Both January and February flew by, and all of a sudden, it was mid-March.

Spring was in the air, and the cold that had become so familiar to you had almost disappeared.

Your days were full, and you barely got a minute to yourself.

You bounced back from your dorms to the painting studio. From sketches to sculptures to paintings, you were creating quite the selection of things you were going to display.

Consequently, you and Giyuu hadn't hung out or talked in....a while.

You hadn't returned his calls, the odd text or so you had responded to, but it had been ages since you last properly spoke.

After thinking about what your dad expected from you, you decided that it was best to distance yourself (from nearly everyone) and focus on this showcase.

"Y/n..." Mitsuri walked up to you the morning after another allnighter.

"Are you alright?" she asked, sitting opposite you, placing a hand on your shoulder.

You nodded and went back to painting the canvas that was in front of you.

"I'm worried about you, Y/n, all of us are, even Sanemi,"

"I'm fine, Mitsuri, I promise, I just need everything to be perfect,"

"Oh honey..." she looked at you with sad eyes before pulling you into a hug. "Please look after yourself." she emphasised.

You reassured her you would, and she left you to it.

Later that day, when Mitsuri was out buying groceries, she bumped into none other than the boy himself.

"Kanroji?" Giyuu said, noticing her pink and green hair through the aisle of the shop.

"Giyuu! What a nice surprise, how have you been?"

"I've been fine. How's L/n?" he asked.

A more concerned look took over her usual smile.

"I'm worried about her. If I'm being honest, she's been working so hard, and I barely see her eat these days."

"Oh, so that explains why she hasn't talked to me the past month and a half," his hands slid into his pockets.

"Probably, I'd go see her if I were you. Make sure she's okay,"

"Yeah, maybe I will. Thanks, Kanroji,"

That evening, Mitsuri had dance practice, and you had the place to yourself.

It was silent as usual until you heard a gentle knock at the door.

You ran to open to it, only for someone to throw their arms around you and hug you tight.

By the way he held you, you knew exactly who it was.

"Fucking hell, L/n," he mumbled, wrapping his arms around you tighter.

At that moment, all the stress from the past month and a half came crashing down, and your eyes began to well up with tears.

He let you go and cupped your face in his hands, rubbing the pads of his thumbs against your cheek.

"It's okay, I'm here," he spoke gently.

You relaxed into his touch as he held your head against your chest.

A long but slightly shaky sigh escaped your lips.

You stood there for what seemed like hours, but in reality, it was just a few minutes.

The sound of his heartbeat nearly made you fall asleep, right there, and then.

"You know..." you began."we should probably move from just hugging in the hallway..."

He picked you up and carried you to the couch.

"Better?" he asked, allowing you to lie on his chest.

"Mhm," you mumbled against the fabric of his shirt, slowly drifting off to sleep.

"Sleep Y/n, I'm not going anywhere,"

"You called me Y/n," you sleepily said, smiling.

"That's your biggest concern right now?" you felt his chest move as he let out a soft chuckle.

"Mhm,"

He ran his hands through your hair as you finally, after what seemed like forever, fell asleep.

-

It was safe to say that that was quite possibly the best sleep of your entire life.

Giyuu fell asleep, too, and when you woke up, his arms were still wrapped around you.

"Good morning," he muttered, morning voice very apparent.

"Hey,"

"How did you sleep?"

"Amazing,"

"Oh yeah?" he sat up and hugged you from behind, before resting his head on your shoulder.

You almost melted into his embrace once more.

"I'm taking you out to that new waffle place, by the way,"

"When are you gonna let me buy you something?"

"Never," he spoke.

"Giyuu."

"Y/n." There was a pause. "You should say my name more often,"

"Noted,"

Giyuu insisted on going back to his place to shower and change out of last night's clothes. You wanted to do the same, so he agreed to come back and pick you up later.

Mitsuri snuck in through the door shortly after Giyuu left.

"Sorry I stayed at my boyfriend's house, and I'm assuming Giyuu stayed here because you haven't looked that well rested in a while," she smiled.

You chuckled before running a hand through your hair up so it was out of your eyes.

You slipped on one of your more casual outfits as it was just breakfast.

Although the weather was warmer, there was still a slight chill in the air, so you slipped a jacket on over the top and flared trousers you were wearing.

There was no point in making him walk all the way over to your dorm, so you met him outside on campus.

His eyes lit up as you walked towards him.

"My point still stands about letting me pay for once," you semi teased.

"I'll take a raincheck on that,"

-

"I swear half of this city is just places to eat. We just walked past 3 pizza places. on the same road!"

"There's a lot of hungry students, and someone's gotta feed them," he shrugged as you approached your destination.

It was quite busy when you went inside, but the place managed to squeeze you in as there were only 2 of you.

It felt great to eat such good food after so long, you topped it off with a nice cup of coffee which you insisted you payed for this time.

For just that hour, you forgot about the showcase.

And decided to focus on the present.

a/n: feeding y'all 💁‍♀️ things should be smooth sailing for now on, no more drama I promise 😝
