Entry Number 0. Timeline Number 10.

The Experiment was a success.

[Name] and Asriel peeked their heads out to see Frisk’ laying face-first on a bed of purple flowers. Frisk had tears pricking out of his eyes as he opened his heterochromia eyes to scan the room. His eyes eventually landed on his sibling, who came rushing towards him to embrace him in a hug.

Now it’s time to give it a name.

β€œI’m so sorry. . .” Frisk apologizes through choked sobs, hugging [Name] back as they gave him a confused look. β€œI’m so sorry about the last fucking timeline. . . I shouldn’t have noticed why you were so quiet. . .”

[Name] was just confused at his whole confession.

β€œWhat do you mean? I’m sorry for leaving home without telling you. . . which was a week ago. . .” [Name] apologized, making Frisk widened his eyes.

How could he forget that they couldn’t remember resets? And with him using the Overwrite button in the process, all of [Name]’s memories of the past timelines were all gone due to his little breakdown.

  Now, he had nobody.

β€Ήβ€•πŸ’œβ€•β€Ί

XGaster’s boots clacked through the streets of the Underground city as Alphys followed him from behind, her beginning to grow a bit tired thanks to her child state. Monsters watched as the man with a funny looking yet classy hat walked to where the Royal Family was, giving him looks of confusion. Have they ever seen him before or what?

β€œNow I think the hat wasn’t necessary at all,” XGaster commented, noticing the stares of confusion that he was receiving from all monsterkind. He tilted his hat more downwards while Alphys looked around her, also noticing the monsters who were in a state of confusion.

β€œSince you’ve chosen to live in isolation, it was very likely that you’d become the center of attention, my lord,” Alphys addressed, choosing the most logical guess out of her options. Sure, when you’re just a sad monster who lives in that tiny house that can be seen afar from a cliff, no wonder people don’t know of your existence and suddenly begin wondering who you are.β€œThese creations don’t need to remember you anyway,” Alphys finished, noticing that they were almost approaching the home of the Dreemurr’s.

β€œYou’re right, I shouldn’t even care,” XGaster agreed, taking the first step up that leads to the great doors that lead to the royal castle.

Two bros (before hoes) were casually talking about having a nice cream date wherever Nice Cream Guy’s stand was. Everyone knows that his nice creams were like no other and were one of the best frozen treats in the Underground. Pretty helpful if you just came from a long journey through Hotland and the heat actually affects you unlike most monsters. However, their nice conversation had to be put to an end once they noticed XGaster standing in front of them.

β€œStop right there, sir. The King and Queen are not available to attend to your needs at this moment,” Royal Guard 01 informed him, blocking the exit alongside his lover (Royal Guard 01 X Royal Guard 02 supremacy. I remember fangirling whenever their fight happened cuz it was so wholesome AS FUCK I-). β€œFor the safety of the Kingdom, the castle entrance will be temporarily closed,” Royal Guard 02 continued for his lover.

  I love them so much I can’t-

β€œIt’s because of the other human child that appeared in our world a few days ago, isn’t it?” XGaster raised a brow, suspecting that could be the main reason why the castle’s doors are closed. β€œWell. . . it turns out. . .”

. . .

β€œ. . . A doctor, you say?” Queen Toriel stood up, rewording the same words that Royal Guard 01 had told her. β€œWe have not requested the services of any doctor,” Asgore pointed out, with Asriel sitting on his lap as he hid his face with his ball.

β€œI know, your highness. . .” Royal Guard 01 bowed down to the royal family.

Toriel hummed. β€œThis is quite strange. Did he tell you something else?” Toriel wondered. She received a nod from the royal guard in front of her.

β€œYes. He claims to be a doctor specializing in humans,” Royal Guard 01 informed them, still bowing down to them in respect.

β€œSpecializing in humans!?” Toriel exclaimed, making another human child pop their head out of her chair in curiosity. Perhaps this doctor can tell them what has been going on with them for the past few days. β€œBring him here immediately!” Asgore ordered, receiving a β€œYes, Sir!” from Royal Guard 01.

β€œI hope that doctor can find out what’s bothering my new friend. . .” Asriel muttered out, peeking his head out from the ball he was holding. β€œAnd about my other friend who has been so quiet until a couple of days ago. . .”

That part was true. Ever since [Name] fell down to the Underground a week ago, they have been so quiet towards everyone. They were polite but barely any words came out of them. The most they heard from them was a simple β€œno thank you” when being offered to be escorted by the Royal Guards to the town so they can see how life is like down here.

But their quiet and emotionless facade broke once Frisk fell down not long ago. But that quickly came back ever since Frisk began being aggressive all of a sudden, making [Name] shut themselves in again.

Soon enough, XGaster found himself talking with the King of Monsters. A creation that he didn’t really like.

β€œGolly, where do I start, Doctor?” Asgore began. Anyone could tell from miles that this King was worried. β€œSince my son and the other human found them, they’ve been very aggressive towards everyone. They refused to eat or allow us to heal their wounds. We don’t even know either of their names,” Asgore continued rambling, somehow growing more worried if he could.

β€œI need to be alone with it, first,” XGaster told him, tilting his hat further down. β€œThen I will talk with the other one, after.”

β€œIt. . . ?” Asgore didn’t really like the feeling of this doctor calling one of the humans an β€œit.” It didn’t really sound right. β€œUm, are you sure? I-I’m afraid you could get hurt,” XGaster spoke with concern both in his words and eyes, not wanting this doctor to obtain any injuries in the process of checking this human.

  β€œDon’t worry.”

Reluctantly yet willingly, Asgore opened the door with a sinister creak. XGaster took a step inside the room and slammed the door shut once he did so. That made Frisk side-eye him with a glare, bringing his knees to his chest in the process.

β€œHello, ignore this outfit,” XGaster spoke, making Frisk harshly turn his head back. β€œI remind you, experiment, that you are too old to be carried away with your emotions. Your tantrums resulted in a pathetic reset of the timeline we were building as a team,” XGaster scolded him harshly with a glare, a shadow forming under his eyes thanks to his hat. However, despite this, Frisk remained quiet. β€œI keep waiting for you to tell me what you’re going to do since you were complaining about my work.”

  Once again, he received silence.

  β€œ. . . So?”

β€˜No. What am I doing?’ XGaster thought, rethinking his decisions for the best. β€˜Rushing this could ruin all my progress thanks to my visions. . . I must be patient and analyze every single detail that happens around the experiment. Depending on someone else is very annoying. . .’ XGaster turned to twist the knob, preparing himself to leave Frisk be. β€˜But I brought it all on myself.’

β€œNever mind. I’ll leave you alone until you sort it out,” XGaster finally spoke up, removing his classy hat with one of his many floating and magical hands. β€œI’ve got to go now. I have to check on your sibling next.” His hand placed his hat on Frisk with a plop as XGaster left, shutting the door behind him.

β€œThat was hilarious and adorable,” XGaster muttered with a thin-tight lip expression, finding that quite interesting.

β€œWhere is the other human?” XGaster asked the King in front of him, who already had the other one hiding behind him and he didn’t even realize it. Not long after XGaster entered to check on Frisk, [Name] suddenly appeared. They hesitantly but quickly popped up their head from Asgore’s shoulder, making him yelp slightly in surprise. Despite being in the same room as the King himself, he had no idea that [Name] was here.

β€œCan I talk with it alone, please?” XGaster requested, watching with slight amusement as the King picked [Name] up with only paw, not struggling at all. The King nodded with a small β€œyes” in response as he set the child down carefully, their Frisk face never falling. And once Asgore escorted the two into the living room, he let them be.

β€œSo, I know none of this was your fault,” XGaster began. β€œDespite your small tantrum, you didn’t do anything drastic unlike that brother of yours.” He just stared blankly at [Name], who held no sort of emotion whatsoever. But after a couple of seconds, he received a puzzled look.

β€œUhm. . . I’m sorry, sir,” [Name] began, finally finding a couple of words to speak. Some part of them wanted to snap at this man yet they didn’t know why. They just met him for God sake! But. . . he was making them into a more confused and lonelier child than they already were. β€œBut. . . I have no idea what you are talking about. . .”

This made XGaster gasp slightly in shock.

β€œSo, you do not remember anything about a tall skeleton?” XGaster asked them, raising a brow. He desperately wanted an answer from them. How could they have suddenly forgotten everything? And to his surprise, he received a head tilt while the human nodded β€œno.”

β€œDo you know about an annoying human boy with white hair?”

  No once again.

β€œA fish lady with a pathetic sense of justice?”

  Again, no.

β€œDo you at least remember those heart lockets?”

β€œI only made one for my brother, sir. Who happened to be the newly fallen child.”

XGaster hummed in thought as he placed a finger under his chin. β€œVery well, then.”

. . .

β€œIs everything alright?” Toriel asked with concern as she saw XGaster exit the living room, with a small and confused [Name] holding his knee so he could technically kinda carry them away while they held onto his leg. As much as he hated it, he knew he couldn’t stop them. Despite their memories being forever gone, their strength that they trained for in timeline five was still there. And they were the one who caused the most damage to him.

β€œThe new human child is named Frisk,” XGaster informed them, receiving multiple gasps of shock. β€œDon’t worry about his injuries. He knows how to heal himself. Ice cream and chocolate are his favorite foods. That will make you earn his trust.” He turned down to face [Name] who was slowly beginning to fall asleep, somehow still having a strong hold on his leg to prevent them from falling on their back. β€œThis one is named [Name]. They are quite timid, yet their shell is quite easy to crack. Give them some [favorite food(s)] to slowly earn their trust. And these two are siblings.”

β€œIncredible. . .” Toriel gasped, surprised that this doctor really managed to learn more about the humans than anyone ever could. He really did specialize in humans. Asriel looked at him with shock and delight as Asgore ran away to fetch the food needed for these two humans. β€œOh! I’m sure we have some of those things!” He exclaimed, rushing to the kitchen. This made [Name] let go of XGaster, somehow landing without any scratches as they rushed to follow Asgore.

Food is food. Don’t blame them.

β€œHow can we pay you, doctor?” Toriel questioned, feeling quite guilty that XGaster technically did this out of his free will. Now, she felt like they all owe him something thanks to the things he did. Thanking him wasn’t enough.

Get your mind out of the gutter, dirty minded readers. I know some of you guys are out there.

β€œNo need to,” XGaster dismissed. Alphys quickly left the porch to follow him back home as he began walking away.

β€œW-Wait! We would like to know more about you. . . could you accept a cup of tea as a thank you for your kindness,” Toriel offered. β€œWe will talk another time,” XGaster replied.

β€œThank you so much, Uncle Doctor!” Asriel thanked with a smile, making Toriel’s expression grow nervous. β€œA-Asriel!” She scolded before apologizing in his place, β€œI apologize sir, I-”

β€œUncle XGaster for you, little one,” XGaster corrected, making Asriel beam in delight. β€œAu revoir,” XGaster bid them farewell, making Asriel wave dramatically back as he and his mother bid farewell to him back. β€œLet’s go, Alphys.”

Once XGaster and Alphys left the castle grounds, they were back walking back home through the city of New Home.

β€œYou are in a good mood,” Alphys commented as she jumped down the stairs due to her small height, almost making her fall face-first to the ground.

β€œIs there a problem with that?” XGaster questioned, removing his coat.

β€œUm. . . it’s unusual to see you interacting with your creations like that,” Alphys confirmed, growing curious as to why he had a sudden change.

β€œWell. . . We will spend a long time without much to do. The least we can do is spice things up a bit.”

β€˜It won’t affect my future. They don’t need to remember this.’

Once the two arrived back home (which was a while but not that long), they went back to their normal ways. Or. . . what they’ve been doing for the past few days ever since Frisk has created a timeline.

Taking a seat down, XGaster began reading all his notes while drinking chocolate milk. And it wasn’t long until Sans and Papyrus came rushing into the room.

β€œYou two will come with me to the castle next week,” he told them as soon as they stepped foot in the room, β€œThere are children your age. I think you deserve their friendship.”

β€œYAY!” Sans and Papyrus jumped in joy while cheering, glad that they will see other children around their age that aren’t Alphys! An absolute win!

Back in the Castle, Asgore and Asriel peaked their heads slowly out the door as Toriel handed Frisk another plate of ice cream. Frisk happily but hesitantly accepted it, consuming it rapidly once more. And how did this kid not even receive one brain freeze by devouring it so quickly?

β€œDo you want more ice cream?” Toriel asked, making Frisk nodded a bit too eagerly in response. β€œAll right, sweetie pie! But first, you must take a bath.”

[Name] peaked their head out to see their brother while eating [favorite food].

β€Ήβ€•πŸ’œβ€•β€Ί

β€œHowdy! I’m Asriel, and these are my brothers, Frisk and [Name],” Asriel introduced the three of them with a smile to a pair of skeleton brothers. β€œWhat’s your name?”

β€œI’m Sans!” Sans introduced himself with a toothy grin, pointing at himself. β€œAND I’M PAPYRUS! NICE TO MEET YOU!” Papyrus chirped with his high-pitched voice (his voice sound was the most cutest one I’ve heard, my fucking heart-).

β€œNice to meet you, too!” Asriel smiled, glad to have two new friends. β€œMommy, can Sans and Papyrus play with us in our room?” Asriel asked for permission from his mother, making a small puppy dog face.

β€œOf course, my children,” Toriel smiled, receiving a smile from Asriel and a growing nervous feeling inside [Name]’s stomach. β€œBut once you have finished, please pick up your toys, alright?” She told them with a soft and sweet voice like honey.

β€œSans, Papyrus. . .” XGaster called out for the two skeleton brothers, making their hopes of playing with their friends immediately fall. β€œPlay nice and do not forget your manners,” XGaster told them, making Sans and Papyrus smile as they beamed in delight.

β€œYes, sir!” The two replied in unison with beaming smiles as Asriel began leading them to his and his new siblings' room. β€œLet’s go, guys!” Asriel told them with a delighted smile, receiving the iconic Frisk face in return from both of them. [Name]’s Frisk face fell once they noticed Papyrus rushing, eagerly wanting to play as Sans trails slowly behind with a giddy smile.

β€œOur children look so happy! They’re going to be great friends,” Asgore commented, happy that their children are getting along so far. After XGaster took a sip of his tea, he replied, β€œIndeed.”

Toriel crouched down to face Alphys with a smile, who was there, too. β€œLittle one, don’t be shy, you can also play with them,” Toriel offered, wanting this child to make friends as well.

β€œNo, they’re all stupid,” Alphys bluntly replied, making Toriel softly gasp. β€œMind your manners, Alphys,” XGaster scolded lightly.

Back with the children, Frisk and [Name] sat far away from the group, who were playing with toys. [Name] hid behind Frisk despite being older. They were never used to talking with people around their age, making them grow nervous around them and suddenly have a feeling that they might fuck up something, making them a bit scared.

(HOLY SHIT! A DELTARUNE REFERENCE [the duck head with a canon as a body]!!!)

Sans couldn’t help but notice that both humans were quiet. β€œHumans are so quiet. . .” Sans muttered out as he held a dog plush with his hands. β€œHey, don’t you two wanna play with us?” He asked, wanting them to not feel out. β€œFrisk’s a bit timid because he arrived at the underground a few days ago,” Asriel spoke up with a sad smile, also wanting his dear siblings to join along. β€œAnd. . . your dad said that [Name] was naturally timid. Maybe it has to do with something on the surface. . .” Asriel was careful to mutter out the last bit.

Sans smiled at the two humans after Asriel informed him about the two. β€œThere’s nothing to fear! Monsters would never harm a member of the royal family,” Sans reassured them with a toothy grin, making [Name]’s head perk up a bit. β€œNow that we’re friends, we will protect you as well!”

[Name] had never heard such words from anyone. Making them smile a bit. They were always used to kids their age calling them and Frisk weirdos, so this was new to them. It made their shell begin to crack just a bit.

[Name] looked at Frisk, silently asking him if they could play with the kids. Frisk, noticing a sudden change in his sibling, hesitantly nodded. They may have lost their memories, but he would like to see them smile.

He wouldn’t say this outloud since he couldn’t, but he wanted to tell them about everything that happened, reminding them about everything again. Chara did, too. But the two decided it was best for them to live without knowing the truth.

They have suffered enough, after all. They didn’t want to see their dear older sibling suffer in silence any longer. It would be best if they forgot all about it.

But. . . he’d be lying if he said he wouldn’t feel better if they knew. It would make him feel like he wasn’t alone in this but. . . it was for the best.

Frisk nodded, taking [Name]’s hand as the two hopped down the bed. The human duo sat near where Papyrus was, with Sans handing the dog plush he was playing with to [Name]. This made them smile.

The five of them all played together until they each fell asleep on the floor.
