Ash stood in front of (now fully clothed) Misty Waterflower with his arms crossed over his chest with the familiar deadpan expression on his face.

Misty's face meanwhile was a mixture of shock, guilt, embarrassment and incredulity. She opened her mouth to speak and uttered a single word, "...What...?"

"I came here to apologize" Ash said with his signature disinterested gaze and a straight face. Not a hint of emotion detectable on his stony visage.

Misty Waterflower blinked. Once. Twice. Thrice. 'Okay...' She decided as she came to her senses, '...He can be an asshole when he wants to be but...He's a pretty good guy...' Misty concluded...But the problem was...What does she have to say now? She had never had any proper acquaintance, let alone friend who tried to exclusively talk to her, not her sisters.

"...So...umm...Apology accepted..." She awkwardly said with an sheepish blush on her face with her hand scratching her neck.

Ash seemed to brighten up at that and told her, "Very well then. I shall take my leave. Have a good day Miss Waterflower"

'WHAT?! THAT'S IT?!!' She inwardly raged as she stared at the retreating figure of her mysterious savior that day, "HEY! Wait a second!!" She yelled as Ash was moving towards the exit of the roof.

Ash turned back with a raised eyebrow as if asking, 'What?'

She flushed in embarrassment once again. She had called him on instinct only. Losing the only person who exclusively wanted to speak to her on a matter was not something she wanted. But now that she did call him...What to say now?

"You wanted to say something Miss Waterflower?" Ash asked monotonously.

"N-No...Err...I mean Yes. N-No...ARRGH!! THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING!!" She yelled out suddenly in a fit of mad rage.

Ash Ketchum was not amused. He raised another disinterested eyebrow at her childish tantrum and inquired once again, "...You wanted to say something Miss Waterflower?"

She immediately jerked up and blushed in embarrassment. God, this was so awkward. She lowered her head in embarrassment. For the first time someone comes to exclusively talk to her and she doesn't have a single thing to talk about...Well except for her issues that is...

And so she turned to him with a sad gaze and talked, "*sigh* I don't know why even I'm telling you this..." She was interrupted by Ash though,

" – Well judging by exactly who you are and having no acquaintances to talk to right now, I am the only person who you can talk to at this moment..."

Her eye twitched in irritation, "Yes! Thank you Mr. Genius! NOW IF YOU'LL LET ME TALK THEN LISTEN DAMMIT!!" She yelled at him. Ash blinked. Well he was listening so talk already dammit!!

"...*sigh* So...I don't know you properly...Let's start with introductions...I am Misty Waterflower. I am from Cerulean City...Basically here...And...err...I want to be the best the pokemon teacher there ever is..." She said with a sigh.

Ash's eyes narrowed, '...This girl has got some serious problems...Aura signature around her show anxiety, nervousness, stress and deep rooted insecurities inside her...Family Issues? Most probable...'

Ash looked at her calculatively and spoke, "I am Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town. Pokemon trainer with 2 badges. Dream is to become the champion of Kanto and burn a certain group of thugs to ashes"

Then Ash raised an eyebrow as Misty did something unexpected...She giggled. Why was she giggling like a lunatic anyway?

"...Sorry, sorry...I think I heard that wrong...Care to repeat that again? I mean that last line..." She said with another small giggle in the end.

"...I said that my dream is to become the champion of Kanto and burn a certain group of thugs to ashes..." Ash told her again.

Misty blinked. This guy was certainly strange as hell. She wisely decided not to dwell on that...For the sake of her sanity atleast.

They stood like that in awkward silence for a bit. Misty contemplating whether to tell him about her issues or not...She decided to do it. Consequences be damned. This was the first time that a guy just decided to exclusively talk to her. This was the first guy that she met who didn't give a single fuck if you were the champion of the nation or the sister of 4 reputed gym leaders. He was just that...indifferent. So why the hell not?

"...Err...So listen...Well I am not gonna go into that 'Oh I am the neglected sister, Oh woe is me' and rant, bitch and moan about all my troubles..." For the first time during the time in which Misty considered Ash to be an unemotional stuck-up-prick, she saw him crack a smile...It was small. Just barely a twitch of lips upwards...But it was still a smile. She continued, "...But...Yeah. That's kinda the issue. I wanna be a teacher about Pokemon but my departed mother wanted to be a water type master. The people only see me as a shadow of my sisters and not me...Well that's it..." She shrugged in the end.

Ash kept an amused smile on his face as his eyes twinkled in something akin to interest. He smiled a little at her and said, "...I like you..." Misty immediately shot up with a prominent blush on her face. Seeing that he continued, "I don't mean it that way...But I like your personality..." Yes indeed he liked her personality. He was expecting her to bitch and moan about all her troubles to him while he would have dozed off half of the conversation but...She was a genuine tomboy who was almost...tolerable by his standards.

Ash continued to speak, "...Since you spared me the 'neglected sister' rant I shall do the same and extend you the courtesy of sparing the cheesy speech that 'you should follow your own path' or something like that..." Misty gave a thankful and sheepish grin in return at that, "...But well...In my own not so humble terms...I say that when you have successfully attained your dream, you go to your mother's grave, flip her the bird and tell her 'Screw you mum. I'm the best teacher now and you can't do a single thing about it...You know why? 'Cause you're six feet under the ground right now'...Well just my humble opinion, that's all..." Ash told her with a shrug in the end.

Misty snorted in a very unladylike fashion and burst out into laughter. She definetly respected her mother. Respected being the key term for being such a good water tamer but honestly she had never had that sort of bond with her that her sisters had. That kind of...err...Don't make her say that...That sort of...

...Bond of love or some cheesy shit like that...

She grinned at him and patted Ash on the shoulder, "...No matter how appealing that sounds I'll have to decline that advice..."

"I can certainly understand" Ash sarcastically told her.

She smacked his arm at that, "...Now, now let's not be a sarcastic jerk shall we?"

"Sorry honey but it seems that you're out of luck in that case..." Ash told unapologetically with a sardonic smile on his face.

Misty shook her head in exasperation. It seems as if their conversation was over now. Ash waved at her and said, "...It was nice talking to you...Farewell..." After that he left without another word.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ash stood at the large light blue colored gates of Cerulean City. He took a good last look at the place he spent the past 2 and half weeks of his life in. Just yesterday he had went to the address given to him by Professor Oak to get the documents printed.

Currently those documents were inside his bag. When Ash had inspected those documents he was actually very much stunned. Those docs contained information about Pokemon Biogenesis and Bioengineering with Pokemon DNA. One of the most interesting features of the document that he read was a newspaper report though...

The newspaper report was titled about 15 years ago. It was titled the 'Cinnabar Mansion Catastrophe'. Ash knew about that incident. Everyone in Kanto did. It was actually a lab where a bioengineering project had gone wrong and the lab had exploded taking down a huge chunk of the famed Cinnabar Mansion with it...

...Apparently it was only the half-truth. To his utmost rage that incident too involved Team Rocket. And so yesterday was the day that Ash vowed never to trust Lance or his Government. Ever.

The newspaper report was very vague about what happened. The lab was said to be creating 'The Perfect Pokemon'. Even Professor Oak didn't know the full details of the incident. But he did know that Team Rocket was involved in it. Ash had inspected that the documents contained some genetic blueprints that Oak was able to procure from somewhere. Those things were to be sent to the famed Pokemon researcher Bill Sonezaki. Ash had properly understood the exact value of these things after he saw a picture...

It was blurry, almost undecipherable but he understood. Thanks to his Aura Vision granting him better eyesight for a few moments he was able to decipher the picture...

...It was the very vague figure of a feline. About humanoid in shape and figure. He couldn't see the face of the humanoid figure in the picture because it was wearing some kind of biosuit. But the only thing that was clear in that picture made had made his heart stop beating for a few moments...

...It was a single purple colored eye. The feline shaped humanoid was gazing straight into the camera with one eye but the rest of its face was covered in that...mechanical suit of sorts.

It was creature that was the result of the perfect pokemon experiment.

That was the moment Ash knew the actual value of this mission given to him by the old professor. Ash's calculative and perceptive brain had also understood why Oak had given him the mission...

If Ash had been just another simple minded overly-emotional teenager then Ash would have definetly felt hurt by the conclusion that he had reached last night...

...Oak was using him to become a savior. A hero. Now Ash knew exactly how much the old professor loved him but sometimes...The old man's patriotic side won the war. The old retired ex-champion knew about his beef with Team Rocket and he also knew that Team Rocket would go after the person who was delivering the parcel to Bill. As an ex-champion he couldn't afford to lose to Ace Trainers or any other trainer and paint their backs with a bull's-eye (with Team Rocket being the arrow shooter in this case). So he used Ash. Ash was initially a bit hurt by Oak using him to take down Rockets but then he understood why Oak had done what he had done...

...Oak had known that Ash would reach to the conclusion that he was using Ash to counter Team Rocket. And he also knew that Ash would be the most...understanding to his current dilemma. No one appreciated others using them to get a job done but Ash was much mature than any other person Oak had ever known. So he chose Ash who could understand and relate to his current problem.

Ash also knew about how a kingdom was ruled. Now you must be wondering what that has got to do with anything. Simple. Oak was a former champion. He loved his nation. Team Rocket was a plague that was harming his nation. And as a former champion (king) who still loves his kingdom he has to get that rid of the plague. So where were we again? Ahh yes, golden rule number 1 of ruling a kingdom, "...A king MUST have 3 people under his rule to properly rule a kingdom. A trustable, astute and calculative advisor. An honest and never afraid to speak up, best friend...And lastly a ruthless executioner..."

Ash being the 'ruthless executioner' in this case.

A not-so-simple teenager with the ability to use Aura who could defend himself from even trained martial arts specialists and slay any rocket that got in his path with brutal efficiency, who also has enormous potential in him to become a strong Pokemon trainer. Yup! Perfect for this mission and to counter Team Rocket in the future too.

The old professor was one sly little bastard...Ash's gotta admit that.

Shaking his head out of his thoughts he took one last glance at the bustling 'Aqua Blue' Cerulean City and steeled his heart for the adventure that was to come.

'...Vermillion City...I'm coming...'
