WAITING for the right man was harder than you thought. Perhaps you thought it might be easier since fictional characters always used to be so perfect in every way. You're already an adult in your mid 20s and you feel that you're some teenage girl chasing after boys.

Finding the perfect man suddenly popped up into your head when you reached your last years of studying medicine to become a doctor. It was so sudden it even surprised you. But when you thought about it, your insticts weren't wrong, you did want to search for someone as early as possible. However, it's already been a half year and damn were you desperate.

The moment you saw a handsome man, they slipped out of your fingers like soap. No matter how much you tried, you never had any chance, something always had to happen to stop anything more happening between you and the men you had an eye on.

How they looked didn't necessarily seem important to you. Long hair? Hell yes, those are the hottest. Short hair? No problem, they look fine too. A tall lean guy is what you aimed for, the hair colour didn't matter to you either, nor how masculine or feminine they were. Deep voice? You couldn't say no. Though you had great expectations from them, demanding this and that from them.

"Where are the boys at with emotional stability?"

You asked while walking in the streets at a busy time of the day, holding your favourite bag linked around your arm as you held your phone to your ear. The noise of cars and chatter reached you, going past people with their difficult lives and eyes always darting everywhere around you.

"With a nice car, a CEO?"

"And almost just as smart as me?"

Your best friend, (f/n), caught onto your question and talked about your complaints you had for all the men you hadn't met yet. "Tch, as if there's those type of men left on the planet, it's like they're deserted," she replied with sass as you could visibly imagine her make a disgusted face while sitting on her bed.

"But where are the boys at with financial security?"

A whine left you as your entire body slouched along with your mood, lowering your face as well. It was frustrating to say the least, you didn't have to be so worked up over men but you couldn't help it.

"A doctor? A model? A man of possibilities?" (f/n) released a dreamy sigh, hearing that she had dramatically dropped onto her bed, probably laying on the bed like a starfish.

"Yes!" you nodded with a frown, you honestly didn't want to lose faith in men too early even though they were disgusting shitty bastards. Standing near the road, you waited for the traffic lights to turn green. "(Y/n), I do think your expectations are too high. I mean, you'll never find a guy like that these days,"

You pouted when it was time for you to cross the road. "Seriously, you're too obsessed with this. It's driving you mad, hun," she was right but your stubborn ass didn't want to give in just yet, though you were close to give up.

"It's just a waste of time, just bring your head out of the sky. Men these days are so dangerous and awful, being jerks and all," her words bore themselves into your head, taping over the beliefs you had about men currently.

"But why...?" you said quietly which she didn't catch.

"Anyways, I gotta go. See ya," she hung up after you said farewell, beeping sounds resonating through your ears when you bit your lip. You slid your phone into your pocket and continued walking back to your home.

When you entered your apartment, you plopped down onto your couch, a groan leaving you. An hour before you went to an appointment for a company and you got to know that their boss had injured his leg by falling off the stairs and he needed a doctor on his side to assist him. That was the perfect opportunity for you and you couldn't be happier. Finally your hard studying could pay off.

The building of the company was very big and quite modern, the best quality that you could think of. However you were only sent to one room, where you attended for your appointment and did your interview, which you luckily passed. The staff and workers were very kind and welcoming, something you didn't expect. You would hear from the female staff gushing over the ceo and you grew curious, but didn't think much into it since you were sure he was in his late 30s at least.

So you got up and made preparations and ironed your clothes, taking a shower and working on your computer for a few more hours.

You honestly couldn't wait.

Adjusting your turtleneck and suit, you started walking towards the company, your high heels/shoes clacking against the floor once you entered. You went for green that day, a green suit and matching green pants and a white turtleneck. It was simple yet elegant and professional.

A bag was gripped by one hand and a board with paper and a pen with the other against your chest. The CEO's personal assistant sent you an email describing and giving you instructions about the job and telling you which room you had to go to.

Taking the elevator, you pressed the highest floor number for that building and waited patiently, humming a tune quietly. That whole place was designed perfectly, looked perfectly, even smelled perfectly and felt like it too. You thought you could get used to this pretty fast.

But if you were honest, you were very grateful and happy to get that opportunity and work professionally, starting your life as an adult earning your own money and so on.

When you heard a 'ding' sound, you breathed in deeply before you stepped out and walked to your left until you reached the very end of the corridor. Closing your eyes one last time to compose yourself, you knocked three times and waited.

"Come in."

A pretty voice said muffled and you grabbed the door handle and opened it, revealing a big room with big windows that provided a great view of Yokohama. It had a brown aesthetic to it, cream colours here and there, it really comforted you. It seemed all cozy and pleasing the moment you're engulfed into the room. Very personal and a relfection of the CEO, you assumed.

Eyes moving to the left, you saw a man's back turned towards you. He appeared to have a finger on his lips, thinking deeply most likely, the other hand on his hips as his attention was on the large book shelf right behind his working desk.

The man outstretched his arm and grabbed a book from the third shelf and then flipped it open in his own pace and time. You could only stare and wait awkwardly, chewing on your lips.

But when he turned around, you quite honestly ceased to function. He placed the small object onto his desk and he put both hands on either side, pressing his weight onto to table slightly. Then he flickered his eyes to connect with yours and you hitched a breath.

Holy shit.

When his brown hues met yours, it was like you were gazing to the depths of utter warmth and complexity. It intrigued you immensely, you've never had this connection and feeling by just gazing into a man's eyes. They were emotional but emotionless and lively but lifeless at the same time. As if they were contradiction itself that lived in them.

His hair was also a beautiful brown colour, curly and fluffy, almost covering his eyes, a perfect length. And his other features were crafted so carefully and in full detail. He had put his coat on his chair, so he was only left in his pullover and shirt with a unique bolo tie and brown pants.

Immediately he had that power over you like no other man you've met. He was the most attractive and handsome man alive, you thought to yourself, not being able to talk at all. You definitely had a jackpot to be working beside him as his doctor which meant, being with him all the time.

"Are you going to continue the staring game or why are you here?" his melodic voice reached your ears, making you almost loose your balance.

Quickly composing yourself and slapping your simping away,  you stood up straight and began to talk, "I apologise, sir, I am your new doctor,"

His brows raised up as a small smile tugged on his lips, "Oh right! Now I remember!" he chuckled lowly as he sat down and put both elbows onto the table and interlocked his fingers lazily, smirking. "So, what's your name, dear?"

You returned his mimics, "My name is (Y/n) (L/n), sir. It's nice to meet you," you clutched the writing board closer to your chest as his strong gaze was fixed to your every move.

"I'm Dazai Osamu, CEO of this company. It's good to meet you too, Miss (L/n)," he tilted his head, analysing you from up to down with a polite smile.

After a few minutes of silence, you chose to say something again, "Sir, are there any specific things I have to consider or do you have any instructions for me?" you questioned.

He looked up, "Well, I can't walk too well, though standing up or sitting down doesn't hurt too much anymore. A first aid kit is in my private room next to my book shelves at the left. I don't have a massive bandage anymore, however as you can see I'm still using crutches," your eyes darted to the objects leaned against his desk.

"I ask you not to enter my private room unless I allow you to. Most of the time I don't even leave this room, unless really necessary, so you also don't have too move much, got that darling?" that last word sent a blush to your cheeks as you saved every information into your head and nodded as a response.

"Good," he grinned, "I love the way you're dressed," he took in your attire amused.

A giggle left you, feeling all fuzzy, "Thank you so much, sir, I wanted to look professional today," you swayed your body from right to left happily.

"And you did well, dear. You're quite easy on the eyes, you know?" a smirk painted his mouth, the change of aura sending you shivers.

Widening your (e/c) eyes, a breathy chuckle left you, "Are you... trying to flirt with me?" you frowned slightly, feeling stupid to even think that.

He smiled beautifully, "Was I too cheesy? I'll seduce you with interesting scientific facts instead," he brought his thumb and index finger under his chin with a funny look.

You laughed gently, covering your mouth with your hand as he joined in, you enjoyed his company a lot.

"How old are you?" he didn't stop interrogating as he leaned in with a more controlled face.

"I'm 22 years old."

Dazai hummed with a smile, "I'm 24,"

Your eyes almost popped out, "Really? You're so young and already owning such a successful company? Respect,"

He chuckled genuinely, folding his arms, "I wouldn't say that, I'm far from that. My incapable ass wasn't successful getting a drivers licence but I managed to get high from a sanitizer though," he spoke monotone with no emotion on his face.

Snorting you tried keeping in your laugh, pursing your lips at his silly answer. He's sure interesting huh?

Dazai's eyes wandered toward the clock and he calmly looked back at you, "Excuse me, darling but I'm quite busy right now, I forgot I had a lot to do. It was nice meeting you," he spoke respectfully as you replied, "It was also my pleasure, sir," you repeated his mimics again.

After that he turned his attention back to his paper work and started reading and writing on his computer. You saw that his medical files were laid on the desk and you came closer grabbing them and went out of the room. But you took one last glance his way catching how his lip corners twitched upwards in amusement.

You wished to have talked longer with him and it made you kind of sad but you had your own tasks to do. So you closed the door and went to one of the middle floors and stepped foot into your own office.

It appeared very simple and everything in order, just the way you would want it. This one had a turquoise aesthetic to it, which made you feel fresh for some reason. The room was spacious and convenient, so you could see yourself working well here. Taking a seat at your desk, you checked the drawers and other materials or extras. There was your name placed at the front and some shelves with books or medical utensils placed nearby in order. Your eyes scanned the place to observe everything just in case and to save more data into your brain.

Then you went back to open the CEO's medical files and read through them with a lot of concentration.

You felt like you were going to have a good experience at this place.

A week already flew past and you really got fond of this place. Your colleagues were so kind and polite, it actually was very surprising. You did expect them to wear masks in front of everyone else but when you thought back to the way Dazai would carefully analyse you, you had a feeling that he did that with any employee who wanted to work under his company and only chose good and worthy people.

It made you feel relieved.

Almost three days into the job, one of Dazai's assistants approached you and since then you'd be going to them for advice or aid or just simply to spend the breaks together. Her name was Yosano. She was a very intelligent woman with good humour and was always loyal to her boss, who she had known the longest. And she was very gorgeous as well, just to add.

When it came to Dazai...

Sigh.

He was a dream. You'd observe him from time to time how he treated his employees or discussed important business over the phone. He was so incredibly attractive, especially when he showed his intelligent side, you had a soft spot for smart people, it makes your heart beat faster and admire them. Dazai would treat you with respect and professionalism, always keeping his safe distance but also being frank with you, talking with you on breaks like a friend would. No man had ever made you laugh over the silliest things like he did nor were they as charming as him.

One day, you were asked by an assistant named Nakajima to hand over Dazai important sheets of paper he needed to read through and reply to the sender, who happened to be another well known company from Europe. You were informed he was in his room that day and not his office, so you did just that and opened the door to the said office.

Seeing the door to your left side, you came closer and noticed how the door was slightly left open, at least a 10 centimeter creak allowing you a look into the room. Though the moment you did, your (e/c) eyes were met by the CEO's tall figure staring into his mirror, buttoning up his shirt, providing you a sight of his bare chest for only five seconds before he adjusted his clothing item and fixed his hair. Heat made its way onto your cheeks and you immediately turned around, holding the papers in front of your flushed face in embarrassment.

You heard a gentle chuckle coming from the room as the shadow of the door vanished and Dazai stood behind you. Stepping out of the way you made eye contact with him as he booped your nose and simultaneously taking the papers from your hands. Then he sat at his desk, a small smirk still displaying on his lips as he read the contents printed onto the sheet, brushing his slender fingers along his lips.

You swore to God, you were about to pass out from embarrassment and surprise when you realised that you weren't breathing there for a second. Chills ran down your spine. Why did he have so much power over you? This is way too much for you to handle.

Another time Dazai was headed to the 10th floor to check upon Rampo, another close assistant of the CEO who, as you could recall, was incredibly intelligent but liked to behave like a child, sometimes even slacking off but still managed to get things done for some reason. You must admit, he had mesmerising green eyes like you've never seen before. He was also very charming.

"Are you sure sir? I can escort you with the wheelchair? Or do you need Atsushi's help?" you asked concerned with a frown as Dazai kept stumbling and holding his weight against the wall, his leg still being a struggle.

With a smile he spoke, "It's fine sweetheart, I'll get to the elevator myself and they have at least three wheelchairs for me throughout the whole building," his shoulder met the wall of the door which you were close to and had unlocked.

Taking a deep breath, you watched him persistently reach the door in a slowed and troubled pace. From time to time your body would move on its own slowly to help him in some way and raised up your arms slightly but he beat you to it.

Because he lost his balance and your bodies collided against each other. You felt your back shoved up against the wall, a gasp leaving you with eyes closed. However you didn't feel something against your body anymore. Rather you saw a strong arm at your left side pressed against the wall. After that you looked in front of you, seeing Dazai very close to you, his frame towering above you. For a moment you didn't quite feel your body and the fact your hand was also placed to his broad chest, blushing madly.

He took a breath, "I'll say it again," he leaned in with brows raised, "you're quite easy on the eyes, my dear. I could look at you all day," he leaned back again, eyes wandering around your features, "You're a work of art," he whispered to himself before he used his other arm to grab the frame of the door and stepped away from you.

"I apologise. I'll see you later. And go to your office for a break."

You stood there baffled and blinked your eyes. Yosano came in to pick up Dazai's coffee mug from his desk to replace it with fresh coffee. Her heels would clack against the floor as she chuckled knowingly.

Turning to her, you asked perplexed, "What?"

She faced you, her short hair making elegant movements along with her skirt she wore most of the time. The corners of her lips curved up in a smirk when she spoke while walking out again.

"Oh nothing."

And things went on just like that.

The times you'd help him out and he'd thank you every time. He always wanted to repay you but you declined his requests and told him he didn't have to do anything in return, all he should do was to rest. You couldn't help but get very attached to your boss, he was too irresistible to not like him. Dazai was a unique man. A man who had everything you wanted, a man too good to be true. He was indeed by your side and real but so surreal at the same time.

Today he asked you to wait for him outside the company and when he came, he took you into his car and drove to a cafรฉ nearby. Two months passed and his injury had gotten way better now. He was able to walk freely without your aid but you still wanted to be on his side, since he himself said that he was still vulnerable and
