~~~ TIMESKIP ~~~

     It's been quite some time since we went to Homeworld to get White to help us uncorrupt the gems. Yellow had invited me to Homeworld for some sort of broadcast or announcement. Yellow, Blue and White were in the throne room. I walked in.

Yellow: "Welcome (Y/N), glad to see you back."

(Y/N): "Good to see you guys too. So, what is the occasion exactly?"

White: "After some talking, we have decided to officially announce you as a diamond."

(Y/N): "I see. Are you sure that's the best idea? I mean, with Steven being revealed as Pink, and all, is a big change like this really the best idea?"

Blue: "Well, White was hesitant as well, but we believe that this is going to go smoothly."

(Y/N): "Well, then another question, or two. What Diamond would I be? And am I a full Diamond or honorary Diamond, since my gem isn't in fact a diamond."

Yellow: "First of all, you will be Black Diamond, and second, you are part Diamond, so you would in fact, be up for the spot."

(Y/N): "Well, either way, whatever you guys want. Though, what is the new diamond authority symbol going to be? If there is a new diamond then, where would it go?" 

White: "In the center of course."

(Y/N): "I assumed as much, but it's good to make sure everyone has thought everything through. Okay, when is this happening?"

White: "In a few minutes. We are getting things prepared, then we shall get you ready. I mean, of course you humans do love your multicolored clothing and all but..."

(Y/N): "For such a large announcement you would rather I wear something more, 'gem-like' in terms of fashion. Yellow, do you think that 'the outfit' will be appropriate?"

Yellow: "What are you... oh, yes. I believe that should be just fine."

White: "What are you talking about?"

Yellow: "You'll see. I just hope they don't wear that cape."

     White looked at her.

White: "What's wrong with capes?"

     I went into my void world and equipped my gem outfit. My sunglasses, black cape, dark grey shirt, with a black 'X' cross on it, and my black pants. I went back into the throne room.

(Y/N): "What do you think?"

White: "Not bad. Could be better, but it is much better than those chaotic Earth outfits."

(Y/N): "Well, I don't think that most outfits aren't too bad, but there are some matches that do not belong, and therefore should never exist."

White: "Yes. Finally, someone gets it."

Yellow: "Hmm. For a human, you have an amazing sense of events and taste in gem culture."

Blue: "Yes, that is quite odd."

White: "Well we can catch up and chit chat later. We need to get ready for the broadcast. We are currently having a throne being brought in. Don't worry, it will be human sized for you, and it will be above Pink's throne, and below mine."

(Y/N): "Oh of course, indicating the placement on the Authority Diamond."

White: "Exactly."

     Two gems appeared in the doorway carrying a black throne. A few more came in and took a few measurements and found the exact center in between Pink and White's throne. They placed it there with some hovering technology.

White: "Hmm, you won't need stairs will you?"

(Y/N): "Oh of course not. As long as I have seen my destination I can easily go there whenever."

White: "Of course."

     The gems saluted to the Diamonds before leaving, passing by Yellow and Blue Pearl who were bringing in recording equipment of sorts.

Yellow: "So we shall review events that have happened recently, (Y/N), you wait behind the cameras, and after we mention Earth, and the gems who have been healed, we bring up (Y/N), and introduce them as the new Diamond-"

White: "Yes, and that is when you (Y/N), will appear on your throne. Perfect. You got that (Y/N)?"

(Y/N): "Of course, wait for my introduction, and there will be a clear moment for me to make my grand entrance, of sorts."

White: "Correct. If everyone is ready, then let's start."

     Yellow and Blue nodded, Yellow Pearl gave the thumbs up that the equipment was working, and Blue Pearl confirmed that the equipment was ready to broadcast.

White: "Perfect."

      Yellow Pearl started to count down, making sure everyone was aware when they were going to be live. I made sure to be well behind the equipment and out of view.

White: "Welcome everybody. With the introduction to Era Three, a lot of things have changed. Let it be revealed that Earth has not been obliterated, and most gems on Earth have been healed. And speaking of gems from Earth, we are here with a very important announcement. From Earth, we have not only gotten our Pink Diamond back, but we have the addition of a new diamond. Welcome, Black Diamond!"

     There was a pause, I took this moment to teleport onto the black throne.

White: "Thank you everybody for seeing this very important announcement."

     Yellow Pearl gave the signal that the equipment was now off.

White: "Perfect."

(Y/N): "Well, if that is all. Thank you for this, honor, and I should be heading back home now."

Yellow: "Wait. We would also like to invite you to live at the Palace. Your old room is still here, and you know you can train in the arena any time."

(Y/N): "Thank you, but I still prefer Earth. But remember, I am just a moment away at anytime. If you guys need to talk or something, I can always just come here."

White: "Of course, though before you go. When you and Steven came to ask for my help back on Earth. You were able to take my power and make it your own. Why did you collapse?"

     I sat there for a bit.

(Y/N): "To put it simply, I cannot handle your ability. This is where being part human is being a heavy downside."

White: "Interesting. And yet, your immunity?"

(Y/N): "Oh, that one is simple to explain. Your ability, as you should know, works by emptying out your target, turning them into a puppet of sorts. But for me, simply, you can't empty a void. Because a void is, emptiness itself."

White: "Yes, I see."

(Y/N): "Well, if I have some questions, I will be back, and if you guys need to talk, you know where I will be."

     I teleported to the temple. I jumped back when I saw Garnet standing there in front of me.

(Y/N): "You scared me."

Garnet: "I know. We need to talk."

(Y/N): "Okay. I assume you already know the news?"

Garnet: "Yes. Congratulations, let's go."

     We went to the warp pad and warped to the sky arena. We went up the steps and into the center. She sat down in a meditative stance and motioned for me to do the same.

Garnet: "(Y/N). You have so much potential yet to be unlocked. But let's work on what you already know. You know about your ability to create fire, and ice. But you have some difficulty with that, which is why you default to flames and your aura."

(Y/N): "Well, I know how to create ice, it is just difficult."

Garnet: "(Y/N). You have made a lot of progress. I didn't want to approach you before because I wasn't sure how to help you. And I didn't want to make you feel bad. But you have made obvious progress, and I can see you are more comfortable with yourself now. So. Be honest, how did you think you activate your ice abilities?"

(Y/N): "Well. It would always activate when I felt hatred for myself, when I felt self pity, felt sad."

Garnet: "That is because these abilities are that of passion. When Sapphire gets angry, nervous, sad, tense, or happy, by trying to suppress her emotions, she overwhelms herself, causing her ability to 'leak' out. Overflowing her form. In the past, your strongest emotions were of hatred and depression, but you have grown a lot. You can use your ability without feeling bad about yourself, you just need to practice, and that is why we are here."

(Y/N): "I see. Okay then. Let's start."

     She nodded as we both stood up. 

Garnet: "Remember. It is about passion. Allow yourself to build up emotion. Joy, desperation, anticipation, excitement. Pick one, and allow to fill your being. Then you can either suppress it, forcing your ability to come out, or you can embrace it, allowing your ability to come out in whatever way you choose. Then it will only be a matter of choosing fire or ice."

(Y/N): "Or electricity."

Garnet: "Hmm. Yes, but let's try to do that one after the basics. Usually it is best to allow your electricity to flow out through a conductor of sorts."

(Y/N): "Of course."

     I thought of my progress. My aura, how far I have come, how much I've trained. I could still be better, and this is just one step toward that, but a step forward is better than a step backwards. I felt my pride fill me. For the first time when feeling so much emotion, I didn't want it to go.

Garnet: "Remember, it is better to embrace your feelings. Try not to suppress them."

(Y/N): "What are you talking about? I am embracing them. I am happy."

Garnet: "Well then, that's interesting."

(Y/N): "What is it?"

Garnet: "It seems when you are in a state of control, you have a form of indication."

(Y/N): "What?"

Garnet: "Your gem is on fire. Well, no matter. Let's continue. Try to form an ice pillar. As large as you can. Remember to use your body. Your body can be a tool to help you focus and direct your abilities."

(Y/N): "So, an ice pillar?"

Garnet: "Yes."

     I squat down, keeping my base firm. I got ready to rise, my arms tucked by my side, but my forearms out in front. I took a deep breath, imagining ice rising from the ground, a straight block. I rose, lifting my arms as I did. A pillar of ice rose with me. It was about six and a half feet tall, about 4 feet wide, and 4 feet thick.

Garnet: "Not bad. Good stance. Now, try to make a spike, this time, aim it away from us."

     I nodded and got into a wide and low stance. I rotated my body, letting my leg swing, as I reach my hand out forward as I face away from Garnet.  A large ice spike protruded from the ground, diagonal.

Garnet: "Interesting. You seem to understand an efficient way of using your ability."

(Y/N): "Well, having a clear head does help."

     Garnet nodded. We stood there for a moment. I wanted to say something, and Garnet knows that, but I am a little hesitant.

(Y/N): "Garnet."

Garnet: "Yes, (Y/N)?"

(Y/N): "When were back on Homeworld, and you guys formed obsidian. I felt something. A connection, like I was suddenly missing a piece of myself. Then, when you guys unfused. I felt like I was whole again. I felt better than ever."

Garnet: "I see. And you want to tell everybody else, but you are also don't want to say anything until you done thinking things through and figuring things out?"

(Y/N): "Yes. I mean, if I am obsidian. Can I summon her sword? Or sword hilt? Do I also have the ability to spew lava?"

Garnet: "I am sure we can figure these things out. And we would love to help you with this."

     I smiled and nodded.

(Y/N): "Thank you Garnet."

     Garnet nodded and got up.

Garnet: "Training is over for today."

(Y/N): "Thank you. This was very helpful. I am glad to be apart of this family."

     We went back to the temple.
