Honju.

His marksmanship never failed to amaze you, despite him having lower combat power than you right now, he was faster and he can still slice through its armor even though he was all bloodied up. Going towards the other leg, bring your spear forward and jabbing it into its armor then met its flesh, slicing it in a downward motion as purple goo oozes out of the open wound.

You saw that Kikoru wasted no time following Hoshina's instructions. As soon as Hoshina exposed the vulnerable flesh of the Honju, Shinomiya struck it with all her might. Her precise hit landed with a resounding boom, the force reverberating through the air. The Honju was immobilized, stumbling on its own form as its both legs were wounded.

Kikoru flew in the air and rolled down the ground, her axe a few feet away from her. Ichikawa run towards her side, helping her to kneel down, she was breathing heavily as a hologram flash in front of her, it flashes red, showing that she already reached for her limit.

As the Honju was down on its knee, Ashiro appeared behind it, her cannon aiming for its back as her tiger came behind her to support her balance once the shot was fired. Greenlight once again emerges from the mouth of her weapon and if pierced through the thick armor and into its flesh, making the core be exposed for another shot of hers.

While she was regaining her balance and readying another shot, you and Hoshina support her on the ground with your blades in hand and keeping it immobilized and slicing a path for the captain. You knew that Hoshina was already at his limit, his suit will overheat within the second so you want to assist him and Ashiro, fast.

Propelling yourself in the air, the Honju aimed a punch at your figure but you landed on it, running through its long arm as you try to aim your spear in its glowing eyes. But it saw right through your plan, it part its mouth open and let out a loud roar, gust of wind flew past you making you be flown out of its way. And two Yoju flew at you, and before you could hit it with your spear, it blow itself up as soon as it was closer at you.

"Shit," you muttered, feeling the sensation of the explosion and the pain that the two Yoju caused you. Sighting a Yoju was flying where Ashiro was, opening its mouth as a red light begun to form inside but before it could release the attack, Nakanoshima and her squad arrived, firing at its wing and forming a hole, making it collapse on the ground.

"Hoshina, are you good?" Looking at your side to see a panting Hoshina, he has his eyes open as he glared at the Honju, you could see exhaustion in his face and form but he still strive to move forward. "Yeah, I can still slice through it." He answered you and once again leap towards the Honju.

"Sorry we're late!" Ikaruga shouted, firing a barrage of bullets at the chest of the Honju. The creature roared at them. "Don't give it time to regenerate, guys!" Hoshina yelled, urgency clear in his voice. He leap into the air, executing a mid-air flip before plunging his blade deep into the Honju's flesh. With a powerful, sweeping motion, he sliced downward, carving through its body and continuing the cut all the way down to its feet.

Desperation lace his attacks as you try slicing the arm of the Honju, biting your lips as your blade could only jab into its side when the Honju dodge your attack. The fight with the Yoju earlier already drained your energy, and using your full combat power just help decreasing it as time fast by and you counted the minutes you have left before you are forced to unleash it.

Looking up, you see Hoshina face to face with the Honju as it lets out another deafening roar. He was being flung away by the creature, its massive jaws dangerously close to engulfing him. Ashiro had prepped her aim, starinf at the vulnerable core that beats just like a heart before fixing her posture.

Launching yourself once again for the nth time that night, you leap onto the Honju's arm, propelling yourself towards Hoshina. As you finally make contact with the vice-captain, he is perilously close to being devoured. Without a moment's hesitation, you wrap your arm around his waist and use the Honju's teeth as leverage to dive forward, pulling the both of you away from its sight.

"Hey, Kaiju. I told you that you messed with the wrong people." Hoshina stared at the Honju who looked back when it felt the energy of Ashiro's cannon, greenlight sparks around her as she uses her full combat power without any procedure to follow.

Your grip on Hoshina tightened as the two of you remained suspended in the air. "You don't get to say cool stuff like that when you're about to be eaten, idiot," you retorted, a chuckle escaping Hoshina's lips at your remark. Both of you watched as Ashiro's bullet pierced through the Honju's core with pinpoint precision. It roared loudly, reverberating through the walls of the training ground.

The impact was immediate and catastrophic. The Honju's head was violently severed from its body, and its torso exploded into multiple pieces, raining debris around you. As the two of you safely landed on the ground, you both shared a relieve look.

"The Honju is down!" Okonogi announced with happiness in her voice, her and everyone else was edge on their places when they can hear the chaos that ensued in the training ground.

"You owe me two." Flashing him a piece sign, he shook his head at you and was about to walk away but he stumbled on his feet. "You had overworked yourself once again, Hoshina." Putting his arm around your shoulder as a hand place around his waist, you had put your spear behind your back.

The two of you are quiet as you made your way towards Kikoru, who was sitting down with her axe in front of her. Once in front of her, Hoshina pulled out his hand and offer it to her. Kikoru looked up and saw the two of you smiling at her.

She grabbed his hand and stand up next to you. Hearing footsteps behind you, turning around to see Ashiro making her way towards your direction, her cannon was long discarded as her tiger walk beside her.

Your arm still around his waist, you three salutet at Ashiro and she reciprocated the action. Hoshina was all bloodied up, red liquid trickijg down his face, and yet, he still had the ability to say:

"Shinomiya, you go rest. The three of us will handle the remaining Yoju." But he received a head chop to Ashiro. "No, you go rest." She stated and took a good look at you two. "And you too, [Name]." You just gave her a nod and glance at the two platoon leaders who walk to you four.

"You too, Captain." Nakanoshima stated, waving her hand at her. "That's right. You only have 1% left until your suit overheats." You heard Okonogi's voice in your earpiece, Ashiro had used her cannon and fired high-powered shots.

"You fired a whole bunch of high-powered shots." Ikaruga pointed out, staring at Ashiro. "Leave the Yoju to us." The captain wave her hand at them, shaking her head as she speak, "No, I'm fine." You shake your head at her, fixing your hold onto Hoshina who glances at you.

"No, you're not. Rest." You firmly said, glancing at the vice captain that is in your hold. A hum left your lips when you noticed Bakko growling, her eyes scanned the area and she roared when she looked up. All of you are puzzled at her action and stared up at the sky, your heart drop upon seeing what it was.

Yoju were flying towards a glowing, red ball of energy that is already filled with the other Yoju that remains. They were forming a sort of bomb, and knowing the destructive power they hold, feeling it the first hand, you're sure that whatever and whoever it is that is in the perimeter, would be in grave danger.

"So that last scream wasn't a death rattle?" Hoshina muttered beside you, everyone is shock to see the glowing ball that the Yoju is creating by stucking and molding
