Chapter Fifty-Two
πŸ’° The Benefactor πŸ’°

"Like I said, I told my dad everything I could-" Stiles said as he, Scott and Amara walked into Scott's house, "But you didn't tell him about Liam?" Scott asked, still freaked out over what he did.

"You barely told me about Liam! What did you do with him, anyway?" Stiles asked and Scott looked over at Amara with wide eyes making her purse her lips, "He's upstairs." She said and Stiles raised his eyebrows at her. "Doing what?" He asked and she squinted her eyes a bit, "Lying down." She said as they walked upstairs.

Stiles ripped over the shower curtain to see Liam laying down in the bathtub wrapped up in duck tape making Stiles look down and sigh. Liam let out a few muffled yells as Stiles slowly closed the curtain again. The three of them walked back into the room and Stiles and Scott sat down at the foot of the bed while Amara leaned against the wall.

"So, you bit him?" Stiles asked and Scott nodded, "Yeah..."

"And you kidnapped him?" Stiles asked and Scott squinted slightly, "It was Amara's idea?" He said making Stiles look at Amara who nodded. "It was my idea." She said and Stiles squinted slightly before nodding, "Yeah, I'm not surprised..." He mumbled.

"And so you brought him here?" Stiles said as he turned to Scott and Scott looked at him alarmed, "I panicked!" He said and Stiles nodded. "Yup...This isn't going to end with us burying the pieces of his body out in the desert, is it?" Stiles asked and his only response was Liam muffled screams. "As a reminder, this is why I always come up with the plans! Your plans suck!" Stiles said and Scott nodded, "I know- which is why I called you. So, what do we do?" Scott asked.

Stiles's plan started with duck taping Liam to a chair, which wasn't very surprising.

"Liam, we're going to take the tape off your mouth. If you scream, it goes right back on. If you talk quietly, it stays off. Got it?" Stiles asked and Liam nodded and Stiles ripped the tape off. "Okay, Liam... Now, you've seen a lot of confusing things tonight. And more confusing things are going to happen because of the confusing things that happened tonight. Do you understand?" Stiles asked making them all look at him confused, "Not really..."

"Good. That's good."

"I barely understood you." Amara said making him sigh and turn to her and Scott, "Maybe one of you should tell him." He said. "Tell me what?" Liam asked and Scott sighed, "Liam... What happened to you... what I did to you... which I had to do to save you? It's going to change you..."

"Unless it kills you." Stiles added making Amara close her eyes and pinch the bridge of her nose while Liam looked like he wanted to cry, "Shouldn't have said that." Stiles said as Liam looked down slightly.

"What?"

"Uh... Uh-oh. Oh-oh... Is he... Is he crying?"

Scott sighed and crouched down in front of Liam, "Liam, it's okay. It's alright. You're not going to die." He said calmly making Liam look at him. Amara on the other hand squinted, completely seeing through Liam's act. "Probably not..." Stiles said making Scott shoot him a look, "Okay, possibly not." Stiles said running his arm.

"Would you just help me untie him?" Scott said and they took off all the tape, "Liam are you okay?" Scott asked while Liam stood up. Amara just shook her head slightly and walked over to the door, opening it knowing exactly what was about to happen. "We're sorry about that. We're really sorry-" Stiles said but was cut off by Liam slamming the chair into them.

"Liam, what the hell is your-" Stiles started but was cut off again by Liam punching him making him fall to the ground. Liam ran to the door but froze when he saw Amara standing in the doorway with a smirk. "Punch me and I'll punch you back. Go." She said, moving out of his way making him look at her confused for a second before running down the hall.

But when he got to the end of the hall he stopped and looked down at his leg confused then turned around when he heard Scott and Stiles stumble out of the room. "Ahhh! Get him!" Stiles yelled and they both screamed and ram at Liam making them all go tumbling down the stairs.

Amara sat down on the top step, waving to Liam as he got up and ran out the front door. "Leg! I got him! I got him! I got him! I got him!" Stiles yelled as he and Scott wrestled on the ground. Amara stood up before whistling making them freeze and look at her. She gestured to the wide open door making them look over and realize what just happened.

"Your plan sucked too."

"These are your math notes? No wonder Malia's failing." Amara said as she sat next to Lydia in biology while they looked at bunch of number and letters on Lydia's computer. "Some of them are my notes. The rest, I think might actually be a code..." Lydia said and Amara raised her eyebrows.

"You don't remember writing it, do you?" Amara asked and Lydia shook her head, "Not in the slightest. But, considering my drawing of a tree led us to the Nemeton, I should probably figure out what it means before it tries to kill us." Lydia said and Amara nodded.

"Maybe it's like the Enigma code the Allies used?" Amara asked making Lydia look at her shocked, "Mom's a massive history buff." Amara said and Lydia nodded. "I think it's a variation on something called the Vigènere Cipher." Lydia said and Amara nodded slowly, "I wish I had your beautiful brain." Amara mumbled making Lydia chuckle quietly and smile softly.

"Do you know how to crack it?" Amara asked and Lydia shrugged slightly, "With a key..." She said right before her mother walked up, holding a set of keys out.

"Remember the rules- no more than six people allowed in the lake house, stay out of the wine, and if anything gets broken, it's getting added to your credit card debt." Natalie said and Lydia shrugged slightly, "Fine." She said and went to grab the keys but Natalie pulled them back.

"And lock up the basement! From all the scratch marks I found on the walls, it looked like a pack of wild animals got down there." Natalie said before handing Lydia the keys while the girls smiled awkwardly before glancing at each other as Natalie walked away.

Amara turned the corner, right as Liam was about to making him jump. "Just give up." Amara said patting his shoulders as Scott and Stiles walked up. "We need to talk-" Scott said but Liam cut him off, "No, you need to back the hell up, okay? All of you." He demanded and Amara just raised her eyebrows.

"Can you just listen for one second? Please?" Scott asked and Liam sighed and gestured for him to talk, "Liam... we're brothers now." Scott said making Amara look at him weird while Stiles look at Scott with squinted eyes. "Is that-?" Amara mumbled while Stiles shook his head in disbelief.

"What are you talking about? We just met, and you bit me." Liam said looking at Scott like he was crazy, which he might as well be. "The Bite... the Bite is a gift." Scott said awkwardly and Amara shook her head as she stepped forward. "Stop it. It was dumb when Derek said it, and it's even more dumb when you say it." Amara said while Stiles pointed at Liam.

"You! You, we're trying to help you, you little runt!" Stiles said and Liam raised his eyebrows at him, "By kidnapping me?" Liam asked and Stiles pursed his lips. "...Just to clarify, Scott and Amara kidnapped you, okay? I aided and abetted." Stiles said and Amara nodded in agreement.

"Liam, I've gone through this before. Something's happening to you- something big." Scott said and Liam shook his head and looked at all of them. "Nothing's happening to me." He said before ripping off his bandage to show a healed arm, "Nothing!" He said then walked away.

"I'm not sharing my basement." Malia said as they all stood in between two busses in some sort of pack meeting. "Actually, it's my basement, and my mom noticed how you tore it up last time." Lydia said, "Alright, she's still learning." Stiles said, defending his girlfriend.

"But we're going to use the boathouse for Liam." Amara said and Scott nodded in agreement. "It's got support beams- we can chain him to one of them." Scott said making them all look at him. "But how do we get him out to the lake house if he doesn't trust us?" Kira asked.

"I say, if it keeps him from murdering someone, we chloroform the little bastard and throw him in the lake." Stiles said while doing some dramatic hand gestures, "I'm in!" Malia said, raising her hand up. "We're not killing or kidnapping him!" Scott said and Amara raised her eyebrows, "Kinda late for that part." She said and he rolled his eyes. "Then let's be smarter. We tell him there's a party and invite him." Lydia said and Stiles raised his eyebrows at her.

"So, you're going to ask out a freshman?" He asked and Lydia shook her head, "No- I'm done with teenage boys. But, if we're playing a trick on someone... why not use the trickster?" She said and they all turned to look at Kira.

"Who, me? No way. Not me." Kira said, glancing at all of them, "Yes, you! You know what they call a female fox? A vixen!" Lydia said and Kira just looked at her with wide eyes. "Me?" Kira asked awkwardly and Amara smirked and nodded, "You can do it, Kira. Be a vixen." She said and Kira made a face and sighed.

"I just talked to Kira. She's on her way. She said it's all going fine." Scott said after pulling up to the lake house, "It's not that... I have to tell you something." Stiles said before pulling out his phone. "Amara and I asked around about Liam. We know why he got kicked out of his last school." Stiles said and Scott glanced at the two of them.

"This is going to be bad, isn't it?" Scott asked and Amara sighed and nodded, "He kind of got into it with one of his teachers. The kid's got some serious anger issues." Amara said and Stiles nodded in agreement. "How serious?"

"Well, that's his teacher's car... After he took a crowbar to it." Stiles said, handing Scott his phone. On his phone was a picture of a car covered in scraps and dents, the windows all smashed, tired flattened and the words "THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT" scratched into the side.

Amara stood in between Lydia and Malia as Liam and Kira walked in. He turned around to leave but Kira shut the door and smiled sheepishly, "Sorry."

"What the hell is this?" Liam asked looking at all of them, "Think of it like an intervention. You have a problem, Liam-" Stiles said and Scott nodded, "And we're the only ones that can help." Scott said before going into a full explanation.

"Werewolf?" Liam asked looking at Scott who nodded, "Werecoyote?" He asked looking at Malia who nodded. "Banshee?" He asked looking at Lydia who smiled awkwardly and nodded, "Were...witch?" He asked turning to Amara who nodded and gave him a thumbs up. "Fox?" Liam asked turning to Kira who smile and shrugged slightly, "Kitsune. But "fox" works." Kira said then Liam turned to Stiles, "What are you?"

"Uh, for a little while, I was possessed by an evil spirit... It was very evil..." Stiles said and they all nodded while Liam crossed his arms and raised his eyebrows, "What are you now?" He asked and Stiles squinted slightly. "...Better?" He trailed off slightly and Amara raised her eyebrows amusingly, "Since when?" She asked making him shoot her a look.

"Are those for me?" Liam asked pointing at the chains on the table, "No, they're for me." Malia said stepping up, flashing her blue eyes making Liam flinch back. "How did you do that?" He asked and Amara stepped up, "You'll learn. But first, you need to get through the full moon."

"The moon's already out." Liam said irritated, "And you're starting to feel something, aren't you?" Amara asked and he shook his head. "I feel like I'm surrounded by a bunch of psychotic nutjobs!" Liam yelled and Amara nodded slightly, "Well- Like father-like daughter."

"You guys are out of your freaking minds! I don't know how you did that eye-thing, and I don't care- I'm walking out the door right now, and if any of you try to stop me, I swear to God, I'm gonna-" He said aggressively before clutching his head and yelling out.

"What's wrong Liam?"

"You don't hear that?" Liam asked and headlights came though the window making their eyes widen, "Did you tell someone about this?" Amara asked as Liam fell to the floor panting. "My friend, Mason...You said it was a party." Liam groaned, "Who did Mason invite?" Stiles asked and Kira looked out the window, "Everyone."

Liam grunted as his claws dragged across the floor, "The floors! Get him off the floors!" Lydia said and Liam looked up and roared at her making Amara pull Lydia away from him. "We need to get him to the boathouse-now!" Scott said and him and Kira grabbed him and pulled out the back doors.

"Stiles...?"

"Yeah?" Stiles said looking at Malia who looked at him and growled, "Hey! Okay, basement. Now. Now!" Stiles said grabbing Malia and chains, "What are we supposed to do with the hordes gathering outside the door?" Lydia yelled.

"Lydia, who throws the best parties in Beacon Hills?" Stiles asked making Lydia turn to him, scoffing in offense, "What? Me! Obviously!" Lydia said and Stiles nodded while moving to the back door, "Then throw a party."

Lydia and Amara turned to each other as Stiles and Malia ran off. "Why can't we just tell they have the wrong address?" Amara asked and Lydia sighed, "I have no idea." She said before they both moved to the door. Lydia opened the door to reveal a giant group of freshmen making the two girls sigh.

"Hey... Uh, are we in the right place...?" Liam's friend Mason asked, "For the party?" Garrett asked awkwardly. Lydia and Amara glanced at each other before looking back at the crowd with fake smile, "Absolutely." Lydia said making all the freshmen cheer which made them both cringe.

"This will be the night I punch a freshman." Amara whispered to Lydia as the crowd walked past them into the house. "I won't stop you." Lydia whispered as they gave people fake smiles.

Soon enough the party was a full force as Amara and Lydia pushed past people while Lydia wrapped her arm around Amara's. "I hate this." Amara muttered and Lydia chuckled, "Tell me about it." She said as they walked into the kitchen right as some dude walked in with a keg of beer.

"Okay, we didn't order a keg of beer- especially not domestic." Lydia said and the dude shrugged, "Somebody ordered it. Are you trying to tell me nobody here wants to drink?" Demarco asked and the girls sighed until Lydia noticed a glass if wine on top of her laptop. "Who put this here? This laptop is two thousand dollars... Oh, and that bottle of wine is four-hundred..." She said ripping a bottle of wine out of Garret's hands.

"How much." Amara sighed turning to Demarco and he handed her a piece of paper, "What's this extra hundred dollars?" Lydia asked, looking over Amara's shoulder. "I call that the, 'Yes, you do look twenty-one to me" surcharge'." He said winking at them making Amara give him an annoyed look. "I'll show you a surcharge." She said as Lydia sighed and set the wine bottle down.

She glanced around before noticing Mason walking up stairs, "Let me get you some cash." Lydia said before grabbing Amara's hand and pulling her over to the stairs. They walked upstairs and saw Mason walk into one of the rooms making them follow, "What are you doing up here? The party's downstairs." Amara asked.

"I was looking for Liam." Mason said awkwardly making Lydia sigh, "Sorry, but missing freshmen are a little low on my priority list." Lydia said walking around him. "But not so low you don't know he's a freshman?" Mason asked as Lydia grabbed a couple wine glasses and sighed.

"I might have seen your friend. Downstairs." She said before grabbing his arm and was about to pull him out of the room the wine glasses fell out of her hands, splattering red wine all over the white carpet.

"Oh, my God! The carpet. No, God, no!" Lydia said, dropping down trying to rub the wine out with her sweater. "Hey Lydia, it's fine. It'll come out." Amara said, gently grabbed Lydia's hand, stopping her from spreading the wine more. "I'm sorry... Was it valuable?" Mason asked and Lydia sighed and looked up.

"No. That's the problem- nothing in here's valuable." Lydia said, sitting up with tears down her face, "We just put the house on the market. It was supposed to be left without a scratch. It has to be in perfect condition. We need every penny we can get out of this place." Lydia said as Amara sighed softly.

"Okay. Let me go get some club soda and salt. Lydia, it'll come out. It will." Mason said before standing up and walking out the room, the door shutting behind him. Lydia and Amara both looked up when they realized they couldn't hear the music anymore.

Lydia slowly stood up and walked over to the door before opening it and the sound of music and people filled the room. She closed it again and they instantly couldn't hear the sounds anymore. She opened it and closed it once more before turning to Amara, "Soundproof?" Amara asked, slowly standing up as Lydia glanced around the room confused.

She glanced around until noticing a record player against the wall. She slowly walked over to it and turned it on and Amara looked at her confused as she walked up to her. The vinyl dropped and the needle went down but instead of normal music playing all Amara heard was a white noise sound while Lydia was hearing distorted voices.

The voices slowly started becoming clearer but was still hard to understand as it sounded like it was multiple people talking all at once. "Do you hear that?" Lydia asked and Amara raised her eyebrows, "I don't hear anything." Amara said and Lydia stared at the wall.

After a few minutes Kira walked in to see Lydia still listening to the record player. She looked at Amara who just shook her head slightly as Kira walked up to them. "Hey, Lydia? Are you okay?" Kira asked before looking down at the record player, "What do you hear?"

"The key... The key to break the code." Lydia said and Amara looked at Kira, "Can you go get Lydia's laptop?" Amara asked and Kira nodded before running out the room. A minute later Kira ran back in and Lydia grabbed the laptop and sat down at the desk before typing until it went to the option to put in a key. Lydia slowly started typing in the name making Amara suck in a deep breath.
