"Demetri?" I screamed for him the moment I entered the arcade.
Quickly, I saw him laying weakly against the wall,
barely holding himself up while tears poured from his eyes.
Oh no
"Demetri oh my god... Are you okay, what happened?" I let out panicked, before crouching next to him.
"I was just playing some games in here, like I always do and Eli and his little friends came beating me up for no reason." He looked down embarrassed.
"I tried defending myself, but it was five against one, they took me down and- and-" He chocked up on his words. I rubbed his back, trying to reassure him.
I can't believe just how cruel they can be.
"Eli he-he" He took a deep breath. "He broke my arm y/n, he broke my arm."
I looked instantly at his arm, I could visibly see where it had broken. I flinched at the sight.
"That little jerk, I swear I'm gonna-"
"Don't y/n" He exhaled before putting a hand on my arm.
"Why do you keep defending him Demetri? It doesn't make any sense" I said frustrated.
"I could see in his face he regretted it"
"Well it doesn't change the fact that he hurt you, does it?" I tried to calm down. "You can't even participate in the All Valley now"
"Well, I was not your biggest shot at winning anyways" He shrugged while a soft smile appeared on his sad face.
~~~~
Demetri couldn't participate, but atleast he sat in the stands with Skylar and Dawson, cheering us on.
I felt bad for him, it's like he trained all summer for nothing.
My rage towards Eli had packed up within me, and I was ready to let it all out; I was going to avenge Demetri.
It was only thirty minutes before I had to get on the mat. I had absolutely no idea who I was fighting with; Some girl from another dojo.
I decided to stroll around the hallways, trying to relieve the bit of stress I had when I heard a familiar snicker coming from behind.
Eli.
My fist clench at the sight of him. How dare he hurt Demetri like that?
He quickly noticed me and his face became as serious as mine, the room filling up with tension while his friends laughed stupidly.
"You know what Eli" I walked towards him, not caring if his friends were around.
"Stop calling me that, it's Hawk." He scoffed while I ignored his useless comment.
"I have a lot of regret in my life, but meeting you has to be one of the biggest." I got in his face.
"Do you remember when you said you wouldn't let anything hurt me?" I said while his face unconsciously dropped. "Well I've never been hurt that badly by anyone."
He winced while I could visibly notice his temper rising. Why wasn't he speaking?
"Oh yeah? Like you're anything better." He scoffed getting even closer "You've been toying with my feelings from the beginning y/n and you know it." He grabbed my wrist tightly.
"Don't touch me" I spat while ripping myself from him.
I hated how he acted around his friends, he disgusted me.
He swiftly turned around and pushed me against the wall with his hand protecting the back of my head before pinning me down with one on his arm against my neck.
I looked up at him with deadly eyes before he grabbed me by the neckline of my shirt, aggressively pulling me towards him.
"What are you gonna do about it princess?" He said, his voice filled with venom to replace the nickname that was once full of love.
"Let her go" Robby appeared across from us, making Eli angrier.
He did let go, but only to get closer to Robby.
This wasn't the time to start a fight.
Eli looked at the both of us before opening his mouth again. "That's it y/n, why don't you let your little lover boy puppy fight your fights like you always do?" He turned towards Robby.
Robby's jaw clenched, making Eli's smirk even wider; he liked provoking Robby.
He faced me again.
"Does he know that you're mine?" His fingertips lifted my chin, forcing me to look into his cruel eyes.
"I am not yours. I never will be" I pushed his hand away. "I don't love you anymore."
I could see that I instantly hurt him.
I didn't care, he deserved it.
I walked away, intertwining my fingers with Robby on my way out, just to stab him deeper.
"Demetri was right, you don't fool anyone"
He liked provoking me, just like I liked provoking him.
"Watch your back Keene" Eli screamed from behind us.
~~~~
"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the annual All Valley Tournament!" The annoncer said before the crowd cheered.
I waved excitedly at Dawson from the edge of the mat.
"Take your seats, cause it's about to begin!" He added enthusiastically.
Of course I was nervous, but I knew I was ready; Mr.Larusso trained us for this.
As I was looking at the crowd, I soon saw sensei Lawrence, who was already looking at me,sitting right up from.
He nodded his head towards me and rose his fist while a proud smile appeared on his face.
"You can do this" He mouthed to me.
I smiled back at him and nodded proudly.
He was the only reason I was here today.
He looked rough. His beard wasn't shaved and he had big purple bags under his eyes; I couldn't figure out whether it was from lack of sleep or a fight.
It warmed my heart that he took his time to come see me fight.
"Dad?" I heard Robby murmured from beside me. I turned to him and he was looking at the same man I was; Johnny Lawrence.
Maybe I wasn't the one he came to see after all.
"Sensei Lawrence is your dad?" I whispered at Robby, my eyebrows furrowed. Robby got out of his trance.
"Umm yeah..." He looked down. I decided to stop talking about it because it seemed to be bothering him.
~~~~
"Remember the techniques, keep breathing and find your balance, I know you can do this." Mr.Russo patted our backs back, while Robby nodded seriously.
Robby and I got to the semi-finals, Sam was very close, but got eliminated by some other girl. She stayed proud of us even though she was upset.
I was so close to the finish line, I could taste victory. I wanted this more than I ever wanted anything in my entire life.
Robby was first.
My heart sank a little bit when I heard Eli's name. I was scared at what he was going to do, especially since he was already so mad at Robby.
Robby didn't seem scared at all.
Eli jumped on the mat before walking towards Robby confidently. He looked intensely into his eyes, like he wanted to kill him.
"Ready to face the furry of the hawk?" Eli scoffed at him, getting in his face while Robby's jaw clenched.
"Face me, bow"
"Face each other, bow"
"Fighting positions"
"Fight!"
My surroundings became blurry as all I could focus on was Robby, Eli, and my progressively beating heart.
Robby began by kicking up at Eli's face, but he dodged him.
Robby than kicked him some more, Eli blocking them constantly.
Eli was turned at an angle so Robby took the opportunity to kick him in the back, but it didn't go as planned; Eli grabbed his foot, pushing him on the ground before punching him in the chest.
1 point for Eli.
"Point, Hawk!" The referee announced while Robby got back up.
"Remember what you learned Robby!" Mr.LaRusso screamed from the sides while I started nervously biting my nails.
Robby closed his eyes and breathed heavily, finding his balance while Eli rolled his eyes mockingly.
"Fight!"
Eli came towards Robby, aggressively kicking him.
Robby dodged and turned around to face him again.
They each threw punches before Robby spun around and kicked Eli right on the cheek causing him to fall down.
1 point for Robby.
"Point Keene"
They both got back into position after Eli murmured something to him that I wasn't able to hear.
Robby looked even angrier.
"Fight"
Robby kicked Eli in the stomach but he blocked it just before Eli swung a couple of punches. The fight felt like it was taking forever to end.
After a while, Eli crouched, swept his legs from underneath him, causing Robby to fall down. Eli than kicked robby in the stomach with his ankle.
1 point for Eli.
"Point Hawk"
