"Ani-" as arwan was going to say he got interrupted by a voice and that was of his love rival "Aksh" Anika said and stood up "finally you are back" she said and was going to hug him but arwan cam and hug him instead and gave a fake smile, "What the fuck you are going here" aksh said in anger "wapas use todne aaye ho huh"

"Phle ye batao tum yaha kya kr rahe ho!?" Arwan question on his presence there, "he is my bestfriend arwan aur tumare jane je baad isi ne sambhal tha mujhe, isi ne mujhe support diya hamesha" Anika said defensively, the warmth in her voice for Aksh was evident.

"Ab tum batao ge tum yaha kya kr rae ho aur kyu aaye ho?" Aksh ask arwan, his tone filled with suspicion and anger.

Arwan took a deep breath, "I came here to hand over some important documents regarding the highway project, an the new rules and regulations you're implementing for traffic control. It's impressive work, CM Madam," he said, looking at Anika with a mix of admiration and regret.

Aksh shot him a glare, "Is that all?" he said, his arms crossed over his chest.

"Alright Mr. Raghuvanshi you can leave thank you for the documents," Anika said, her tone firm, as she gestured towards the door.

Arwan handed over the documents and took a step back, his eyes never leaving hers. "No problem ani- mam"

Arwan left

"Why he was here anika, i know it's not about work" aksh asked Anika in a low voice after arwan left.

Anika took a deep breath, "he was here to talk to me he said it is very important he want to clear things," she replied, her eyes avoiding his.

Aksh nodded, "anika i know which kind of past you two had, but now you are Chief Minister and he is just an officer, keep that in mind and remember how he hurted you how he cheated on you how he played with your feelings there is nothing to litsin now," he said, his voice filled with concern.

Anika nodded, "I know Aksh, i have moved on, i have to for my work, for my people," she said, her voice wavering slightly.

"Are you sure you moved on?

Anika looked at Aksh, her eyes welling up with tears. "I've tried, Aksh. I really have. But seeing him again, it's like all those feelings are rushing back," she whispered, her hand trembling as she held onto the edge of her desk for support.

"Anika abhi inn sab pe dhyan mt do kl tumhe assembly attend krni h mhm, chalo abhi kuch kha kr aate h," Aksh said, trying to lighten the mood as he noticed her distress.

"Aaj ki assembly start krne se phle m hamari nai CM anika Chauhan ji ko mubarakbad deti hu sadan ke iss phke session m unka sawagat h" speaker mam Anika ka welcome krti h

*Clapping*

"Thankyou madam speaker, my dear colleague and honourable members thanks to all" anika sat back on her place and the assembly starts.

"The leader of the opposite party Mr gulshan rao" speaker mam said, he stands up on his place and and said "I don't know speaker madam if the gov or the CM madam remember or not that this is a democratic country, she thinks she is queen, mam government's work is to protect public, unke dukh dur krna, not to impose fine like this, this is not the way to control traffic, ase to ye janta ko mar hi dalengi *chuckle* .

Somone from anika's party "ye baate aapke aue aapki party ke mu se acchi nhi lagti, sab dekh rahe h ki auto se leke sabzi mandi tk kesi loot macha rakhi h aapk logo ne, aapne logo ne janta ko diya hi kya h"

Somone from opposition "shut up! Speaker mam inka ishara meri tarf h,Bakwas kr rahe h ye"

"Mr. Raddy please baith jaiye" speaker madam said, trying to maintain order.

"Madam agr ye apni baat wapas nhi lenge to hum chale jayenge" Mr raddy said

"Aree to jao na, roka kisne h" one from anika's party said.

Everyone started to throw words at each other like stone, and speaker madam was telling everyone to sit and to maintain silence but no one was ready to litsin. Anika was watching everything from her place.

Finally everyone settle down and speaker madam said "gulshan rao ji aap apni baat puri kijiye"

"Mere ilake me m ek software engineer ko janta hu, har subha wo apne baccho ko school chhod kr fir office jata h, office late pahuche to problem hogi isliye vo short cut leke one way se office pahuchta h, police use pakad leti h aur 25000 ka fine laga deti h ase m aap hi bataiye vo insan apne pariwar ka kharcha kese chalayega, me chahunga sarkar iska jawab de"

"Leader of the house jawab dengi" speaker madam said, looking towards Anika. Anika took a deep breath, her heart racing as she stood up to address the assembly.

"Thankyou madam speaker jo kuch bhi opposition leader ne kaha mene sab suna"

"Han to congratulations" somone from behind said sarcasm in their tone, "ek min sunege please" she continued " traffic rules m lagaye jane wale jurmare ko leker log bahut pareshan h jesa ki inhone bataya, iska ek bahut hi simple solution h madam, no one needs to compensate if they follow the rules, keep your salary to yourself, bajao tali" everyone clapped,  she signal them to stop.

" Aapne abhi abhi kisi engineer ki, usne wrong way m entry ki to compansate to krna padega na, aur abhi to sirf salary gai jo ki kharche kam krke manage kiya ja skta h but agr wrong way se jane pe kis gadi ne takkr mar di hoti to fir ye sawal kada hota ki ab uska pariwar zindagi bhar kya krega, logo ne hume sadan m beja h taki hum kuch accha kare naki unki galtiyo pe parda dalte rahe, jab mere papa ka dehhant hua tha tab m London se yaha do hafto ke liye aai thi, aane ke baad jab m yaha ghoomi to dekha yaha ke logo m zimedari naam ki koi cheez nhi h 1% ki bhi nhi mam And they have no idea about their responsibilities and that's what i want to do madam speaker!! jaha m 4 saal rahi hu waha ke logo me sarkar ke prati dar aur zimmedari dono h, they are accountable and they made there life beautiful and here people can't even keep there country clean, kuch bhi kahi bhi fenk dete h, kisi cheez m quality nhi h bina dar ke nakli cheezo ka production hota ja raha h, that's a thing to be amazed on, this kind of system work in a country jiski population itne zada h, dont you think the system is responsible for this?"

"Madam ye hamari bezzati kr rahi h, inhe kya pata hamare desh m kitni problem h, do din to india aaye hue h inhe inki baat ko recording se nikal dena chaiye madam" Mr raddy said opposing anika

"These are the facts madam speaker!! Inn baato ko record m rakah jaye!!"

Speaker madam nodded. Raddy sat down.

"Iss samaj m rhne ke liye zaroori h dar, aur zimmedari, im not going to stop on fines only madam there are so many more things im going to do, kisi bhi kaam ko krne ke liye guidelines aur rules banaye jayenge , and everyone have to follow them, from a common man to a minister, nobody is above law!" Anika's voice echoed in the assembly, leaving no room for doubt or argument.

" Ab agr sabke doubt Clear ho gye h to may i have your permission to leave madam speaker"

Anika leave the assembly.

────

Anika said in her mind "i will bring change, i will do everything for public and their well being, the aim of my life is to serve them, i will not let anyone spoil it."

As she walked out of the assembly hall, the murmurs of the members slowly fading away, Anika felt a hand on her shoulder. She turned to find Arwan, his eyes filled with a mix of admiration and regret. "You've changed," he said softly, "You've become so strong."

"Why you are here," she demanded, keeping her voice low but firm.

Arwan hesitated, "I know I don't deserve it, but I want to apologize, Anika. I know I hurt you and I regret every moment of it. I want to make amends," he said, his eyes searching hers for any trace of forgiveness.

"Don't you dare to call me by my name again Mr. Raghuvanshi, and secondly im on duty i have so many works to do so please" she said with a straight face, trying to hide her emotions. And left.

────

since that day anika engluf her more in her work, she knew that the change she had to bring would not come without a fight. She started her day early in the morning with a meeting with her core team and discussed various issues of the state.

In her next assembly meeting she announced that budget that will be spent on country will be in front of public they will give account of every penny, she gave warning to all the contractor who work for gov or pvt, public have right to know about every contract, no matter it is of 100 or 10000 crore.

Her next target was police and police stations. She knew the condition of police stations and she knew that she had to do something. She decided to visit them unannounced.

────

Her first stop was the local police station in the heart of the city. The moment she walked in, the constables and officers snapped to attention, surprised by the sudden visit of the Chief Minister herself. The station was in shambles, with files and paperwork scattered across the desks, the smell of stale cigarette smoke lingering in the air.

"What is this?" Anika asked, her voice filled with disappointment. "Is this how you serve the public?"

The senior inspector, caught off guard, stuttered, "Ma'am, we're doing our best with the limited resources-"

"I don't want excuses, I want action!" Anika interrupted sharply, her eyes scanning the room, looking for something she could change. "I will ensure that funds are allocated for the betterment of these stations and for the welfare of our officers, but in return, I expect discipline, dedication, and a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption!"

The senior inspector nodded, sweat beads forming on his forehead. He knew that she meant business. "Ma'am, we will do our best to improve," he assured her, his voice shaking slightly.

Anika's eyes narrowed, "I don't want your 'best'. I want results. You have one month to clean up this place and show me a report of the changes made," she said, her tone leaving no room for negotiation. She handed him a piece of paper with her personal email address scribbled on it. "Send me a weekly update. I will be watching."

────

The inspector nodded vigorously, and she turned to leave, her entourage following closely behind. As she stepped out of the station, the cool breeze was a welcome relief from the stifling heat inside. Aksh approached her, his face a mask of concern. "Anika, are you okay? You've been pushing yourself so hard lately," he said, placing a hand on her shoulder.

"I have to," she replied, her voice firm. "Our people deserve better. We can't let them down."

The next few weeks were a whirlwind of activity as Anika tirelessly worked on implementing her new policies. She often found herself working late into the night, her eyes strained from reading through endless documents and her voice hoarse from the countless meetings she had with officials. Yet, she never lost her resolve. Each challenge that came her way only fueled her determination to bring change.

Her unannounced visits to various government offices and police stations had sent shockwaves through the system. Suddenly, everyone was on their toes, eager to impress the new Chief Minister who had made it clear that she would not tolerate inefficiency. The changes were slow, but they were coming. The public started to take notice, and whispers of a new era began to circulate among the people.
