WHEN FINNEY HEARD that Avery Brown was very much alive, with a heart beat and everything, he wasted no time and quickly rushed to see her in the hospital. The entire ride there he couldn't get a smile off his face, his eyes filled with happy tears, glad that the girl he loved was alive. He looked outside the window of his dad's car and he had never been happier or more thankful in his entire life. He had escaped that horrible man that made his life miserable for days, and he had just found out that the girl he thought he had killed was alive and he was going to be able to see her.

While many thoughts were running through the boy's mind, he hadn't even noticed they had arrived at the hospital, but when he did, he quickly rushed inside.

He talked to a very nice woman at the front desk, giving Avery's full name so he could visit her. The woman gladly gave Finn the room number, room 46. Finney then thanked the woman and headed to the room.

Each step he took, he got closer to the girl he had fallen for years ago. He walked slowly, thinking about what he would say to the girl. He didn't know if he should apologise since he felt as if her near death experience was his fault. But he also wanted to tell her how much he actually loved her. But then, something hit him. Even though many told him the opposite, Finney felt as if the girl had almost died because of him, what if she was angry at him? Or upset with him? He would be crushed, but would understand, I mean he would have to. No, Avery didn't seem like the type of girl to get mad at him for that. But, maybe she would. Different scenarios kept running through his head, all in which ended up in Avery yelling at him, telling him to get out and leave her alone. The boy continued overthinking his entire way to her room, afraid of what would happen once he encountered her again. After what happened when he last saw her, he wasn't fully prepared to see her again, he worried what her reaction would be like.

The moment Finney lifted his head up he saw a door with the number 46 on it. He sighed and breathed in deeply, getting ready for whatever would happen once he walked through this door. He grabbed the door knob, but once he did, he had a sneak peak inside, since there was a glass part on the door, revealing what was happening inside.

Inside that room Finney Blake saw the girl he loved, laying on a hospital bed. She had a kind, toothy smile on her face as she talked to one of the hospital nurses that was inside the room together with her. Finney stared in awe, looking at the girl inside, mesmerized, as if it was the first time he was ever looking at her. Suddenly, the girl let out the most amazing sound Finney Blake had ever heard, her laugh. Avery Brown's laugh felt like music to his ears, her genuine, joyful laugh. And even though the girl was in a hospital bed with a wound in her stomach, she managed to give a bright smile that could light up an entire room. The thoughts Finney was having a few moments earlier simply melted away. He realised Avery would never be the kind of girl to get mad at the boy, she knew it wasn't his fault, and never in her life would she blame him. Finney tried to suppress the smile in his face as he watched the girl, but failed miserably.

Finney felt a sudden boost of confidence, and with no hesitation he swung the door open wide, and as soon as he did, the two heads inside the room turned towards him, leaving him flustered and embarrased, he definetly did not think this through. Everything he was about to say floated away as he looked into Avery's eyes, her hazel, deep, beautiful eyes he had fallen for ever since he layed eyes on them.

"Finn, hi." Avery said, suppressing a smile. Even though she didn't show it, she was surpised to see him there. She hadn't received any warning or anything to let her know that he was coming. She wasn't mad at him, not in the slightest. She was happy to see him, see that he was okay. The girl didn't blame him for what happened to her, it wasn't his fault so there was no reason in why she should be blaming him, or that he should be blaming himself.

"I'll give you two some time." The nurse smiled, and Avery returned the smile and thanked the woman.

Finney didn't know what to say or do. Ever since he had walked into the room he hadn't taken his eyes off Avery once. The girl left the boy speechless, she locked him in some type of curse where he couldn't function around her, he couldn't speak or take his eyes off her, and he couldn't explain why.

"Finn? You okay?" The girl asked with a small smile. Avery loved him so much. These past few hours the only thing in her mind was him. She couldn't take him off her mind no matter how much she tried. Every single thought that ran through her brain was about him, his name was always being used in every single thought. The image of him felt like glue, sticking to her and her thoughts. She missed him, and she cared for him. The girl had never felt like this about anyone, none of her other crushes she's had, none of her friends, nothing. But she couldn't control this feeling, she felt the need to be close to him at all time, be with him or around him and she didn't really know why. Maybe it was because of what they experienced together, maybe that brought out a side to her and to him that none of them had seen before, and that brought them closer than they've ever been.

Finney simply stared at the girl, taking everything in. He felt a mixture of emotions that he had never felt before. He couldn't believe she was alive. Only a few hours ago he was thinking about how could never live without her, he experienced her "death" and had images of her dying in his arms that would haunt him forever coursing through his brain over and over again. Yet here she was, talking to him, and here he was, completely and utterly in love with her. He thought he was going to lose her, and he couldn't lose her.

All these emotions came running back, and tears started forming in his eyes. He needed to feel her touch, he needed to be with her. Make sure this was real, and that he wasn't dreaming. Make sure the girl he was madly in love with was actually alive. Without thinking straight, he let his emotions control him and he rushed to her, embracing her with a hug as tears sliped from his eyes.

Avery was surprised when she felt the impact of the hug, his warm arms quickly wrapping themselves around her body. His cinnamon mixed with some type of plant or flowered scent instantly filled her nose and senses. It took a few seconds to get used to his touch, it was slightly painful from her wound, but she didn't mind, she quickly hugged him back, not wanting to let him go. She felt comfort in his touch and she felt like this everytime she was with him, and she knew she was never going to let him go, and she hoped he would never let her go either.

To be honest, when Avery walked out of that house earlier, she felt as if she was going to die, everybody did. She didn't want to die, she had a lot to live for and she didn't have time to do any of the things she hoped to do. But most importantly, she wanted to live for the people that loved her. The minute she felt the amount of blood in her hand increase, the only thing she could think about were the people important in her life. The people she was going to leave behind, and that she was going to miss so much. And when she woke up, and found out she hadn't died, her only wish was to see the people she loved most, and here she was, with Finney Blake, her boy. His arms wrapped around her. At this moment she was so glad to be alive and she'd never been more thankful. These emotions were too much for her, and tears started to spill from her eyes. Right now, she couldn't ask for anything more.

They spent a few moments holding each other, taking in each other's scent and touch. Taking in the wondeful mix of feelings they felt when they were together. But they slowly decided to let each other go, getting ready to talk to each other.

They looked at each other's eyes full of tears, but Avery had a small smile tugged on her lips, glad that she was with him. But Finney couldn't smile, he felt overwhelmed with all the emotions he was feeling and he kept thinking about how she had died on his arms, and how his life would've been without her.

"I thought I was gonna lose you, Aves." The boy said as he tried hard not to break down into more tears as each word that left his lips.

"I know. But I'm here now, okay?" The girl spoke in a low voice as she carefully grabbed a hold of his hand, reassuring him everything was fine.

"I know, but I thought I was going to actually lose you, and you have no idea how it felt, Avery. I couldn't lose you." Avery couldn't help but smile at his words. Even though what he was telling her was a horrible experience for him, she felt loved. Avery Brown felt like she could actually trust him and love him. She gave him the sweetest smile along with some tears that escaped from her watery eyes.

"Hey, you're not getting rid of me that easily, Finney Blake." The girl chuckled with a few sniffles, trying to lighten the mood, and succeeding because after that Finney Blake let out the warmest smile that girl had ever seen.

"It's gonna take a lot more than a few stabs to do that."

And in that moment they were sure. Sure that they were meant for each other, and that they loved each other to the moon and back. And they knew they always would.
