My cousin on my father's side's birthday is coming up soon, to be honest, me or my mother don't know the kid well but he is only 2 years younger then me so my mother slapped some money in my hand and sent me to Toontin shopping district to get a hopefully appreciated gift.

"What would a 13-year-old boy even like? Maybe like a book? No never mind he isn't 57" I mumbled to myself tapping my cheekbone with my index finger, a habit I picked up from my mother. As I continued to walk through the aisles of a shop I was ready to give up and get the kid a gift card when a sudden overwhelmingly loud explosions and crazed laughs erupted from right outside the kids' store I was inhabiting.

Mothers grabbed their kids and ran to the back of the store screaming, children cried and wailed some so shocked and terrified they couldn't muster to scream.

'Is this when I die? If I do, why? Even if it's not me why did some random bystander or hero die?'

I say in my head as I walk to the entrance of the store dodging the running parents and children I look out the doors and see a couple of pro heroes and one giant slime creature who I assume is the villain who is possessing some poor blonde teen around my age. Will he die? I question as I make a circle with my index finger and thumb and bring it up to my left eye, closing my right.

"Crow vision... show me all you've seen."

I always summon 1 crow (or if I'm lucky use an existing crow) to follow me around in public for safety and information reasons, with my quirk I can see all the crow has seen ever since it was born or created.

I get a vision of me walking into the store and shortly after the goop creature emerges from a soda bottle and captures the poor boy using his explosion quirk. I move my hand and look and the view in front of me unobstructed, noticing the villains struggling against the slime villain due to his semi-liquid body.

"YOU PICKED THE WRONG GUY TO MESS WITH, ILL SEND YOU TO THE SEWERS!!! LET ME GO!!!" The boy screamed, sensing that another highly destructive explosion was about to take place, I notice a large number of children, mothers, and fathers... All about to die or be hurt by some immature and panicked act of desperation both by the goop and the teenager, I did the only thing I could think of without getting arrested for unauthorized quirk usage.

'Now is not their time'
"Crow combination, 15 by 15 feet, defensive crow."

I made a bird-like symbol with my hand and got on one knee, suddenly a huge crow wrapped around me, and the families behind me taking the blow for us, 15 by 15 is as large as I can make a crow as of now I'm planning on attending UA to hopefully train it to be even larger. The large crow and huge amount of fallen feathers caught the eye of the wood hero as he saved the families and me, grabbing all of us tightly in branches and taking us to the group of onlookers behind the police.

Most of the parents and children approach me to thank me which I appreciate but I don't blame the ones who didn't their probably still processing what just happened. I continue to look at the scene in front of me curious about how this will play out, I couldn't help but absorb a couple of scratches and burns from the people I helped as they bowed to me and thanked me, planning to use it for self-defense if the villain tried to attack the bystanders.

'I wonder if shinigami are truly real? If so if this kid dies I wonder how one decided on that fate?'

Suddenly I see a green-haired teenager starting to run towards the goop.

'Is he gonna die too? It's foolish to run into danger like that!'

"Ryuk, baby."
"Yeah, momma?"
"When you can help people... you're a strong kid just like your father, help when you can."

My mother's voice ring in my head as I watch the kid throw his backpack at the villain stunning him, and then desperately clawing at the icky green substance that made up the villain's body.

'God dammit Momma, your wish has probably made so many shinigami hate me!'

Despite my slight annoyance at my determination to follow my mother's wish I show no emotion as I run up to the child hair boy as well hearing more heroes yelling as I run past them surprisingly fast, I was always very naturally athletic.

I get close enough to the boy with just enough time to block the villain on coming punch, the energy I got from the scabs and burns from earlier wasn't much but it was just enough to deflect the oncoming attack. I raise my hand palm toward the villain and let out the pure black beam send out toward his hands as soon as I do a feel a gush of wind behind me and my wrist he grabbed by a large hand.

I look up and see All Might in all his glory with his arm punched deep into the goo, he starts spewing something about morals to the green-haired kid, I didn't understand nor did I care I just wanted him to do his final punch so I can be set on my feet and get the hell out of here.

Finally, the freeing words were spoken.

"Detroit smash!!!" The intense wind from the punch sent me and 2 other boys in the air only grounded by All Might's grip on our wrists, my face hasn't changed the entire time, needing to keep my calm inside and out for my crows not to go feral, the most expression changed I had was closing my eyes when All might punched to avoid the uncomfortable feeling of wind in my eyeballs.

As soon as All might put us down I notice the boys beside me on the ground passed out and notice his punch changed the weather.

'Thanks for that All Might I love the rain'

I used the crowd's loudness to immediately run away not wanting to accept the lecture or possible fine for using my quirk and running into danger I heard faint murmurs of things similar to 'where did the crow kid go?' As I run away. As I got far away enough I pulled out my phone and AirPods wanting to listen to some music as soon as I opened my phone my heart dropped.

My momma called me 17 times... I hesitantly press the call back button and turn down my volume so her voice doesn't burst my AirPods speakers, I thought I would be greeted by yelling but instead, I'm greeted by wails and a wavering voice that made my heartbreak I hate making my mom cry.

"RYUK?! RYUK MY BABY OMG ARE YOU OKAY??? I SAW YOU ON THE NEWS I WAS SO SCARED!!"

"Yeah momma I'm okay! I'm sorry for making you worried I shouldn't have done that."

"No don't apologize! I'm proud of you for helping I was just scared when I didn't see you after All might arrived!"

We talked a bit more after that both agreed to get the gift tomorrow in another shopping district.

"Alright I'll be home soon Momma, love you"
"I love you more see you soon!"
