Sophia and Chris walked into the triplets' house, still chuckling about something only they understood. "I can't believe that you would do something like that," Sophia said, her hand in Chris's as his arm rested on her shoulder.
He pulled her in a bit closer. "You know damn well I'd do anything," he teased, planting a quick kiss on the tip of her nose. Before she could retort, their private moment got crashed by the sense that everyone's eyes were on them.
They reluctantly pulled away and looked up to find all their friends staring. Exchanging a quick glance, they took a deep breath.
"Fine. You guys have 1 minute to ask all the questions, go," Chris said, and their friends didn't waste a second. Questions flew from all directions, Sophia caught sight of her best friend, Sasha, raising an eyebrow with an amused smirk. "So, spill the beans, you two! What's going on?" Sasha demanded, her curiosity evident.
Sophia exchanged a glance with Chris, a shared smirk revealing that they were enjoying the attention. "Alright, alright," Chris chuckled. "We'll spill, but we'll make it quick"
"We got together yesterday." Sophia answered while pointing at Chris who then continued their conversation. "We're officially girlfriend and boyfriend" He said before pointing back at Sophia "Questions done" She finished.
They knew that their friends had way more questions, but they'd have to be satisfied with this, so they all nodded along. In the middle of all the cheers and playful banter, Chris couldn't resist stealing another quick glance at Sophia. Their eyes met, and an unspoken understanding passed between them, a shared excitement for this new chapter in their relationship.
Matt was the first to stand up and say something. "We need to film today. Do you guys want to be in it?" Matt asked Sophia in particular. Sophia felt goosebumps rise on her arms.
Chris grabbed her chin and turned her to him. "I know this is hard for you. You don't have to do it. Nobody's expecting you to," he whispered, his eyes meeting hers.
She smiled sweetly but nodded. "I want to be in the video. I want them to see us together, you know?" She said back, and he nodded proudly at his girlfriend.
"They need to get used to it anyway because I love you, so you're going to be in the videos a lot more often," he added, looking at their friends, his arm still around her shoulder.
Matt clapped his hands together. "Let's go then. We're going to do a baking challenge video. Is that alright for you?" He said, looking around to find everyone nodding back in agreement.
They all went over to the kitchen, and Nick started getting things out of the cabinets. He positioned them all on the table while Chris set up the camera.
"Come here, baby," he said while looking through the camera and waved the girl over. She walked up slowly until she was standing in front of the camera. She waved at the video.
Chris zoomed in slightly, showing off her gorgeous smile and rosy, blushing cheeks. "Look at my gorgeous girlfriend," he said while she looked down shyly, trying to hide her smile.
"Come on, don't get all shy now," he smirked, and she hid her face in her hands. "Stop," she dragged out the "o," while running her hands down her face and walking over to him.
She threw her hands around him and snuggled her face into his chest. "I love you," she mumbled into him. He hugged her back and pressed a kiss to her forehead. "I love you too, baby," he said.
Matt, looking from the side, was nodding like a proud dad. "Wow, I can actually feel the spark between them," Matt whispered to Sasha, who had just joined his side.
"Same, Matty, same," she said.
They set everything up, and Chris pressed record. He walked over to the table, looking over at the side where Sophia and her friends were watching them start the video before it was their time to come into frame.
"So, today we have some special guests that are here to help us bake this shit. Chris said while he yanked the packet out of the cake mix box. He waved the girls over.
The girls walked up behind the table, waving at the camera. They all spread out between the boys, but Sophia stuck to Chris's side at all times. He immediately snugged his arm around her waist while Nick explained the challenge.
"We're doing it in groups. It's going to be Chris and Soph," he said, making Chris and Sophia dab each other up. "Me and Aurora," he said, looking over at the girl, who sent him a thumbs-up. "Sasha and Matt, and last but not least, Nova and Madeleine. One of each group will be blindfolded while the other can only direct them. For the sake of our guests, they will be the blindfolded ones," he continued explaining the video.
Chris leaned closer to Sophia's ear. "We're definitely going to win. We're the dream team," he said, and she nodded along, not unaware of the goosebumps rising up her back.
Chris took the blindfold and slowly turned Sophia to face him. He put the blindfold on her. "Is it too tight?" He asked. "No, thanks," she said while she turned back around, patting the space around her.
All of the girls were now blindfolded. The kitchen buzzed with anticipation as Chris handed Sophia a whisk, his eyes dancing with playful excitement.
"Alright, love, let's whisk up some magic. Give it a whirl," he instructed, his voice filled with encouragement, while he made a whirl movement with his hand.
Sophia, blindfold securely in place, grasped the whisk slowly, her fingers grabbing the air before finding the bowl. With a confident sweep, she began whisking, those sounds blending with the kitchen's lively atmosphere and talk from the groups.
Chris, leaning in closer to her ear, guided her movements. "You're a natural, Sophia. Keep it going." He whispered.
She whisked for what she thought to be hours, before Chris tapped her once on her shoulder to let her know that it was done. He grabbed the whisk from her hands and put it in the dishwasher.
He walked back over to Sophia. "Now, let's move on to the next masterpiece," Chris said, leading her hands to the countertop where all of the ingredients awaited.
He placed a mixing bowl in her hands. "We're doing the cupcake batter so you're going to have to crack two eggs. Be careful. Listen to my voice."
Sophia's fingers sifted through the table, a playful smile evident even behind the blindfold. She grabbed the eggs. "How careful are we talking here?" She said throwing one in the air and catching it again, even with her eyes blindfolded.
Chris chuckled in astonishment. "Just enough to make it a cupcake, not an explosion." he leaned closer and kissed her shoulder. "That was very impressive by the way" He said, making Sophia bite her lip.
Their friends, observing the interaction between the newly found couple, exchanged very amused glances.
Sasha, watching with a grin, nudged Matt. "This is gold. Who knew blindfolded baking could be this entertaining?" Matt simply laughed in agreement. "They're turning flour into some weird sense of art."
Sophia was now measuring all of the necessary ingredients that were left. Chris continued to provide gentle guidance. "A bit more sugar... perfect. Now, let's mix it up." Said and done. Sophia grabbed the whisk again and mixed.
Looking over her shoulder, Chris felt nothing but pride at their mixture. "Alright, we're onto something here," He announced, his enthusiasm very contagious.
They all finished their cupcakes and put them in the oven. As the timer ticked down they heard it go off, meaning that the cupcakes were now baked. Chris took this chance and smoothly transitioned to the decorating phase. "Now, for the grand finaleβcupcake decoration."
With Sophia's eyes still covered, Chris took on the role of her culinary guide again, his voice a soothing presence amidst the kitchen mayhem.
"Okay, babe, step forward," Chris directed, guiding Sophia toward the counter. The anticipation in his voice hinted at a mischievous plan.
Sophia giggled nervously. "What are you up to?"
"Trust me," Chris whispered, his hands gently guiding hers. Suddenly, Sophia felt the cool touch of frosting on her fingertips as Chris initiated an impromptu cupcake-decorating moment.
Laughter erupted from their friends as they witnessed the playful exchange. Chris, with a sly grin, leaned in and whispered, "Consider it our secret ingredient." He knew that behind the blindfold, she was rolling her eyes at him right now.
As they continued the blindfolded baking, Chris couldn't resist sharing playful banter with Sophia. "Left a bit, careful... okay, now grab the sugar." He said. Sophia didn't grab the sugar though. "No, not my hand, the sugar!" Chris laughed out.
Sophia couldn't help but chuckle along, feeling a sense of trust in Chris's guidance. "Maybe blindfolded baking should be a regular thing for us."
Chris winked, even if she couldn't see it. "Who needs sight when we've got chemistry in the kitchen?" he pinched her side slightly.
As the timer signaled the end of the challenge, Chris carefully removed Sophia's blindfold. She blinked, adjusting to the sudden light, and found herself face to face with the flour-covered, frosting-adorned masterpiece they had created together.
Their eyes met, and Chris couldn't resist the magnetic pull between them. In a tender moment, he brushed a speck of flour from her cheek, their laughter blending into a shared warmth that transcended the kitchen chaos.
"Voila!" Chris announced, presenting their cupcakes to the group.
The friends gathered around, admiring the unique creations. Matt, with a raised eyebrow, teased, "Are those cupcakes or modern art installations?"
"They could be both"
Chris, with a mischievous glint in his eye, picked up one of the cupcakes from their batch. "Alright, baby, let's see if our masterpiece tastes as good as it looks."
Sophia chuckled, her anticipation matching Chris's enthusiasm. They each took a bite of the same cupcake, savoring the combination of flavors. A moment of silence followed as they both relished the taste.
After a thoughtful pause, Chris broke into a grin. "I think we already have a winner here."
Sophia, in agreement, nodded with a mouthful of cupcake. It was a unanimous decision β their cupcakes were definitely the best.
Their friends, noticing the exchanged glances and shared smiles, couldn't help but join in the lighthearted moment. They ate from all the batches and Matt, playfully raising an eyebrow, declared, "Well, it looks like Chris and Sophia are the really and most surely cupcake champions."
Sasha, with a smirk, added, "Guess we'll have to accept defeat in the face of true baking prowess."
"Why are you talking like that"
