Third Person POV

... I'm so lost.

An 8-year-old girl was quietly walking down the path back home from school.

She was walking alone, as her older step-brother, Leon, decided to walk with his two other friends.

She was alone.

Weak.

Defenseless.

Because she had no quirk.

But... she wasn't scared.

She continued walking down the dark and gloomy road that lead directly towards her house.

There was no one else on the road, which made Mayoki quite anxious. It was only 6 pm, why isn't there anyone on the roads?

A sudden sound of crows made Mayoki flinch, as a flock of crows flew from the ground to the sky, flying away until they were out of sight. until the crows somehow exploded into thousands of fowl as a sudden arrow successfully hits all of them-

She mentally slapped herself for being scared of a group of crows. She decides to quickly start jogging, not wanting to miss an episode of All Might yet again, easily saving another group of innocent people.

But amongst that silent and black night, the sounds of clashing and screaming sounded from an alleyway not too far. She stopped dead in her tracks, petrified.

With a straight face, she sprints towards the direction of the voice, and peeps through the wall, looking into the alleyway.

Her eyes immediately widen as her heart bumps louder.

There were two people dressed in full black, one of them held a plastic bag, while the other had a gun. In front of them, were three people.

Her breathing starts to become uneven.

It was Leon and his two friends.

The 11-year-old boy stood in a defensive position, with a book in front of him and glowing green hands. His two other friends, whose names she cannot recall, were on the ground behind Leon, shaking.

"D-Don't step any c-closer!" Leon shouted as green vines started to grow from the ground, protecting his friends and himself.

The two strangers dressed in black laughed loudly until they started to tear up.

"Man, you're funny! But hey, we're just here for a simple request~ We take your Vision, and no one gets hurt!" The shorter male stated as he looked deeply into Leon's eyes, startling the poor boy.

Leon flinched at the name Vision. He quickly looked back at his right hip, to confirm if his Vision was still on him, and in fact, his Dendro Vision was still there.

"Never! I-If you want my Vision, t-t-then you have to fight me to get it!" Leon screamed, tears starting to form in his eyes.

...

It was fully silent.

"... Fine."

The other male sprinted towards Leon with a dagger in his hand, "Then it looks like we'll have to kill you for it!"

The stranger aimed the dagger at Leon's forehead.

Mayoki stood there.

Absolutely horror-struck.

It seemed as if everything was now somehow in slow motion.

She contemplated her actions.

What do I do?

Should I try to save him?

What would happen if I just stood there and did nothing?

Will I get hurt?

Will Leon get mad at me for interfering?

Am I going to watch him die in front of me?

Questions were rushing through her mind as her entire body was visibly shaking.

Until she blinked and remembered a quote Auntie Ester once said to her.

The 7-year-old girl blankly stared at the doctor as her entire brain malfunctioned.

"She doesn't have a quirk." The doctor simply said, sighing as he saw both the girl's and Auntie Ester's faces.

"Well, that's quite unfortunate..." Auntie Ester sighed, looking back at the girl with sad eyes.

"She is a huge All Might fan and wants to be like him in the future. But if she does not have a quirk..."

"Does she have a Vision?" The doctor asked as Auntie Ester looked up at him confused.

"Don't Visions only appear when the person is about 12 to 15 years old?" Auntie Ester asked.

The doctor looked at her with squinted eyes. "No. 12 to 15 is just an average number. But on some rare occasions, some people could get their Visions extremely early or extremely late." The doctor replied, clearly annoyed that the woman did not have enough knowledge about Visions.

"Unlike quirks, only 15% of the population has it. So typically speaking, if your daughter was recognized by the gods, she might get a Vision. So not all hope is lost."

Auntie Ester lightly squinted her eyes at the doctor's personality and behavior.

"Well, if you please not mind, I have another client coming in very soon. Please take your belongings and leave." The doctor sighed, standing up and walking towards the front door.

The woman herself sighs as she and the girl stand up, holding hands as they walk towards the door.

"See yourselves out." The doctor rushed as he basically pushes the two out. The woman now looked at him with anger.

"How rude! I'm going to be giving him a bad review." The woman stated as she looked back down at the silent girl.

"Mayoki, let's go home then." The woman said, starting to walk off. But after about two steps, Mayoki's grip on Auntie Ester's hand hardened, making the woman stop dead in her tracks.

Mayoki's facial expression fully described her emotions. Her eyebrows were slightly curved downwards, as she herself also squinted her eyes.

The women looked at her and then squatted down until they were the same height.

"Mayoki..."

The girl could not help but feel jealous. Her step-brother, Leon, was lucky enough to have a Vision. Why didn't she have one?

Auntie Ester reached out to Mayoki and lifted her face in her hands.

"Even if you do not have a quirk or a vision, you can always help other people, hero or not."

Suddenly, out of sheer strength, Mayoki sprinted at an ungodly speed towards the male that was holding the knife, successfully knocking him down to the ground.

Leon stared at her, in absolute shock. Following, he used his elemental skill to pin the other shorter male onto the ground with vines, making him unable to move.

The taller male stared at Mayoki, absolutely baffled that a child that looked younger than 10 years old was pinning him onto the ground, blocking off his plans. "Why you little--!"

The three male children smile widely as they hear the sound of police sirens in the distance. Both males widened their eyes, and hastily tried to escape.

The one being pinned down by the vines suddenly turned into water and slid away from the alleyway. The other one, being pinned down by Mayoki only, grabbed ahold of her head and threw her onto the wall, making Mayoki yelp in pain and fall onto the ground.

The taller male then shrunk his size to the size of an ant to disguise himself and run away.

A few seconds later, 4-5 police cars appeared in front of the alleyway as heroes and a few people with visions ran inside.

The three males smiled widely as the heroes picked them up and asked if they were okay.

Leon smiled as he looked at his step-sister. "Mayoki! We're sav--!"

"Someone call the ambulance, stat!" A Vision wielder exclaimed, staring at the almost unconscious girl lying on the ground. "The back of her head is bleeding horribly! Get her to a hospital now!"

All of the heroes obliged as one of them hastily calls an ambulance. Leon and his friends stare at Mayoki in shock.

"Mayoki!"

Her sight only fully blackened when another group of people ran towards her.

Time Skip *1 Hour*

"Please you have to let me see her!" Auntie Ester exclaimed, trying to get through the two doctors that were guarding the room that Mayoki was in.

"Miss, please, we have told you that she is fine. She just needs her rest." The female doctor said, trying to calm to spastic mother.

"I know she needs her rest, you don't think I know?! Just let me in so I can guarantee that she is fine!" Auntie Ester rebelled, trying to push through the two doctors again.

"Ma'am, please!"

Leon and his two friends were sitting in the waiting seats.

Leon stared at his mother, shocked.

He has never seen her act like this before.

"Dude... do you think your sister is okay?" His blonde friend asked Leon, snapping him out of his thoughts.

"Hm? Oh... I hope she's alright." Leon replied, lowering his head and squinting his eyes. "She's so reckless and stubborn! That's what I hate about her."

"But she saved us." His other raven-haired friend replied, startling Leon and his blonde friend. The reason is that he barely speaks.

Leon thought about it for a moment, then realized something. "Ah, aren't you one of my sister's classmates? I saw you in her homeroom photo." Leon remarked, looking at the raven-haired boy.

He nodded as he dribbled a volleyball onto the ground. "I play volleyball with her sometimes."

Leon and his blonde friend's lips shaped into an 'O' as they all grew silent.

Leon then looked back at his mother with the two doctors.

Stay strong, Mayoki. And... thank you.

*In the Room*

Mayoki's POV

The sun's burning rays and the sound of birds chirping woke the exhausted girl up from the hospital bed, clearly frustrated that it woke her up.

With her eyes still closed, she moved around on the bed. She winced when the back of her head suddenly ached, annoying her.

With her eyes still closed, she felt something pointy and circular on the palm of her right hand.

She lifted it up towards her face and slowly opened her eyes.

Her facial expression described everything.

Disregarding the fact that she was in a hospital room, there, in her very own right palm...

Was a single Pyro Vision.
