*third person POV*

As the game between us and Kamizaki the school with Daiki's friend/rival plays for. As they were doing their worm ups Gin looked at Daiki who seemed really into practice he must be really excited,I hope nothing goes wrong.

"What's wrong Mido-chin?" questioned Atsushi who noticed that Shintarou looked somewhat off.

"Nothing, it's just today's Aha-asa rankings."

"What about them~? Are they bad~?.... Give me a break Mido-chin.~"

"Cancer is ranked third today so thats no problem for me,and I have my lucky item, the two I worry for are Aomine, his sign is ranked last."

"Who's the other one?"

"It's Gin, even though his sign(capicorn.) is ranked first today Aha-asa said that capicorns should be careful because something unexpected whether it be good or bad is going to happen to them."

"I can only hope that nothing will happen."

*Kaminari Gin's POV*

"THE MATCH BETWEEN TEIKO MIDDLE SCHOOL AND KAMIZAKI MIDDLE SCHOOL WILL NOW COMMENCE. BOW!"
Announced the referee.

As the game started out with Daiki,Seijuro,Atsushi,kise,and Tetsuya as the starters with me and Shintarou on the bench. As the game began to progress into the second quarter I saw that the point gap between us and them was way to large for them ever to catch up. It seemed that our opponents realized that too because when Daiki passed his 'rival' all he did was stand there and said.

"A guy who can take you on.... There's no way someone like that exists...are you mocking me?"

As soon as that motherf*cker finished his sentence I could see from were I was sitting how much it truly effected Daiki.

'It made my blood boil.'

"..haha." Daiki laughed quietly in hysteria.

As the look of utter disappointment and cruel realization showed on Daiki's face as he walked towards Tetsuya who held out his fist waiting for his light to fist bump him.

"Tetsu... I don't think what you said was wrong. But in the end... It's no good. Somehow I've realized... I'll never find what I'm looking for."

"The only one who can win against me is me."

*CRUNCH* The water bottle that was in my hand was now completely destroyed I tossed it to the side and took off my sweater showing my basketball jersey.

"Coach sub out Tetsuya and put me in." I ordered the coach barely being able to control my anger.

"Kaminari, Tetsuya can play for a little while longer wait you tur-"

"I am not asking you coach this is a order." I told him looking straight into his eyes silently daring him to defy me.

"The game has already been decided from the beginning as long as you score then it's fine." he sighed giving into my demand.

"Teiko member change!" said the referee.

As Tetsuya walk towards me with helpless look on my face I couldn't help but feel even more angry.

"Game start!"

*Akashi Seijuro's POV*

After Gin was let onto the court the entire atmosphere changed as he got into a offensive position. When I looked at him I felt really surprised when I saw a extremely angry look on his face instead of his usual lazy look.

"Game start!" called out the referee as he tossed me the ball.

As if a switch went off inside of Gin he easily shook off the guy who was blocking him so I passed him the ball.

As the orange ball touched his hands his presence only seemed to get larger as a threatening orange and black aurora surrounded him. The other team seemed to have picked up on the new threat and decided to double team him. He barely spared them a glance as he plowed right through them as if they weren't even there.

As he was setting up to do a dunk with the ball the power forward Inoue decide to try and block him. But that only seemed to only anger Gin more as he used much more than what he should have into the dunk. Which resulted in the entire rim leaving the head board.

As be landed from the dunk hoop in hand he looked down at the power forward at his feet before saying.

"Do not talk to my teammates as if you are above any of them, your just like the rest weak." he spat at him as he said that with so much poison in his voice that I had to suppress a shiver from escaping.

"After all the weak can't decide nothing! Not even the way you lose." he spat before walking away.

As the game continued with a angry Gin and a spiritless Aomine we won the game by almost tripling the score 215-81( I know that isn't true but since I added a angry Gin to the mix thats how it would have ended up.)

As we entered the locker room both Aomine and Gin remain silent as they followed us in. I looked at Gin closely and was relieved to see that he had somewhat calmed down.

"AOMINE-KUN!! JUST NOW WITH TETSU-KUN WHY DID YOU..." Asked a worried Momoi.

"Man your annoying. I'm going outside for a bit..... I wanna be alone." he told as he left leaving a crestfallen Kuroko.

"I didn't think that my premonition would come two pass into this form...." said Midorima.

"In this kind of situation isn't Kuroko-chin the one who usually goes after Mine-chin?"

"Yeah... However, I'd say Kuroko's in shock too, at the moment that may be slightly difficult for him." I replied.

"Gin where are you going nanodayo?" asked Midorima who saw that gin was about to leave the room.

"I'm thirsty I'm going to go get a drink from the vending machines." he replied as he left the room.

As I got up to go and follow him I told the others to prepare for our next game we would be having.

After I looked around for him I finally found him by a vending machine drinking a energy drink.

"What was that back there Gin?"
"I don't know what your talking about Seijuro." he replied childishly.

"You know exactly what I'm talking about, why did you get so angry? Even I was angry at them but you destroyed them out there."

(What I'm about to say has nothing to do with how I feel about anything, I just think that with someone like Gin this is what he should say and act, so please take no offense.)

"Sigh~ I only going to explain this once so listen closely, I understand that the strong thrive while the weak are overlooked thats how it is and there is no changing that, but what I can't stand about people is weak attack the strong even if they have no right to."

I thought long and hard about what I was about to say next.

"Gin what do you think about weak people weather physically or mentally."

He stared off to the side for a while before looking me in the eyes and answering.

"Whatever I have to say about them should not changes your views at all but to be truthful.

..... I hate weak people. No, not because they are so pathetic and infuriating in their meekness. I hate them because they make me feel so cold and inhuman because how strong I am.... Our games about to start soon we better head back Seijuro." he said before tossing away his empty sports bottle and walking away.

*Kaminari Gin's POV *

As we prepared for our game against yano kougyou Daiki finally arrived with a serious look on his face.

"You're late Aomine-cchi!! You barely made it on time!" said Ryouta as the rest of them got ready for the game as me and Ryouta sat on the bench.

"Will you play?" asked Seijuro.

"...yeah" he replied with the same look on his face no excitement could be seen on his face as he got ready.

As the game started Daiki was all over the place making so many different formless shots that looked impossible for a normal player.

"But we're not normal are we? I don't think you understand that do you Tetsuya?' I thought sadly looking at the distressed shadow.

As the ball made it's way towards Tetsuya he tried to pass the ball to Shintarou but the pass was to slow and poorly aimed making it out of bounds.

The Director decide that Tetsuya was in no position to play so he subbed him out and put me in.

As I made my way towards Daiki who seemed to not have noticed my presence on the court and I extended my hand making it look like I was about to pat him on the head but hey thats not something I would do.

*SLAP!! SLAP!! SLAP!! SLAP!!*

"OOW WHAT THE *SLAP!!* HELL STOP HITTING *SLAP!! ME SLAP!! GOD DAMMIT *SLAP!! SLAP!!!! SLLLAAPP!!!*"

As I finished smacking the back of his head(I might or might not have given him a concussion.) I put my hands on his shoulders making him look me in the eyes.

"BAKA~~~ get that stupid look out of your eyes already it's really starting to piss me off.....sigh~ Now what your former rival said in that last game crossed the line..... But you have to remember that we're a team, and I'm not going to allow anyone to talk to my teammate like that....but you have to remember even if we are teammates doesn't mean we can't have some competition.

His expression started to get softer as a small grateful smile appeared on his face.

"Third person POV"

In the end with both Aomine and Gin competing on who could get the most points Teiko won it's game with a overwhelming margin, they climbed up the brackets to the semifinals.

As both Aomine and Kaminari bag around 50 points each per game thought their competitive game earning teiko the spot at the finals.

*Kaminari Gin's POV*

As me and Daiki continued to play our games with each of us competing on who could score the most points seemed to only ad depth to our friendship as we began to even team up with each other,which soon earned us the title as 'the duel aces of Teiko.' but even I could tell that Daiki didn't feel that same way he did about basketball as he did now.

"THE FINALS BETWEEN TEIKO MIDDLE SCHOOL AND KAMATA WEST MIDDLE SCHOOL WILL NLW BEGAN." yelled the referee.

"What's with these guys..... Twins?" everyone thought in unison while looking at our opponents who just so happened to be twins.

"This is the last game, whoever wins this game will be crowned as the champion. Which also means that Teiko would have two consecutive wins in a row if victorious." said Seijuro giving us a great pep talk (note the sarcasm.) as we huddled in a circle.

"Does anyone have something to add?" asked Seijuro.

"I'll shoot as many three pointers as possible, thats all." said Shintarou.

"No I have nothing to say." added Daiki.

"Uhm~ I want to finish this game quickly as possible so that I can eat my snacks soon." Atsushi replied.

"Snack do sound good right now so lets go crush them, I heard there's a really good romen stand close by." I added thinking about the romen.

"WHY ARE EVERYYON'S WORDS SO DIFFERENT!!??!" said a slightly freaked out Ryouta.

"It's okay after all this team is made up of people with different personalities, all we need is a common goal that each and everyone of us is capable of reaching." said a amused Seijuro.

After we finished our little 'pep talk' the game started with me going the tip off. As I reached the ball way before the other guy I waited until it reached it's highest peak before smacking the ball towards Daiki who quickly scored us our first point. As the game continued with me and Daiki scoring a few points,but a few minutes into the game something weird started to happen.

As the two twins finally showed their true colors as they continued to give us fouls.

When the first quarter ended Ryouta had three fouls while Daiki had four. But since we had to be extremely careful not to get any fouls we were five points behind in the game,but the thing that bothered me was how exhausted we all were.

"Sanada go with the players to the locker room first, I'll leave the rest in your hands." said the director before turning towards Daiki.
"Aomine. You'll stay here."

As me and the others made our way towards the locker room I stopped and took a black and orange basketball out of my duffer bag before turning towards the coach.

"Coach I going to go warm-up, don't worry about me I'll be back before the game starts."

He was about to say no until he saw the look in my eyes.

"Do what you have to,but do you know how to deal with the twins?"

As I began to walk away I spun the basketball on my finger before turning my head towards him.

"I wouldn't be a genius if I couldn't handle a couple of difficult players."

As I walked out the school looking around for a deserted basketball court I finally found one to the right of the school.

As I began dribbling the ball I imagined someone infront of me blocking my path. As I faked to the right my opponent followed but I wasn't finished I did something that I haven't done in a while.

As my moves became trickier I decided to add more opponents to make it harder, as 'they' began to triple team me I brought it up a notch.

"Second gear!" I mumbled.(guess I should explain his 'gears' when he switches his gear from 1 to 2 it brings up his speed and agility, when he goes into 3rd gear it brings up his strength to monstrous hithgs, but 4th and 5th gear will stay a secret until I post the sequel which I will, because the GOM don't really show any of their signature moves until after their middle school year.)

As I approached the three pointer line I suddenly stopped making my 'opponents' hesitate. Which gave me plenty of time to do a high arc shot scoring me three points as it went into the net.

As I came back to reality I was panting and sweating slightly as I saw that it was time for me to leave.

*Aomine Daiki's POV*

After the director was done talking to me my crest felt somewhat lighter but still not the same as it was before. As everyone came back from the locker rooms I saw that Gin wasn't with them.

"Hey Akashi where's Gin?"

"He went somewhere to go and warm-up properly is what he told the coach, but don't worry he should be here soon."

Speak of the devil and he shall appear as soon as Akashi said that the gym doors opened and a figure who was taller than the doors had to lean forward in order so they wouldn't hit their head. As Gin walked into the gym a black and orange basketball was being held in between his forearm and upper body.

As he walked towards us I saw that he was pretty sweaty probably from his warm-up, but what really caught my attention was the look in his eyes.

*Kaminari Gin's POV*

As I walked into the gymnasium I saw that everybody was looking at me with surprised looks on their faces. As I approached my teammates I started to spin the ball on my finger out of boredom as I waited for the game to start not even paying attention to anything else only knowing that I was going back on the court.

As the game started again Seijuro had the ball when I heard the twins talking to each other.

"What the? How did a guy like that get a uniform?" questioned dweedlde. Motioning to Tetsuya

"On top of that mister four fouls is coming in to.... I'll send him to the bench right away." added dweedledumb.

"Allow me to extend a warning. It would be best if you stopped thinking that it'll be easy to get fouls from here on out... I recommend you focus entirely on defense." warned/threatened Seijuro before he passed the ball to Tetsuya who in turn passed it to Atsushi who then dunked the ball.

As we went onto the offense for the last quarter with Tetsuya making great passes that helped us earn more and more points.
When our enemy's started to get more and more frustrated that they couldn't score anymore fouls one of the twins decided to challenge Daiki to a 1-on-1.

"....Hmm a 1-on-1, huh... Go ahead give it a shot."said Daiki accepting the challenge.

As Daiki began to dribble the ball he faked to the left with the twin still following him until he faked to the right before twisting around passing him.

"Looks like you chose the wrong opponent,no.... You're not even worth being called an opponent.

.The only one who can beat me is ME." after he said that he looked back at me with a simple look, making me understand what he was trying to tell me, before scoring a point.

Through that point the game only got easy as our 'opponents' slowly lost their cool. When the third quarter ended we had subbed out both Daiki and Tetsuya no longer needing the two in order to win. As me and Daiki passed each other he suddenly put his hand on my shoulder making me look him in the eyes.

"Show them how 'WE' are totally out of their league, Gin after all the only one can beat 'US' is no one." he whispered before walking over to Ryouta clapping hands with him.(I know I changed his catchphrase, but whenever he does say it to anyone but Gin then I'll keep it how it's supposed to be.)

"Don't get your assed kicked off." said Daiki to Ryouta.
"I got it, GEEZ!" said a slightly offended Ryouta.

"THE FUCK!!" cursed the other team, knowing that we ruined their plan to get Daiki kicked off the court.

"Now, lets not let our guards down until the very end." said Seijuro.

"Phew... In eight minutes, minutes I'll be able to eat my snacks." said a slightly tired Atsushi.

"Didn't he just tell you not to let you guard down?!" scolded Shintarou.

"Sigh~ lets get this over with ready I want ramen~~" I complained.

After that we completely destroyed them, even the two twins tried to get some fowls on me,but I quickly shook them off quite easily. Before I knew it the match was over and we had won by 81-51.

"TEIKO TAKES THE WIN!! THIS WILL BE THEIR SECOND CHAMPIONSHIP IN A ROW-----!!!"

*Aomine Daiki's POV*

As the others celebrated our victory I just stayed where I was on the bench looking at the others.

"Why are you spacing out?" asked Nijimura-senpai who suddenly appeared behind me.

"Its thanks to you that we won, you can go ahead and show some happiness y'know..... Go on even if it's for now,it's alright to be honest with yourself."

As I joined them in cerebrating I couldn't keep the smile off my face as I looked at everyone seeing them with happy expressions even if they tried to hide them. After we got ready to leave as promised Gin took us to that ramen place he was talking about... It was pretty good.

'If one were to compare them to gears......up till now,while they were still interlocked,they still believed they could fix things even if one gear had cracked.

On the very same afternoon school reopened after their summer break,Nijimura and the other third years retired. No tears were shed. They bid the gymnasium farewell with no regrets.

If only they knew that soon after more and more gears would crack.
