Song of the day: Spotlight by Mutemath. It goes well with the chapter.

Previously...
I stuffed my coat and bag in my locker since I was only gonna keep my tan, light sweater on . I looked in my small mirror that was in my locker. I licked my lips to give my gloss a bit of shine to it and tucked a few wet strands of hair behind me ear. I nodded at how at my reflection.
"Am I interrupting?"
I snapped my head to my right side in surprise. In front of me was a handsome Shadow with his black hair spiked up in the front to the side, wearing black jeans with his usual silver chains attached to them, a black tee, and his leather jacket with his motorcycle boots added. When he's in school he looks like any normal teen in the world and when he's outside in the real world that totally changes... I say this from personal experience.
I furrowed my brow and blinked a few times. "Um no I was just...putting my stuff away that's it."
Shadow smiled. "Oh right. That's what you were doing." I rolled my eyes and then smiled up at him with my eyes.
"So now do you wanna talk?" I asked hesitantly.
Shadow looked down and then looked up at me. "A promise is a promise. That means yes, but not here though."
"Where then?" I would go anywhere with him right now just to talk to him and really get to know him even in the situation we were in. Some people would completely disagree with this and rather go hide under their beds, but not me. No, I was given a choice and there is no turning back even thought I knew he wanted that...
Shadow cocked his head and said,"I have an idea where, but I want to go now though."
"Now?" I inquired with an eyebrow raised.
"Yes now if you don't mind, of course."
I pursed my lips,"Um no I don't mind. I don't feel like going to class anyway." I just didn't. I probably would be half-asleep in 3 minutes of the class.
Shadow raised an eyebrow, but decided to let it go. "Alright. Let's go before the hall monitors catch us, but I doubt that." He said ending with a smug look on his face.
I smiled and grabbed only my coat since I'm not gonna take my bag with me! I'll place it inside Jodie's locker since I knew her combination number and so she can take to me after school, I thought.
I closed my locker and walked with Shadow toward the school's exit. Along the way our hands would bump against each other, but that's as far as we would go. In the meantime I was wondering where we would be heading to since he didn't bother answering my question.
Would it be somewhere public? Like Starbucks or the Park? Or somewhere where it's quiet and peaceful?
I found Jodie's locker and stuffed my bag in there along with the key to my car since I had a feeling I wasn't going to use it in this situation. I hope she wouldn't drop to conclusions when she saw it there without an explanation.

I gaped at Shadow's ride. Do I really have to ride that thing? Where the hell did he get it? Questions were passing through my head, but instead of focusing on them I spoke them out.
"I'm not riding this thing am I? I mean I never had any experience with one these so I'll probably kill myself out there!" I said with uncertainty and fear. I'm gonna die, I thought.
My shock came from seeing a Honda CBR1100XX Blackbird: a sleek, modern motorcycle. I was gonna ride this thing, a motorcycle that could end up killing me in the corner of the street.
"Yes you are, but if your scared I'll understand that," commented a smug Shadow, a smirk was threatening to descend from his lips. Oh hell no! I'm not gonna show him I'm not a chicken!, I thought. I looked at the thing again and swallowed hard.
Shadow glanced down at me and saw the determination in my eyes, with that he reached for a black motorcycle helmet with silver stripes on either side of it that was hanging from the motorcycle's handlebars and held it out to me:
"Better put this on or you'll have a head injury..." He said, letting those words to do their job, which was to make me cringe.
I snatched the helmet from his hands and snapped it in place once it was settled in my head. I looked questioningly at him as for what to do next.
Shadow gracefully swung his leg over the motorcycle and was patting behind him, an invitation. I took a deep breath and slowly arranged myself behind him. I bit my lip in nervousness and my eyes tightened.
"Okay Arielle you have to wrap your arms around my waist and hold on, okay? (I quickly nodded) Here we go!" He said. I closed my eyes and tightened my hold around him as he turned on the motorcycle and did some other things since I wasn't looking.
Then the next thing you know we were off. I gasped at how fast we were going, but still kept my eyes closed since I didn't want to look.
The wind roughly went through us, that it made our clothes slapped together at the force. I heard cars and buses go by us by the sounds I was getting and the smell of musty rain still hung in the air. After a few minutes I decided to look after I fully convinced myself it was going to be okay.
I gave Shadow's waist a squeeze and slowly opened my eyes. The images of cars went by me in a blur and had me shivering in fear. I think I went in 5 shades of white.
Shadow startled me by saying,"Everything will be alright Arielle so don't be scared. I'm here remember." He glanced at me at the corner of his eye and gave me a protective look. I nodded in response and relaxed my rigid position. He looked back at the road and made a sharp curve to the left making us lean to the side.
I took a look around to see where we were. I didn't get much since I didn't recognize this street. Just some Oregon lakes, a few shops like for an example a coffee shop which I totally craved for right now. I know, I know that came out of nowhere and it didn't seem like the right time, but I'll dismiss that until later. Shadow accelerated his speed and we went flying through the streets of Oregon. Behind us someone honked at us as we passed them, I blushed.
Then something happened: I just noticed how close I was to Shadow that I could smell him. It was the same earthy smell mixed with some kind of soap which was pleasant. I blushed inside my helmet, thankful that I was out of his sight and I had the helmet to hide in. I loosened my hold on his waist a little and decided to break the silence between him to just ignore the thought of him soo close.
"Hey where are we going anywhere anyway?" I said in a loud voice since it was necessary.
"Were almost there, just a few miles until we reach it," he answered back.
"Reach what?"
"You'll see." He said with finality as he threw a grin a me over his shoulder. When I said I wanted to make small chat...I didn't mean this. I wondered where we were going.
After a few minutes we weren't in the crowded streets anymore, we were going through a road that had trees on either side. A forest. Trees were all around us and I could see the sky above the treetops. The sky had swirling clouds and the mood was kind of mesmerizing in a way. I curiously looked around me and saw different kind of trees like Vine Maple, Pin Oak, Red Maple, Scarlet Oak, Flowering Dogwood, Incense Cedar, and much more. Oregon had a lot of trees. A squirrel retreated to it's home and a few raccoons stood on their hind legs as they looked curiously at us as we passed by. I would've done the same thing if I were them.
"Where are we?" I whispered in awe as I took the whole forest in. It was just majestic and it's beauty stood out. The trees leaves were perfectly green and the rest stood out like in 3D.
I didn't notice Shadow was here with me since the forest full of trees had caught my attention and the curiosity of it hit me.
Shadow said,"Were close to my home." It was the only thing he said to me. I gaped and immediately thought "Why!"
Before I could ask a huge house descended from behind the trees. I'll correct myself a huge cabin descended from behind the tress. I gaped and looked at Shadow with frantic questions shooting from my eyes.
"Welcome to my home, Arielle."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Not how I wanted it to end, but I'll leave it like that and write more later. Hmm...what else...oh yeah the whole motorcycle just popped out of thin air and I decided since Shadow's the bad boy kind of type I'll add the motorcycle. Once when I was like 9 or 10 my dad invited me to ride in his motorcycle, but me being small and scared of it said,"No!" So yeah I came close to riding the thing. Anyway that's it and bye now 'cause I can't seem to think of anything else! -makes the peace sign and sticks tongue out- haha
