It was 10 p.m. now, and Sophia and Chris had just gotten back from their date night, so they were both exhausted. They'd gone to their favorite spot and laid out a picnic, just like they did on their very first date.

They were both lying in bed together. Sophia kept snuggling closer to Chris, trying to keep her body warm. She laid her head on his chest, feeling his heartbeat under her cheek, while he put his arms around her waist and kissed the top of her head. Overwhelmed by the love she was feeling, she snuggled closer.

For her, there was nothing better than falling asleep next to Chris. With them, every day still felt like a honeymoon. She still got so damn nervous when he was around, and her heart still sped up when he looked at her.

Chris interrupted her thoughts. "Good night, baby," he whispered in a raspy voice that sounded angelic to her. Just like she'd predicted, she felt her heartbeat speed up. "Good night, Chris," she said as she looked up at him.

Seeing her beautiful face always brought a smile to Chris' face. When he looked at her, his heart almost jumped out of his mouth from beating so hard. He kept running his fingers through her hair, trying to make her fall asleep again, but he couldn't help it. "I love falling asleep next to you," he whispered in her ear, and she hummed in agreement.

They were quiet for some seconds before suddenly, an idea popped into Sophia's mind. She shot up from her previous position. "Can we go watch the stars on the roof?" Sophia asked, clapping her hands excitedly.

He didn't even get a chance to answer because she was already begging him to go. "Please, please, please, Chris, can we go?" she pleaded.

Chris only smiled, knowing that he would've said yes either way. "We can go after you give me a kiss," he said while he grabbed her chin, pulling her closer. Both leaned in and pressed their lips together, the fireworks in their hearts never ceasing.

They pulled back slowly, but their faces stayed close together. They held deep eye contact until Chris grabbed her hand and pulled her up with him, quickly grabbing a blanket in his other arm. They both ran downstairs, in matching pajamas, giggling out loud like two little children.

They got outside, and Chris helped steady her so that she could climb the ladder on the back of the house easier. They'd put the ladder there after they started going on the roof more frequently. Each rung of the ladder carried the memories of previous nights spent beneath the starry sky.

Once they were both laying on the rooftop, they covered themselves with the blanket Chris had brought. They were both looking up at the sky, seeing the beautiful stars and the big moon.

Feeling connected to her every time they went on that roof together, Chris took her hand and intertwined their fingers. His gaze never left the bright stars.

They sat quiet for a minute before Chris stretched his arm out and pointed to the brightest star, turning Sophia's attention to him and him only.

He put his head on top of hers. "You see that bright star in the sky?" He asked. She shook her head no. "The one that seems to be lighting up the whole dark sky tonight?" He said while he pointed aimlessly at the sky. Sophia's eyes wandered a little until they found the brightest star right over them.

She now nodded at him. "Yeah, I see it now," she breathed out. He let his hand come back down. "That's our love," he said, and Sophia immediately felt her cheeks heat up, and her heart beat a million times faster.

"Our love?" she asked, not really understanding the connection between their love and the bright star.

"Yeah. You see," he started. "that particular star is lighting up the whole sky, just like you light up my days, my weeks, my life," he whispered, taking their intertwined hand and putting it on his chest. "Can you feel my heartbeat speed up?" he asked.

Feeling his heart pump a lot faster, she nodded.

"You do this to me," he said.

She smiled, pulling herself closer to him. She leaned her head on his shoulder. "You light up my life too, Chris, so much more than I'd ever expected" she whispered back, looking at his side profile. She'd never know how she struck so much luck with Chris.

He was perfect for her, and she was perfect for him. There was no doubt about that.

Chris, feeling eyes on him, now looked down at her too. Once his eyes were on her, he knew that they weren't leaving his girlfriend's face anytime soon. "Can you promise me something, baby?" he asked, turning on his side completely and putting a hand on her cheek.

She put her hand over the one he had on her cheek. "Of course," she said, and her breath was visible in the air because of how cold it actually was outside.

He leaned closer, his eyes still glued to hers. "Promise me this is forever," he said stretching out his pinky, a sweet little smile now present on his face. It was a smile like one she'd never seen before.

She opted for a simple answer, interlocking their pinkies. "Like you said, Chris. Til death do us part baby," she added for him, using his words on himself, causing him to laugh out loud.

He kissed her lips softly. "And not a second sooner?" he asked.

"Not a second sooner," she confirmed.

"Can we go back to bed now? I'm freezing my fucking ass off"

this story is now officially over and i can't believe that i actually made this happen, i finished my first book.

sophia and chris will forever be in my heart and i love them and this story so so much that im going to miss writing them a lot, so..

it's with a heavy heart that i say goodbye to you guys. thank you all so so much for reading this aswell as for the comments and love you showed me and chris and soph.
