Things have been awkward since Colin and I had that argument. I really keep replaying how things could have been different. I should've left everything at my house in LA, he wouldn't have found anything if I did that.
Now he's been questioning everything. When I told him I was going to meet with my lawyers the other day, he went through my phone to make sure I wasn't lying to him. It's obnoxious. I had to change Y/n's contact information to Hunter knowing he wouldn't snoop through that.
Y/n has been worried about me and the state of my relationship with Colin. I've been telling her not to worry and that I have everything under control since she does have a big game and she needs to focus her energy there. I would hate to be the reason her game is thrown off.
We flew into San Francisco the other night and got a hotel room so we could be here for Y/n's game today. Colin's acted like things were okay when we were around people, especially when we were with Cosmo. I was feeling more drained in this relationship as each day passed by. I just don't want to ruin the whole family thing for Cosmo. I did that with Rose already.
We made it to the suite at the stadium to watch the game. A lot of Y/n's friends and family were here. I walked in and was greeted by her mother, brother, her best friend Naomi, her grandparents, and then I noticed Tom and Zendaya were here. I walked over to those two before I saw Chris come in. "Oh thank god." I breathed out as I grabbed his arm and pulled him to one corner of the suite.
"Whoa I'm happy to see you too." Chris smiled as he laughed at my eagerness to talk to him. "Colin is making my life a living hell." I muttered and Chris looked at me confused and then his eyes widened. "He knows?!" he whisper yells. "No, I don't know but he found my Plan B and the condoms I bought for Y/n in my suitcase and-"
"Aww you buy her condoms, another level of love." I rolled my eyes at Chris as he put his hand on my shoulder. "That's not the point, he's been watching my every move and I kind of don't think I should interact with Y/n at all today. She's been super busy this week so I haven't had much time to talk to her or let her know what's going on so-"
"Well if you don't interact with her then she's going to think that's weird but so will Colin if it turns out he doesn't actually think you're cheating on him with her."
"So you're saying?"
"Just do what you normally would, just don't look at Y/n like you want her to slip that black widow suit off." He joked. This guy is such a child. "I'm walking away." I shook my head turning away from him as he began having a laughing fit.
The teams came out and the captains went to the center of the field to do the coin toss which then led to the beginning of the game. I looked around at the packed stadium amazed by how many people were here. We all looked up at the big screen seeing the camera panned to our sweet showing the celebrities in the building as it fell on me, Colin, Tom, Zendaya, and Chris. We waved at the camera and turned my attention back to the game.
As the game went on, the score kept going back and forth. It was beginning to get more physical than what was comfortable for me. Obviously I know football is a pretty violent sport but, it makes it much worse when someone you care about is right in the middle of it.
Every time Y/n got hit, I cringed. It made me worry because of all the injuries I've seen and heard about in the sport.
There was a turn over on downs and Y/n and her team went back onto the field. We watched as her team picked up 7 yards in the first down before some of the women began getting a bit chippy with the opposing team. Y/n stepped in between her teammates and the opposers as they began arguing. I was quite surprised she didn't try and give them a piece of her mind. I always find it so hot when she gets a little feisty.
Y/n got back into position, directing her teammates on where to go as she called out their next play. She lifted her foot off the ground signaling she was ready for the snap, clapping her hands together as her center snapped the ball back to her. She drops back and as if out of nowhere, before she could get the ball out of her hands and in the air, she's hit hard and immediately was on the ground and you could hear her yell out in pain.
Her head hit the field. My heart dropped, Y/n's mother quickly got out of her seat as Y/n laid on the field motionless. The whole stadium got quiet and then we could hear fans booing the player that hit her, she was arguing with the refs.
My heart sunk and I felt like I couldn't breathe. Chris looked over to me and I couldn't help but to think worst case scenarios. She wasn't moving. The medical staff quickly ran out to the field, careful not to move her. The cameras zoomed in on her and I could see tears in her eyes before she covered her face with her arm.
I heard the door opened and Y/n's mom Vanessa quickly rushed out of the suite, I'm assuming to go down to the field or the locker room. I looked at Chris and Tom who looked at me waiting for my next move. "If you go down there, Colin's going to think somethings up." Chris whispered at me as he grabbed ahold of my hand. Colin had already walked out of the room at this point with Vanessa as they quickly rushed to try and check on their daughter.
"Chris she could be seriously hurt." I said as my voice cracked.
"I know that but is this really how you want your secret to come out?" he whispered and I ran a hand through my hair before Zendaya reached over and wiped away my tears. "She needs to know I'm here and that I care- I-"
"She knows, just let her parents be there right now." Tom said trying to reassure me as my nerves and anxiety began to skyrocket. I continued to replay her motionless in my head after letting out that loud scream. She sounded like she was in so much pain and I'm just up here unable to do anything for her. Naomi came over to me wrapping her arms around me, clearly worried for her best friend as well.
"LA's quarterback was in a defenseless position and could not protect herself. Number 75 lowered her helmet and made impact. Number 75 of San Francisco has been ejected from the game for targeting" the referee announced. Fans cheered after the call and began saying goodbye to the player as she walked off the field upset that she was kicked out of the game.

Watching the game, everyone was stressed as the score went back and forth. Both teams had a punch to counter the other's momentum. I could see my daughter getting frustrated with herself but also with the plays the opposing defense was making against her offense. I couldn't help but to think about what Madison said to me. I just couldn't see Y/n or Scarlett doing that to me.
I watched as Scarlett paid close attention to the game as she stood next to Chris who had Cosmo in his arms. The two of them cheered as Y/n threw a bullet pass to her teammate who scored a touchdown. As the game progressed, all I could think about was my argument with Scarlett. There's still nothing substantial to hold onto that would explain why she had those condoms.
My attention and thoughts were snapped. It happened so fast, Y/n was hit cold onto the field. My heart ached for my daughter seeing her in pain, you could hear her yell. But what caught my eye was Scarlett. She looked distraught, Chris put his arm around her and as she turned in my direction, I saw her eyes were welling with tears and at that moment, I knew. Madison was right.
I quickly made my way out of the suite and down to the field level with Y/n's mom as all these thoughts started to run through my mind. How long have they been doing this? Am I tripping or reading too much into this? I mean Scarlett and Y/n are close so she could just be concerned.
We made it down to the field where a member of Y/n's teams medical staff escorted us through the tunnel and to the locker room where she laid on one of the tables. She had a neck brace on from when they moved her. "We're going to get her transported to the hospital so she can get some scans done but right now, from what we can tell, she has a concussion at the very least." The team doctor told us as she pulled her walkie-talkie out telling the coach she's transporting Y/n out and to make a sub for the last few minutes of the game seeing as Y/n wasn't coming back out.
"Can I ride with her?" Vanessa asked as the paramedic brought the ambulance around. "Of course." they said as I helped Vanessa in the ambulance. "I'll drive over." I say and she nodded before the paramedic closed the door.
I went back up to the suite and everyone immediately turned their attention to me. "Team doctor thinks she has a concussion but they're taking her to get scans done as a precaution at the hospital. Vanessa rode with the paramedics so, I'm going to meet them there." I say and everyone pretty much packed their stuff up and agreed to go to the hospital. I walked over to Scarlett and I really didn't want to look at her. "You should ride with Chris." I say and made up some lame excuse that I needed to be alone. Realistically, I can't be around her right now.
We all left the stadium and I immediately tried to get the thoughts of Y/n and Scarlett out of my head because I can't deal with those thoughts right now. We all arrived at the hospital around the same time and I was directed upstairs to where Vanessa was waiting. Shortly after, Scarlett walked in with Cosmo, Naomi, Chris, Tom, and Zendaya, and Y/n's brother Elias.
Scarlett connected her eyes with me, searching for answers and luckily the doctor came out and told Vanessa and I that we could go into Y/n's room. We walked in and Y/n laid there staring up at the ceiling before Vanessa quickly went over to her trying to figure out how to cradle our child.
"Baby are you okay? How are you feeling?" Vanessa asked as she went to the other side of Y/n's bed smoothing out Y/n's hair before pressing a kiss to her forehead. Y/n looked over to me and gave me a weak smile. "I got flattened out like a pancake on national television." Y/n said laughing lightly at herself. "What'd the doctor say?" I asked.
"Well I have a concussion so hopefully I can clear protocol soon, I can't let my team down. But other than that, a bruised rib but I'm all good. I really just got the wind knocked out of me and my head hurt so bad I couldn't move. It sent a shock through my system."
"Well you have visitors outside."
"Let them in, this feels like I'm dying or something." Y/n joked lightening up the mood. I went and told everyone to come in but quietly since her head hurt. Cosmo ran in first trying to find a way to get on her bed.

Colin picked up Cosmo, helping him get on the hospital bed and he immediately engulfed Y/n making her wince. "Are you okay?" he questioned as he sat close to her. I quickly tried to back him up seeing that he caused her some pain without realizing it. "No no he's fine." Y/n said as she let her hand lightly go over mine. She searched my eyes and I quickly looked away knowing my emotions are too all over the place and I didn't want Colin to think anything of it. I knew Y/n could tell I was being distant but I hope she notices I'm not doing it on purpose.
I moved to the side and let Naomi and Tom go over to her as they began asking if she was okay while Tom decided to crack a joke about it which seemed to really put Y/n in better spirits. Y/n's eyes lingered on mine before she turned her attention back to her friends. I couldn't help but to notice how disconnected Colin was looking right now.
We stayed for a bit longer before the nurse came in and told us only one person could stay overnight and as much as I wanted to be that person so I could just lay with her all night long, I knew Vanessa would opt to do so and that Y/n would want her to because well, its the normal reaction when you're hurt or in the hospital that you want your mother with you. We all bid our goodbyes to Y/n, I bent down and hugged her which she then snuck a kiss on my neck making me smile.
Colin and I headed back to our hotel. The car ride was fairly quiet. When we arrived and went up to the room, he began grabbing his bags. "Where are you going?"
"Work emergency. I'll be back in a couple of days, there's something I have to take care of." There is nothing from his job that would require him having to go back to New York.
Is he serious right now? "Colin, your daughter is literally in the hospital right now and you're leaving? There was worry that she could have something wrong with her brain." I said agitated that he would even think his work is more important than being with Y/n.
"Please, Scarlett, it would do you a lot better if you would not talk to me right now." He muttered. "What the hell is that supposed to mean?" I said getting annoyed quickly. "Nothing, look, just be there for her while I'm gone, I'll be back in a few days. That shouldn't be hard for you."
What the hell is going on? "Colin you can't be serious, if any time is perfect for you to be here it's right now, she'll need you. You've walked out on her before when she needed you and now you're doing it again."
"I'll be back. I have to get to the airport. Like I said, you got this all under control"
"Do you want me to drive you-"
"No, my drivers here." Colin quickly kissed our sleeping son before pecking my cheek and walking out of the hotel room. What the hell is happening?
