The little match went by rather slowly but still remained exciting. Nagi had asked you what to do to make it end so that the both of you can win and you had told him about your plan: „Just do what you always do. And I'll bring the ball to you!"

The first goal was shot by Reo and Mika. It was a 2 vs. 1 situation when it came to dribbling towards the goal. With their united force you had no chance to stop them and then there was no one left, since Nagi was on the other side of the field.

»Alright, time out«, you sighed and walked to your teammate. »Nagi-kun, I think I know what we have to change.«

»Okay!«

»...«

Back in the game, you and Nagi shot a goal very easily, since you started with having the ball and you're a fast runner with much endurance and ball control. »Yeeeyyyyy goal! That was great, Nagi-kun!« You jumped up and down and gestured to him to give you a high five which he did. »Yes!«

Although his expression was as indifferent as usually and he seemed rather unbothered, you felt happy for the both of you. And somehow, even though the look in his face hadn't changed, you felt that he was happy too. Even if it was just a little bit.

He seems to be used to winning...is football that easy for him?

As the match continued, Mika had the ball again. When you tried to stop his outstanding dribbling, he passed it towards Reo. On the popular boy's face occurred a grin, but it vanished just as fast, when Nagi suddenly jumped in front of him and trapped the ball.

»Wha-«, Reo seemed surprised and you took advantage of it and ran towards the goal, receiving a pass from Nagi mid-way.

»Great, Nagi«

„As long as the other team is in possession of the ball, try everything to get it away from them and to me..."

Reo came close to you fast and even Mika caught up to the two of you so that they were nearly cutting you off. That was why you had to pass the ball to Nagi before you had intended to do so. At first you thought he wouldn't be able to reach it but...

"...and then run! Run until you're at the most amazing spot to score from and wait there for me. Wait for my pass!"

Nagi trapped the ball in the air and then made a powerful shot directly into the goal.

»Like this, (Y/N)?«, he looked at you.

»Perfect!«, you felt totally fired up.

»Well that was easy«

»You're awesome, Nagi!«, you ruffled through his hair, only being able due to jumping as high as you could. Nagi even lowered his head a little so that you could reach his hair better.

Wait did he just do that or did I imagine it? Anyway, God, his hair is so fluffy!

You weren't sure about it, but for a moment you thought that you saw a light blush on his cheeks. Fast, you retreated your hand from his head and averted your gaze while turning around to Mika and Reo. »C-Come on«, internally you cursed your sudden timidity. »Let's crush them once and for all.«

»Yeah«, the white-haired boy stepped beside you and now he was the one to ruffle your hair for a moment. When you looked at him, his gaze was lingering on your opponent, his indifferent face was graced with determination. His big hand was still laying on the back of your head. At his touch your heart started beating faster and the heat in your face only increased.

Oh fuck. No boy ever had this impact on me. What the hell is happening here?

And all of it only because I wanted to be a non-allegiant friend to Choki56 and spy on him...Damn my spying mission, I completely forgot about that! Uh, well I guess it's better like this anyway...

In the end, Nagi and you won with your amazing combo, although Mika and Reo scored another goal as well and you had an exciting neck-and-neck-race.

»Seems like your skills are dead level with mine, (Y/N)«, Reo remarked and took a sip from his bottle. His gaze lingered on you. »You're like my female equivalent.«

»Well...«, you scratched the back of your head with a sheepish grin.

I'm much more introverted though...

He averted his gaze to his friend: »What do you think, Nagi?«

The white-haired boy was laying on the ground, on his face a tired and exhausted expression, when he dramatically replied: »Legs broken...Cells dead...Heart stopped...«

»...then you're a zombie«, Reo stated.

»Nagi of the dead«

You and Mika exchanged a look and then bursted out into laughter. Hanging out with these boys was hilarious, their natural behaviour deserved a comedy award. The whole situation could have felt rather weird, since the four of you never really had hung out before. Yet you realised that you just got along with them pretty easily and it filled your heart with warmth. They were the first people you were hanging out and feeling comfortable with since you met Mika and Hyoma in middle school. Maybe those two really would be able to become your new friends.

Reo picked Nagi up from the ground and started carrying him on his back as if it was the most common behaviour for them. Well, probably it was, considering that they didn't seem to be normies.

»I'm hungry«, you stated with a desperate sigh.

»Me too«, Nagi agreed.

»Alright, let's call it a day«, Reo decided and Mika gathered a few things up from the ground, before the four of you parted ways.

When you were home alone a few hours later, your tummy stuffed with soba noodles, you let yourself fall down on your bed. Mika had scolded you that your diet wasn't really that balanced but you didn't give a damn about it and simply threatened to eat his portion as well. He had apologised and didn't say anything about your eating habits anymore.

Your best friend surely has had a good intention with that but such remarks always reminded you of your lack of ability to live alone yet. With a sigh you picked up your phone and saw a new message from Choki56. You opened Discord and saw that he had sent you a picture.

Nagi put his phone away and felt slightly out of character. Something inside him did just feel like smiling, although he didn't. Whenever he talked to NemesiS, he felt a little less unbothered than usually. However, it was the same when it came to his classmate (Y/N).

With these thoughts in mind he fell asleep and had the most interesting dream...

And just like that you told Hyoma everything that happened since the new game arrived at your favourite Arcade.

»Wait, so that means you found yourself a rival whose identity is unknown to you and you played football with your classmates? Basically, you're making new friends?«

»Yup«, you were proud of your social progress.

Hyoma gave you a genuine smile: »I'm really happy for you, (Y/N).«

»Thank you!«

»Woah, your eyes are sparkling! You really must like these new people in your life! Are you that close already?«

You remembered how you called Choki „sugar daddy" and that you are basically appointed for eating donuts together. You two really were getting very comfortable with each other. »Well...«

Then your thoughts wandered to the situation with Nagi on the football field, where he touched your head and complimented your football skills. Also how you two won the match since you teamed up very well. Heat rose to your face. You looked at Hyoma and it was obvious that he knew. He was a calm and intelligent boy, he surely would not miss the obvious: You were falling in love with two people at the same time.

Oh no. No no no. It's not love. It can't be. I don't even know what love feels like. And I don't know THEM really as well! It's just interest and...excitement. Yeah. Excitement because I am usually bad at making friends. That's it!

»So...«, Hyoma's soft voice snapped you back to your current situation. The two of you were sitting outside a café in Tokyo. »Shall we leave and go to your house?«

»Yes! My Nana will probably come around the evening. If we leave now, I can show you this book I found in the library a while ago. You might like it a lot!«

»Can't wait to see it, you always have the best book recommendations.«

»Of course I have«, you grinned.

Hyoma simply laughed: »Man, you're still the same old (Y/N). Still having that superiority complex, huh?«

You pursed your lips, feeling caught. Hyoma only laughed. »I'm glad though! But don't you get rid of me as soon as you find new friends!«

»Surely won't!«, you smiled back at him.

Nagi and Reo were having a break from their training on the football field. Even on a Sunday Nagi wasn't safe from his friend's strict and continuous training.

»I wanna go home«, Nagi stated, sweat tickling his forehead. Reo stood a few meters away from him, taking a long sip from his bottle. »Just a little more, Nagi. Do it for me, please!«
The white-haired boy just wanted to protest timidly, when Reo pointed out: »Hey look! There's (Y/N)! Shall we greet her? Hey-«

»Hm? Why do you stop mid-sentence?«, Nagi stood up, walked towards Reo and tried to spot you either. As he stopped, he cocked his head in confusion. »Who is that boy beside her?«

Reo looked at his friend, he was a little surprised by Nagi's sudden interest in...something. He asked himself if it could be that his friend had found interest in you. The thought made him grin. He would surely find out about that. »Maybe it's her boyfriend«, Reo assumed in a nonchalant way, curiously observing his friend's reaction.

»Her boyfriend?«, Nagi repeated contemplative and something inside him just didn't feel right. Still, he thought: His hair is so long. He looks very pretty. Probably they would be a good match then...

The way the boy with the reddish pink hair looked at you made Nagi feel something he didn't really like. It made him feel something he encountered when losing against NemesiS.

»Reo?«

»Yes?«, the violet-haired boy turned around to his friend.

»Why does it feel like defeat when I see (Y/N) with another boy?«

Reo looked at Nagi with a mixture of surprise and pride. He has had the assumption already, yet he wouldn't have thought that Nagi would just admit his interest in such a carefree manner. But somehow it seemed like his friend wasn't even aware of it himself yet. »Seems like you're falling in love, Nagi«

»Falling in love?«, the white-haired boy looked back at Reo.

»Yes. You're falling in love with (Y/N).«
