On the way back to pothead heaven, Charleigh kept thinking about what Isaac's analogy meant to her.

She had already dropped her best friend home, but she really wished she hadn't so she could tell her what happened.

"We're really going swimming tomorrow?" Ian asked, out of no where.

"No, not 'we', no one's going swimming," Charleigh told her little sister, focusing on the road. She gripped the steering wheel tighter.

"Then why was Riley talking about going swimming or something?"

"Just don't worry about it," Charleigh told her firmly.

She turned the Hyundai on to the familiar unattended grass and it dug in to the soil.

"I don't want to go in there," Ian's voice broke on her last word and Charleigh felt guilty for her sister.

She knew she'd angered Ron earlier and was unsure of how he would react when she walked back in.

Lei parked by the tree in the front of the trailer.

The two sisters could hear the pumping music blaring from in the trailer.

"Just whatever you do, hold your nose like I taught you, breathe only when you need to. I'm not sure what kind of drugs they have in there."

Ian shook her head, obeying her sister's warning.

The sound of their feet crunching on the dead ground was almost muted by the loud pop music.

Charleigh got her key and unlocked the trailer door.

The music was booming from the inside as Charleigh and her sister walked in.

As they walked in, Charleigh was grabbed by something and she screamed as it pulled her close.

A sharp object was placed against her neck and she looked down in fear.

A butcher's knife was barely inches away from the pulse in her throat and she nearly fainted on site.

Ian looked like she had seen a ghost.

Her blue eyes were watery and her skinny body was shaking violently.

"Hey there, sugar," Ron's husky voice whispered in Charleigh's ear.

Charleigh trembled when she felt the blades of the knife graze against her neck.

She couldn't form words in her brain and everything just felt numb.

She could also feel Ron's erection through his boxers poking in to her leg.

Charleigh felt the urge to throw up and her eyes darted around the trailer hazily and spotted her mother out of the corner of her eye.

Giovanni was sitting on the sofa with a blank expression plastered on like a mask.

Charleigh couldn't tell what Giovanni was thinking but then she spotted the white lines.

Fucking cocaine.

Ian was still as frozen as a statue and Charleigh could feel Ron breathing on her neck.

"W-what do you want from me?" she stuttered out.

"I asked what was in it for me if I told you where the keys were and I want you." His breath reeked of Hennessy, Charleigh only knew the certain smell because it was her mother's favorite drink.

"You can't have me," Charleigh told him, almost in a whisper.

"Is that so?" Ron's grip on the knife got tighter and panic seized in her chest.

She felt like she couldn't breathe and the small trailer felt tighter than ever.

With his left hand, Ron tried tugging down Charleigh's jeans and she grabbed his hand and dug her nails in to his skin.

He winced in pain and chuckled evilly.

"You must really want to die, Claire."

'Charleigh', she thought for a second.

"Please let me go." Her voice was shaky and she kept looking at her drug-induced mother.

Ian was silently crying and watching in misery. She knew that if she moved, Ron would try and do something to her too.

"Mom!" Charleigh screamed helplessly. She rarely called her that, only when she was scared and couldn't help herself or if she was introducing her to someone, which she never did.

Her mom was out of it, it's like she was staring in to another dimension.

"Did you roofie her?!" Charleigh exclaimed. Ron didn't answer her question but simply let the blades of the knife tear in to Charleigh's skin little by little.

She cried out in pain as she felt little droplets of blood beginning to fall down her chest and her vision started to fade.

"Let her go!" Ian choked out, her voice getting caught in sobs,"I'm going to call the police!"

"Call the police and both of your asses are dead," Ron threatened.

Charleigh's sight and hearing was slowly starting to fade away and Ian's voice was almost muted.

Charleigh glanced at her little sister and Ian began to back up slowly.

Giovanni got up from the couch and slowly waltzed over to Ron and Charleigh.

She looked as if she was going to trip over her own two feet.

That same blank expression was plastered on her face and her tank top was sliding down.

Ron diverted his attention to her and seemed to be disinterested in Charleigh.

"Come here, slut," Ron ordered Giovanni, and she came closer to him.

It was like she was under some type of hypnotic curse.

He took the knife from Charleigh's neck and locked lips with Giovanni.

They began to make out and Charleigh was still dazed from the knife attack.

Her eyes darted to her little sister as a signal to follow her.

The two sisters ran out the room as Giovanni and Ron were distracted.

Charleigh shut the door and turned the broken lock. It worked sometimes when it really wanted to, and she hoped it was one of those times.

Ian was still crying and Charleigh brought her in to a quick embrace.

"It's going to be okay, Ianounat. Try and stay calm for me right now. We can't both cry." Charleigh swiped the back of her palm across her cheek and ran her fingers through Ian's blonde hair.

Her little sister looked up at her with those big blue eyes and for a moment she felt safe.

"Okay, pack a bag, we have to get out of here as fast as possible."

The two began to pack the little belongings that they had, only including a couple of shirts and pairs of jeans.

Charleigh hurried over to her drawer with all of her collectables.

A loud banging emitted from the door and the sisters jumped.

"Unlock this door!" Ron yelled through the other side as he beat on the wood. It was one of those days.

"How are we going to get out now? He's on the other side," Charleigh whispered.

Ian dug in her shorts pocket and pulled out the car keys.

"How'd you get those?"

"When Ron was distracted, I got them off the key ring."

"Smart thinking, just like I taught you."

"Open this fucking door!" Ron threatened again.

"Through the window."

Ian pushed the both of the locks on the window and pulled it open.

They both ran to the car as Charleigh unlocked it and rushed in.

She pulled off on the unkept grass and the wheels were pulling through.

Ian was riding shot gun, her tiny face was flushed red from the adrenaline rush and as Charleigh continued to drive she constantly asked herself.

'What happens next?'

The blood had dried on the front of her shirt, it wasn't a lot.

The cut in her neck didn't feel alarmingly deep, it seems as if Ron only broke in to the skin.

"Ian, reach in the glove compartment and grab a bandaid for me," Charleigh said, cutting in to the thick, but comfortable, silence.

Ian did so, unwrapped it, and placed it on her big sister's neck.

Ian sat back in her seat, letting the faux leather squeak.

"If we're not living with momma, then where are we going to go?"

Charleigh still found it disturbing that Ian still called that woman her mother.

"I don't know Ianonaut, but we're not going back there..."

"What about momma?"

"What about her?" Charleigh spat.

"What if we never see her again?"

Charleigh glanced at her sister in the dark car to catch her face.

She was all teary-eyed and pouting.

"All Giovanni has ever done is neglect us and sorry to break it to you Ian, but she doesn't give a fuck about where we go. We can be dead in an alley for all she knows and she'd move on like she'd never known us."

"Lei..." Ian's quiet voice blended in to the engine of the Hyundai.

"What?"

"Where are we going?"

"I told you, I don't know yet. We're going to have to find somewhere to park and sleep in here for tonight."

Charleigh's eyes were flashing across the road in hopes for a "safe" parking lot to sleep in.

"What about Riley or Isaac's house?" Ian asked with optimism in her voice.

Charleigh glanced at her watch and shook her head in disagreement.

It's too late to go knocking on their doors in hopes to get away from my drunken mother and her perverted fiancé.

She had always hated the way her life was set up. Her dad was no where to be found, her mom was always either high or drunk, and her little sister was the only thing she had.

Charleigh knew she needed to protect Ian with all costs, especially now that she has no choice but to bring her along to the challenges.

The last thing she wants is to bring Riley and Isaac in to this.

If she only would of took some of the drug money out of the cookie jar her mother hides on the top shelf in the cabinet above the fridge.

She does it every time she really needs money, and the only way she doesn't get caught is by earning it back someway.

Giovanni checks it every Friday to make sure she counted correctly and that the value of the inventory that she gave away corresponded with the money she received.

Giovanni sells and buys drugs with Ron.

Before she met Ron, she didn't smoke.

Well yea, she'd smoke an occasional cigarette every now and then, but never crack or meth.

It's all Ron's fault, he messed everything up.

Yea, her mom was still a delusional, cursing psychopath, but it wasn't as bad.

Charleigh would be able to tolerate her easier than she can now.

But ever since that trouble maker snaked his ass in to their lives, everything was even more shittier than it had been.

"No Ian, we can't, just let me be in control of what happens."

"Okay..."

Charleigh turned in to a Chevron with no cars in it and went around the back.

She put it in park and turned her head to the right to see woods.

"Lei, I'm scared," Ian whimpered.

"I know, but you know this part of Washington has wooded areas surrounding it. I can't control it."

"How will I sleep knowing that something could come out or those woods?"

Charleigh thought off for a moment and combed her fingers through her blonde hair.

"We'll take turns, I'll stay up first. You sleep Ianonaut." She kissed her little sister's forehead and Ian balled up in her seat.

Ian closed her eyes and in no time was asleep.

She'd always slept to get away from the life she had to live with her big sister.

Her little snores calmed Charleigh a bit and made her think of the other night when she came home to Giovanni and Ron being nasty.

She shivered and thought of the sharp knife directed to her.

Ron could've really killed her if he wanted to, and that scared Charleigh shitless.

As she thought if the knife, her cut began to burn and  throb.

She's going to get that fucker back, she doesn't know how or when but she'd get him good.

She took another glance at her sleeping Ianonaut and rubbed her back.

'It's going to get better when we get that money, Ian. I promise.'
