Ring.

You had been back home nearly three days now.

Ring.

You hadn't seen Giyuu since your mother's party, but you had messaged him, more than usual.

Ring.

And your phone obviously wouldn't stop ringing until you answered it, so in your half asleep state, you reached over and grabbed the thing,  mindlessly pressing the little green button.

"Hello..." You groggily croaked.

"You sound...awake?" the other end of the line spoke, a hint of both confusion and sarcasm.

"Haha." You spoke with little humour behind your voice.

"I'll see you soon," Is all he said before hanging up.

You repositioned yourself before groaning and whacking your head against your pillow.

Before you could even shower, you heard the sound of chatter coming from your bedroom.

You groaned again right as Giyuu appeared in the doorway.

"Morning," he said, looking you up and down at your groggy sight.

You glared at him, which only made him almost laugh at you.

"What are you even doing here?" you asked, rubbing your eyes.

"I'm heading back to campus, and also my mum wanted to drop off flowers as a thank you for the other day,"

"Great," you sighed.

"When are you leaving?" his hands slid into his pockets.

"I had planned to leave tomorrow, but I'm kinda tempted to head back earlier,"

"We could head back together,"

"What about my car?"

"We'd be taking your car anyway. Mine is still back on campus because my mum ended up coming to visit and took me home with her,"

Your eyes lit up.

"Roadtrip....?" a grin kept up on your face.

"I guess," he shrugged.

You leapt out of bed and shoved past him, heading straight to the bathroom to wash up.

Giyuu pretty much just stared at you blankly before heading back to your living room.

You were showered and dressed in practically a heartbeat, and you immediately went back to your room to repack the few items of clothing and what not you took with you.

By the time you were eating the breakfast that had been made for you, Giyuu had left but agreed with both his mum and yours that he'd come and pick you up later.

"It's so refreshing to see you two getting along so well," she beamed, pouring you a glass of juice.

"Is it?"

"Yeah, me and his mum have dreamed of this since you two were born," she closed the fridge before sitting next to you, asking you about your classes and just everything in general.

"Make sure you come to visit more! I love having you home, and I'll try and convince your grumpy father to be more involved as well,"

-

As promised, Giyuu was back at your house bang on at 3 p.m., with practically nothing in his hands.

"I travel light," he justified as you unlocked the car door.

"We'll take turns in driving," you suggested.

"Works for me," he slumped in the passenger seat.

-

It was a 4 hour drive, and halfway through, you ended up stopping to stock up on snacks.

"I pity your dentist," he said, as you picked up 3 packs of Sour Patch Kids.

"Is that all?" the cashier asked as you placed everything down on the wooden surface.

You gave Giyuu a look and glanced over to the Skittles.

"Fine..." he sighed before watching you grab the last packet.

"Thank you," you smiled, walking out the shop.

He ruffled your hair in response before getting in the drivers seat.

The second half of the drive went quicker than first. Perhaps it was because you weren't driving or that you and Giyuu had quite a few conversations.

The art show had been on your mind recently, even though it wasn't until April, you wanted everything to he perfect. Particularly because your dad was going to be there, and you felt you had to prove yourself.

But you decided not to worry about it until the new year.

"You okay?" he asked, noticing you and zoned out.

You bit the inside of your cheek. "Yeah, I'm just thinking,"

"About?" his voice was calm and welcoming.

You talked to him about your dad and the artshow that was heavily weighing on your mind.

"L/n you're more talented than you give yourself credit for. It'll work out. I promise," his eyes were focused on the road, but you could tell it was sincere.

You ended up falling asleep in the last bit of the drive. You were so tired and sleep deprived, but Giyuu didn't seem to mind.

Still being winter, it was dark by the time you arrived back, Giyuu, of course, walked you back to your dorm and said goodbye in the form of another hair ruffle.

Mitsuri didn't seem to be back, and you weren't that hungry, so I ended up eating instant ramen and watching your favourite show.

You decided to push your thoughts about art to the side for a little while and focus on the present. You had lots of bits and pieces planned with your friends, from fancy dinner reservations to ice-skating, you couldn't wait.

You ended up drifting off with the TV in the background, quite excited for what was to come.
