Chapter Nine
πΊ Wolf's Bane πΊ
"You're going to fast!" Scott yelled and Amara smirked, "No girl is ever gonna love you with that mentality." She said before she pressed harder on the gas pedal. "Also, that's the whole point of a car chase, Scotty. You're supposed to drive faster then the person chasing you." She said, glancing back at Kate Argent's car. Currently, Amara, Scott and Stiles were in Derek's car in the middle of a car chase with Kate.
Stiles throws nervous glances back at Kate who kept going faster whenever Amara did. "I think she's catching up!" Stiles said from the back seat and Amara smirked, "Not for long." She said then pushed the gas pedal to the floor.
"Amara you're gonna kill us!" Scott yelled from the passenger seat and Amara smiled, "Dying in a car chase. Cool." She said. Stiles back to see Kate no longer driving behind them, "They're gone." He said and the glances to the police scanner in his lap and raises the volume. "All units, suspect is on foot heading into the Iron Works." They heard someone say making Amara sigh.
"Hold on to something." Amara said and then a few second later she took a sharp turn into the Iron Works. Scott climbed into the back seat while Amara skidded to a stop in front of Derek. She reached over, throwing the door open for him, "Get in, dickwad!" She yelled and he made a beeline to the car.
Tires spin across the pavement, kicking up dust as Amara took off while bullets hit the side of the car. "What part of laying low don't you understand?" Scott questioned and Derek groaned in frustration, "I had him!" He yelled in frustration and Amara cocked an eyebrow, "The Alpha?" She asked and he nodded.
"He was right in front of me. And then the idiot police show up." He said and Stiles leaned forward slightly, "Hey, hey, hey, they're just doing their jobs." He tried to defend them but Derek shot him a look making Stiles sit back. "Thanks to someone who decided to making me the most wanted fugitive in the state." Derek said throwing a glare back at Scott, "Can we seriously get past that? Yes, I made a dumbass mistake. I get it." Scott defeated.
"How'd you find him?" Stiles asked and Derek fell silent. "Can you try to trust us for half a second?" Scott asked and Stiles leaned forward, "Both of us." He said making Derek look back at him with a homicidal glare.
"Or how about trust the person your cousin." Amara said making Derek look away at her and sigh, "The last I time I talked to my sister, she was close to figuring something out. She found two things. The first was a guy named Harris." Derek explained. "Our asshole chemistry teacher?" Amara asked as she glanced over at him.
"Why him?"
"I don't know."
"What's the second?" Amara asked, "Some kind of symbol." Derek said and then pulls out a folded up piece of paper and opens it to show a simple sketch. Scott and Amara takes one look and Scott let out a hopeless sigh, "What? You know what this is?" Derek asked.
"I've seen it. On a necklace." Scott said. Slowing the Camaro when it was safe, Amara looked at a drawing of the symbol for the Beast of GΓ©vaudan and nodded, "Allison's necklace."

Scott and Amara followed Stiles through the double doors into school, "This is going to be impossible, you know?" Scott said as they walked through the hall. "Just ask her if you can borrow it." Stiles shrugged, "How?" Scott asked.
"It's easy! You just say, Hey, Allison, can I borrow your necklace to see if there's anything on it or in it that can lead me to an Alpha Werewolf that I need to kill in order to get back together with you?" Stiles said making Scott and Amara give him a look, "While that is the fun option- no." Amara said then looked at Scott.
"Why don't you just try talking to her?" She asked and he sighed, "She won't talk to me! What if she, like, only takes it off in the shower or something?" He asked. "That's why you ease- that's why you ease back into it, okay? Get back on the good side. Remind her of the good times. And then you ask for the necklace." Stiles said and then they noticed the slight distant look on Scott's face.
"Are you thinking about Allison in the shower?" Amara asked and he nodded sheepishly, "Yeah." He said and she gave him a look before smacking the back of Scott's head. "All right. Stay focused, okay? Get the necklace. Get the Alpha. Get cured. Get Allison. In that order. Got it?" Stiles said and Scott nodded.

Stiles, Amara and Scott burst through the double doors out of one corridor and into the next. "How the hell did he find out?" Stiles asked, apparently Jackson found out about Scott some how and had confronted him, "I have no idea." Scott said and Amara raised her eyebrows.
"Did he say it out loud? The word." She asked and Scott looked at her confused, "What word?" He asked. "Werewolf. Did he say I know you're a werewolf?" Stiles asked and Scott shook his head, "No, but he implied it pretty freaking clearly!" Scott stressed. "Okay, maybe it's not as bad as it seems. I mean, he doesn't have any proof, right? And, if he wanted to tell someone, who's gonna believe him, anyway?" Stiles said trying to be hopeful.
"How about the Argents? You know, the family who has generations of hunters." Amara suggested and Stiles nodded slightly, "Okay, it's bad." He said and Scott shook his head slightly. "I need a cure- right now." He said and Amara sighed, "Does he know about Allison's father?" She asked and he shrugged slightly.
"I don't know."
"Okay, where's Derek?"
"He's been hiding at my place. Why?" Amara asked, "I have another idea... It's gonna take a little time and finesse, though." Stiles said making Amara raise her eyebrows at him, "Remember, you guys have a game tonight. It's quarterfinals, and it's also your first game and Scott's first game as co-captain." She said looking at Stiles who sighed and nodded.
'I know, I know... Look, do you have a plan for Allison yet?" Stiles asked looking at Scott, "She's in my next class."
"Get the necklace."
"Right. Get the necklace."

Stiles drops his tray on a table to join Scott for lunch, "Did you get her to give you the necklace?" Stiles asked and Scott sighed. "Not exactly." He said making Stiles raise his eyebrows, "What happened?" He asked.
"She told me not to talk to her. At all." Scott said and Stiles pursed his lips slightly, "So she's not giving you-" He went to ask and Scott cut him off. "No, she's not giving me the necklace." He said and Stiles nodded, "Did you find out anything else?" He asked.
"Just that I know nothing about girls and they're totally psychotic." Scott said and all of the sudden someone dropped a bag on the table making them jump and look up at Amara who gave Scott a look. "You're gonna die alone if you keep that mentality but obviously you need a plan B since you're an idiot." She said.
"Well, I came up with a Plan B in case something like this happened." Stiles said making them look over at him, "What's Plan B?" Scott asked. "Just steal the stupid thing." Stiles said making Amara sighed, "Something tells me she rarely takes the damn necklace off. Stealing will be harder than it sounds." She said.
"Couldn't we try getting to Harris?" Scott asked and Stiles shook his head, "My Dad gave him a 24-hour protective detail. All we've got is the necklace. Steal it." Stiles said. "Guys. He's watching us." Scott said and they follow his gaze to find Jackson through the crowd, eating with Allison and Lydia and watching their panic with obvious amusement making Amara flip him off.
"Act normal." Scott said making Amara look at him weird, "We can be normal?" She asked and he just rolled his eyes. Amara looked over at Stiles, as he tries to act normal, which for Stiles was impossible, while Scott glances to Jackson whose stare never seems to waver.
Jackson takes a bite of an apple. The crunch of teeth into the skin soars toward across the room, the sound slamming at Scott, causing him to wince. When he looks up again, Jackson has set down the apple now gazing at Scott with interest.
"Scott... You can hear me?" Amara heard Jackson say making her sigh and roll her eyes. "Jackson's talking to me. He knows I can hear him. Look at me. Talk to me. Pretend like nothing's happening." Scott said panickedly. "You can, can't you?" Jackson asked and Scott looked at Stiles and Amara , Say something. Talk to me." He said and Stiles' eyes widened.
"I-I don't know what to say. My mind's a blank." Stiles said making Amara raise her eyebrows, "Your mind is blank?" She asked and Stiles raised his hands up in defense. "I can't think under this kind of pressure! And FYI, he's not sitting with them anymore." They look over at Lydia and Allison, noticing the seat where Jackson was is now empty.
"Looking for me, McCall? I'm right here. So, what else can you do? Huh? Can you see better? Are you stronger, more powerful? No, I knew there was no way you suddenly got that good at lacrosse... Which means you're actually a cheater, aren't you? I mean, can you even play lacrosse?"
"Yes." Scott mumbled making Stiles and Amara glance at each other. Stiles watches Scott trying not to react while digging his fork into his food and Amara listened.
"I'll bet my new co-captain's gonna score a bunch of shots tonight, aren't you? And while you're pretending you're not a lying cheat, I'm gonna ruin your life if you don't give me what I want. And you know what I'm gonna start with? Her. I'm gonna destroy any chance you'll ever have with her. And, when I'm done with that, I'm gonna get her all alone, and I'm gonna get my hands all over that tight little body."
Amara looked over at Scott and shook her head, "Scott." She said making Scott look up at her. "Ignore him. You can't let him have this kind of power over you, that's all he wants. You know all he does is run his mouth, he never actually does anything." She said and Scott sucked in a deep breath.
"I'm gonna do everything you never got the chance to do, and Scott? She's gonna beg for more. I bet she likes to get loud. Maybe she's even a screamer. How are you gonna feel, Scott... When she's screaming my name?"
Suddenly Scott's tray snap in half, plate and drink tumbling over the table and to the floor around him. Everyone in the cafeteria stops to look. Scott found Jackson, standing alone by one of the vending machines. He stared at Scott with a mixture of hatred and desire for power, a sinister curving at his lips that's far too evil to be called an actual smile.
Amara bit her tounge slightly before nodding to herself and grabbing Stiles' water bottle. "What are you doing?" Stiles asked as Amara took the cap off before getting up. She didn't say anything as she just grabbed her bag before walking off. Jackson was about to walk away from the vending machine as Amara started to walk past him.
As she walked past him, she threw the open bottle of water at him making him stop. "What the hell is your problem?" He said loudly making some people look over as Amara turned around, walking backwards. "Oops." She said with a smirk before winking and turning back around to walk out the cafeteria.

Hurtling into his room, Stiles rips his bag off his back and jumps to his computer. He types while simultaneously trying to kick his chair underneath him to grab a seat. Amara calmly walked into the room, raising her eyebrows when she noticed her cousin standing off to the side, who Stiles have yet to noticed.
"Hey, Stiles!" Stilinski called out making Stiles turn around, "Yo, D-Derek?" Stiles said when he noticed Derek standing there. Derek rolled his eyes and aggressively pointed at the door making Stiles quickly shoot up and run over to the door, awkwardly closing it behind him.
"Hiding in the Sherriff's son's room. It's like you want to be caught." Amara said and Derek just rolled his eyes. Once Stiles back into the room Derek grabbed him and pushed him into the door making Amara shake her head while sitting down.
"If you say one word." Derek started to threaten, "Oh, what? You mean, like, "Hey, Dad, Derek Hale's in my room. Bring your gun!" Stiles said sarcastically making Amara chuckle. Derek stared at him for a moment, realizing he was right, "Yeah, that's right. If I'm harboring your fugitive ass, it's my house, my rules, buddy." Stiles said and Derek nodded slightly, letting him go.
He fixed Stiles' flannel making Stiles smirk and do the same to Derek jacket before starting to walk away. As he walked away Derek threateningly jumped at him making Stiles flinch, "Oh, my God!"
"Scott didn't get the necklace?" Derek asked as Stiles sat back down at his desk and shook his head, "He's still working on it. But there's something else we can try. When we were trapped in the school that night Scott sent a text to Allison telling her to meet him there." He said and Derek furrowed his brows slightly.
"So?"
"So it wasn't Scott." Amara said and Derek raised his eyebrows, "Can you find out who sent the text?" He asked and Stiles shook his head. "No. But I know someone who can." He said making Amara look at him confused.

School bag over his shoulder, Danny stands in Stiles's room, "You want me to do what?" He questioned, looking at Stiles like he was crazy. "Trace a text." Stiles said as if it was the most normal thing ever, which in his world it probably was. "I came here to do lab work. That's what lab partners do." Danny said and Stiles nodded, "And we will. After you trace the text."
"What makes you think I know how?" Danny asked and Stiles pursed his lips, "I saw your arrest report." He said making Danny's eyes widen. "I... that was... I was only thirteen. The charges were dropped. No. We're doing lab work." Danny said, sitting down next to Stiles while Amara chuckled as she flipped through a comic book.
"Who is he again?" Danny asked looking over at Derek who was sitting on a chair next to the bed, reading a book. "Um, my cousin, Miguel." Stiles said slowly making Amara look over at Derek in amusement as Derek slowly looked up, giving Stiles a glare.
"Is that blood on his shirt?" Danny asked and Amara looked over at Derek's shirt to see that where was indeed blood on it. "He gets horrible nosebleeds. Miguel, I thought I told you to just borrow one of my shirts?" Glaring with even more fury, Derek slowly puts the book down and gets up to open Stiles's closet.
"So, we both know you've got the skills to trace that text-"
"Stiles." Stiles glances back at Derek holding a shirt, "This... no fit." Derek said making Stiles slightly roll his eyes. "Then try something else on." Stiles says. He turns back, but notices Danny gazing past him, eyes fixated on Derek's bare, muscular torso as he grabs another shirt. A smile creeps over Stiles's face. "Hey, that one looks pretty good, huh? What do you think, Danny?"
"The shirt?"
"It's... it's not really his color..." Danny said, Amara cringed at the sight of her broody cousin in an orange and blue striped shirt. Annoyed, Derek pulls off the T-shirt, exposing his perfect abs once again. As Danny's jaw drops open again, Stiles whispers, "Swing for a different team, but you still play ball, don't you?"
"You're a horrible person." Danny said looking back at Stiles. "I know. It keeps me awake at night." Stiles said making Amara chuckle and shake her head slightly, "Anyway, about that text-"
"Stiles! None of these fit!"
"I'll need the ISP, the phone number, and the exact time of the text."
"There. The text was sent from a computer. This one." Danny said, he points to the screen as Amara, Derek and Stiles gather around. "Registered to that account name?" Derek asked and Danny nodded. "That can't be right." Amara looking at the name.
BEACON HILLS HOSPITAL - MELISSA MCCALL

"Did you get the picture?" Scott asked over the phone. Stiles, Amara and Derek all sat in the jeep outside of the hospital, "Yes and it looks like the drawing." Stiles said, looking at the picture if the necklace Scott sent. "Hey, is there something on the back of it? There's gotta be something- an inscription, an opening, something." Derek asked.
"No, no, the thing's flat. And, no, it doesn't open. There's nothing in it, on it, around it, nothing. And where are you? You're supposed to be here. You're first line." Scott said making Stiles sigh, "Man, you're not gonna play if you're not here to start..."
"I know. Look, if you see my dad, can you tell him... tell him I'll be there, I'll just be a little bit late, okay? All right, thanks." Stiles said before hanging up. "You're not gonna make it." Amara said and Stiles sighed, "I know." He said. "And you didn't tell him about his mom, either." Derek said and Stiles shook his head slightly, "Not 'til we find out the truth."
"Oh and one more thing." Derek said before grabbing the back of Stiles's head then slamming it down into the steering wheel, "Hey! No, bad dog!" Amara said while flicking Derek's head. "Oh, God! What the hell was-" Stiles groaned, "You know that was for. Go. Go!" Derek demanded and Amara rolled her eyes before Stiles and her climbed out of the jeep, walking to the doors if the hospital.
"I don't see her anywhere." Stiles said as he and Amara looked around, "I'll look in the back room. Can you go look got Jennifer? She's the nurse that's been looking after my dad. That room." Amara said, pointing at a room and Stiles walked over to Peter's room while Amara went to walk behind the front desk.
"He's not here, either." Stiles said making Amara spin around, "What did you just say?" She asked, running into the empty room, she looked around for a second before realization crossed over her face. "No, no, no." She mumbled then grabbed Stiles arm, "We need to go... Right now." She said, pulling him with her. "Why?" He asked, "Because it's him. He's the alpha." She said, pulling him out the room then freezing when she saw someone standing by the doorway.
"You must be Stiles, I remember hearing about you a lot." Peter said smirking at Stiles, "What are you doing here? Visiting hours are over." Someone said from behind them making Stiles turn to see Peter's nurse. Stiles gasped while Amara couldn't look away from her father, who she was starting at in shock and disbelief. "You... and him... You're-you're the one who- Oh, my- and he's- Oh, my God, we're
