I felt myself being pulled from the darkness below as the light above came closer.

I opened my eyes slowly, seeing everything was a blur. Once they were calmly open, I realized I couldn't breathe. There was something in my lungs, something keeping me from breathing.

I-I...can breathe!

For a natural instinct, I laid on my side and started coughing, seeing some droplets of water spurting out onto the wooden dock.

It was quiet for a while before I was turned on my back to see the darkened sky, though it wasn't fully dark. It was the light-navy blue sky.

I then spotted the dark-blue hair that was there for me.

"(First Name)!" He said, gripping onto my shoulders. He pulled me up and brought me into the tightest embrace. I felt the warm tears roll down my shoulder.

You're...c-crying, A-Aomine...y-you're going to make me c-cry too...

I slowly brought up my arms due to my weak state of body and touched his back. Then gripping onto his dry t-shirt.

I'm sorry for leaving your side...you were busy dealing with logs and I just left you...

The classmates surrounding us had frowns on their face; the guys stood with their arms crossed; the girls stood there, about to cry.

I regained my breaths and hugged him tighter, "I'm sorry for leaving-"

"No, I'm sorry for not coming with you." He interrupted. He released me from the embrace I loved, making me disappointed. He helped me stand up, holding me.

He then took off his shirt and tossed it to me. I looked up at him curiously.

"Wear it, you'll catch a cold." At that very moment, I sneezed. I shook my head and wore the t-shirt he gave me.

It's warm...

I looked down to see it until my knees.

He's really tall...

As I was about to walk, Aomine knelt down with his back facing me.

Does he want to give me a...piggyback ride?

He grunted and looked at me from over his shoulder, of course - I reluctantly touched his shoulder and stuck my legs in between his torso and arms.

He stood up, which surprised me as I was seeing everything at a taller viewpoint. I slowly, but hesitantly rested my head on his back, hearing his heartbeat.

Your heart is pounding.

It's really pounding.

You were worried.

About me...

Everyone was cleaned up; showered and everything. Everyone gathered around in the living room, teachers explaining that the instructions were to tell each other what you can do and can't.

As everyone started chatting, there was a scream heard from upstairs. It wasn't just any normal, "scare" scream or "fun" scream.

It was bloodcurdling. Everyone snapped their heads to the attention, some of us starting to feel a pit of discomfort in our stomaches.

The teachers instructed for everyone to stay down stairs as they checked out the problem.

Everyone looked worriedly at each other, exchanging whispers. Until, they heard the teachers' scream. It was a loud yell, crash and bang.

Before I knew it, Aomine picked me up and slung me over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes, going to the closest possible closet. I hesitated before I spoke.

"N-No, A-Aomine you can't go...it's too-!" I was cutoff by Aomine locking lips with mine, caressing my left cheek. I felt another burning sensation in my eyes as I tried to grab him before he said, "Stay here, I have to find Satsuki." I missed his shirt. I missed him.

He shut the door after as I curled up into a little ball, hearing all the sounds on the outside; screaming, yelling, things being crashed, thrown, destroyed.

I silently stayed for a while, nothing quieted down. I covered my ears as I closed my eyes tightly, forcing tears to come out. I shook my head every time I heard those noises, scared of what was coming next.

The closet door opened; hoping for me to see Aomine, but it wasn't.

I came to the conclusion that the cottage was broken into.

H-How?! This is a heavily forested area!

I came face-to-face with the culprit. I froze in place, my eyes widening from the sight.

He roughly grabbed my arm and pulled me out as I felt the pain of his grip lingering on my arm. He swung his arm around my neck, pulling back as my breathing was interrupted, roughly.

I then felt something was pointed to my head, "Nobody move or I'll shoot!" He shouted at the guys who attempted to come and save me. I brought my hands to hold his arm from blocking my air way any more. At any moment, I was ready to pass out. "Nobody call the police! Nobody gets hurt!"

He sounds like an amateur...

"Y-You don't want to hurt me...j-just take whatever and go!" I shouted through struggled breathing.

"Shut it, lady!" He retorted, gripping his arm tighter and pushing the gun deeper into my temple.

"I'll take the bullet!" I suddenly heard.

No. That voice...it's way too familiar! What the hell are you talking about Aomine?!

I looked up to see Aomine standing there, his stance almost desperate to see me in the arms of the attacker. His legs were spread, his arms were open, his body language saying, "take me".

I looked back at the attacker to at least try to see what he would do, but instead, I met the gun being pointed away from me.

Everything went in slow motion. The pulling; the smoke; the bullet; the expression; the blood.

I watched as the person who I cared so much for; gave in for; showed so much to; loved, fall to the ground so slowly, my heart was even slower.

I watched in slow motion as the other guys attempted to catch Aomine, helping him.

I felt like my world was crashing and burning even more than it was.

I felt something build up inside. Sadness, heartbreak, shattering mind.

Rage.

I stepped on the guy's foot and elbowed him in the face, making him fall onto his back. He wasn't the thinnest person, the bigger they are, the harder they fall.

I grabbed the gun and aimed it at him, straddling him as I felt even more fire and fury build up inside. "H-Hey we can-"

I aimed it down at his gut, shooting him three times. He passed out. I took long, deep, hyperventilated breaths as I looked down at my hands, seeing a gun and some blood. I gasped and threw the gun away, falling off.

Had I just killed someone?

I saw him breathing, but it was faint.

I realized about Aomine and ran over to him, seeing a pool of blood underneath him. He was unconscious. The guys and girls had already called the police, news was, nobody was severely injured except for Aomine.

I cupped his face as my tears rolled down my cheeks; dropping onto his face.

I pushed pressure onto his bullet wound, awaiting for the authorities to arrive. I couldn't feel anymore helpless.

Someone I love was shot.

I laid down on his chest and cried; weeped; sobbed; wailed; I was distraught.

I screamed out his name in full agony and terror, my world still felt like it was shattering into a million pieces.

You can't die on me! You can't...
