"NOT MY FAULT MY HAIR IS TOO LONG! "

"THEN CUT IT! "

"NO IT'S TOO PRECIOUS! I KEPT THIS PRECIOUS LONG HAIR FOR HUNDREDS OF YEARS AND NOW I NEED TO CUT IT?!? "

"YOU GAVE ME NO CHOICE!JUST CUT IT. IT'S NOT A BIG DEAL"

"NOOOOO! "

"Ah... So that's what happened..."

Ever since Sanemi bought Hayami to the butterfly estate to get examined, she became inseparable with Kanae since she gave her a motherly aura. Somehow, Kanae reminds her of someone. But she couldn't remember who.

"Mhm.. He's such a meanie! Once he tried to cut my hair in my sweep! " Hayami tattled.

"Maybe you can try to tie your hair. " Kanae spoke as she rummage her hand inside the drawer. Then, she put on butterfly hairclip on her hair

"How do you think? " Kanae ask as she handed a mirror to Hayami

Hayami was stunned. The maroon butterfly hairclip really suit her. Her lips turned into a wide smile as she hugged Kanae tightly

"It's butiful! Thank you! "

Ah yes... Did I forgot to mention that Hayami has a slight problem on spelling? Kanae did taught her how to spell some words too! That's why she loves her and Kanae adores her.

"It's 'beautiful' Hayami. And no problem! " Kanae smiled as she headpatted Hayami.

Suddenly, a crow came landing on the window and spoke

"Caw! Mission at southern east! Lots of woman has gone missing there caw!"

"My... That's bad.. Well I gotta go Hayami..goodbye!" Kanae spoke as she waved her hand goodbye

"Bye bye! See ya ater!" Hayami smiled

After Kanae left the butterfly estate, Hayami too left. She skipped happily while humming as she on her way to her house

"I'm homeeeee~" Hayami beamed as she headed to the living room

"You're home early... " Sanemi spoke as he sat on the engawa

"Kanae has to go on a mission so I came home" Hayami spoke as she suited herself in the corner of the room since she can't go out to the sun

"Is that so huh... What's that in your hair? "

"Oh, it's a hair clip Kanae gave me earlier! It's so pretty I feel like wanna wear it forever! " Hayami squealed

"Do what you want... " Sanemi muttered as he stand up and went to who knows where. Not like she cares

'Eh, anyway, I'm gonna get a nap. I'm reaaallyy tired' Hayami thought to herself. Afternoon nap was really her routine

As she got onto her room, she was met by her slightly messy room. Not that she cares anyway. She didn't clean the place she stay at the forest nor herself for hundreds years so why need to clean her room too? She thought

She plopped onto her futon as she sunk herself at the mattress. she heave a peaceful sigh before closing her eyes. Soon,only snores was heard inside the room.

Sanemi was sipping on his tea as he sat on the engawa, it's been months since Masachika's death, the worst part is Genya also joining the corps. It's a very dangerous job so of course he's worried, wanting him to do nothing but marry, having kids and die as a old geezer, that's all he could ever ask.

Recently, Sanemi has taken a liking to Kanae because of her motherly figure. So, he was waiting for her return.

Suddenly, a crow came towards him and land besides him. It was Kanae's crow. It look really anxious.

"What do you want? Is Kanae returned yet? "

"Uh.. Uhmm.. " the crow stutter.
"K-kanae Kocho.. The flower hashira... Has been killed... "

Silence.

Suddenly Sanemi heard a sob behind him. He turned around to see Hayami still wrapped in a blanket. Her lips trembled as her eyes watered

"K-kanae's dead?... " hayami sobbed. "B-but she promised when she come back she will bring me to the flower field this night... "

Months has passed,
Ever since kanae is dead hayami never wore back the hair clip kanae gave her since it meant so much to her. Knowing how much reckless she is, she won't take the risk of breaking it.

Sanemi too was kinda worried. Hayami has been eating less and less to the point she didn't eat anything.

Today, Sanemi got another mission, so he had to left Hayami alone in the house. Not like she cares anyway

The sun has almost down. That means the demons will do their job in a few minutes.

He was walking through a small village, he looked around the village, nothing seems interesting to him. Till, he found something that perks his eyes

A scarlet red ribbon.

It kinda reminds him of Hayami's haori. Though her haori is red Vermilion, it's still red for him

"Oh hello, would you like to buy something? " a middle aged woman ask him

Sanemi pointed to the ribbon.
"I want that one. "

"Oh sure! It's 1500 yen! "

Sanemi pay for the accessory and head out to continue his mission

*timeskip to tomorrow

After his mission, he remember that Hayami wanted to go to a flower field so bad. So he thought why not bring her tonight? He's off duty tomorrow anyway

He arrived to his estate, he take off his sandals, shoes, whatever you called that

"I'm home" Sanemi muttered.

"Welcome home... " Hayami spoke slightly as she peeked out her head through the living room

"Okay cut the crap. I can't take it anymore. We're going out tonight. "

"To where? "

"Just follow me damnit. "

Hayami don't know what his intention is. So she just nodded

After the sun set, they both got out of the house. Sanemi bring a sword with him in case something happen.

"So... Where are we going? "

"Didn't I already told you earlier? "

Few minutes later they both arrived at the destination. Hayami eyes widen as her eyes shone with light.

The destination is the flower field where Hayami really wanted to go.

"Woah..."

"You're really down ever since Kanae's passing, so I thought this might cheer you up a bit.. " sanemi spoke as his eyes look anywhere but Hayami.

Suddenly he felt someone hugging him. It was Hayami. Not in her child form but on her normal form as she smiles warmly.

"Thank you...thank you so much"

Sanemi were about to talk. he paused. Then he opened his mouth again

"I also got something for you... Turn around"

Hayami turn around as Sanemi pulled out the red ribbon he bought earlier.

"There. That's better. "

Hayami look at the ribbon. It matches with her haori.

"T-thank you... I appreciate it.. "

second, I don't like how this chapter end. Kinda cringe but that's all my idiot brain could think of, so bear with me.
