She blinked her eyes open, feeling the rough ground beneath her. Confusion washed over her as her mind slowly came into focus.

There was nothing but darkness, thick and oppressive, surrounding her like a suffocating blanket. Trees loomed overhead, their gnarled branches twisted together in a skeletal web that blocked out the sky. A low mist curled along the ground, and the air smelled damp, metallic. Something was very, very wrong.

"Are you okay?" Cas snapped her out of her shocked trance, she nodded small muttering a small "yeah" She shifted, her movements slow and cautious, and immediately felt her dad's familiar presence beside her. Her dad was still out cold, lying in the dirt just a few feet away, his brow furrowed even in sleep. Jovi's heart pounded in her chest as she shook his arm, her small hands trembling.

"Dad? Dad!" she whispered, but her voice was swallowed by the eerie silence around them. "Wake up" Cas added in his usual monotone voice which seemed to work as Dean's eyes snapped open, confusion flashing across his face as he sat up quickly, his instincts sharp even in the fog of sleep. His eyes darted around, taking in their surroundings, before landing on Jovi and Castiel. He looked his daughter taking in her distressed and worried expression, but before he could even ask if she was okay Cas was talking once more

"Good. We need to get out of here." He declared looking out into the distance while Dean stood up taking on their surroundings "Where are we?"

Cas looked at them narrowing his eyes at them "You don't know?"

"Do we look like we know?" Jovi sassed sticking close to her father's side hating the feelings that was rising in her just being in this place, her skin was starting to crawl.

"Last I remember, we ganked Dick." Dean responded before Cas and Jovi could start a petty argument "And where would he go in death?" Cas responded which caused both Jovi and Dean to share a look of realisation, Jovi's whole heart dropped.

Dean's face hardened immediately. "Wait. Are you telling me...?" His voice dropped, a mixture of disbelief and dread creeping into it.

Jovi swallowed hard, her chest tightening with fear. She had heard stories about Purgatoryโ€”about the monsters, the never-ending darkness, the endless hunt. But hearing about it and being in it were two different things. She clenched her fists, trying to steady her racing heart.

"Every soul here is a monster." a sound tore through the heavy silence โ€” a low, guttural growl from deep within the trees. It was followed by another, and another, the unmistakable sound of something big and dangerous moving through the underbrush. "This is where they come to prey upon each other for all eternity."

Jovi's breath hitched, and she pressed closer to her dad, her heart thundering in her chest.

"We're in Purgatory? How do we get out?" Dean questioned putting a hand on Jovi's shoulder keeping her close, he could practically feel the unease radiating off of her.

"I'm afraid we're much more likely to be ripped to shreds." Cas answered barely any emotion in his voice which made the young girls eyes widen, she looked up at her dad hoping to see some sort of hope in his eyes but his gaze was locked onto the trees behind them. She turned hearing more rustling come from behind them, she spotted movement in the bushes which automatically set her powers off, her eyes lighting up a sapphire blue.

"Cas, I think we better โ€“"

They both turned spotting Cas now missing, disbelief filled Jovi as her lips parted looking around for the angel. Had he really abandoned them? In this place of all places?! Jovi could feel a panic attack threatening to rise.

"Cas?" Dean called out looking around the dark, desolate forest hearing the rustling of the watching monsters.

But as Jovi's fear rose, something else inside her began to stir โ€” something wild, powerful. Something she could barely control.

Her powers.

Ever since she was little, strange things had happened when she got scared or angry. Her powers would flare up โ€”blue energy crackling around her hands, sometimes erupting in bursts she couldn't explain. Her dad and Sam had spent years trying to help her control it, but here, in the darkness of Purgatory, with the threat of monsters closing in, that control was slipping fast.

Her fingers twitched, and a flicker of blue energy sparked at her fingertips, like a tiny flame igniting. Her pulse quickened, and the light grew brighter, spreading across her hands.

Dean noticed immediately. "Hey, heyโ€”Jovi, look at me," he said, crouching down to her level, his voice steady but urgent. "You gotta stay calm, okay? Don't let it get away from you."

Jovi nodded, but it was hard โ€” so hard. The energy inside her was building, swirling like a storm, reacting to her fear. She could feel it in her chest, buzzing, itching to break free.

Another growl sounded, this one closer, followed by the sharp snap of branches breaking under heavy footsteps. The shadows between the trees began to take shape โ€” hulking figures with glowing eyes, their teeth bared and dripping with hunger.

Jovi's hands shook, and the blue light around them flared, brighter this time, illuminating the dark forest. She could hear her heartbeat in her ears, feel the electric charge building in the air. Her fear was feeding it, making it stronger.

Dean's hand gripped her shoulder. "Jovi, listen to me," he said, his voice low and urgent. "I need you to focus. I know you're scared, but you can control this. You've got this."

But the monsters were getting closer, their growls filling the air, the scent of blood and death thickening. The fear was too much. It tipped the balance.

Before Jovi could stop it, the energy inside her exploded outward. Blue light erupted from her hands in a violent surge, like a wave of raw power. The trees around them bent, and the ground beneath their feet rumbled. The light shot out into the darkness, illuminating the monstrous figures emerging from the shadows. It slammed into them with a force that sent them crashing back into the trees.

Dean shielded his eyes from the blast, his grip on Jovi tightening as he watched the display of raw power rip through the forest.

Jovi's breath came in sharp, ragged gasps as the energy continued to surge through her, unstoppable, like a flood that had burst through a dam. She couldn't rein it in, couldn't stop it. It was too much, too fast.

"Dad, Iโ€”" she gasped, her voice shaking as the blue light crackled around her. "I can'tโ€”"

Dean was beside her in an instant, kneeling down and pulling her into a tight hug. "You're okay, Angel. I'm right here. You're okay."

The sound of his voice, his steady presence, helped anchor her. Little by little, the blue energy began to fade, the light dimming until it was just a faint flicker on her fingertips. Her breath slowly evened out, and the buzzing in her chest quieted.

When the light was gone, and the forest around them had fallen silent once more, Jovi sagged against her dad, exhausted.

"You did good," Dean said softly, stroking her hair. "You're strong, kid. Stronger than you know."

Jovi looked up at him, her eyes wide and filled with a mixture of fear and relief. "I didn't mean toโ€”I couldn't stop it."

"I know," Dean reassured her. "But you did stop it. You're okay. We're okay. Let's get the hell out of here."

Jovi nodded, her heart still racing, but she felt steadier now. She wasn't sure how they were going to get out of Purgatory, but with her dad beside her, she knew one thing for sure:

They were going to fight their way out. Together.

with danger. Every breath felt like a reminder that survival was never guaranteed here, not for a hunter, not even for Dean, who had been through more than most. And now, not for his daughter.

Jovi had changed over the days they'd spent trapped in this hellish landscape. The once-nervous flickers of blue energy at her fingertips had grown stronger, more controlledโ€”but with that control came something else, something darker. It wasn't just fear driving her anymore; it was survival. Ruthless survival.

Jovi moved through the dense forest with a cold focus, her senses sharp. The sound of leaves crunching underfoot, the faint growl of something stalking nearby, the wind whispering through the twisted branchesโ€”it all blurred into the background as her powers hummed beneath her skin, ready to spring forth. She had to be on guard every second. There were no second chances in Purgatory, and she couldn't afford to be weak. Not here.

Dean was just a few paces ahead of her, his homemade machete gripped tight in his hand. His eyes constantly scanned the trees, his movements tense but efficient. He was a hunter through and through, even in a place like this. But Jovi could see itโ€”the weariness creeping in around the edges. Purgatory had a way of draining people, body and soul.

The low growl that echoed through the trees made them both freeze. Dean's hand shot up in a silent command for her to stop. Jovi stilled, her breath shallow, her powers instinctively flaring, a faint blue glow at her fingertips.

Dean motioned toward the trees ahead, where shadows shifted unnaturally in the gloom. "Vampire," he whispered, his voice barely audible, but Jovi could hear the tension in it.

She nodded, her eyes narrowing as she focused on the spot where the sound had come from. She could feel it now, that familiar tingle of something monstrous nearby. The vampire was hunting them, closing in fast.

The air grew colder, and the shadows seemed to deepen. Jovi flexed her fingers, feeling the power coursing through her. This wasn't the time for hesitation. The old Jovi might've hesitated, might've been afraid of what her powers could do, but not anymore. Not after everything she'd seen, everything she'd done.

Dean crouched low, his eyes locked on the trees ahead. "We take it fast," he whispered, his tone all business. "No messing around."

But before they could make a move, the vampire struck.

It came out of nowhere, a blur of speed and claws, crashing through the trees and knocking Dean to the ground in one swift motion. He grunted, the wind knocked out of him, but he managed to slash at the vampire's arm with his machete, drawing a hiss of pain from the creature.

Jovi's heart leaped into her throat as she watched her dad struggle under the weight of the vampire. For a split second, fear seized herโ€”but then something darker took over.

Without thinking, she raised her hand, and a surge of blue energy erupted from her palm, crackling through the air like lightning. The energy slammed into the vampire, sending it flying off her dad and crashing into a tree with a sickening thud.

The vampire snarled, its fangs bared, but it didn't have time to recover. Jovi's eyes blazed with cold determination as she stepped forward, her hands glowing with power. She didn't wait for the creature to lunge againโ€”she struck first. Another pulse of energy shot from her hands, hitting the vampire square in the chest. This time, the force of it was enough to send it sprawling, its body contorting in pain as the blue energy crackled over its skin.

Dean scrambled to his feet, wiping blood from the corner of his mouth, his eyes wide as he looked at Jovi. "Damn, kid."

But Jovi wasn't done. She wasn't letting the vampire get up. Her powers flared again, the blue energy swirling in the air around her like a storm. She stepped closer to the vampire, her expression hard, ruthless.

"Stay down," she muttered, her voice cold and steady.

The vampire hissed, its eyes glowing with hunger and hatred. It tried to lunge at her, but Jovi wasn't having it. She raised both hands this time, and with a sharp flick of her wrists, twin blasts of blue energy shot forward, slamming into the vampire from both sides. The creature let out a bloodcurdling scream as the energy tore through it, burning it from the inside out.

In a matter of seconds, the vampire crumpled to the ground, lifeless, its body smoking.

Jovi stood over it, breathing hard, her hands still glowing faintly with the remnants of her power. She could feel the rush of it, the sheer strength of what she'd just done. And for a moment, she didn't feel scared or worried about losing controlโ€”she felt powerful. In control. Unstoppable.

Dean approached her slowly, his expression unreadable as he looked at the smoldering remains of the vampire, then back at her. There was something in his eyes, a mix of pride and concern. He was still adjusting to her powers and it felt like they were learning something new about them everyday, killing a vampire from inside out changed what they knew about how to kill the creatures but to Jovi it just presented how powerful her abilities really were. He wiped the sweat from his brow, sheathing his machete.

"Hell of a save, kiddo," he said, his voice low. "You alright?"

Jovi nodded, her gaze still fixed on the vampire's corpse. "Yeah," she said quietly, though the cold edge in her voice hadn't faded. "I'm fine."

Dean studied her for a moment, his jaw tightening. He could see the change in her, even if she couldn't. The way she stood, the way her powers seemed to come so easily now. He knew what Purgatory did to peopleโ€”it hardened them, stripped away the softness, left only what was necessary to survive. And he could see it happening to her.

But he also knew better than to push. This wasn't the time or place for a heart-to-heart.

"Come on," he said, nodding toward the path ahead. "We need to keep moving. More of them will be coming."

Jovi followed him without a word, her mind still buzzing from the rush of using her powers. She had saved her dadโ€”again. But more than that, she had proven to herself that she could do this. That she could survive in this place, no matter how dark or dangerous it got.

She glanced at Dean as they moved through the trees, his figure steady and sure, always moving forward, always fighting. He had taught her everything she knew about surviving, about fighting, about never giving up. But now, with her powers growing stronger, Jovi knew she was becoming something elseโ€”something even more dangerous than a hunter.

She was becoming someone who wouldn't just survive Purgatory. She would master it.

And nothingโ€”no monster, no vampire, no nightmare lurking in the darkโ€”was going to stop her from getting her dad out of this place alive.

Not as long as she had her powers.

Not as long as she had the fire that had always burned deep inside her.

the low growls of the werewolf echoing off the craggy rock formations surrounding them. Dean gripped his silver machete tightly, his eyes darting between the shadows, every muscle in his body primed for the fight. Beside him, Jovi crouched low, her hands crackling with faint traces of blue energy as they both waited for the creature to make its move.

This werewolf had been on them for hours, weaving through the dense forest and jagged terrain of Purgatory. It was fast, cunning, and dangerousโ€”exactly the kind of thing that thrived in this hellish landscape. But now, they had it cornered.

Dean's voice was low, barely a whisper. "Stay sharp, sweetheart. This one's big."

Jovi nodded, her eyes narrowing as she scanned the area. She could feel the werewolf's presence, the cold, animalistic rage radiating from the shadows. Her powers flared up slightly in response, instinctively reacting to the threat.

Suddenly, the werewolf lunged out from behind a large boulder, a blur of claws and teeth. Jovi's powers erupted in her hands, blue energy shooting forward as she dodged to the side, barely avoiding the creature's swipe. Dean swung his machete in a wide arc, aiming for its neck, but the werewolf was too fast. It ducked under his strike and lashed out with its claws, forcing Dean to roll out of the way.

The fight was brutal and fast. Dean was holding his own, but Jovi could feel the beast's raw strengthโ€”it was stronger than any werewolf they'd fought topside. The monster was relentless, its claws flashing in the dim light as it lunged again, this time at her.

Jovi raised her hands, blue light bursting forth as she sent a blast of energy toward the werewolf. The force of it sent the creature stumbling back, but it recovered quickly, growling in fury. She was about to strike again when the werewolf did something she hadn't expectedโ€”it feinted, darting to the side before lunging straight for her legs.

The move caught her off guard. Before she could react, the werewolf's claws slashed across her thigh, ripping through her pants and tearing deep into her flesh. Jovi cried out, collapsing to one knee as pain seared through her leg. Blood poured from the wound, staining the dirt beneath her.

"Jovi!" Dean shouted, his eyes wide with panic as he swung his machete again, this time catching the werewolf across the chest. The creature snarled in pain, but it wasn't done yet. It circled them, its yellow eyes locked onto Jovi as she struggled to stand, her powers flickering weakly in her hands.

But Jovi wasn't giving up. Gritting her teeth, she pushed through the pain, forcing herself to stand. Her leg burned with every movement, but she wasn't about to let a damn werewolf take her down. Not here. Not now.

With a roar, the werewolf charged again, but this time, Jovi was ready. She raised both hands, blue energy surging from her palms, stronger than before. The blast hit the werewolf square in the chest, sending it flying backward into a rock with a sickening crunch.

Dean didn't waste a second. He was on the creature in an instant, swinging his machete with deadly precision. The silver blade sliced through the werewolf's neck, and its head rolled across the ground as its body slumped lifelessly to the dirt.

Breathing hard, Dean wiped the sweat from his brow and turned to Jovi, his eyes full of concern. "You alright, kid?"

Jovi nodded, but her face was pale, and she was still clutching her bleeding thigh. "I'm fine," she said through gritted teeth, but the pain was undeniable.

Dean hurried over to her, his hands already moving to assess the wound. "That's not fine," he muttered, his brow furrowing as he inspected the deep gash. Blood was pouring from it, too much to ignore. "Damn, this is bad. We need to stitch this up now."

Jovi bit her lip, her powers flickering
