"I have high expectations of you, Y/n. Don't disappoint me." was the last thing your dad said before you hung up the phone and threw it against your wall.

He had made it abundantly clear that he was A, coming to the art show and B, that he expected you to be the next fucking Leonardo da Vinci.

It stressed you out.

In all honesty, you were desperate to prove yourself to him, and now you had the chance, but that meant slaving away in the studio until you collapsed, and were malnourished and sleep deprived, more than you already were.

Was it really worth it?

The situation weighed on your mind, and whilst you should've been finishing a mini portfolio for photography, you were sitting at your desk, staring at the wall and fiddling with a pen.

Mitsuri came in and offered you cookies she and Obanai had baked, and you accepted them, but you had no appetite whatsoever.

You placed the cookies to the side gracefully and let out a sigh before massaging the sides of your temples.

"Mitsuri?" You called out as you slipped on a pair of shoes and grabbed your sketchbook and paintbrushes.

She popped her head out.

"I'm going to art for a while,"

"Okay...don't overwork yourself,"

-

You entered the painting studio, used to the smell of paint, and it's rather ancient wooden floorboards by now.

It was rather empty, so you placed yourself in one of the centre tables, giving you an aesthetic view of all the work that hung on the walls.

Your gaze roamed around for a little while longer before you placed a canvas up on the easel and began mixing the colours and lightly marking out what you wanted where.

That took alone took you about 30 minutes.

But then, 30 minutes turned into an hour, and an hour turned into 2, and before you knew it, it was dark outside.

You wrapped your hoodie around you tighter before taking a sip of the energy drink you had gotten yourself.

Another hour couldn't hurt, right?

You had a lot of ideas and might aswell get them done sooner rather than later.

You took a deep breath and continued gliding the paintbrush down, then down some more, then left then right and until the entire thing was covered with black acrylic paint.

You felt a small sense of accomplishment knowing that you had gotten the first part done.

The studio was beginning to get colder, and Mitsuri was probably wondering where you were, so you called it day, right there, and then.

You left your things on the side so you could use them the next day.

Mitsuri sent you a text that everyone was on their way to Shinobu's dorm to play a few rounds of UNO, so you ended up going straight there.

However, as you walked down the corridors, you took notice of a rather small girl standing outside.

She looked to be just a few years younger than you, with a black side ponytail and a pink and green butterfly clip in her hair.

"Hey," you said, slowing down the pace you were walking.

She looked at you with wide eyes and allowed you to access Shinobu's dorm door.

You knocked on the door, and Shinobu answered.

"Y/n, you made it! And I see you've met Kanao,"

Kanao popped her head out from behind the wall and trailed in after you, rather silently.

As you walked through to where everyone was, you were met with a lot of new faces.

A boy with darkish red hair sat around the table, next to a girl who you assumed was his sister. Next to the girl, there was a boy with short yellow hair who seemed to be on the verge of screaming.

Your eyes shifted to the left, and you took notice of a girl...?

"Gimme your food!" he yelled.

Nevermind.

He just had a very feminine face.

A boy with a mohawk was next to Sanemi as well as a boy with seaweed looking hair.

It was quite the chaotic sight, and you weren't too sure what to do, so you just stood there until told otherwise.

"Come sit, Y/n!"  Mitsuri patted the chair next to her.

You rushed over and sat yourself down between Mitsuri and Shinobu, multiple sets of eyes following as you did so.

The room went silent.

"Kocho..." the boy with yellow hair began "who's that," he pointed at you.

"This Y/n, Mitsuri's roommate and of our best friends,"

"Oh Y/n, I nearly forgot to introduce the others," Mitsuri spoke suddenly.

You sat there with a blank expression as Mitsuri began pointing out everyone's names.

"That's Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Inosuke, Nezuko, Muichiro, and Sanemi's brother Genya!"

You greeted them all as Shinobu began dealing out the cards.

-

"Y/n if you place one more +4, our relationship will never be the same," Tengen placed a hand on his heart dramatically.

"Y/n, please do it," Zenitsu pleaded.

The room went silent as everyone waited in anticipation.

A smirk crept up on your face, and Tengen groaned as you smacked down the third +4.

"Third times a charm," you shrugged before taking a sip of the drink in your hand.

You played another 3 rounds before the others had to head back.

"It was nice meeting you Y/n!" Tanjiro smiled before Nezuko ran up to you and gave you a hug.

"Likewise!" you said, as parting words before Inosuke charged out the door, leaving everyone (apart from you) completely unphased.
