I came back to the barn to see Peridot tied on a leash, and Steven and Amethyst laughing about something. When I made my way over there they talked about the kindergarten again and Steven saw me, deciding to add me to the travel group. I sighed and went along with it.

                            ~~~ TIME SKIP  ~~~

            We were at one of the broken, virus looking, robots. Steven banged it with a rock, Amethyst kicked it, and Peridot talked into her recorder.

Amethyst: "You making more nerd notes?"

Peridot: "What is, nerd?"

Amethyst chuckled as Peridot got annoyed.

Peridot: "Can you use it in a sentence?"

Amethyst: "Ahem. Nerd. You are, a nerd."

Steven: "Amethyst, cut that out."

Peridot turned to her recorder and started to talk into it.

Peridot: "As you can see, this planet is annoying, and everything is annoying. Among its transgressions, is a need for the Amethyst to ask permission from the Permafusion."

Amethyst: "Permafusion? Is that what you call Garnet?"

Peridot: "I can call her, lots of things. I can call her two things, two clods! Walking around like she's, one clod. Nyeeheheheheheh."

Steven: "What's wrong with that?"

Peridot: "She's not even fighting, she, you know, she's just, you know like, uh, ...... YOU KNOW!"

Amethyst burst out laughing. 

Amethyst: "You're a real gem Perry."

Peridot: "Yes, I am. A gem."

Amethyst: "Okay Okay, do Steven next. What's weird about Steven?"

I started to see where this was going and I decided to start walking away.

Peridot: "Where do I even begin? He's some sort of hybrid abomination, I don't even understand how he functions. His organic half consumes so much energy that he has to constantly feed, and he spends so much time expelling, that he has a whole room  dedicated to it."

Steven: "Uh, no, something else, talk something else."

Peridot looks at Amethyst and chuckles.

Peridot: "The strangest thing is Amethyst, you think, you have to listen to them."

I stopped and turned around, something feeling off. I started to come back. 

Peridot: "You should be the one that's in charge."

Amethyst: "Hah, that's your best joke yet."

Peridot: "No, really, Pearl is a pearl, Garnet is a fusion, I don't even KNOW what HE's supposed to be. You're the ONLY crystal gem, that's actually a gem! "

Amethyst nervously laughs.

Amethyst: "Whaat?"

Peridot: "You out rank everyone on your team. They should be listening to you. You're a strong, singular fully functional soldier. Despite the fact that you're defective."

Amethyst: "Defective?"

Peridot: "Well sure, you're small."

Amethyst: "So?"

Peridot: "Well you're not supposed to be."

She ran over to one of the holes in the cliff side.

Peridot: "To small, too low. The exit marks seem about 500 years newer than every other hole. This place must have been empty when you came out. No wonder you have no idea what you're supposed to look like!"

Steven tried to speak up but Amethyst stopped him.

Amethyst: "What was I supposed to look like?"

Peridot: "Well, you're a quartz, they're huge, loyal soldiers. You SHOULD be twice your size, broad shouldered, intimidating, but you, simply, stayed in the ground too long."

Amethyst: "Are you saying I'm wrong?!"

Peridot: "Gemetically speaking, yes. When you think about it, it's also, funny!"

Peridot continued a bit, Amethyst took out her whip and slashed the drill off the broken machine. Peridot both admired her work, and continued to unknowingly berate her. We headed back to the barn, Peridot happy, Amethyst angry, Steven trying to cheer her up, and me, just there.

                                 ~~~ TIME SKIP ~~~

Pearl admired the drill as Peridot was leashed up again. Peridot tried to make another joke as Amethyst ignored her and walked away, still upset.

Peridot: "That was the incorrect response. Hey, Amethyst isn't laughing when I do these things. Why isn't she laughing?"

Steven: "Peridot, you really hurt her feelings."

(Y/N): "Everyone likes a good prank or 'roast' on someone else, but once it's their turn, it's not funny anymore. Essentially, you should have just shut up."

Peridot: "What do you mean? I was being, cool. She loved that stuff."

(Y/N): "Yeah, because it was about other people, again, once it was about her, the laughing was over."

Peridot ignored me and looked over at Amethyst with Pearl, she waved over, causing Amethyst to frown and leave, going into the barn.

Peridot: "She. She won't even look at me. It's making me feel, smaller."

She started to stomp around and I left knowing I have no use here. I walked into the surrounding forest. As I was left to my thought I started to miss home, and I started to think about mom and dad. I got upset at how useless I am, and how I always made things worse. I split mom and dad up, I made (A/N) hate me, and I can't even help with this, cluster. I got angry and kicked some dirt up as hard as I could. I looked at what I did, and I stopped, focusing on what was now in front of me. A curved wall, that looked like a wave of frozen fire. I kicked the dirt again, trying to recreate it but nothing happened. It started to get dark and I ran to the barn. I found Pearl.

(Y/N): "Pearl! Pearl! I have to show you something!"

Pearl got up and ran over, worried.

Pearl: "What happened? Did you get hurt? Are you okay?"

(Y/N): "I'm fine, but I did something in the forest, come on."

I started to run back, before Pearl could think or try to respond. She followed me before I got to far, and eventually we made it back to my 'creation' in the woods. She stared at it.

Pearl: "What is this?"

(Y/N): "Well I, kicked the ground, and this happened."

Pearl looked at me with curiosity.

Pearl: "So you just came out here, kicked the ground, because.....fun? And then this happened?"

I looked down, not wanting to admit or talk about what was going on with my family.

(Y/N): "Yeah."

Pearl nodded, knowing there was more to the story, but left it alone as we walked back to the barn. I went inside and climbed up to the raised part, and I slept on the loft.

                    ~~~ PEARL POV ~~~

I looked for Garnet.

Pearl: "Garnet, there is something you need to see."

I took Garnet to the spot (Y/N) showed me.

Pearl: "I think something is stressing (Y/N) out."

Garnet nodded.

Garnet: "When Sapphire and Ruby do things like this, they're usually very emotional. This, looks like a work of anger. Too much motion and direction to be anything other than that."

Pearl: "Well, what was making them so mad?"

Garnet: "I don't know, but I feel like it is something internal, something about themself."

Pearl: "I guess so, but that still brings up the question, what is it?"

                     ~~~ TIME SKIP  (Y/N) POV~~~

I woke up to a lot of noise. Peridot had gotten in her robot, stolen a prismatic, crystal or some kind. Amethyst turned into a helicopter as we chased Peridot, who was running away with the weird, object. The robot got smashed, she picked up the object, and it glowed yellow as a screen showed up. Everyone hid, but I forgot to duck as I watched. A weird yellow being started to talk to Peridot. Someone off screen spoke, and the screen turned to them.

Peridot: "My diamond. Peridot reporting in."

Yellow Diamond: "Which Peridot?"

Peridot: "Facet-2F5L Cut-5XG. I'm sorry to contact you this way, but all other forms of communications have been destroyed, and..."

Yellow Diamond stopped her.

Yellow Diamond: "This says you're behind schedule on your mission to... how is, the Earth?"

Peridot: "It's full of life."

Yellow Diamond: "Organic life. And where is the Jasper I assigned you? And why aren't you calling from the ship?"

Peridot: "The ship was destroyed."

Yellow Diamond: "By whom?"

Peridot: "I-I-It was destroyed byy, no one. There was an accident, while we were landing."

Yellow Diamond: "I'll inform your manager of your incompetence, and what is the status of the cluster? "

Peridot: "The cluster will emerge shortly."

Yellow Diamond: "Good. We'll finally get some use out of that miserable planet. Thank you for your report Peridot. There'll be a ship heading to your location to take you to your next assignment."

Peridot: "Wait! I-I wouldn't have called just to waste your time with a report."

Yellow Diamond: "You already have."

Peridot: "No, I mean, the reason I called, the real reason is, I  believe we should terminate the cluster."

Yellow Diamond: "Why?"

Peridot: "The organic ecosystem creates resources unique to this world. We can't sacrifice all that potential for just one geo-weapon. I'd like to tell you some plans I came up with to utilize the planet without disrupting the local..."

Yellow Diamond: "I've heard enough. I don't care about potential and resources."

Peridot: "What?"

Yellow Diamond: "I want my cluster, and I want that planet to die. Just make that happen."

Peridot: "NO!"

Yellow Diamond: "Are you questioning my authority?"

Peridot: "I'm questioning your objectivity, my diamond."

Yellow Diamond: "You, are out, of line."

Peridot: "I just think..."

Yellow Diamond: "I'm not interested in the puny thoughts of a Peridot."

Peridot: "But..."

Yellow Diamond: "You have disrespected this channel, and my time with your presence and you will do well to..."

Peridot: "But..."

Yellow Diamond: "Shut your mouth! You have failed at every stage of this mission. Your only chance to redeem yourself is to obey this simple order. You are to leave the cluster to grow. It will tear apart the Earth, and I will take immense satisfaction in erasing that hideous rock, off of our star maps! Is that clear!?"

Peridot: "I won't do it! I can tell you with certainty that there are things on this planet worth protecting!"

Yellow Diamond: "What do you know about the Earth?!"

Peridot: "Apparently more than you! You clod!..... uh, Peridot, out!"

Everyone cheered, but I felt something very off, and backed up as Peridot handed the object to Pearl. Apparently it is not just a communication device, but also a bomb. We went back to the barn, and I went back to sleep, even though it was morning.

          ~~~ TIME SKIP ~~~

              I woke up some shaking. I left the barn to see Steven and Peridot sitting outside. Steven fell asleep to rebel.... kind of. I went to the warp pad to see where the crystal gems were. Eventually I ended up on an island where I heard a lot of splashes and yelling. I ran to where I saw two giant gems fighting, and many Watermelon, Stevens? I decided to join the fight.

(Y/N): "I'm not useless. I can help."

I mumbled to myself as I took out Steven's shield. I threw it at the green giant who was holding the pink giant with two ice hands. The shield hit the green giant on the shoulder. She looked at me as I summoned the bow that the purple giant was using, and I fired an arrow. I aimed at the green giant again, and fired, the arrow hitting her right in the face. I felt like I did enough and retreated, back to the warp pad, running back to the barn, hoping I did enough of a contribution, but a little scared to continue to get in between the two giants. 

I arrived to see Steven still sleeping. The ground started to shake violently. Steven woke up in a panic. Peridot, Steven and I climbed into the cramped drill, and we started to go down. After about 2 hours, we made it to the cluster. The cluster glowed as it tried to form. As Peridot tried to drill the cluster, Steven got a headache. He fell unconscious. Eventually, we stopped drilling and Steven woke up. The cluster started to bubble itself, and Steven helped, but it wasn't fast enough, they continued to try to form, and the bubbles kept popping. As I watched Steven try to bubble, I watched, and got an idea as I payed attention. I took a deep breathe and put my hands on the bottom of the drill. A black, slightly opaque, glassy surface spread from the drill, and started to slowly, but surely, surround the cluster. After about 10 minutes, I felt the bubble was complete, and collapsed from exhaustion, unable to notice the shock of Steven and Peridot.

              ~~~ TIME SKIP ~~~

          Eventually, I woke up in the barn. I saw that almost everyone left, except Peridot. I heard a commotion, Peridot, and someone else, were arguing. I put my eye patch on, that I haven't been wearing for some time. I looked down from the loft and saw a blue girl talking to Steven and Peridot.

(Y/N): "Steven, who's the new gem?"

Steven: "Oh (Y/N), you're finally up! Great, can you help me get Peridot and Lapis to live together?"

I looked at them and groaned.

(Y/N): "Fine. Peridot. Go sleep outside, welcome Lapis."

Peridot: "Why do I have to sleep outside? Why does anyone have to sleep outside?"

(Y/N): "Lapis doesn't like you. I'm tired so I can't think of much else, Lapis seems a lot more relaxed, and you did try to kill us, honestly you are the major problem maker here, so you sleep outside, eventually you might be able to come in, if you and Lapis start to become more friendly, but in the mean time, Perry sleeps outside."

I fell down from the loft and dusted myself off.

Lapis: "Are you okay?"

(Y/N): "I'm perfect."

Peridot: "Actually, you have many flaws, such as..."

(Y/N): "That's why you sleep outside. See you guys in a bit, and Lapis..... I feel like you're gonna fit right in. Buh bye."

I walked away, a little sleepy, and grouchy, from my long rest.
