April pops out of her comfort zone, after hearing shouts and yells from outside of the dorms even through her music played in her headphones. She frowns at herself, putting her headphones off from her head, and getting up from the bed, walking in direction of the window of her room. She opens it bright, and looks down.

"What the- .... Mike?!", she exclaims dumbfounded by what she has discovered.

She can see Mike riding on a pig which has a hat in his mouth. And also there was Sullivan, running straight against the pig which was running off madly. April thinks that Mike needs help. So she quickly runs off madly out from the dorms, down the stairs and corridors. Some students and crew monsters inside the dorms who were in the corridors or perked out from their rooms hear her rushing off and look at her confused by that. April doesn't pay attention to these gazes on her. She burst out from the dorms after reaching the exit and runs to where she has seen Mike riding to. She stops abruptly as she can see Sullivan lifting Mike in his hands victoriously, Mike having the pig and the hat in his hands.

"Fear Tech's mascot! MU rules!", Sullivan shouts proudly as a crowd starts forming around him and Mike, applauding and cheering them up.

April sighs in relief, a hand on her chest, knowing that Mike is safe. Then a monster with a fraternity cloth on him approaches Sullivan and Mike as Sullivan has put Mike down. April hides among the crowd to see what is happening next, and puts on her hoodie in discretion.

"Did you see him catch that pig? You are Jaws Tetha Chi material, freshman!"

Mike, who thinks that monster was talking about him, is about to thank him.

"Well, thanks, I didn't know the-", but he gets cut off by another monster walking past Mike and starting to argue with that monster who talked before.

"Back off. We saw him first.", he says.

"No way, we did!", argues the other one.

April feels bad for Mike because she could see that the two fraternity monsters were rather talking about Sullivan than Mike. She didn't see how the rest of the ride was going on like, but to her it isn't polite to ignore Mike like that.

"I'll take it from here, gentlemen.", a male deep voice calls out from the crowd.

April looks to where that voice was coming from, just like everyone around the court. A dark blue greyish furred monster with horns, big fangs and a reddish fraternity shirt walks towards Sullivan, a smirk on his face. There are other monsters following him from behind with the same fraternity shirts on, one of those, looking like a crab, instead having a hat of it. April raises an eyebrow, curious to know who these people are and what do they want from Sullivan.

"Johnny Worthington, president of Roar Omega Roar. What's your name big blue?", the monster revealed to be ROR's president asks to Sullivan, taking him aside.

April walks discretely through the crowd, still hiding and observing the conversation this fraternity is having with Sullivan, while the other fraternities walked away.

"Jimmy Sullivan, friends call me Sulley.", Sulley introduces himself in return to the fraternity.

The crab-like monster gets excited, hearing that name.

"This guy's a Sullivan! Like the famous Sullivan! I can't believe it! That is crazy....", that guy exclaims happily.

"Chet, calm down.", Johnny dead pans.

"I'm sorry.", Chet excuses himself.

"Sully, any freshman with the guts to pull off a stunt like that has got "future scarer" written all over him.", Johnny assures Sullivan, proudly.

Sullivan is brought to the fraternity's house. April is stunned that Sullivan has managed to join a fraternity "this soon". Everyone has barely started this year, and he got to enter the ROR's early. She doesn't know yet what kind of fraternity the Roar Omega Roars are, but something made her feel a bit fishy. And things don't arrange themselves as she sees Mike walk towards the group of people towards the fraternity house.

"Hey, did you see me ride the pig? That took guts....", Mike starts before being interrupted by crab monster Chet.

"Slow down, squirt. This party is for scare students only.", Chet protests.

Johnny approaches Mike, leaning down to his height.

"Oh sorry Killer, but you might want to hang out with someone a little more your speed.", he starts, looking around the crowd, "They look fun."

Johnny points to another fraternity and Mike looks to them. April continues to observe the scene, trying to understand all that is happening.

"Oh hey there! Wanna join Oozma Kappa?", the leader of this fraternity exclaims.

"We have cake.", says a small monster next to the leader, showing a cake in his hands before it got eaten by a monster walking past them.

"Go crazy.", suggests Johnny to Mike, starting to leave and join back his compatriots.

April grunts internally by seeing this smarmy guy's unfair attitude towards Mike. She wished she could defend Mike, but for now, she thought it wasn't the time to interfere. As long as Johnny or any other of the RORs wasn't going to harm anyone at least. On the other side, April can see Mike confused and misunderstanding things.

"Is that a joke?", he asks to the fraternity, stunned.

Johnny sighs annoyed, looking towards Sully.

"Sulley, talk to your friend.", he demands to the blue furred monster.

"Well, he's not really my friend, but sure.", Sullivan says before turning towards Mike, "You heard him, this is a party for scare students."

"I am a scare student.", Mike protests.

"I mean, for scare students who actually, you know, have a chance.", Sulley tells him.

"Ah, snap!", exclaims Chet while the others from the fraternity laugh.

April gasps in disgust to what he just said to Mike. Now she knows for sure that she could practically hate that guy. Who does he think he is? And the Roar Omega Roar aren't any better. What kind of monsters could be so snobby like that?

"My chances are just as good as yours.", Mike states angrily.

"You're not even in the same league with me.", Sulley snaps again.

"Just wait, hot shot. I'm gonna scare circles around you this year.", Mike warns.

Sulley laughs.

"Okay, I'd like to see that.", he says, walking back to the RORs.

"Oh don't worry, you will.", Mike says to himself, taking in the challenge and walking away to the dorms.

April takes this occasion, as she could see everyone split up again and the RORs gone, to walk towards Mike and see if he is alright.

"Mike. I saw what happened. Are you ok?", she asks him, pulling off her hood from her head.

Mike, still looking decisive towards him, answers coldly to her, unintentionally, still a bit angry from what happened.

"Fine. Perfectly fine.", he says.

"You don't look like it.", April raises an eyebrow up, looking down to her green friend.

"Don't worry about me. There will be no need of that. Once I show these guys what I am capable of, they will regret having rejected me like this.", Mike assures confidently.

"Who are these guys from that fraternity?", April asks him.

"According to Sullivan, those are the Roar Omega Roar, a high elite scarer fraternity that only accept the scariest monsters. They don't know yet what they have missed. You'll see.", Mike explains.

"Huh.... must be the hardest fraternity to join.", April mumbles.

"We don't need them. We'll be better than these guys. Hard work is the best option for us both, starting tomorrow morning.", Mike says proudly.

April chuckles.

"I'm not sure if it's necessary to get past the RORs. All we need is to show all we can. We don't have to get under pressure like this..... unless you can.", April says these last words tilting her head aside, having a certain doubt on how Mike will take what she said.

"Well you know what? I can and I will.", Mike exclaims.

"I have seen that coming....", April says, shaking her head.

And so, during the whole conversation, Mike and April join back their dorms.

-

April's watch rings, showing 7:30 AM. April wakes up, turning the alarm off and getting up. She prepares herself for school, putting on her hoodie t-shirt and her trousers, brushing her teeth and get her books packed in her bag. She then takes her bag and transports it on her back, leaving her dorm with her hood on her head. She walks down the corridor to leave the dorms, when she then suddenly spots Sullivan in front of what seems his dorm, with a bag on his back and also accompanied by.... the Roar Omega Roars. She wonders what they are doing in these dorms. She hides herself behind lockers, the nearest possible, to hear and see what is going on. In this case, the RORs and Sulley seem to be laughing and chatting.

"Well, that's all I think I need. Thanks again for letting me in.", Sullivan says to the big elite scarers fraternity.

"You shouldn't be thanking us. What brought you here, is the scarer in you. Sincerely, you have got the blood of an elite, Sulley.", Johnny, the leader, tells him.

"Gee thanks.", Sulley thanks him, starting to walk down the corridor, following the fraternity out.

Chet walks around the big blue monster.

"So you are truly Bill Sullivan's son? This is amazing! I bet you are as terrifying as the whole family is! Having you with us is so cool!", he exclaims excitedly.

"Chet, please. Give him some space, will you?", Johnny dead pans.

Chet walks off from Sullivan, calming down.

"Sorry.", Chet says sadly.

April stays hidden while observing the fraternity and Sullivan slowly leaving the dorms. As she suddenly thought she could go out tranquil, Johnny pats Sullivan's shoulder.

"You can go to the house already and unpack your things. There is something I need to clarify with my colleagues.", he says smirking.

Sullivan doesn't understand what he means by that, but he shrugs.

"Oh, well ok.", Sulley says, leaving without them.

April can see Sullivan go out of the dorms, but the RORs have changed direction and disappeared behind a wall. Surprised and curious, she walks out of her hiding spot, and walks slowly to where they might have gone to. But she then stops, thinking that maybe they were just having a private reunion as fraternity. She thinks she doesn't need to bother with them that long anymore. She needs to go to her scare lessons and soon. So she turns around, expecting to leave the dorms too, but she suddenly finds herself facing the Roar Omega Roars, most of them smirking or glaring down at her. She startles, not having heard nor seen that coming. Johnny was in front of his buddies, his arms crossed, his smarmy look still on him as if everything was ok. But April knows that she might be in trouble now.

"Hi there. Where do you think you are going?", he asks down at her.

April, having gulped at these intimidating presences, and staying calm, she frowns at them, trying to show them that she isn't scared of them.

"To my lessons. I attend the scare program.", April answers calmly.

Johnny raises an eyebrow up.

"Oh, is that so? What a great opportunity you got there.", he says, looking to his comrades who begin to chuckle.

"Yep, I know that. So that is why I have to go there. Won't want to miss the lessons now, don't I?", April says, starting to walk again and try to get past the fraternity, but one of the guys with a horn on his muzzle stops her, holding her by an arm and push her back to where she was standing, "Hey, what?"

"Forgive our manners here, young lady, but there are first a few things we need to discuss about. You see, it isn't the first time that we notice you sneaking on us and spying. That's not a proper attitude now, is it?", Johnny starts.

April is stunned. She didn't think they would have known of her having watched yesterday's scene, nor from today a few minutes ago.

"Yeah! That's not polite, and we hate it when people aren't polite!", Chet scowls.

"Chet....", Johnny sighs to the crab monster.

"Sorry.", Chet apologizes.

"There is no need to be hostile now, is there? But Chet is right. Politeness is important to us, and you know that hiding your face from us with that hood doesn't show politeness. So let me help you with that.", he says, gripping on April's hood and pulling it off from her head.

"Hey, let me go!", April shouts.

Her hood is off from her head and she glares up at Johnny, her teeth gritting. Johnny chuckles.

"You should be thanking me. Such a pretty face like yours shouldn't be hidden like that.", Johnny tells her.

"If I put on this hood, there is a reason. You can't-", April starts but gets cut off by Johnny.

"Like what reason? Are you scared, maybe?", Johnny suggests, as April then looks down, her frown lightening, "Come on, we don't bite. We only scare. And we do it great."

At this, Johnny gives out a growl, which makes April startle again. Johnny's companions give out laughter.

"Aw, I'm sorry, did I scare you? Just a little advice here, rookie; if you join the scare programs, you should know to learn how to scare, not to be scared. That will help you stop spying on those who do scare. Like us.", Johnny says, having leaned down to her height.

April's glare becomes stronger at those harsh words. Johnny ignores that, and pats on her head before getting up and marching away with his colleagues.

"Until next time.", Johnny calls out, getting further into the distance.

Some people were watching the scene, but didn't react nor say anything. Which obviously makes April feel uncomfortable. She puts back her hood on her head and marches out of the dorms, irritated. She wasn't scared of them, just nervous of being cornered like that, and also she is scary, and she wants to prove it. She will prove it, just like Mike Wazowski will.

-

Professor Knight is teaching the students to give out the best roars and scare positions as possible, showing what their potential is into giving good roars and scaring. Professor Knight is passing by every single student in positions to see and advise them on how they should get better.

"Ready position. Common, crouch.", he calls out.

Everyone shows their positions and give out their growls or screeches. Professor Knight gives advises as he gets past each students' poses.

"I wanna see matted furans yellow teeth.", he says to one, "Drill sergeant, making them the best they can be.", and to the next, "Show me some slobber.", and to Mike, "Drool is a tool kids. Use it.", then to Sullivan, "Now here is a monster who looks like a scarer."

And so it goes on with a few other students until he comes to April, looking at her expectantly. She heaves her big hands and stands in position of scaring, showing her fangs, her pupils dilated, and gives out a light screech. Professor Knight hums at the look on her and on her screech.

"Not bad. Just bright up your jaw more open and give out a good glare out of these eyes. And your voice tone has to be higher, Ms. Slyther. Not too high since it is only an alert screech this exercise is about, but for next time, it has to be just a little louder. Otherwise, not bad. Take some advices from Sullivan.", Professor Knight says, going on to the next student, until there was no more, "You want a hope of passing this class, you better eat, breathe and sleep scaring.", he finally says to everyone.

-

After the lessons, she has brought out from her dorm, a big wooden platform in her hands, with graffiti spray-doses and walks to a building's wall, the most hidden and less occupied by people. She puts the platform against the wall and takes out one of her spray-doses in her hands and starts spraying on them. She has her headphones on her and her walker in one of her pockets, and is currently listening to pop music while she is spraying and making art. Hopefully she wouldn't be scolded on by someone or would she accidentally spray on the building's wall. And while she is spraying, the music rhythm gets in her mood and she softly bounces and makes small dance moves, in her trance of forgetting her worries and negative feelings. She switches spray-doses often to change color to spray on. After a few minutes, or almost an hour, she manages to create a great graffiti artwork. She has written on "Monster Punk" and has sprayed as backgrounds shapes of sharp teeth, glowing eyes, a hat and scars. She is pretty proud of it. She could almost sell it if she wasn't so protective on it. She then notices from the corner of her eyes, a fraternity made of only girls, that all pretty much look alike with their hair and body shapes, walking around the Academy's court, laughing and chatting. April frowns at herself, knowing how lonely she feels, not having many friends nor making part of a fraternity and enjoying her time with others. Mike is studying hard since today morning to practice his scaring skills, and Randall is trying to make people ate his cupcakes and accept him as a friend, so she can't hang out with them today. And even so, she is introvert and reserved, she doesn't like to talk about her to people. Especially if her fear is to be misjudged by who she is and her likes.... just like in primary school. She wishes her big brother was here with her. Before she got admitted to MU, he was always there by her side and helping her out. She loved him so dearly. And he is another thing she doesn't want to talk about either because of some secrets you will be seeing later, but his name was Andy. She remembers something he often told her when she felt discouraged or judged.

"You don't need to worry about anyone that surrounds you, April. There will always be someone to put you on nerves or judge for anything you are or do. So just forget about them. Live your life how you always wanted to. You can be or do whatever you wish. No matter who you are, show it to everyone. Show them all your potential and prove them they are wrong. And so what if they still don't accept you? You don't need their approval to be a scarer. You know already that you can become one. Their opinion isn't of use to you.", those words are those she cherishes forever since childhood.

What a big bro Andy is. He is so dear to April. And she doesn't want to deceive him. Those words, they are true to her and they mean a lot to her. Looking away from the pink wearing fraternity, she looks down to her feet, sighing. She then looks back up to her artwork, decisive.

"So what if nobody accepts me? I wish to be a scarer. I am scary. Nobody will change my mind.", she whispers to herself, taking her finished artwork and her spray-dozes in her big hands again and walking off.
