Snotlout's POV

I just finished my chief duties a week later and I was heading to the forge when I saw Gobber was already there. I was about to walk away when I heard Gobber called my name. Oh, Thor. "Snotlout! Come here! I wanted to talk to you!" With all of his words, I felt my spine shivering and my hands start sweating. I reached the forge and as I entered, Gobber made a serious look. "Explain," He said as he pointed at the weapons which were the ones I sharped as Hiccup did. "H-How..." I trilled, but Gobber placed his hand on my shoulder. "It's fine Lad," He said, making me confused. "Well, I saw you and Astrid the other day and I was impressed by your skills. But, tell me. Why don't you show it?" Gobber explained before asking. "I wanted to get out of the chief duties because I realized it was hard. And I felt guilty on picking on Hiccup when we're little," I said shamefully thinking about the past. "It's alright, Laddie. I must say, Hiccup would forgive you for your actions," He said. "Not yet," I warned making him confused. "He's out there somewhere. And I know it. Because he's not human," I said making him shocked but confused at the same time. "What do you mean?" Gobber asked. "You don't wanna know," I replied before leaving the forge. I quickly stopped by the docks and ask for a basket to fish for dinner. They agreed and they handed me one. I look around to make sure no one is following me to the woods.

I ventured my way to the cove and look around to make sure that Astrid was not around. Thank Valhalla, she's not here this time. I carefully sneak my way in with a basket in my hand and a piece of fish in the other. I walk slowly and carefully as I look around for Astrid's White Night Fury and make sure I don't have any weapons just in case it won't think I'm a threat. Suddenly, I heard a growl, and I was surprised to see the White Night Fury on the rock when I turn around. The dragon's eyes were slit and I nervously gave it the fish. She steps closer to smell the fish, and when she realized I'm not a threat, she instantly ate it. At first, the dragon would eat me for no reason, but as soon as it realizes I'm not dangerous, the dragon trusted me. Once the dragon's done eating, it steps closer to me. I hold my hand to reach her, but she flinched. Then I remembered Hiccup's tricks from my dreams. I looked away handing out my hand towards the dragon. I thought the dragon would eat my hand at first, but as soon as I felt scales on my palm, I looked to see the White Night Fury's snout on my hands. When the dragon stepped back, it starts to lick me and I was tickled by that. When it finished, I dropped the basket, revealing the fish on the ground before eating them properly. Properly? "Snotlout?" I jumped back when I heard a voice, and I realized it was Astrid holding something white in her arms. She looked behind me to see what I did to the White Night Fury before giving me a confusing look. "How did..." Astrid trilled off. "I kinda dreamed about Hiccup befriending the Night Fury. So, I gained this Night Fury's trust," I explained. "Uh, she's a Light Fury," Astrid corrected making me confused. "Luna is called the Light Fury. And she's a girl," She said petting the dragon already known as the Light Fury 'Luna.' "Astrid, I'm sorry I flirt with you before. Even though you're beautiful and aggressive, I realized that personality and believing are the answer to love and friendship. Like the time you were playing with Hiccup when we were little," I said hanging my head low with guilt. For a few moments, Astrid pulled me to a hug and I hugged her back. "It's fine, Snotlout. Whether you made a mistake, you can still change," Astrid said as Luna joined the hug to comfort me more.

Astrid's POV

I am very glad that Snotlout apologized to me for his guiltiness. As long as he never hurt a dragon, I would forgive him for sure. As soon as we pulled apart, I walked back to get the saddle I secretly made for Luna. It was blending in with her scales. "What's that, Astrid?" Snotlout asked. "I made a saddle for Luna," I answered and he understand. When I looked at Luna, she was frightened and ran off to prevent wearing it. I technically chased her for a few hours as Snotlout watches us on a boulder laughing at the moment. I finally managed to put the saddle on her, and I mounted her. "Take an easy, girl," I said to Luna, then we take a test drive. After a few hours, Luna and I landed back at the cove, and we see Snotlout dropping the basket of fish for Luna to eat. "How's the flight?" Snotlout asked. "That was amazing. I never even think of that I can touch the clouds," I said as we could hear Luna eating. "Well, I'm glad that you're happy now. Anyway, we should head back," He said. "I agree," I replied before turning to Luna who is still eating as Snotlout grabs the basket. "I'll see you tomorrow, Luna," I said to her and she snuggled me for responding and Snotlout and I left the cove.

Nightfall came, and I walked into the Great Hall where I find the gang at the table. I could see the twins went in a food fight again, and I could see Snotlout hanging out with Fishlegs with the Book of Dragons on their hands. I was glad to see Snotlout changed for the better. It wasn't long until Gobber came at us holding a book. "Okay, Lads. I know you guys would be boring to this, but this would understand where did the Night Furies get their names," Gobber said and we look at him curiously and excitedly for Fishlegs. "What is that book anyway?" Tuffnut asked. "Well, I got this book from Astrid's mother and she asked me to read this to you Lads. Including you, Astrid," Gobber said making me confused about what he means. "So, what is it called?" Fishlegs asked. "It's called, 'Dragonwalkers,'" Gobber answered. "Dragonwalkers?" Snotlout asked non-sarcastically. "Yep! Here, let me read it to you," Gobber replied before opening the book.

"Long ago, in the air beyond the clouds, on a mysterious invention nobody never knew before called an airship, there was a man who lives there with his inventions and tradings. His name is Night Terror Fury the Protector."

"Night Terror Fury? So that's where the Night Fury's name comes from?" Ruffnut asked. "Yes, Lass. He's responsible for naming them," Gobber said. "Why he was called the Protector?" I asked, and that's when he proceeds.

"One day, he discovered an unexpected event that he finds. From what he saw was a ghost town village inhabited by Night Furies. He managed to sneak past through the village to the forest where he found the villagers in the caverns. Just as he's getting the victims to escape. The leader of the Night Furies came in making the victims afraid."

"What happened next?" Snotlout asked. "I bet the leader ate that Night Terror Fury first," Tuffnut commented receiving a punch from his sister.

"Night disarmed any weapons he had made the victims curious yet scared about what he was doing. As Night approaches it, the leader flinched meaning the dragon is still not trusting him. The next thing he did, he looked away as he handed out his hand towards the dragon. The victims thought he was crazy and thinking that the dragon would eat his hand off of him. But the truth, they misunderstood once they saw the dragon places its snout at Night's palm."

I was surprised to hear that word. I look at Snotlout and he knows what I was thinking.

"This is when they realize that Night tamed his first Night Fury. A month passed, after the village and the Night Furies become friends, Night decided to find a new home for the people he found since their old village was wrecked. Night helped the village to set in on his airship in exchange for the village to help him upgrading the ship big enough for them to ride."

"Afterwards, they sailed in the sky as dragons do?" Fishlegs asked. "Indeed, Fishlegs. Most villagers and children decided to fly on the Night Furies instead," Gobber answered. "Cool! Riding on a dragon!" The twins said with their hands in the air.

"They took two days sailing until they found the right home for them. The island they landed on was higher as the trees reach the clouds, and it has waterfalls beyond the cliff. It was very clear that the village made their decision for Night to become their new leader since their last leader died in the raids."

"And did he agreed?" I asked. "Not yet, but soon as he discovered something hidden according to the myth the Vikings has never seen," Gobber said.

"Night on his new Night Fury dragon flew to the end of the world to find and discover the Hidden World which was inhabited with dragons away from the outside world for their safety. When he adventured there, he collected crystal samples and plants that are hidden in the pillared caverns. Once he's done exploring the Hidden World, he headed back to his new village and examine the ingredients he newly found before he made an idea for those hidden artifacts."

"Is he's probably gonna make a new cooking recipe for the village?" Tuffnut joked then Snotlout glared at him. "What's the matter with you, Snot?" He asked frightened by Snotlout's action, and Snotlout refuses to answer.

"Night decided to make a curse in a bottle that will turn from a Viking to a Dragon Hybrid by day and Sleepwalking Dragon by night. But, he never accomplishes it without a type of dragon scale. When he announced the curse to his people, they want it and made up their minds. As for Night, he called the curse 'Dragonwalker Bite,' and for his people, he agrees to be their alpha or king, and he named his tribe after his name. And that's where the legend goes on. Night Fury I. Protector of the Night Furies. And founder of the Dragonwalkers."

By Gobber finishing the story, Snotlout, Fishlegs, and I was amazed at the story while the twins suddenly fell asleep at the end. I was now daydreaming about the truth my mom showed me as I hold my breath before anything else. "That was amazing," Fishlegs spoke up breaking the silence as I realized that we are the last ones in the Great Hall. "Heh, never thought about that man becoming a legend," Snotlout said acting so we won't get suspicious. "Well, I guess we should head back home to bed since we are the last ones in here," Gobber said as the twins woke up from their slumber. We left the Great Hall afterward when I felt something on my shoulder, and I realized it was Snotlout when I turned around. "This is gonna be too far for you, Astrid. Be careful," Snotlout said worryingly and left. I was confused about what he meant until I realized that he's worrying me about the blood in my body since Snotlout looked at my earrings. He knows I'm one, and I understand what would happen soon when something bad will happen.
