Hyunsoo was inside one of the apartments, where no one else was. He just finished setting the trap, and started to look at things from the list he held in the left hand. The boy took off the backpack, and started throwing things in, not caring much if they would destroy. He was walking slowly, trying to avoid the strings that he put earlier.
He felt that he stomp on something. When he picked up his foot, he saw a shining, golden something. He picked it, looking at it between his fingers. It was a bracelet. Very simple, without any pendants, just simple chain. But even it was simple, it was very pretty.
Hyunsoo thought that it would suit Soojin. He didn't know how to explain it, but this bracelet looked like something she would wear. It matched her. The boy imagined her smile when he would give her this bracelet, and he caught himself on smiling. He quickly stopped.
The boy was looking at the jewel unsure. Can he just take it? Wouldn't it be stealing? It shouldn't be considered as stealing, they literally in the apocalypse, so who cares about one bracelet. But he also can't be sure that Soojin even likes jewelry.
He was thinking about it for a while, but finally, he put the bracelet in the pocket of his trousers, hoping that it's not gonna accidentally get lost.

"You want a drink?"
Soojin raised a small cup, that she had filled with soju, to Jisu that walked to the shop where the girl was sitting all by herself. She needed that alcohol, after the yesterday situation. And she needed her friends to sit with her, so Jisu showed up in the right time. She and Nayeon knew about her father, so maybe the girl even looked for her.
Soojin couldn't describe her feelings, since she had no idea what she feels. She felt guilty, but at the same time, she felt relived that the man was gone.
Jisu nodded her head, and walked to Soojin, putting her bat on the table. She sat on the chair next to the girl, as she took out another cup, and filled it with alcohol. The bassist held the cup up, and hit it to Soojin's cup. The girls emptied them within seconds. They hit on the table with cups, and sighed.
"Where did you lose Jaeheon?" asked Soojin
"I don't know, he is somewhere," Jisu furrowed at girl, "Why do you ask?"
She shrugged, and smiled, "You're just hanging around together all the time, so I'm just surprised that now it's different"
Jisu rolled her eyes, but she had a slight smile on her face. She took the bottle of soju and filled Soojin's cup. The brunette was looking at her friend with a smirk.
"You guys drinking without me?" exclaimed another girl that stood in the door
Nayeon walked to them, pulling a chair to herself, and sat on it astride, putting her crossed arms on the back of the chair. She put her quiver and bow on the table, and Jisu pour the alcohol to another cup.
"Cheers, my dear friends," said black haired, taking the cup up
"Cheers"
Three girls emptied their cups, and hit them on the table, with a big sigh
"So? What were you talking about?" asked Nayeon, putting her chin on her hands
"Jisu and Jaeheon," said Soojin, as the mentioned girl rolled her eyes
Nayeon straightened up, and clapped on her hands, "That sounds interesting. And? What exactly were you discussing?"
"I'm just noticing, that they hang out a lot," Soojin shrugged
"Does it mean that they got to second base already?" Jisu grimaced, and punched Nayeon on the arm, while Soojin bursted out laughing, "Aish! I just asked a question, why are you hitting me?"
"You guys suck," murmured Jisu
Nayeon looked at both girls confused, "I still don't know the answer"
Soojin started laughing even more. Jisu filled all three cups with soju again. The girls took their drinks, ready to taste it, when someone stood in the door. Three heads turned at the same moment to look at the Eunhyuk.
Their faces dropped a little, and awkwardness occurred. The boy just stood there with his typical penetrating gaze, and for Soojin, it was hilarious. She started giggling, looking at him, and two other girls tried not to laugh with her.
"Are you drunk?" he asked, crossing his arms
Soojin stopped laughing, and glowered at him, "I'm not drunk, I'm just having fun till I can, jeez. Maybe you should take a shot, and relax a little," and after that she whispered to herself; "and take that stick out of ass"
Jisu and Nayeon, wanted to burst out laughing, hearing what Soojin said, but because they tried to stop it, they just made a weird noices. Eunhyuk didn't heard the girl's words, but he still stood there with his arms crossed, and serious face.
"Just remember to do your duties," he said
"Yes, sir!" Nayeon got up from the chair, and saluted to him
Eunhyuk rolled his eyes, and turned around to walk away, but he was stopped by the sound of whistling. Because of the boy's surprised face, they knew it wasn't a training. And their good moods disappeared.
The girls picked their weapons, and rushed to the lobby with Eunhyuk. The person that give them a shout was Jieun, the quiet girl that was always around. Everyone gathered in the lobby, looking at the monster.
It looked like a gigantic mop. Like a person in the costume of mop or covered in tangled up fur. Or like homeless dog. There were a lot of examples like that, to which the monster could be compared to.
It was slowly walking in their direction. Soojin lifted her machete, ready to attack. Sangwook walked to it, ready to kill the thing, but he was stopped by ms. Ahn. He looked at her surprised.
"That's my husband," she said, and Soojin's mouth opened a little, as she didn't recognise mr. Kim as a monster, "Stay back"
The woman walked forward, standing in front her husband. Soojin tried to understand her emotions, but her face expressed nothing. Ms. Ahn was holding a big stick in her hand.
"Pull yourself together, Kim Seokhyeon," she said. Under the fur appeared a hand, "Pull yourself together!"
The woman yelled, and hit her husband with a stick. The monster grunted from pain.
"You decided to come back," whispered ms. Ahn, "Do you have any last words?"
"Please..." the man's voice was very quiet, and it sounded like talking makes him a lot of pain, "kill... me... I... am... sorry"
Ms. Ahn grimaced, being on the verge of crying, as she raised her hands. She hit the monster with all her strength. He collapsed on the floor with a loud bang.
Mr. Han covered the kids eyes, and even Soojin turned her head away, trying not to throw up. She was hearing a noise of splashing and loud crying.
The buzz from the door, saved her from this situation. The girl took care of it, walking away from the crowd. She opened the door.
Hyunsoo was leaning on the wall, breathing heavily. His eyes were black.
"Are you alright?" she asked him worried
The boy nodded his head, and after a second his eyes were normal again. He took a step forward. The girl stroked his back, as they walked downstairs. The boy was walking very slowly, and a bit as he was drunk, but that was probably because of exhaustion.
When they came back to lobby, Hyunsoo stopped, seeing dead body laying on the ground. He stared shocked at the laying body of monster, and ms. Ahn leaning on her knees, sobbing loudly.
"It was mr. Kim," whispered to him Soojin, "He turned"
Hyunsoo walked closer. He looked terrified. Ms. Ahn fell on her knees, with her head down.
Soojin could guess what he was thinking of. He was scared that he is gonna end like that. The girl put a hand on his arm, trying to comfort him, but she has no idea how could she do that. She felt sick feeling in her stomach, when she looked at mr. Kim's body, laying in the big blood stain. What if someday it's gonna be Hyunsoo? She tried not to think that way, but she was overthinking. She often thought about what will happen when the boy will turn into some disgusting creature.
The boy dropped a backpack on the ground with things that he took from apartments. All of it scattered on the floor. He started walking, passing everyone, without looking at them. Soojin felt a slight sting in her heart.

Hyunsoo returned to the quarantine room, almost right away falling on the bench. He was very tired. In his mind he still had a view of the monster, splashed on the ground, that used to be mr. Kim. He had a sick feeling in his stomach. No one could tell him for sure, that it's not gonna be him someday.
The door of the room opened, and inside walked Nayeon, holding a tray with food. Hyunsoo straightened up, a little surprised, because the girl never took care of it. It was almost always Soojin, who was bringing him food. The black haired girl put the tray on boxes, next to the boy. He thanked her with a nod, and took it in his hands. Nayeon was still standing in front him, making him a little nervous and confused. She just stood and stared. Hyunsoo waited with eating.
"How are you feeling?" finally asked the girl
"I'm okay" he murmured
He definitely was not alright, but who cares. Nayeon sat next to him, leaning on the wall and looking forward. Hyunsoo looked at her, surprised and confused. The girl sighed.
"You know..." the boy twisted his head to her, "I've been friends with Soojin for the past five years. I first met her, when she was crying on the stairs, after her father beat the shit out of her. She was fourteen. I couldn't just leave her there, so I took her to my place, and give her a sip of beer," the girl chuckled, looking down, "I know I shouldn't do that, but I was eighteen at the time, and it was the only drink I had in my fridge. Anyway, she didn't even like it, and later she said that her father is alcoholic, and I felt extremely dumb"
Nayeon played with her hands, smiling to herself, thinking about this memory. Hyunsoo was listening to her interested, but he didn't really know why is she saying this to him. Is she getting to any point, or she just wants to him to know that?
"What I want to say is that, I know Soojin pretty well," said Nayeon, and Hyunsoo nodded his head, "And I can tell if she likes someone, even if she still doesn't know that"
The boy's heart started beating faster. He didn't want to get his hopes up, but the girl's words had to mean something.
"She's never been in love earlier, and she also has problems with saying about her feelings. She is a complicated person, but she's a good kid. And that's why, I want you to promise me, that you won't hurt her," Nayeon stood up, and looked down at Hyunsoo, who opened his mouth to say something, but he had no idea what, so the girl decided to add something, "Or else, I shoot an arrow through your heart, and you can't be sure if you survive this"
She looked dead serious about that, making the boy feel maybe a little odd, not to say scared. He nodded his head. The girl turned around to leave the room, but Hyunsoo called her name, making her turn around again.
"Nayeon, wait. Do you think..." the boy put his hand in the pocket of his pants, and pulled out a bracelet that he earlier took from someone's room, "Do you think she would like it?"
He showed her bracelet. He got embarrassed a little, his ears reddened, scared that the girl will make a fun of him, but she smiled.
"She's gonna love it"
Nayeon left the room, leaving the boy alone.
He was looking down at the bracelet in his hand, with many thoughts in his head. Did the girl really just told him that Soojin likes him? He couldn't believe that. And if so, how could she know. Did she say that to her, or Nayeon just was thinking that? Or maybe she was just joking. No, she isn't that type of person who would make a joke about it. Probably.
He obviously also liked Soojin. Hyunsoo liked her in a way, he never liked anyone else. But he couldn't believe that someone like Mae Soojin could like him back. While she was the sunshine on the sky, he was the dark clouds. He was a monster, and was afraid that he's gonna hurt the girl if she stays too close to him.
But even with these thoughts, he took out his phone, and clicked on the calendar. He picked the date 25th August, with the note suicide. There were only three days left. Hyunsoo thought about Soojin. Either she liked him or not, he couldn't leave her alone.
He clicked delete.
