Adeptus Xiao sat quietly on a spacious tree branch in Wangshuu Inn... With Wei Feng sitting behind him making tiny braids on his hair which he didn't mind.

The soft touch the Wei Feng gives the Yaksha makes him feel at ease. He wanted to feel something like this for eternity.

When the girl was done she planted her chin on Xiao's shoulder overlooking Liyue in front of them, Xiao subconsciously leaned his head towards her as they relaxed.

"Shouldn't the Yaksha be going around and slaying some demons?" Wei Feng question, the said Yaksha just scoffed before side-eyeing her. He knows that she knows the reason why he isn't fighting demons, one there aren't any big threats, and two Wei Feng was with him. Simple.

Xiao felt Wei Feng yawned and snuggled closer to his neck, but the Yaksha noticed she would feel uncomfortable in this position. Careful moving her he insisted on letting her sit on his lap while she naps softly. Ever since the wars they've experienced years ago, she would constantly get tired. Making the timid girl sleep more than before.

He still remembers the words that Cloud Retainer told him when he allowed Wei Feng to leave her abode.

"One who is delicate will not be as strong as jade. Yaksha, One must ask this favor. One who is strong must protect the one who can be broken easily."

He noticed how weaker she is than before, he must know why she has been greatly affected. He should be the one feeling more pain than her, but why is it the opposite?

"Rex— Zhongli, I'm curious about something." Wei Feng questioned when she braided(again) Zhongli's long amber brown hair, and the Archon smiled at her actions.

'She never changed.'

"And what is the question that made you curious?" He asked, taking a sip on his tea.

"Why is Xiao so fond of me?" She asked, Zhongli  froze in the middle of taking a simp on his drink. His gaze fell to Wei Feng.

Even years after taking in Xiao, he noticed how he easily attached himself to Wei Feng. So it must be fated then. Zhongli smiled and looked away, "The answer to that question must be answered by you."

"Also Wei Feng, be prepared for the events tomorrow..."

What did he mean? Simple, The Geo Archon's dragon fell from the sky for the Rites here in Liyue.

Wei Feng watched the 'Archon' fall from the sky and made a harsh fall to the ground. The Qixing, Keqing, Ganyu, and Winter took action and followed the orders of the Qixing. Meanwhile Wei Feng remained hidden within the trees around the gathering of people.

But her eye caught something, a familiar blonde man with... A floating cloud?

She was about to catch and rush them but Winter felt her presence and looked at the Adepti who was hiding, sending her a nod to Wei Feng before going to Keqing informing her about the new guest

The Qixing called upon the timid adepti and asked a favor to scout the whole area of Liyue Harbour just for measures and if she notice somrthing very suspicious.

News spread about what happened to the Geo Archon. According to the contract she made, Wei Feng rushed where Adeptus Xiao is.

Arriving at Wangshuu Inn, she called;

"Xiao?"

Her small timid voice called out, a sound behind her appeared making her jump in shock.

Then she heard a scoff.

"You've known me for years, Wei Feng. How come you are still shocked just by my appearance?" He said crossing his arms, giving her a frown.

But Wei Feng smiled, "Because the Yaksha always surprises me with his sudden appearance by just calling his name."

Xiao just stared at her smile, wanting to protect it till the very end.

He spoke to Wei Feng about the blonde man or the Traveler about the news about Rex Lapis, in a aay Xiao is devistated from the news but Wei Feng comforted him as much as she can and even gave him almond tofu. She felt guilty, hiding the secret that his Archon is still alive and well just working at a funeral parlour.

The timid adepti walked around Liyue for a night patrol before joining Xiao to rest at the Wangshuu Inn, she felt a dangerous presence.

Whipping her flute out she played a tune and a slash of anemo went out, slicing an arrow in half.

"So this is Mr. Zhongli's student." The ginger head male said, she noticed his outfit. A Fatui.

Wei Feng didn't speak and remained strong as a timid adepti.

Without warning she played a longer song, suddenly the Fatui Harbinger: Childe felt something attached to him, an anemo aura was around him.

Noticing the teal colored glow on the highlights of Wei Feng he smiled excitedly and nervously at Wei Feng.

"Well, this is going to be interesting..."

With a blink of an eye, Wei Feng disappeared. Suddenly a large attack of anemo hit from behind and saw that Wei Feng was playing her flute sending multiple attacks on him even if she isn't looking.

'She marked me?' He finally understood the aura. He guessed to land a hit on her to remove the mark, so he aimed the arrow at her when she wasn't looking while playing the flute and shot...

And suddenly a Geo Pillar appeared before her.

"Enough Childe... I wouldn't want to see you as a corpse for harming my precious adepti."

Out of all Adepti that has been loyal to Rex Lapis, Wei Feng is an adepti who he raised with a pure and innocent mind.

He would destroy the whole land if Wei Feng has passed... But the question that will remain unanswered;

Why?

Why is Wei Feng precious to Rex Lapis?

Why would he willingly destroy the land for a weak and timid adepti?

But he revealed it to one Adepti...

"Even an Archon can fall in love... But I adored a human, I let the one I adored die during the war. Leaving me and my Wei Feng... I swore to protect her from those who will harm her..."

Author's Note:

To those who are confused, Zhongli has a female lead and it is NOT the Goddess of Dust.

Zhongli/Rex Lapis has a child (For the sake of the story, please avoid making Xiao make Zhongli his father because I don't want like a sibling relationship).

Wei Feng is in fact Older than Xiao, but to the people of Liyue, she is seen as younger than the Yaksha because of her timid appearance.
