(readers POV)

FAITH STOOD WITH forest and felicity, all of them inside of tara's party. they've never really been to an influencer party, but already they were hating it.

everybody was drinking, which they knew would occur, but also it was terrible. everybody would come up to them and say something about their youtube channel, slurring their words and basically pushing themselves on the girls.

the only thing faith could hear was the music blasting through the seeps of the speakers, drunk shouting, and occasional throwing up noises. they hadn't even seen tara yet, even though she was host and the one who invited them.

faith recognized everybody there, but they were all too stoned or drunk to even notice they knew the girls. she had a cup, but it was full of dr pepper instead of alcohol.

"i hate this." faith told her sisters, both esty and cici nodding in agreement. she glanced over, seeing tara finally downstairs. she was already hammered, and it was so beyond obvious.

"she hasn't even spoke to us, and she invited us." cici rolled her eyes. she did not care to tell it how it was, and she always says who in the influencer industry who she doesn't like.

esty glanced at cici, silently telling her not to say anything rude out loud. "don't be mean, cici."

"just saying." cici shrugged, as the door opened for probably the hundredth time in thirty five minutes.

faith looked at the door as well, seeing matt, nick, and chris walk in. she smiled at them all, and they all immediately began talking.

"is this party fun or ass?" nick asked, hugging all the girls each. faith rolled her eyes and shook her head.

"ass. tara invited us and hasn't even spoken to us. been too busy flirting with like ten guys at a time." faith said, crossing her arms and looking over at the people.

"we met her a few months ago and she was rude as hell," chris said, looking at the girls. "but we didn't wanna be mean and say no to coming to her birthday party."

the girls nodded in agreement, and eventually they all split up. faith was talking to the only sober person there, nessa.

faith's eyes trailed over to matt, as he spoke to jake. it was obvious jake was drunk, and slurring his words, but matt was still being polite to him.

"crush on matt?" nessa smiled, looking at faith with a curious expression. they haven't seen each other in a while, despite being best friends, so faye hasn't had time to tell her about her growing crush.

"maybe a little," faith said, giggling as she looked back at nessa. nessa smiled even bigger, extremely happy for her best friend.

"yeah? he obviously likes you back. make a move, faye." nessa smiled, oblivious about the kisses they've shared already.

"we've kissed like ten times," faith said, fiddling with her shirt. "but don't tell anybody."

"promise? and you didn't tell me?" nessa asked, frowning a little.

"i'm sorry, i just haven't had time. the sam and colby video, filming for our channel, and we haven't even seen each other." faith said, looking at nessa with a guilty expression.

"it's okay. why haven't you told him how you feel?" nessa asked, raising an eyebrow.

"he's not the relationship type of guy, i don't think." faith said, shaking her head as she drunk her dr pepper. "but i'll ask him in a month if he hasn't already asked me. deal?"

"deal." nessa nodded, smiling at faith.

( matt's POV )

I STOOD BY jake, talking to him about my brother and i's recent collab with sam and colby, along with the girls. jake's words were slurring so much i could barely make out what he was talking about, but i
was still listening to not come off as rude.

i always watch how i act at influencer parties, because the first time you act off, the whole internet thinks you're a terrible person. i just watched jake talk, nodding along until i heard my name being called.

it was a girls voice, but it wasn't faith's voice, so i ignored it. that was until i heard it again, and again, and again.

i immediately rolled my eyes discreetly and turned, seeing tara by a door, waving me over. i looked at her with a sigh and put my water down, walking towards the short black haired girl.

"hey, tara." i say, smiling politely at her as i looked down at her. she looked up at me, smiling back.

"enjoying the party?" tara asked, hands on her hips as she looked up at me.

"of course." i nodded, lying completely. i didn't want to make tara feel bad on her birthday, but i definitely wasn't having the best time.

"you're lying," tara frowned, looking up at him as her arms dropped. i looked down at her, not knowing what to say since i felt bad. "don't feel bad. you can make it up."

"what?" i asked, raising an eyebrow in confusion. tara just smiled, her hand going to my wrist and pulling me into the room behind us. "tara, what're you doing?"

"come on, you've been staring at me all night." tara said, looking up at me with a smile as she shut the door.

i didn't even know what to say, so i just stared at her. after a second of no words being spoke, tara leaned up, catching me off guard. her lips stayed on mine for a second, and i was really tempted to pull away, but i couldn't.

i stayed in the same spot, my hands eventually going to her hips. i felt terrible just thinking about faith as this happened, but i couldn't stop.
