You were debating with yourself if yesterday was a dream.
Despite the attitude and the evident dislike he has for people, he liked you. Thinking about this, you got up of your bed distracted, completely forgetting the fact that your mother told you last night that she's going to be there for the morning. So when you went down and smelled breakfast, you actually stopped and took a moment of silence.
You also realized you haven't told your mother that you already have a boyfriend.
"Waking up on time, hmm?" your mother asked.
"Oh, uh, yeah. You too?"
She glanced at you, weirded out by the question but nodded.
"So, uhm, I have to tell you something." You didn't want to wait any longer because the more you do, the more guilty (somehow) and anxious you get.
"Tell me over breakfast, dear," she calmly replied. There are only a few times in your life where you've had breakfast with your mother so you decided to tell her later, you just have to be nervous a little longer.
After taking a bath, you checked in on your brothers. They wake up later than you do and so you weren't surprised to see them still snoring. Before joining your mother downstairs, you wake your brothers up.
However, what you thought was just a normal morning turned to be... not. You assumed this morning would just be a little nerve racking than the others but you didn't think that it would be so much.
It started when your brother, Aito, asked you, "Do I need to have a girlfriend or a boyfriend?"
You were just going to go out of the room but he stopped you with it. "Huh?"
Itsuki, who sleeps below Aito on the bunk bed, sat up. "Is mom here?"
"Ahm, yeah," you replied. You wished Aito forgot even if there's only a little chance he would.
Well, "Onee-san, do I have to?" he really didn't.
"No no no, you don't have to, where did that even come from?"
"All the aunties last night kept saying that I'm so cute but soon, I will have one of those. Then they complained that time is going too fast."
You walked towards Aito, "they aren't absolutely wrong though, soon, you may have one of those. But you don't have to."
"Good answer, Sakura!" you cheered mentally. You were shaken up by the questions since it seemed that fate was messing with you.
He asked you that the day after you got yourself a boyfriend. Coincidence? I think not!
"How about you, onee-san, do you have one!?" He asked excitedly.
Not yet answering, he followed up another question, "Would mom like you to have one?"
Feeling the pressure, you felt the nonexistent breakfast in your stomach go up your throat. You were so nervous of telling your mother that you didn't think of how she'd react.
"Aito, stop being so noisy in the morning," Itsuki, who was still sitting on his bed, interrupted your conversation.
"Get ready, you two."
Walking towards the dining room, Itsuki caught up to you.
"Onee-san," he called, "Sakusa-kun is your boyfriend, isn't he?"
A shiver went up your spine, "Ha?"
"I saw him with you last night through the neighbour's window. He kissed you—" he pointed at his own forehead "—here, didn't he?"
You panicked and it felt like your pupils are spinning.
"Don't worry, onee-san," he smiled, "I won't tell anyone else if you don't want to."
"Itsuki!" you squealed before hugging your poor shy brother.
You let go of him after a few seconds.
"Ah, speaking of boyfriend, I should probably text him, don't I?"
Itsuki blinked a few time before tilting his head to the left, "You haven't already?"
Embarrassed, you rubbed the back of your head and slowly walked away.
6:28 am
Good morning, Kiyoomi!
You have morning practice right?
Make sure to eat breakfast!
6:28 am
Kiyoomi♡♡ is calling you...
"Good morning, have you told your mother yet?"
You clicked your tongue and spoke teasingly, "Don't dodge the question, Kiyoomi."
"I will. Have you told your mother yet?" he asked again.
"Uh, no. Not yet. I'm nervous." You sat down on your bed and sighed. Will you ever have the guts to tell your mother?
"Don't bother."
"Huh!? Are you breaking up with me?"
"What? Why would I do that?"
"Well..." you trailed off as you realized that it sounded ridiculous.
"Wait for me before you tell your mom."
"Huh? You're coming here?"
"Yes."
You stuttered a few words before he cut you off by saying, "Let's walk to school together."
"Kiyoomi," you spoke after sighing. "You don't have to do this just because we're together. Won't walking be troublesome for you?"
"Not that troublesome," he whispered, "It's okay, I want to, Sakura."
Taking a deep breath, you decided that it'll be better if your mother meets him. "Just today, we'll walk to school together. What time will you come?"
"I'll leave the house in around 10 minutes."
"Will Komori come with you?"
"No."
"Really? Why?"
"What do you mean 'why'? Is he your boyfriend?"
"No."
"There's your answer."
Chuckling to yourself, you bid him goodbye and quickly went downstairs.
With each minute passing by, you grew nervous. After breakfast, your two brothers went to get ready for school since they leave the house later than you do. While you stood awkwardly by your door, waiting for Kiyoomi.
"Sakura," your mom called, "Aren't you leaving for school yet?"
"Oh, uh, uhm, I'm waiting for someone."
"Ah, you're going to walk with someone? That's nice."
Suddenly, you hear your phone ping with a message. On your lockscreen, a message from Kiyoomi is being displayed. He's here.
You opened the door and there he was, by your gate, waving at you. Of course he has his mask on and he's also wearing his tracksuit.
"Oh, who is that tall guy?" Your mom peeked behind you. You dashed outside to open the gate.
"Oh, my!" She covered her gaping mouth with her hand. "Is he your boyfriend?" You hear your mother asks she approached you.
Kiyoomi pulled his mask down and bowed a little, "Good morning, I'm Sakusa Kiyoomi."
"Good morning, young man, are you her boyfriend?"
"Yes, I am," he spoke without sounding nervous. But he is. Incredibly so.
You smiled at your mother, out of happiness and as a way to cover up your own nervousness.
"That's great!" Your mom clapped her hands once, "Ah, really really great! I thought she was too busy taking care of her brothers that she doesn't have fun in school but now, you have a boyfriend!"
You finally breathed freely without feeling your heart rising up to your throat before every time you did.
"Are you an athlete?"
"I'm a volleyball player."
"That explains the tracksuit. Well, you two have fun. And off you go, you must have morning practice."
Waving goodbye, you both started your first ever mini date after he pulled his mask up.
"I was so nervous," you said, "Aito asked me earlier if I have a boyfriend and he mentioned that mom might not like me to have one."
He sneakily linked you arms together before humming in response to your statement. You continued rambling on about your morning before he stopped you by handing you a mask, similar to his own.
"Wear this."
"We're going to match!" You excitedly commented. Luckily, it is still quiet and so, no cars were passing by. Not that there were a lot before, you're walking the route to school where there's not a lot of vehicles.
That's the plan, he thought.
You wore it and quickly brought your phone up with your camera app open. "Crouch down, Kiyoomi."
He did and you both held up peace signs before you took the picture. Kiyoomi knew he's going to use that as his wallpaper.
[Hey, thank you for the reads! In the tag 'sakusakiyoomi', this book reached the #2 spot a few days ago, I think. Although, this changes frequently, Jealousy At Its Finest ranks in the top 10 and 20s in the tag 'sakusa' and it is really exciting!]
