*A Few Weeks Later; It's April*

Emma: Look who it is. It's the birthday girl!

Y/N: Oh stop it

You laugh

Emma: Does Mr. Brock or Colby and his roommates know?

Y/N: No and I don't know if I should tell them honestly

Both of you laugh

Emma: If you're not going to I will!

She runs to the class and you run after her

Y/N: Wait!

She quickly runs in before you

Emma: Mr. Brock guess what day it is!

Y/N: Emma quit it! He doesn't need to know

You jump on her and cover her mouth

Colby: Come here

He gets out of his chair and you walk over to him. He puts his arm around your shoulder

Colby: What could it possibly be this time

Y/N: It's not really a big deal it's only my birthday

Colby: Well if you think it's not a big deal how about I just take you out tonight

Y/N: I mean if that's what you want, sure

He takes his arm off your shoulder and you smile as you walk to a seat. Colby grabs his phone and texts the roommates

*Text Messages*

Colby: Hey guys, it's y/n's birthday and I have an idea

Sam: Oh it is! What's the idea

Colby: I'll pretend to take her out while you set up a small party cause it seems that she doesn't like her birthday that much

Jake: and this is your opportunity

Colby: What opportunity

Sam: To finally ask her

Colby: She isn't going to say yes

Jake: You never know

Colby: Anyway, I'll take her out while you guys get it ready and just text when your done

Jake: Sounds Gucci

*End of Texts*

Emma: Where do you think he's taking you?

Y/N: I don't know but he said it would be just us so that's what really counts

Emma: What about getting you anything?

Y/N: The place he's taking me is a present that I can enjoy

Emma: Maybe he'll ask you to be his girlfriend

She nudges your shoulder

Y/N: Now you know he won't ask me that

Emma: There's a chance though

Y/N: Sure

*After School*

Y/N: So Colby, where are you taking me?

Colby: I'm just taking you out for a bit. That's all I'm saying

Y/N: Like outside?

He nods

Colby: Is there something wrong with being outside

You laugh

Y/N: No, I was just asking

Colby: Well we better get going

You walk out behind him and out of the school into his car. Colby gets a text from Jake and texts him back

*Text Messages*

Jake: We're ready

Colby: Already?

Jake: Yep, presents from each of us and everything

Colby: Well we will just come right home then

Jake: So is asking her to be your girlfriend your present?

Colby: I don't have anything else so yes

Jake: Good luck man

Colby: Thanks. We'll be there soon

Jake: See ya

*End of Text Messages*

Y/N: Who was that?

Colby: It was Jake. He said that we should stop at home before we go

You nod as Colby starts the car and drives to his place. A few minutes later and he pulls into the driveway. Colby gets out and walks to the door, you following behind him

Y/N: What do you think Jake is up too?

Colby: Uhh I don't know but we'll find out

Colby grabs the door and pulls it open. He walks in with you behind him and it's really quiet

Y/N: It's never this quiet. They're up to something

Everyone jumps out and yells happy birthday

Y/N: Awww guys, you didn't have to

Jake: Well we did! And we each got you a present!

You smile as Jake walks up to you. You hug him as everyone gets their gifts

Jake: Ready for the gifts?

Y/N: I mean, why not

Jake: Everyone get your gift and go into the living room!

You laugh a little as you and Colby walk to the living room

Colby: Sorry that I don't have a present at the moment, I can give you one later

Y/N: It's okay, you don't have to give me one, your taking me out later which is a gift that is just wonderful

You jump onto the couch while Colby sits next to you and wraps his arm around your shoulder

Y/N: So I'm guessing you did know about this

You smile

Colby: One hundred percent

Y/N: I didn't even see you grab your phone earlier

Colby: I can be sneaky like that

You laugh and everyone walks out with their present

Jake: Colby... is going last

Colby: Wow! And why is that

Jake: Cause you have the best present right?

Colby: We will see if she thinks that

Y/N: Colby, you know you always have the best kind of surprises

You nudge his shoulder

Jake: This is his best surprise yet though!

Colby: We'll see

Jake hands you his present and you open it. The same process happens for all the other roommates until it starts getting closer to Colby's turn. You see him tapping his foot a lot and him biting his nails

Y/N: Are you okay Colby?

Colby: Yea...

You frown a bit and keep opening the presents. After Sam's present it was Colby's turn and everyone looks at you two while smiling

Jake: K Colby, it's time for your gift

Y/N: He said he was taking me out somewhere and I told him it's a wonderful present

Colby: That's not it though...

Y/N: What do you mean?

He stands up and picks you up off the couch

Jake: Colby what is your gift

He says sarcastically

Colby glares at Jake and then looks back at you

Y/N: Is there something you need or?

Colby takes both of your hands as everyone else leans closer to you two

Colby: Before we go, yes there is actually

Y/N: Spit it out then, we don't got all day

You smile at him and he slightly smiles back

Colby: I'd like to ask you a yes or no question and I won't feel upset if you say no

Y/N: Okay?
