"Huh. . . This thing doesn't seem scary at all," Sans pointed out as Frisk held up the spider.
"It's just a spider," Frisk replied calmly.
"Cool! I've never seen anything like this before," Papyrus added on, observing the spider in slight awe as [Name] and Asriel rushed to check if Frisk was all good.
"Does your arm hurt? Are you sure you're okay?" Asriel queried in a worried manner, pointing to the arm that Frisk recently broke. "I do recall Doctor XGaster saying he could heal himself. . ." [Name] pointed out, placing a hand under their chin in thought.
"Umm. . . It doesn't matter," Frisk shook his head, trying to forget about that slightly (or fully) embarrassing event. He turned to see Muffet caressing her head in pain while she sobbed loudly. "We have a problem to solve now."
"Uh-Oh. . ."
The group walked over to where Muffet was, who was in tears thanks to the massive headache on her head alongside the fact that her little and beautiful town was in shambles. Papyrus and Asriel had faces filled with guilt while Sans and [Name] couldn't help but feel bad for Muffet. Frisk crouched down to reach Muffet's height, handing her the spider (who calmed down a bit).
"H-Hey. . . I didn't mean to run away. . ." Frisk admitted, handing the spider to one of her many hands as he continued, "A stupid reflex made me react like a fool."
"Be careful who you call stupid," XChara warned as he pointed at Frisk accusingly, a visible irk mark appearing on his head.
"Look! Your little friend is safe and sound," he pointed out, the spider now in Muffet's hand as she was wiping away her tears with another.
Sans and [Name] gave their younger siblings a scolding look while crossing their arms, making the younger ones in question shiver slightly. Papyrus displayed one of Muffet's sand houses to her while Asriel clapped his hands together in a somewhat praying motion. Both expressed immediate regret (thanks to Sans and [Name]).
"Please forgive us, too! We ruined your little spider town," Papyrus begged for forgiveness, handing Muffet her little house. "We will do whatever it takes to pay for our crime!" Asriel added on with remorse.
"You better keep your word," Sans muttered, crossing his arms as [Name] copied his action.
Wiping away what was left of her tears, Muffet looked up to the group with a slight smile, staying quiet for the whole entire time. The three boys smiled at her as Frisk reached his hand out to her. ". . . What do you say?" Frisk asked, delighted to see Muffet feel a bit better once again.
"MOMMY!"
Muffet cried out for her mother, her powerful, or just high-pitched, voice making nonexistent wind blow dramatically at the boys. Papyrus was sent flying back, dropping his tin bucket in the process, while Asriel took a huge step back. Frisk just remained there as the wind blew his hair along with his heart locket. The spider with Muffet scurried down, the fear coming back to them once again.
"W-Wait! NO, NO, NO!" Sans frantically spoke up, waving his hands as he grew terrified about the consequences if an adult entered the situation. "We don't want any trouble with the adults, please!" [Name] begged as they added on, clasping their hands together.
"RETREAT!" Papyrus yelled, running away from the group to hide.
KLSH!
"PAPYRUS!" Sans shouted out for his brother, who yelped in terror as someone else entered the scene.
"Since when did she have a mother?" Chara questioned as he squinted his eyes at Frisk. Frisk remained silent as he watched Muffet make a pouty face, showing that she was very unpleasant by this group. ". . . Frisk."
". . . Ninth Timeline. . ." Frisk quivered out a response.
"Did you create her without our consent?"
A giant spider woman loomed over Papyrus with a shadow as she stood tall, making everyone (minus Frisk) tremble terribly on the spot.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO MY BABY!?" The spider screeched, showing her dozen pairs of sharp teeth. Her sight alone made everyone scream in terror, along with Chara. The youngest ones (including Chara) cried legit tears of fear right before everyone was wrapped up with a silky substance.
The spider woman lifted Muffet in her arms as she smiled at her, holding the group who were now wrapped up in a spider egg. Everyone (but Frisk, again) were in tears as the spider was cooing to Muffet as she held her like she was her kid.
Maybe because Muffet is her kid.
"Oh, my little nymph. . . What were you doing playing at this hour?" Galett, the spider woman, cooed softly as tears began to prick out of Muffet's many eyes. "I thought you were getting dressed for tonight."
"I was, Mommy!" Muffet was quick to reply. "But these ugly boys started attacking the town I built for my cousins!" She proclaimed, sending small glares (alongside pouts) to the said group of ugly boys.
"Damn, guess I'm a boy today," [Name], the non-binary one in the group, muttered out. But they really didn't mind if they were a boy, a girl, or even a non-binary pal.
"We said we're sorry!" Asriel cried out, admitting that he and Papyrus, indeed, did beg for forgiveness. "Just let us pay for the damages and we'll never come back!" Asriel still continued begging for their freedom, more tears forming out of fear.
"You're not leaving until I say so," Galett declared with a sinister grin. That was almost enough to make [Name] pass out of fear but they refused. They will persevere until the end just for their friends! And their brothers, too.
"A-Are we going to die?" Asriel asked, filled with fear as his lips quivered just by saying that question. The thought of death was usually always a thought that most children fear. And these kids weren't an exception (except for Frisk).
"Well. . . that's what we're going to find out. . ." Galett replied sinisterly as she laughed. "Fu! Fu! Fu!"
. . .
"It's Muffet's birthday, and I promised her she would have the best party ever," Galett announced to the children, who were still wrapped up like a spider egg. Galett led everyone inside the cave unwillingly (besides Muffet because she lives there). And the only sources of light were the torches that were hanging on the cave's rocky interior. "But my daughter is too shy and lacks friends," she continued, giving Muffet a little boop on the nose before they finally arrived.
"We can't have a huge party if we don't have enough guests, is that correct?"
[Name] fainted right on the spot, their head dangling down as Asriel (and surprisingly Frisk, too) snapped their necks towards [Name], growing more worried for them.
The cave was decorated with children stuck on a huge web. Literally. In front of said huge web was a table with a teraphosa chocolate cake. Besides the tables were pillars that held purple fire as a huge torch or something. And the rest of the cave was filled with normal home interior, which surprised everyone.
Everyone (besides a chill looking Vulkin) were practically in tears as a few tried to escape the webs. Looks like those kids were at this for hours. Some even gave up. But what made this nightmare worse was that everyone wore a party hat, with a couple of spiders crawling along there, too.
"So please be good kids. . . and take your seats."
A couple of spiders placed party hats on the gang, with the skeleton brothers just noticing that [Name] passed out. But still. Papyrus and Asriel couldn't help but cry out of fear again. Soon enough, they found themselves stuck on the giant web alongside everyone else.
"Great. The prince got caught, too," A bird monster spoke up in disappointment, truly feeling like there is barely any hope left in this situation.
"There is no hope," A happy looking Vulkin chirped out.
(This reminded me of that one scene in the mario movie with Lumalee, the blue star)
"I wish I could look just as calm as your brother, Asriel. . ." A dog monster commented on Frisk's calm nature, secretly wishing that it was him.
No weird shit, I didn't mean it like that-
"Forget about his brother. I wish I could be the other human. They're lucky to be asleep right now!" Another monster commented, spotting a sleeping [Name], who, again, passed out.
Many monster children cried and wailed out, their hopes dying as Papyrus hiccupped (due to his crying).
"How long have you guys been here?" Asriel turned to ask the nearest monster. If they're that desperate to go, then it must have been at least an hour.
"No one has realized we've been missing for hours. . ." The monster nearby replied in a low whisper, their mouth quivering as they grew fearful that Galett might have heard. This made Asriel gulp in fear, holding back his tears.
"Mom, Dad. . . Please. . . !" Asriel muttered to none other than himself. "I trust your parental instincts. . . Please don't let us down!"
Galett clasped her hands in a loving, motherly motion under her chin as she cooed at the sight of her only daughter preparing to blow the candles out. Muffet managed to dress properly for this special occasion through the children's tears, with everyone noticing that she now had two bows along with a sparkly cape (with a bow).
"Start singing," Galett told everyone. But she was received with silence and crying children.
"NOW!"
That was enough to make [Name] gain their consciousness back.
"Huh-What-"
To their surprise, everyone was singing happy birthday all of a sudden.
"Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday Dear Muffet, Happy Birthday to you."
Everyone sang through choked sobs and wails while others were straight up crying through singing. Everyone but Vulkin, who appeared rather happy, Frisk, who was just pretty chill with this turn of events, and [Name], who just woke up back to reality.
Fooh!
With a swift and small gust of wind, Muffet blew out her candles with puffed cheeks.
"What do you want to do next?" Galett asked Muffet. Muffet eagerly waved her hands up and down as she exclaimed, "I wanna see my presents!"
"But-" Asriel was cut off by Galett's 'small' threat.
"If any of you disappoint my daughter. . ." Galett warned in a light tone at first. But the mood quickly changed once Galett's tone turned into a threatening one, opening her mouth to reveal her sharp teeth once more. "I will take your lives as compensation."
"Holy shit-" [Name] muttered under their breath. "Sans, please use your magic to get everyone out of here, PLEASE!" [Name] begged, growing worried about everyone's lives here.
"I'm too scared! I can't!" Sans admitted, shaking to free himself from the web.
"I'll start with him," Muffet began, pointing directly at Asriel's direction. "The prince!"
Asriel gulped, afraid of the many possibilities that may occur. Galett grabbed the prince in question, removing him from the web as she pushed Asriel to where Muffet was. "Nice choice dear," Galett commented as she brought the prince down, watching Muffet sing to herself as she cut her cake. Asriel was shivering the whole time.
"Here's your portion!" Muffet chirped brightly as she handed Asriel a plate of the chocolate cake with visible spiders on it. Everyone (besides the two spider monsters) will forever remain confused if those spiders were real or not.
"Thanks. . ." Asriel muttered with a scrunched-up face.
"And now you will give me my birthday present," Muffet announced with a gleeful smile, using her hand to gesture to the prince to hand over a present. Asriel stammered, unsure if he even had something to give Muffet as a gift.
"Remember, you're not leaving until you've paid for what you did," Galett reminded, using one of her fingers to lift it above as she spoke (like those poses that people draw when someone announces something, I dunno).
"Psst! Go through your pockets and give her whatever you have!" Sans loudly whispered frantically.
"Oh! R-Right, yeah!" Asriel did what he was told and quickly dug into his pockets. Luckily for him, he decided to bring some sweet treats for everyone today. And on cue, he took out many candies and revealed them to Muffet. "H-Here! All yours!"
Muffet gasped in a cute manner as she placed two hands on her cheeks, using another pair of hands to receive the candy. "Candies! I love candies!" She exclaimed, growing giddy as she grabbed the candies eagerly, stuffing some into her mouth as Asriel sighed in relief.
Plot Twist: Muffet didn't remove the wrappers.
"Hmph! Fine, you can leave now, Lucky Boy," Galett scoffed, upset that someone managed to leave that easily as she crossed her arms.
"Hey! What about my friends!?" Asriel asked with an angry pout. "I gave her what she wanted! That was the deal!"
"Fu, Fu, Fu! Did you think that was enough?" Galett chuckled. "Royalty being stingy. . . Who'd have imagined?" She waved her hand dismissively with a smile before Asriel found one of her hands pointing a few centimeters away from his face. "Each one of them must give my Muffet a gift that makes her happy," Galett states with a smirk. "And don't even try to tell your dumb parents. No one will be released until I say so."
"Who's next, who's next," Muffet rambled those exact words so many times, using her finger as her compass to choose who's next to give her a gift. Eventually, her eyes glimmered brightly as she finally selected her target. "Oh, you two! The other weird looking goat siblings!" She pointed right at Frisk's and [Name]'s direction.
If [Name] could have the choice to pass out, they would do it at this very moment.
Galett removed the human duo from the web by their heads, kind of holding them like cats. "No, no, Sweetheart. These two are humans!" Galett informed Muffet, making her eyes shine even more in amazement.
"Their names are Frisk and [Name]! And they're not weird!" Asriel protested, offended that Muffet just insulted his siblings without having even the slightest clue. As a last resort, he tried to push Galett away with all his might. But she just used one of her many arms to stop him without any problems in doing so.
"Listen to me. If you don't do something right now, I will take control and I will not contain myself," Chara warned Frisk in a low tone, growing pissed off by Galett's actions. "Or even better, [Name] might do something about it. They may not remember the past timeline but they sure as hell give them a bad time. And probably scold you in the process, too."
"Bon appΓ©tit!" Muffet chirped as she handed [Name] and Frisk large portions of the cake, making [Name] wonder if the cake was tasty or not. Without anyone else noticing, they took a quick bite of the teraphosa chocolate cake filled with spiders (decorations?).
It tasted. . . good. The taste was almost nostalgic to them.
"Oh, my! You gave them each huge portions," Galett gasped in fake yet real surprise. "What got your attention?"
Muffet rose her head high while grasping a pair of hands into a position that showed mischief (yours truly doesn't know how to describe it), with Asriel giving her the stink eye. "Something that will not only make me very happy. . . But will also free everyone on the spot!" Muffet proudly announced, her eyes observing two golden things that both human sibling's wear.
"Those shiny things around your neck look so pretty and unique!" Muffet complimented (the heart lockets) as she clasped her hands together in joy. This made [Name] slowly take a step back while gently clasping her own heart locket as they hung their head low. "If you give those to me, the debt will be paid off and-"
"No. I'm sorry," Frisk replied softly, trying to be as nice as possible.
Galett had a visible irk mark on her face as she glared at Frisk, expecting the other one to do what she wanted them to do. But once she met [Name]'s gaze, [Name] pulled Frisk away from Muffet, pulling him into a small side hug.
Every kid had looks of fear and shock once they heard Frisk speak up. Asriel stopped his futile attempts to stop Gallet, watching his brother with wide eyes. And for Muffet. . . she began tearing up.
"Aww. . . Did she hit a nerve? You totally deserved that, idiot," Chara commented, crossing his arms. But he gave a couple more head pats to [Name] out of sympathy, feeling more bad for them rather than Frisk.
". . . What about you?" Muffet looked at [Name] with puppy eyes, silently begging them to give her what she wanted. But all she received was a rapid head shake from them, silently telling her that they wouldn't hand over the heart locket.
It's special to them. But not in the way you may think.
Muffet began tearing up as she looked towards her mother, puffing up her cheeks. "They said no, mommy. . .'' Muffet sniffled as Galett let go of Asriel, making him run to his two human siblings.
"I know, dear," Galett clenched her fists as she began growing fed up with these two humans.
"What are you two doing!? You're gonna piss her off!" Asriel frantically asked while stating the obvious, shaking Frisk as he began to shake himself.
"I'll assume that you two are scared so I'll give you one last chance. . ." Galett began as she revealed her sharp teeth once more. "The Dreemurrs' may have grown fond of you two, but humans will always be despicable creatures. . . I will not let you insult my precious daughter. . ." She harshly warned in a low tone, sending chills under everyone's spines (well, most of them).
"HAND THEM OVER."
"Are you gonna let your creation talk to you in such a disrespectful way?" Chara commented, giving a stink eye to the spider family.
"Just give her the stupid necklaces, guys! We must save our friends!" Asriel begged, tears threatening to spill once again as he continued begging. He didn't want anyone here to die. If only Frisk and [Name] could just give her what she wanted. . .
'No. . . It was also my fault that we're here. . .' Asriel solemnly thought, even more guilt rising up to him.
"Don't call it stupid, brother," [Name] warned with a small glare while clenching their own heart locket, never letting go of Frisk in their side hug. "They're special. . . I'm not giving something that's close to the both of us like that. . ."
SPLAT!
'What do you know about this. . . You're only a bunch of stupid kids that can't understand.' Frisk thought to himself as he dropped the cake with a splat. The many memories of the past timelines flashed in his mind as he clenched his own heart locket close to him, trembling in the process.
All those god-awful memories. . . Asriel saying goodbye to them, Asgore and Sans dying, losing Toriel after two days, [Name] being controlled by XGaster, watching his siblings almost get killed by XGaster, Mettaton and Mad Mew Mew being destroyed by XGaster, Papyrus giving them a sad smile before Frisk created this timeline. . .
Everything replayed in his mind.
'You can't remember anything. . . Not even [Name]. . . I'm alone in this. . .'
Noticing his distraught state, [Name] wrapped Frisk up in a full embrace, trying to
