All night.
All night, I couldn't get myself to think about something else then feeling Eli's lips pressed against mine. It was like a drug, he was like a drug; addictive.
I twisted and turned in my bed, feeling extremely lonely, as thoughts of him ran across my mind. No matter how hard I tried to fight them off, they would come back a hundred times stronger; it was no use.
I groaned frustratingly into my pillow, forcing myself not to text him in fear of being too clingy and desperate as I tried my best to fall asleep for the millionth time.
~~~
I dropped the pasta into the boiling pot as I heard a quick knock on the front door.
I hurried to the door before opening it, being faced with a smiley Demetri.
"Oh, hey there, y/n," He laughed in surprise as I hugged him even tighter.
"Sorry, it's been a long time," I laughed back, almost nervously.
"Is Eli already here?" Demetri looked around as he entered the small apartment.
"No, but he said he'd come...I'm not one hundred percent certain he will though," My brows furrowed as I walked into the kitchen, continuing the meal I was making.
"You're not going to poison us are you?" Demetri smiled as he sat in a chair, close by.
"Maybe, haven't decided yet," I shrugged, a soft smile appearing on both of our faces.
There was a slight silence before I decided to talk again, "Are you nervous to see Eli again?"
"Am I a bit, only because I haven't talked to him in a while, but we know each other so well," He nodded with a slight clear of throat, "He won't admit it, but there's no one that knows him the way I do,"
"Do you miss him?" I said as I set the table.
"I miss the person he used to be,"
Before I could say a single word, another knock came from outside.
I opened the door and stupidly smiled at Eli who looked like he made an effort to dress up nice.
"You look handsome, Moskowitz," I whispered with a wide grin.
"Y-you look pretty too," He cleared his throat while a blush creeped onto his face.
God he's cute.
"Come in, Demetri's already here," I smiled at his previous compliment while taking him inside.
~~~
"And do you remember when you kissed a frog because you thought it was gonna turn into a princess?" Demetri cracked up at the memory, earning a laugh from Eli after he finished his bite.
"You really did that?" I grinned with a soft laugh, twirling my fork around my plate.
"Don't judge me...I just liked princess and the frog," Eli shrugged shyly with the smile that made me melt every single time.
"I'm not judging, I find it quite cute," I nudged him playfully.
"You know what's even cuter?" Eli shot a teasing glance at Demetri, "One time, Demetri and I were on the swing set and he cried like a little baby when he saw the girl he liked being kissed by another boy,"
"Did not," Demetri scoffed while he rolled his eyes.
"Uh yeah you did, I remember like it was yesterday, my mom even had to make those cookies that you li-"
"Are you guys enjoying the food?" I changed the subject quickly before any of them could grow frustrated.
"It's delicious y/n, thank you so much for inviting us," Eli smiled at me before taking a sip of water.
"It's no problem," I almost blushed
"Yeah thanks y/n," Demetri cleared his throat, "You'll have to excuse me for a minute," He gently wiped his mouth before walking towards the bathroom, leaving me and Eli alone in an awkward silence.
"Aren't we going to talk about what happened yesterday?" I finally spoke, taking the opportunity of us being alone.
His face made me regret my question almost instantly.
"I said I was sorry y/n, I really am, I sw-"
"No, not that," I almost groaned, not wanting to say it out loud.
Silence.
"What, tell me," He said in a delicate voice that send shivers across my body.
"T-the kiss, Eli,"
His faced flushed before he looked down, "I didn't mean to... Can we just forget about it?"
He did mean to?
Ouch
"Oh," I let out, "It's fine," I shook my head, disappointed by his answer. "I will,"
In my head, the kiss had finally been a turning point for us, leading us to the direction we once been in. But, I guess for him it was a simple impulse of a decision.
I wanted to scream into his face.
But I didn't.
"Did you miss me?" Demetri comically walked into the now tension-filled kitchen, joining us once again.
"Very much," I tried to shake off what just happened just like Eli seemed to have done.
"Did I miss something?" Demetri cringed at the sight of my uncomfortable face. "Should I go?"
"No, stay," Eli murmured before I could say something, "I was just about to leave, so stay and keep her company," He added in a even lower tone like I wasn't even there.
I now regretted my question so much.
"Thanks for the food y/n," He rubbed my arm, making my body shiver from his touch before leaving like he said he would.
"What was that about?" Demetri eyes widen.
"I-I don't know," I sighed heavily, my appetite completely gone. "I said something wrong, I messed it up ag-"
"Y/n, calm down ok?" Demetri said in the most reassuring voice, "I know he can be a bit weird sometimes, he doesn't know how to communicate, he just needs some space,"
"Did you hear us?" I raised my eyebrows, questioning on why he said exactly what I needed to hear.
"Sorry, couldn't handle it. You two are just so interesting," He shrugged in a nonchalant manner, earning an unexpected laugh for me.
"Yeah so interesting," I said sarcastically with a playful eye roll, "The girl who can't stop loving a boy that only likes her,"
"The girl who loves the boy that doesn't love himself," Demetri corrected with a clear of throat.
~~~
I was in the kitchen talking with Skylar about my not so exciting day when we hear an unexpected knock; Dawson was in his room and my uncle was deeply sleeping on the couch.
Eli?
"Loverboy?" Skylar wiggled her eyebrows at me in a teasing manner almost like she read my mind.
But I soon found out it wasn't him, it was someone even more unexpected; Tory.
"What do you want?" I asked though the barely opened door, "I'm not afraid to call the cops!"
"Don't, please," She sounded almost defeated, but I wasn't going to lower my guards down, not with her.
"Why are you here?"
"I came to apologize, I'm not expecting forgiveness but I still wanted to say sorry," She even backed up from the door, wanting to give me more space.
"How do I know that Kreese didn't send you here and that you're only going to mess with me again?"
"Because Eli came to speak to me. And if I hurt you again, I'm pretty sure he's gonna get me killed," She half laughed before getting serious again, "But seriously y/n, I'm so sorry, it was so wrong of me. I was so scared of getting evicted...Kreese promised me to help me out,"
"I get it," I fully opened the door even though I still didn't trust her yet, "Thank you for apologizing,"
"It's the bare minimum, I could've hurt you badly..."
"I-it's fine just don't let it happen again, I believe you're a good person," I nodded my head at her.
"Thanks y/l/n, you're not so bad either," She nodded back with a soft smile before getting into her car and driving away.
