Hiccup was finishing going over the plan. You mostly paid attention to your part and your brother's parts along with Jahlin's team. Your brothers were going to be going around the back of the island to keep any men positioned there off of you all while you went for Viggo with Hiccup. Jahlin and his team were going to keep guard at the docks and ports in case any ships that might have been out on the water returned to the base.

You were staying near Hiccup. You both were going to be the ones to confront Viggo in his tent. Hiccup wanted to as back up in case Viggo had any surprises. It was a solid plan. You were proud of him for finally coming up with something that was sensible.

Then, Tuff's voice brought you out of your thoughts. You had honestly only half been paying attention. Your mind had wandered a little during the explanation of the plan. Of course, Hiccup had already gone over the entire thing with you beforehand, but still. You didn't want it to look like you weren't paying attention.

"Really? 'I'll take that?' Seriously, that's the best you can come up with? This is your moment, H. Books will be written about it. Children will act it out. Some adults will act it out, but it won't be as cute as the children. You need a killer catchphrase. One line that will withstand the test of time. As the sands and the ocean pass, your words will remain. I mean, you've just defeated one of the toughest, most ruthless villain in the world."

"Who let's face it, everyone thought was smarter than you." Ruff added after Tuffnut's monologing.

"Really? Everyone?" Hiccup asked. You rolled your eyes with a grin. Seriously, you two?

"Well you know, there's no hard data, but if you had to guess..." Tuff began.

"Ok I'll tell you what, I'll work on something cool to say when I take him down. Happy?" Hiccup told them.

"Ah, ah, ah. Au contraire, mon frère. We will work on something better for you to say to him when we take him down. Trust us, we gotcha. It should be something with a growl, and, I mean, like..." He trailed off, trying to think of lines for Hiccup as Stoick walked over to his son.

"Now, that's what I call a plan." Hiccup smiled and the meeting was adjourned. You walked out and waited for him. Once he was outside, you yanked him toward you and you smiled at him as he saw it was you.

"I told you that you could do it. I'm glad that you finally got something for us to work with. I'm proud of you." He smiled back at you.

"A lot of those ideas were yours. I...I couldn't have done it without you." You blushed, giving him a playful grin.

"We make quite the team, huh?"

"I certainly think so." Then, you saw his face fall. You frowned. You cupped his cheek and made him look at you.

"Hey, what's going on? Why the sudden change?"

"Nothing's wrong. It's just... Well, yeah, Tuff's right, this is huge. Viggo, Berk, the Edge and my dad placing his trust in me. If the mission fails, we could lose the Dragon Eye forever. That could mean the end of the dragons. They could be hunted to extinction. And I-" You cut him off.

"Hiccup, don't think like that. The dragons aren't gonna be hunted to extinction. We're not gonna let it happen because we're not gonna let this mission fail." He didn't really listen to you.

"And then there's this project Shell Fire thing. I mean, what?" You grabbed his chin and made him look you in the eye.

"Hiccup, that's enough. Stop stressing yourself out. Everything is gonna be fine. You've worked on this for months. It'll be okay." He smiled at you.

"Y-yeah, I'm sorry, I just...I can't help thinking about-" You placed a finer on his lips, shushing him.

"You've already thought about everything you had to, now I'd prefer you focus on something else." He smiled softly at you. You both leaned in as your hearts thrummed against your chests. Your hands drifted down to his shoulders and your cheeks began to flush. His lips just brushed yours when a voice called out from above you both.

"Oh, my Thor!" You both quickly broke apart as you heard Fishlegs above you on Meatlug. "What are you two-?! ...Wait, I know. It's so obvious!"

"It is?" You both said together nervously.

"Of course! You're discussing where to hide the Dragon Eye when we get it back. Well, Meatlug and I are way ahead of you, aren't we girl? We've for hiding places inside of our hiding places. Well, I'm gonna give Meatlug some Andesite. Helps her sleep when she's this excited. Carry on, you two." He said before they flew off. You sighed in relief.

"And I thought you were the only one who made my heart race like that." You huffed, slightly annoyed and upset that Fishlegs had ruined the moment.

"Yeah, wait, why do we care if they know about us?" He asked. You blushed.

"I...I want to tell everyone, but just...not yet, you know? I...I like it being us. I can keep you to myself." You muttered the last part. "Plus my brothers would bombard me with questions and I would prefer not to die before the mission."

"Yeah, I get it. This...this isn't the time. We can't take a chance on anyone doing anything different. Including us." He agreed. "Plus...I like having you to myself too." You blushed brighter. He grinned and began to walk away, but you grabbed him and yanked him back into a kiss. He was stunned for a moment, but then he melted into it. You pulled back and smiled at him.

"I wasn't gonna let you walk away without getting what I wanted." His face turned bright pink and you giggled as you walked off. You hopped on Nightshade and hurried off to your house. Carl was making dinner and you were not going to miss out on it.

*Later, on the mission*

You and Hiccup were leading the way with everyone right behind you. You made sure that you were fully focused. Nothing was going to make this go wrong.

You mostly tuned out the twins' antics with Hiccup's 'amazing line' to say to Viggo. You kept a lookout, wanting to make sure that there were no surprises. Hiccup groaned to himself.

"Oh for the love of... Riders, ready! Just like we practiced!" He called. You were there. You all went into the base, but it was already trashed and ransacked. You were confused by this. What? This doesn't make any sense. What happened here?

"What's going on?" Heather asked.

"Ugh! What a rip off!" Snotlout complained.

"Oh, looks like someone beat us to it," Fishlegs added.

"The question is, who? I'll help the others search the island." Stoick said.

"Get my brothers, Cala, and Jahlin's team to do a scouting trip to see if there are any ships nearby that might be part of Viggo's fleet!"

"You got it, lass!" Gobber called back. You followed Hiccup into the tent. He shouted in frustration.

"Oh, Thor! What is it going to take to catch this guy!?" Suddenly, you heard something that sounded like a hollowed-out hole under some of the wood. You both looked at each other before moving to clear away the debris. There was a secret door underneath it all. You both pushed it open. Toothless and Nightshade instantly got ready to fire.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa! Hold your fire!" Hiccup ordered the dragons. You glared at the man huddled in the hole below you.

"I never imagined that these words would come out of this mouth, but, my dear Hiccup, I am overjoyed to see you," Viggo said, looking up at the four of you. You glared at him, reaching for your weapons.

"No, (Y/n). As much as we have reason to, we need answers first." You growled in anger at Hiccup's order, but you let go of your weapons and grabbed Viggo instead. You yanked him out of the hole and he yelped at your force. You shoved him onto a seat and crossed your arms as you stood in front of him with Hiccup beside you. Hiccup looked angry as well, but he was a bit more composed than you were at the moment.

The others were called into the tent not long after. Your team and the rest of the riders were coming back as well. Hiccup decided now was a good time to get some answers.

"What happened here? Viggo, where is the Dragon Eye?" He demanded. Then, suddenly, Stoick stormed into the tent. You saw him storm up to Viggo and grab him angrily.

"You come after my son. You come after my home. Now you get to deal with me!" He started to choke him, but Hiccup stopped him.

"Dad wait! Revenge is not a plan. Remember?"

"That was for you. For me, it goes down a treat."

"Let Viggo speak." Stoick glared at the man before him for a moment before dropping him back in his seat. He took a few gasps of air before explaining.

"Ryker's lost all sense of reason. He's on his own and unfortunately managed to sway the soft minds of the Dragon Hunters. My brother has turned them against their leader."

"And that, right there, is why I'd rather have a sister any day of the week," Tuff said.

"Uh-huh."

"Not you, obviously, but, a different sis." You ignored the two.

"Ryker's plan, as simple-minded as it is, is to wipe out the Dragon Riders and all of your allies." Viggo continued.

"Yeah, h-how is that different from every other bad guy we've ever dealt with?" Hiccup asked.

"And defeated! Yeah." Fishlegs said semi-victoriously.

"The difference, my dear Hiccup, is project Shell Fire. You two remember that, don't you?" He said, looking at the twins. This triggered them to go into their stupid 'best line' mode.

"Just remember, if Viggo, you go!" Ruff began.

"That's right. Today's your day to burn, and we're the torches with the fire that burns!"

"I'm sorry. Did I miss something?" Hiccup dealt with them.

"Guys, guys maybe not now." You turned to Viggo.

"Never thought I'd say this to you, but I apologize that this is a daily thing with them." He seemed to understand a bit more and he just nodded.

"Tell me what project Shell Fire is. We know it's some sort of weapon. Is it a boat? A Dragon?" Hiccup asked.

"In due time, I will divulge all. Project Shell Fire, the location of the Dragon Eye. But only if you help me stop my brother and send me on my way."

"Yak dung!" Snotlout shouted suddenly. "Oh, I'm sorry. I had something in my lying throat!"

"Snotlout is right, Hiccup. We shouldn't trust Viggo as far as we can throw him." Fishlegs agreed.

"Agreed. Trusting me is...shall we say, a stretch? Therefore, as a show of good faith, I will tell you where and when my brother will strike next. Give you time to save some of your allies, which he systematically intends to destroy. The next attack is on the Defenders of the Wing. This will be followed by the Outcasts, Berserkers, and Berk itself, in no particular order. While Ryker is no tactical genius, he still manages to hold some things close to the vest." Hiccup gestured for you all to meet outside. "Time is of the essence, Hiccup. It is the ability to make expeditious decisions that saves lives."

"There is no way we're believing one word this guy says," Arrow growled.

"We can't just ignore it. Arrow, there are too many lives at stake." Hiccup told him.

"Agreed. Gobber and I will take the auxiliary riders back to Berk. Just in case." Stoick added.

"Heather, Dagur, make sure Berserker Island's ready. We're going to check on the Defenders of the Wing." Hiccup finalized.

"And what about Viggo?" Arrow asked.

"I guess he's comin' with us. There's no other way, Arrow." You hurried over to your family.

"Cala, I need you and the boys to make sure Berk stays safe with the auxiliary riders." She nodded.

"We'll do everything we can. Come on, boys! You heard her!" They hurried off. Jahlin came over to you.

"What do you want my team to do?"

"I need you all to go warn the Outcasts and stay with them to make sure they're safe." Jahlin nodded.

"Alright, we'll be on our way then." You nodded and began to head over to your own team again. "And (Y/n)," You turned. "Goodluck and stay safe. All of you." You nodded.

"Thanks, Jahlin." They headed off and you went over to Hiccup. You pulled him aside for a moment.

"Hiccup, I know this isn't the right time, but I just wanted to-" He cut you off with a swift kiss. Luckily, nobody was paying any attention. They were all in the tent focused on getting Viggo.

"Yeah, I know. I was feeling the same way. But we can't let this change anything, remember?" You frowned, but you nodded. He gave you a hug. "You know I'll always be there to protect you though." You smiled a little and pushed him off.

"Oh really? I think you mean that I'll always be there to make sure you don't get in over your head, as usual." He shook his head with a sigh and turned to Toothless.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever."

*The next morning*

Throk took Viggo away as you and Hiccup talked with Mala. She wasn't happy about seeing Viggo, let alone having him on the island, but there wasn't much anyone could do.

"Hiccup Haddock, I am going to assume that there's a sane reason that you'd even think of bringing this man into our home."

"Mala, I don't trust him either. But if what he says is true, you could be in grave danger."

"It isn't only the Defenders of the Wing I am concerned with. There is something else we must protect at all costs."

You all hurried off as Mala showed you the baby. You smiled. He was so cute. You were glad that he was finally here. Fishlegs hurried over excitedly.

"Oh! It hatched? It hatched!" The baby looked at you all, wagging his tail excitedly.

"A few weeks past. He must be protected and must keep his hunger satiated. He's too young and too frail to survive anything else." Suddenly, a blue fireball hit the island. You all looked around in shock.

"Oh, you mean something like that!?" Snotlout shouted. People were running and screaming.

"The wrath of the Gods is upon us!" Throk called.

"Hiccup! We need to get the baby Eruptodon out of here." Fishlegs said, shielding the little dragon.

"Yes, please!" Mala insisted.

"Fishlegs, go." He took the baby and turned to the mother.

"We'll protect him as if he were one of your own, we promise." He said before they flew off.

"Believe me now, Hiccup?" Viggo asked as a fireball hit his cell. Luckily the metal protected him.

"Not even remotely." He replied. "Mala, Throk, you and your men keep Viggo locked down. We're going to fly into the attack and find the source." Hiccup said as you all got on your dragons and flew straight into the fire.

"I mean, not that we're ones, to complain about a totally awesome situation, but, hey, Hiccup why are we doing this?" Tuff called, dodging the fireballs with his sister.

"We have to find the source. The only way is to fly towards it." Suddenly, one of the blasts just narrowly misses him. "Ah!" You felt your heart jump in your chest.

"Hiccup! That was way too close! You should help guard Viggo and leave this to us." He frowned, coming over to you.

"(Y/n), we talked about this. It's gonna be business as usual. We can't risk anyone thinking-"

"Thinking what?" Snotlout asked.

"Nothing!" You both said quickly.

"Whoa! Take it easy, (ship name)."

"Stay focused and keep moving forward! No matter what!" You all kept flying until you saw ships up ahead. "There. Down there!" You all attacked the ships, but the fire came from around the sea stack.

"Behind the sea stack!" Arrow called out.

"Cover us!" Hiccup called as you both went around, but you found nothing but empty waters. When you all landed again, you found out that Viggo was gone.

"He escaped?" Hiccup asked.

"The explosions allowed him to slip away. I have failed you." Throk said sadly.

"You sure did, Throkman. Hey, I would be looking for a new gig, if I were you. Or a new head!" Snotlout said smugly. You shot a glare at him. First warning, Snotlout.

"I can't believe I fell for it. What was I thinking?" Hiccup said, frustrated with himself.

"Now, there's a good question. I personally wouldn't have done-"

"Snotlout!" You snapped.

"No, no, no. It's all right. Umm, we can't focus on Viggo right now anyway. We need to get back to the Edge. We don't know where the next attack will happen. Of course, you and your tribe are welcomed to come with us." Hiccup said to Mala.

"No. We must defend our home. But I do have a favor to ask. I fear the baby Erupotodon will not be safe here."

"Don't worry, Mala. Meatlug and I were made for this. We're gonna keep this little guy safe, no matter what!" Fishlegs promised.

"Send a Terror Mail if you need us." She nodded and you all took off afterward. You both were in Hiccup's hut with a map on the table. Hiccup looked at it thoroughly.

"The problem is, we've been thinking like Viggo. We have to start thinking like Ryker."

"Yeah, 'cause that's any easier." You sighed. You looked at him again. "Hiccup...I'm sorry for...earlier. I just-"

"Hey, I know. Me too. It won't happen again. Look, we have to put our personal feelings aside and accept the risks. We can only protect each other to a point. Like we've been doing for years." You frowned at that statement.

"I feel like I should agree with you, but...I hope you know that I'd never let anything hurt you." He blushed a little, smiling at you.

"I could say the same to you." He took your hands in his. "It is nice to know you care, though." You looked into his eyes, smiling.

"It took you this long to figure that out? Clearly I haven't been doing my best then." He hummed, interested.

"Oh? Your best for what?" He asked. You leaned in closer, your lips just centimeters away from his.

"Showing you how much I really care~" You leaned in to kiss him, but the door burst open. Yo both pulled away with a gasp and in a panic. It was Tuff and Ruff.

"Looks like she's got the mace, and I've got the talons. So Viggo, it's game over. And we haven't even-" You both grew angry as you realized why they were there.

"Tuffnut!" You both shouted.

"Yeah, you're right. I would have the mace, you know, not her. Everyone knows I'm a mace man. Guilty as charged, mace man at heart. Good lookin' out, H." They rushed off. You groaned.

"Okay, uh, that's awful. Alright, let's assume that Viggo is telling the truth. If you're Ryker, which ally do you hit next?" You both ended up at Outcast Island.

"Outcast Island." You even said it together. You both looked at each other, blushing again out of embarrassment. Hiccup pulled back and cleared his throat.

"W-we'll we should get going now. We don't know when they could arrive." You saw him turn away to get ready. You grabbed his arm and yanked him to the side, pushing him up against the wall. He was stunned by this.

"You need to learn that I don't like it when our moments get interrupted." You told him before kissing him full force. He let out a muffled noise of surprise before he began to kiss back. His arms snaked around your waist and he brought your body closer to his. Your arms wrapped around his neck as your fingers gently toyed with the ends of his hair. This only made him deepen the kiss and your cheeks flared bright red.

Once you two finally pulled away, gasping for air, you saw that his face was also bright red and he actually looked like he enjoyed that a little too much. You couldn't blame him though. You weren't much better, already missing his lips against yours. You tucked your head under his chin, your arms falling down to wrap around his waist
