"NUMBER FIVE, WHERE IS HE?" Cha Cha choked Klaus with a wire.
Klaus was duck taped to a chair with a towel over the lower section of his body. Elli was few feet away from him, but she was still unconscious. Blood dried on her face and her uniform as she was slumped forward with duck tape around her wrists connected to the chair.
"Don't. . . stop. . ." Klaus groaned. "I'm almost there."
"Is that a. . . ?" Cha Cha asked as Hazel stood up and looked at what she was looking at.
"Yep," he confirmed as Cha Cha exclaimed in disgust.
"Oh!" The both sat down on a bed that was on an opposite side of Klaus and sighed in annoyance.
"Ah, there's nothin' like a little. . . stranglin' to get the blood flowin', am I right?" Klaus chuckled.
"What is so funny, you asshole?" Hazel stood up and smacked him across the head.
"Ow!" he said in pain. "Well, for one. . . you spent the last ten hours. . . beating me senseless, and. . . " Klaus shivered. "you've learned absolutely nothing. I mean, nobody tells me shit. The truth is, I'm the one person in that house nobody will even notice is gone," Klaus chuckles as he looked towards Elli and said, "Her too. They keep forgetting about her and ignoring her that it's just sad."
"Thing is, you assholes kidnapped the wrong girl and guy!" Klaus laughs once more so Hazel stands up and slaps him across the head. Again. "Ow! I'm sorry, okay?"
"Please make him stop talking," Hazel demanded to Cha Cha.
She stood up and held a cloth in her hand. "Let's waterboard him."
"No," Klaus grunts as Hazel took a pot of water and started to pour it over his head. Klaus started to open his mouth and try to catch some of the water. "Ah! Oh, I needed that," he spoke in relief.
"Come on!" Hazel spoke in anger as his threw his cookie across the motel room.
"I was," Klaus burped. ". . .so parched," he smiled. "Thank you. Thank you," he laughs as Hazel and Cha Cha make their way to the motel bathroom, shutting the door behind them.
"Elli," Klaus whispered to her. "Elliana, please wake up," he continued, but she didn't budge. "Shit. Ben, what do I do?" he looked behind him to Ben who was sitting on top of the bed on the left.
"I don't know, Klaus, she looks dead," Ben looked down as Klaus shook his head.
"I would've been able to see her. She can't be dead, she's so young," Klaus sighed.
"I can try to shake her awake," Mace suggested as he leaned down in front of her.
"Who are you?" Klaus looked over to the boy.
"That's Mace, Klaus. The ghost Elliana can see," Ben clarified as Klaus oh'd.
"I could see you guys as a couple," Klaus smiled as Mace looked over to him.
"Okay, gross," Mace fake hurled. "Elli might be beautiful but I like men so," Klaus oh'd as he nodded.
"Okay, here goes nothing," Mace sighed as he closed his eyes, slowly moving his hands to her shoulders. He waited for them to just phase through but he felt the fabric of her clothing. He opened his eyes to see him grabbing Elli's clothing and started to lightly shake her. "Elli. Elli, come on wake up," he continued to shake.
"What?" Elli began to lift her head up and look around the room. "Ow, my head hurts," she groaned in pain about to bring her hand up to touch her head, but then looked down to see her hands duck taped. "What's going on?" she began to panic. "Where am I?" she looked up to Mace, "Why am I tied up?" she began to whimper.
"No, no, no, hey," Mace grabbed her face and made eye contact with her and said, "don't cry. Don't cry. It's okay, hun," he tried his best to calm her down, but the bathroom door opened and he saw Hazel and Cha Cha coming back out.
He stepped away from her and she cried 'no' as he gave her a sorry look.
"Oh, looks who's up," Cha Cha made her way over to Elli. "Maybe we should ask her questions, eh?" she looked over to Hazel who nodded.
"Now, we need some answers," Hazel said to her as he stepped in front of her shaking body. "Where's Number Five?"
"What? How am I supposed to know that?" Elli asked and Hazel slapped her across the face.
"Ow! What's that for? I just said I didn't know," she shrieked.
"You know where he is. Tell us," Cha Cha claimed as she grabbed Elli's head and tilted it back towards her.
"Stop, please. I really don't know," she claimed as she shook her head.
"Lying bitch," Cha Cha struck her across the head twice and Hazel slapped her across the face then tears started to fill her eyes.
"Please, stop. Please," she pleaded as she tilted her head down towards her chest. Hazel clicked is tongue and moved near the bed on the left side of the room and Cha Cha followed.
"Maybe you're not hitting them hard enough," Hazel said as he started eating something that was on the counter.
"Me?" Cha Cha gave him a look. "You're the one with the stupid orthopedic bracelet," she gestured to his wrist.
"I told you already, it's just for support."
"Withdrawal. . ." Ben spoke as he stood in front of Klaus. "It's starting now, isn't it? Must be. Otherwise, who's the dead babushka?" Ben looked over to the dead woman in the corner of the room that was looking out the window.
"I don't know, but it's driving me crazy. The bitch won't shut up!" Klaus hissed as the woman kept speaking Russian.
"What are you talking about?" Elli asked as she was just as confused as Hazel and Cha Cha.
"Hey! Watch your mouth," Hazel instructed as he looked over his shoulder at the frail man. "What did I say about eyes front?"
"Stay calm, Klaus," Ben said and Elli looked at the man in black, tilting her head slightly to the side.
"Who're you?" she asked as she scrunched her nose as she had an itch.
"Ben," he answered then looked back over in confusion. "Wait, you can see me?"
She nodded. "Why? Am I not supposed to?" Ben nodded. "Oh, why? Are you dead?" she said the last part in a whisper.
"Yeah."
"Oh, cool," she nodded with a smug smile. "Can we be friends? The only friend I have is also dead, but he's a jerk sometimes."
Mace gasped. "Elli, I'm so offended right now. How dare you say that about me."
Elli was about to respond but Cha Cha came around and asked Hazel to do something for her. "Hand me his coat."
"Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait—" Klaus tried to stop.
"Let's see," Cha Cha started to search his pockets.
"What are you doing? That's mine. That's my personal stuff."
"Oh!" Cha Cha pulled out a bag of pills. "What do we have here?"
"Let me see that," Hazel reached a hand out.
"Hey, no, no, no, no," Klaus shook his head. "Be. . . Be careful with that. It's. . . It's my. . . asthma medication."
"What's asthma?" Elli asked Mace who was now sitting on the edge of the bed beside her.
"Nothing, babe. But, that's bullshit, Klaus," he exclaimed and Elli went wide eyed.
"Jesus, Mace. Language."
"Now we're getting somewhere," Hazel threw the pills on the floor.
"Hey," he started to stomp on them. "No, hey! Whoa! No, hey, hold on! Hold on!" Klaus shouted. "We can have a conversation. We're adults."
"Okay, you want more?" Hazel asked as he threw the last bag onto the floor.
"No! No!" Klaus jumped up and down in the chair which scared Elli into trying to move her hands to cover them over her ears.
"Klaus stop! You're scaring Elliana!" Mace shouted as he moved towards his friend.
Klaus ignored him and continued to whine. "No, no, no! Stop! Stop! Please, listen," he pleaded. "Listen, I can... I can get you cash. Amputee hookers, whatever." Cha Cha then handed Hazel a bar of chocolate. "Hey, just, please, just listen. Just don't. . . No. . . Please. . ."
Haze placed a piece of chocolate into his mouth. "Chocolate. Mm-mm-mm!" he said in satisfaction.
"Please," he begged.
"You want a piece?" he asked Cha Cha who nodded and he passed her a piece.
"You gonna tell him that it's special chocolate?"
"Not until they're high as kites," Klaus smiled at his dead friend.
"Klaus, be strong," Ben said.
"This could all be yours for the low, low price of telling us everything," Cha Cha fumbled with the chocolate.
"Okay, fine," Klaus sighed. "Okay, I don't, I don't know where Five is. I wasn't lying about that. But I can tell you that he's, hasn't. . . hasn't been making much sense since he came back."
"Elaborate."
"I. . . Uh. . ." he stuttered. "He's just. . .He's been acting like a. . . a. . . a lunatic. He's been sitting in this van in front of a. . . a lab or something, and. . . looking for the owner of an eyeball. One of those fake ones."
"That makes no sense," Hazel shook his head.
"Hold on, just hold on. Tell us more about this eye, and why is it so important?" Cha Cha leaned against the desk.
"He said it had something to do with the end of times, or something," Klaus admitted to them and they looked towards each other.
After, they stuffed Elli and Klaus into a closet and left. Elli felt dizzy and very sick. she didn't know how long she could hold on for. She started to hyperventilate and shake, looking around for any light. A maid came in and started to vacuum, so Klaus and Elli started to scream, but she didn't hear them.
"Elli. Elli," Mace called out as he leaned down next to her. She had her knees to her chest and had her arms over her legs. "Hun, I need you to breath. You're gonna pass out." Elli ignored him and kept breathing hard. "Elliana, please listen to me," Mace begged but she kept breathing hard.
Elli's eye sight started to get loopy and she started to sway her head.
"No, no," Mace reached his hands out to catch her but it went straight through. "El, no," she passed out and hit the side of the closet door and Mace started to call out her name, but it was no use. She was already out.
As the night passed by, Elli and Klaus returned to their chairs and got duck taped again. Klaus started talking to some more ghosts and started to piss of Hazel and Cha Cha but they still weren't let go. Out of it all, as it was the middle of the night and Hazel and Cha Cha regrouped in the bathroom, someone walked past the room.
Klaus started to shout through his duck tape for whoever it was and began to bang his head on the table which shook Elli awake. She began to moan in pain as while she was passed out, Cha Cha struck her in the head. She tried to speak but her mouth was covered by the tape.
As Klaus whimpered with his head against the table, the look beeped and the door opened to reveal a woman. "Are you Diego's brother?" she asked Klaus as he nodded and responded, but it came out muffled. "I'm Detective Patch." Klaus began to say something muffled and motioned behind him to Elli.
Patch began to cut Klaus' wrist free and help him up but the bathroom door opened. Hazel started to shoot so Patch pushed Klaus onto the bed and brought her gun out and shot towards Hazel. "Police!" she exclaimed as she moved forward. "Drop the gun, or you're going down!"
"I'm coming out. Don't shoot," Hazel pleaded as he made his way out of the bathroom.
"Hands behind your head, asshole."
"Okay. Just don't shoot," Hazel made his way to his knees and Klaus made his escape through the air vent, leaving Elli behind. A gunshot filled the room as Cha Cha shot Patch in the back and she fell to the ground.
"Hazel," Cha Cha motioned to the now opened vent where Klaus was just at.
"Couldn't have gone far."
"That's not the only problem," Cha Cha looked towards him.
"The briefcase," he realized.
"Shit!" Cha Cha exclaimed as she threw down the gun about to exit the room.
"Wait!" Hazel stopped her. "What do we do with her?" he looked towards Elli who had blood on her face, looking towards them.
"We'll take her with us then drop her on the side of the rode or something. We don't need her anymore. She's useless," Cha Cha spoke as she grabbed her gun from the table and hit Elli the the end of it, knocking her out.
