"Why didn't you tell me?" He asked his eyes almost teary and his heart shattering.

"Look at me Haruya!" She sobbed "How could I ever face you like this?!" he stayed silent, afraid that if he spoke his tears would fall.

"I look like a corpse..!" She yet again sobbed burrying her face in her hands angrily "I'm sickly pale! You can almost see my bones through my skin..! And I even smell like shit! I.. I look horrible.."

"D-Don't say that.." his voice betrayed him by cracking.

"I'm dying, Haruya." She looked up at him with her tear-filled eyes and red, runny nose.

"Wh-What..?" He asked in utter shock not believing his ears.

"I'm dying..." she repeated this time in a soft tone as tears spilled.

Her words echoed through his mind, she was too young to die. Nagumo ran a hand through his red hair frustrated as he made his way to the hospital like he usually did these past few weeks.

"What do you mean you're dying?" His mind couldn't process her words or rather it didn't want to.

"I've been diagnosed with lung cancer, you know that don't you? I'm already too far into stage four.... the doctors can't do anything... t-to," she paused taking a deep breath in an attempt to calm herself "To save me.."

"I..."

"You don't have to say anything." she smiled bitterly as she weakly reached for a glass of water.

"Why...?"

"Huh?"

"I said why?!" He lashed out "Why didn't you tell us?! Why didn't you tell me?! Why did you keep it a secret?! Why make us believe that you betrayed us without saying a word?!"

"It's better that way... that way.. no one's going to miss me when I'm gone.."

"No!! No it's not!! Do you have any idea how many times I cried?! How many times I've denied your betrayal?! How many times I had to hold back from punching someone when they talked trash about you?! When they said that.. that.. you didn't care about us, that you were ungrateful to father, that you ran away like that.. that you suddenly left Diamond Dust because you were self-centred.. that you betrayed us.. that you were no good..!"  He finally let his tears fall.

"Haruya..."

"No! No more Haruyas!! Do you have any idea.." he broke down.

'Burn, just forget her already,' Hiroto said sternly but in all honesty he was just worried for his friends well-being.
'She betrayed us she's no good,' Reina said with a scoff.
'Stop living in the past and stop being delusional, she left Burn.' Suzuno's words were harsh but they were out of care.
'NO! NO! I refuse to believe that! She'll be back! I'm sure of it!'

"Haruya... you should forget me."

"How dare you say that to me?! After all this..! I.. even if I wanted to.. I can never forget you Y/n, I love you!"

"I know you do, and I love you too... but, it would be better for you to forget me, look at Me.. I'm a living corpse and one that's dying too.. you should find someone else, someone beautiful.. someone who isn't dying"

"I.. I can't!" He cried

"You can."

"I-- at least let me love you for the days you have left..."

She sighed softly, "Fine... But only if you promise me two things"

"Anything"

"1) after my death you'll try finding someone new and 2) you wouldn't speak a word of this to the rest of sun garden"

"I.. I promise"

"Ah Nagumo, here to see Y/n again?" The nurse asked with a smile as she spotted him at the lobby.

"Yeah." He shoved his hands into his pockets.

"You know.. I was wondering if the girl had any friends as no one seemed to visit her at all these past few years, but it seems I was wrong she's lucky to have a boyfriend like you" the nurse grinned at him before waving him off.

Nagumo simply nodded as he pressed the elevator key, he sighed as he waited to reach her floor.

"I'm not dead yet!! Stop bringing me flowers!" She lashed out crying as she threw the bouquet he brought her to the wall ultimately ruining the roses in there.

Nagumo could never forget that day or how broken she looked, it reminded him that no matter what front she put up, she was afraid... She was afraid of death and she absloutly didn't want to die.

The elevator dingged indicating that he's reached his desired floor. Nagumo walked out once the doors opened frowning at the commotion near her room.

"Get the Syringe!" A doctor shouted to which a nurse hurriedly shuffled her way out of the crowded room running down the corridors. What ever was happening didn't seem good.

Nagumo struggled to approach one of those people with white coats but once he did he asked the burning question in his mind, "What's going on?"

The doctor simply shook his head "no time to talk" he pushed Nagumo out of the way as he entered Y/n's room closing the door behind him. Nagumo could do nothing but wait.

On the other side of the door the doctors couldn't do anything but sigh "Y/n L/n, time of death 16:31, Reason, fluids building up in her lungs due to stage four cancer."

The doctors got out with a solemn look on their face, Nagumo saw that and worriedly approached them "How's Y/n?"

One of the doctors shook his head with sorrow "we're sorry, we couldn't save her," he said. When the words sank in, Nagumo dropped to his knees the sobs painfully racking through his body as his heart shattered to a million pieces Y/n was the only thought in his mind as he drowned himself with tears of agony in the middle of the hospital's halls.

It was a sunny day and as usual Nagumo was visiting Y/n, the atmosphere was peaceful "Haruya," she called out.

"Yeah?" He replied setting the magazine he was reading aside. This happened often, Nagumo spent almost all of his time after school with Y/n and as a result he'd do his homework or read his soccer magazines while he was visiting.

"What would you do when I die?"

"If you die."

"Haruya we talked about this before, I will die, if you can't bare that you should leave already."

Nagumo sighed, "Sorry.. I just, I really don't want to talk about it."

"I know you don't, but can you please answer my question."

"I'd... I'd cry.. and I.. I might follow you.." he said truthfully.

"And so I feared," She shook her head "When I die, I want you to live on Haruya, it's okay for you to cry for one day, one day only after that I want you to smile when you think about our memories together, and never ever cry over me again, I want you to live on and smile."

Nagumo knew he couldn't argue with her and knew that her request would be hard but if that's what she wanted then he'd at least try "Okay, I will."

"Don't you dare break your promise Haruya" She had thought then and thought yet again right before passing away.

"Don't you dare break your promise, Haruya"
