Arabella's POV

With a grunt I untangled my legs from the duvet, groaning in agony as I buried my face into the plush pillows beneath me. I sighed, smacking my lips softly as I slipped back into a deep and dark abyss.

"Are they dead?"

"No, I don't think so."

"Should we tell them that they're on the front of the newspaper?"

"Nah, we'll let them find out on their own." In annoyance, my eyes flickered open and through my vision, it's as if I could see my pupils dilate and adjust to the bright light that ricocheted off the window panes and straight into my eyes.

I parted my lips, preparing myself to cuss the peering eyes until the disgruntled sound emitted from someone's lips from beside me. Tilting my head sideways I was the least surprised to see Tyler's dissatisfied face beside me.

"What the hell were you guys up to last night."

"I'll tell you when I'm not in the I-wanna-puke mode so just get out, I'll–we'll be down for breakfast."

Aaron flashed me a skeptical glance and chuckled as he motioned for everyone to leave. They all followed behind until the door slammed shut behind their backs.

I sighed deeply and flickered my burning eyes shut, I could feel the wax built-in on either end and the unheavenly taste in my mouth. I so need a bath.

Last night with Tyler was a night that I could never forget. The most unforgettable moment was the time that Tyler shoved me into the water fountain after I asked him to snap a photo of me sitting at the edge of it.

Not so surprisingly I pulled him in as well and by the end of the night, we were both soaked from head to toe drinking a bottle of champagne as we walked back home barefooted. By the time the hands on the clock stroke three we were basically knocked out on my damp bed.

Deciding that now would be the right time to get out of bed I flung the other half of the duvet off my now crusty air-dried red gown from last night Nd tired to roll off the bed, but Tyler's hands were seized around my waist as he tugged me back into his chest and grunted softly.

"Please tell me I'm not the only one with the messed up hangover." He mumbled groggily.

"Nope, same here," I replied. He hummed softly and before I could comprehend his sudden movement I was pinned down beneath his chest and trapped in his hold, my legs logged underneath his and arms above my head.

He recoiled in shock which caused my eyes to widen as well. He gasped then shook his head as he unpeeled and squinted his eyes for a full thirty seconds. "What!?" I gasped when he cocked his head to the side and chuckled.

"You look like utter crap."

"So do you!" I gasped.

"Ha, ha, ha!" He deadpanned. He rolled his eyes and retracted from my body before pulling himself off the bed and sauntering into the bathroom and after moments of complete silence. . .he screamed.

I stumbled off the bed in a panicked frenzy and rushed into the bathroom only to see him staring at himself in the mirror in complete horror. "What now!" He shook his head and ran his hands over his face before sucking in a deep breath.

"I just saw the most horrendous thing in the entire world." He exclaimed dramatically. I rolled my eyes and leaned against the frame of the door.

I have a feeling the wine isn't really out of his system fully.

"What?"

"Well at first it was me but I was just ugly you see. Then you came and goddamn it hit me, you're not as half beautiful as I am." Pushing myself off the wall, I narrowed my eyes to slits. "Go screw yourself Tyler."

"Already have you for that sunshine."

"Go bathe so I can come next. I have a meeting to attend to." I grumbled as I walked out of the bathroom and back into the room. "Come shower with me!"

"No!"

"Why!"

"Because I said so!"

"But why Exactly!"

"Because I said so and why are we screaming!"

"I don't know!"

I nodded my head slowly, bringing the glass of orange juice to my lips and taking a rather long sip. Max scoffed, his head shaking slightly as he lowered himself beside me. "And I thought our night was crazy."

"That photographer really captured you two beautifully I must say. The second page in the newspaper? Arabella and Tyler Hart you guys are officially famous." Nessa exclaimed as she slid the newspaper towards me.

I rolled my eyes and chuckled softly at the image sitting smack in the middle of page two in the newspaper. It was the moment where Tyler shoved me into the water fountain, apparently a photographer captured the moment and published it under the section of the, "crazy life of young adults in New York City."

I'm definitely suing his ass.

"Hate to burst everyone's bubbles but I gotta get to my interview or whatever it is." I waved a hand in the air dismissively as I placed my glass in the sink.

"Interview for what?"

"It's an interview with Tony Marks from Vogue magazine. I think he's gonna make me apply for an internship at Vogue back in DC, guys this can be a big break for me in the fashion industry.

"What!" Tessa practically leaped off her chair, her head snapping towards me frantically. "The Tony Marks?! Won't be surprised if you came back with love bites all over your body and a pregnancy test!" She spat bitterly before spinning on her heels and disappearing out of the kitchen.

"What is she talking about?" I asked, my question directed to Nessa who sighed deeply as she leaned against the counter. Her lips pursed in a thin line, "well Tony is rumoured to have slept with his clients. I mean a lot of the top employees at his company have either claimed to sleep with him or some other bogus story. And well it's no secret that women absolutely adore his handsome physic, i.e, my very rowdy sister Tessa who despite denying it is very jealous of you."

"Well good luck with that!" Erika exclaimed as she slapped me against the back, shoving me out of the kitchen frantically. I frowned deeply and smacked her in the arm as I pulled the door open to leave.

Slept with him? Do they think I'll stoop that low just for a job?

"I'm coming with you." Tyler's voice slid through my ears like a knife against flesh, his words were sharp, leaving no room for any rebuttals but I knew his reasoning behind it. And quite frankly I was disappointed that he let that story get to him. No, now I was angry.

"No, I'm leaving alone whether you like it or not Tyler!" I snapped. The shock on his face sewed my lips shut as he stood there baffled. He shoved his hands into his pocket and nodded his head slowly, his eyes low as they captured the floor. Before I could get another word out he spun on his heels, weaving past Erika and up the stairs.

What the hell just happened?

~~~
Walking through the glass doors, I couldn't help but let out a gasp as my eyes slid down the interior of the building that I have longed to step foot into ever since I was a child.
A round white reception counter curled into the cream coloured walls of the building and a short stubby woman stood behind it. Her face was those embedded on the front page of a magazine and I couldn't help but admire her platinum blonde hair that slid down her sharp collarbones visible through the white see-through blouse. Her icy blue eyes slid towards me and her white teeth flashed on full display.
"Arabella Smith, I've been expecting you. Tony is waiting for you on the fourteenth floor, room one. His name is on a plaque on the door so it wouldn't be hard to miss."
I was baffled, to say the least as I stared at her in utter shock and disbelief. She already knew I'd be here? Well, that was a slap in the face that I certainly hadn't expected.
"Ugh–Thank you. . .Ma'am."
She gushed at my formal use of language and shook her head softly. "My pleasure dear, it is my job after all. Now scurry off, Tony has a meeting in approximately twenty minutes."
I nodded my head vigorously and thanked her again as I dashed towards the elevator. I slipped in and pressed the fourteenth-floor button and waited quietly as the elevator moved upwards.
To my utter surprise, the elevator not once stopped on any floor and by the time I batted my eyes I was on the fourteenth floor before Tony's door, staring directly at his gold plague with his name embedded into it.
I knocked on the door and nervously waited till I heard his voice. For a second I doubted that Mr. Marks was even in there but after a few seconds he called out for me to enter and hesitantly I slid through the crack of the door and into his office.
"Mr. Marks." I greeted as I closed the door behind me. His eyes immediately snapped away from a folder he was holding in his palms and that charming attention snatching smile slid right across his lips.
I gulped, willing myself to not fall under the madness of his handsomeness. Shit, maybe Tyler really should have come with me.
"Arabella, have a sit." He smiled as he motioned towards the chair sitting directly before him behind his hardwood desk. "I'm sorry I'm late, had a wild night." I murmured softly.
"No need to explain yourself. The fact is you are here and that's great. So straight to business since I need to get going."
He placed both his hands on my shoulders and squeezed it lightly, his silvery eyes slid against my skin and for a moment I replayed Nessa's words in my mind. No, don't think like that Arabella!
" You have great potential Arabella. I've seen your work and I'm actually impressed, I'm willing to give you an internship here because this place needs someone like you."
"Mr. Marks I simply don't know what to say, I–I mean this is a dream come true but I just–and I mean no disrespect at all–I feel like there's a catch, you wouldn't just give me the opportunity millions of girls in this world are dying for. Even with my father's status, so what is it that you receive at the end of this deal."
He chuckled deeply, "you are quite intelligent Miss Smith. I am not giving you this for free, you still need to go through the internship program and as harsh as this sounds there are potential designers who have much more talent than you. I am simply giving you a foothold in the right path, and as for what I'm getting at the end of this deal–well that's business between your father and I."
His words rang in my ears for a second and I took it into consideration. He was one hundred percent right, I was given an opportunity but it's not like I literally walked into the building and became the CEO. So maybe there's nothing to be suspicious of.
I was taken off guard when he cupped my face in his hands and tilted my head upwards to meet his eyes. His eyes were sharp, that one silver lining blade that slid against his pupils as he stared deeply into mine. "like I said Arabella, I see potential in you and I'm not letting someone this good slip through my fingers."
"Who am I to complain Mr. Marks?" I smiled softly although I could feel the nerves eating away at the back of my head. Something seemed off here, I needed to inquire my father of this information.
Tony grabbed my hands and without breaking eye contact he brought it to his lips and placed a chaste kiss against my palm. "Pleasure doing business with you," I mumbled softly, my eyes never leaving my palm.
"Welcome to Vogue Miss Smith."
