"Keep them closed, Y/n," Giyuu said as he guided you up the stairs.
Valentine's Day came around too quickly.
It had fallen on a Saturday, thankfully, so you and Giyuu could enjoy it without any worries.
You weren't sure exactly what he planned, but you assumed by the sound of chatter that could be heard, you were either at a restaurant or something like that.
"Okay, now stay there," he came to a halt.
"Open your eyes,"
The moment your eyelids fluttered open, you were met with the most beautiful view.
"Oh. My. God." you spoke.
It seemed like a rooftop bar, except the only people there were you and him.
A table sat a few metres ahead of you, covered with rose petals, balloon, candles, and a rather large and expensive looking bouquet of flowers.
With the sun slowly setting, the city lights began to glow.
It was magical.
Truly, and effortlessly magical.
After processing what was in front of you, Giyuu spoke your name.
"Y/n,"
His voice was soft and gentle, like the rose petals that were scattered near you.
"I love you."
Your heart must've skipped a hundred beats.
He stepped forward until there was just inches between you.
"Say it again," you spoke gently.
"I love you, Y/n, so much. I think I've always loved you. Even when I dumped paint over your head when we were kids. Even when we'd go months without speaking. I'll love you as long as I live, my heart possesses every letter of your name, and god, you make me feel things. Things I never thought I'd feel, Y/n,"
He was almost breathless, and he was so close you could just about feel his hair tickle your skin.
Your hands gravitated towards his, fingers interwining, so easily.
"I love you so so so so much more. I never thought I'd fall for you, but I'm so glad I did. You saved me, in every way a person can be saved. I'll love you always, Giyuu. I'll be yours forever,"
His lips found their way to yours milliseconds after you stopped speaking.
You held each other close as his lips stayed against your own.
You both pulled away, smiling.
"We should probably order food before it's too late," he mumbled.
"We probably should," you smiled.
-
The restaurant below kindly brought your orders up.
As per usual, you and Giyuu got the most delicious pasta dishes.
"One creamy garlic chicken for the lady," the waitress placed the first plate down. "And the seafood pasta for you. Enjoy your meal, guys,"
She walked away, leaving you and Giyuu to yourselves once more.
"Satisfied?" he asked as you finished eating.
"Very," you crossed your legs and rested your chin in your hand.
"Where would you like to go next?" you asked.
"You decide," he persisted.
You thought about it for a second.
"There's one of those outdoor movie theatres down the road,"
"Let's go, then princess," he got out his chair and offered you a hand.
He paid for the meal downstairs before guiding you out into the evening air.
It was peaceful.
You felt peaceful.
Slightly uncomfortable in heels, you ended up popping back to his place to change into something slightly more comfy and practical.
"I would've gladly carried you all the way there and back," he proposed.
"You're too much," you jokingly shook your head.
The sun had set by the time you arrived. Giyuu set out a blanket to which you perched yourself, right before the film started.
The words "Love Actually" appeared on the screen. To which you and Giyuu exchanged glances too.
You ended up resting your head on his thigh halfway through, and Giyuu gladly played with your hair as you did so.
Despite it being Valentine's Day, it wasn't as busy as you thought it would be. The atmosphere was so soothing, the film was basically all you could hear.
Giyuu pressed soft, quick kisses to your forehead every so often, whispering teasing comments now and again also.
"Chocolate strawberry?" he asked.
You opened your mouth, and he popped one in.
"Thank you," you smiled.
-
After over two hours, the film ended, and you ended up in Giyuu's lap, kissing him under the moonlight.
"Can you believe it's getting close to a year since you first kissed me," you stated, as you ended the evening with a walk.
"Time has gone so fast," he added.
"Soon you'll be graduating,"
"Don't remind me," he shook his head.
"Hey, we'll get through these next few months together, okay?" You gave his hand a reassuring squeeze.
-
Feelings of tiredness began to run through your body as it grew closer and closer to midnight.
The night was young, and you and Giyuu were still out, appreciating how the moon was casting its glow over the landscape in front of you.
"Giyuu," you said, looking out at the view on the bridge you were currently standing on.
"Yes, darling?"
"I love you," you said, locking your eyes on him.
"I love you more, Y/n,"
