"(Y/n)?" He questioned softly. You sighed lovingly.

"So this is what it feels like to be in love. I never thought I'd get to feel this. I never thought it'd feel this good..." You admitted, saying the words almost without thinking. You were a little embarrassed about saying them out loud after he didn't respond, but you suddenly felt him nuzzle his face into your hair.

"Guess I can't agree with you on that one." You frowned.

"Huh?" You asked, a little hurt by what you thought he meant by that. He smiled, cupping your cheek.

"I always knew being with you would be a dream come true." You blushed, but you glared at him, grinning to yourself.

"Oh, you jerk. That wasn't nice, toying with me like that." He chuckled, resting his forehead against yours.

"Well, the way I see it, it's only fair."

"How is that fair?"

"It's fair because..." He leaned in again. "you drive me crazy." He kissed you again, softer this time. He pulled away slowly, letting go of you as well. "We need to go." He breathed out, almost as if he was sad that he had to say those words instead of continuing to kiss you and hold you as if his life depended on it. You felt the same way, honestly. Your arms fell away as you let him go, still looking into his eyes.

"...I know..."

*Later that night*

You were all stationed at the Straights of Baldur. You were keeping watch for any Hunters that might've been coming through.

"Not that I don't love hanging out with you guys, but how does hovering above an empty ocean do us any good?" Snotlout asked.

"They can't reach the Archipelago without passing through the Straits of Baldur," Arrow replied.

"And when they do, they'll come through us," Hiccup added.

"And we'll be ready for them." You growled, itching to put an end to this. Tuffnut's antics were somewhat helpful in this case since they helped take you out of your 'fight first, ask questions later' mood.

"Hey, Hoff. Hey, question for you. Which of these two do you like the best?"

"My name is Hiccup Haddock. Submit or be filleted where you stand and fed to my favorite pet Yak. Or..." Ruff began.

"Oh, you want a battle, Viggo? Well, how about I give you a war instead? It's bigger and there's more fighting!" Tuff finished.

"Hiccup doesn't even have a favorite Yak," Arrow replied.

"What About Yakkity?" Ruff asked.

"That's my Yak, pal. Yakkity Jorgenson." Snotlout said.

"A-And, by the way, we do not want a war, guys." Hiccup said. He looked through his spyglass again. "Hunter ship, due south!"

"Is that a white flag?" Snotlout asked.

"Uh, yeah. It is. But that's not the weirdest part." He said.

"What's the weirdest part?" You asked.

"Ryker is the one waving it!" You all looked at each other, confused before rushing over and landing aboard his ship.

"What do you want, Ryker?" Hiccup said, Toothless having a shot ready just in case.

"To talk! All I want is to talk!" He said. "It's about my brother." You looked at Hiccup before you all decided to hear him out. After his story was finished, all of you picked up on how familiar it sounded.

"Funny. That's the exact same story Viggo told us, but he said you're the one who flipped." Hiccup told him.

"Oh, yeah? Then where is he? Hmm?" You all went quiet, knowing he was gone. "Let me ask you this. Between Viggo and myself, who has more of an interest in you, Hiccup?" He's got a point... "Exactly. It's Viggo who's lost his mind. It's Viggo who came up with and built the Shell Fire. It's Viggo who wants a war. But it's Ryker who has the Dragon Eye."

"Great. Where is it?" Hiccup said.

"Oh, don't worry. It's safely hidden. Think about it. If Viggo had the Shell Fire, and the Dragon Eye, what would he do? He'd set you up. Which is exactly what my beloved brother is doing."

"Oh, that's great. Another lunatic Dragon Hunter, that we can't trust." Snotlout complained, annoyed. Suddenly, you all heard blasts. You looked over and saw blue fireballs sailing through the air and hitting something.

"The Shell Fire!" Hiccup exclaimed.

"But where is it attacking!?" Arro exclaimed. Hiccup pointed to an island on his map and you and Arrow gasped.

"Oh no!" You exclaimed.

"We have to help them, Hiccup!" Arrow shouted, running over to Stormfly.

"Help who?" Snotlout asked.

"Heather and Dagur!" Arrow yelled.

"Berserker Island! Now!" Hiccup ordered. You all hurry to help your friends.

"You see, Hiccup? That attack proves what I've been saying! Bring me Viggo and I will give you what you want. Otherwise, I'll disappear for good, along with the Dragon Eye." Ryker said before you all hurried away.

Heather and Dagur hurried over to you both on their dragons. You saw the island behind them still getting attacked. Your heart was pounding. We have to stop this!

"Brother!" Dagur called.

"Hiccup! It came at us out of nowhere!" Heather said.

"Hiccup, staying together won't help. We need to split up." You called.

"You're right. You're with me. You guys, go with Heather and Dagur. Save who you can, then meet us back at the Edge."

"And where are you two going?" Snotlout asked.

"To find out whatever this Shell Fire is, and stop it, once and for all!" Hiccup called as you both rushed off together. You just had to reach it in time. "Faster, bud! We need to close the distance before it can disappear!" You suddenly saw where the attacks were coming from.

"Hiccup! Down there!"

"I see it! Looks like a ship!" Suddenly, a dragon came out of the water, firing at both of you. You were stunned. "What is that?" You both flew up to avoid getting hit. "The Shell Fire isn't a ship or a dragon. It's both! He's weaponized a dragon, (Y/n)!"

"And, that's why it's so hard to find and defend against." You said, your fear growing by the second. It dove into the water, swimming away.

"I'm going after it."

"Hiccup!!" You called as he went after it. He resurfaced moments later. "Too fast and too deep." He panted.

"It can't stay down for long with Hunters in that ship thing." You said.

"But we don't know which direction it's headed or where it's gonna come up. We've got to get back to the Edge to regroup." You nodded as you both hurried off. The silence was tense and desolate. Both of you were afraid and neither of you knew what to do. How can we stop this thing?

*Back at the Edge*

"Tidal Class for sure. If I had to guess, Titan Wing. Bigger than a Submaripper. Long range firing capabilities."

"Tidal Class Dragons don't attack humans, Hiccup. They just don't. It's not in their nature. They're forcing it to do that." Fishlegs said sadly.

"I know they are, Fishlegs."

"Subjugation," Tuff said, stunning everybody. "What? I listen and learn, people. That's the word, right? No?" Hiccup turned back to Dagur and Heather.

"Dagur, Heather, I'm sorry about Berserker Island. We all are."

"At least we managed to save most of our people. But to rebuild..." Heather began.

"I've been trying really hard to manage my anger, Hiccup. But Viggo? He gots to go." Dagur added.

"Hey, that's my line." Snotlout said.

"Sorry, Snot-hat." You would've laughed if the situation wasn't so serious.

"What are you looking at? No laughing." He growled.

"So, what's our next move?" Arrow asked.

"I don't know. The only thing I do know is we've got to find Viggo soon or Ryker and the Dragon Eye could be gone for good." Hiccup said, clearly frustrated.

"Good luck with that. What do you think Viggo's going to do? Walk in here and turn himself in?" Snotlout said.

"Not helping, Snotlout," Fishlegs grumbled.

"Maybe Ryker will give us more time?" You suggested.

"I highly doubt that. I need to clear my head." You nodded.

"I'll keep everything straight while you're out. Just be back soon. We'll be alright, but I want you to be safe too." He nodded.

"I will. I'll be back soon, I promise." He left and you sighed heavily once he was gone. You waited for a while and he still wasn't back. You decided to go find him. You snuck away while the others were busy.

"Nightshade, track him." She nodded and sniffed around. Soon, she picked up Hiccup and Toothless' scent and took off, following it. You glided through the air until she landed in the woods. She kept walking, but suddenly, she paused. "What is it, girl?" Nightshade suddenly growled and hurried forward. She leaped out of the brush, roaring threateningly. You were shocked as you saw Viggo there with Hiccup and Toothless.

"Viggo." You growled, reaching for your weapons.

"(Y/n), wait!" Hiccup called. You stopped and you saw that Hiccup had the Dragon Eye. You were stunned by this.

"What? How did-?"

"I handed it over freely, to prove that what I'm telling you is the truth." You were skeptical of this, but Hiccup said that it would be best just to get back to the clubhouse. You sighed, not thrilled with the idea of Viggo coming with, but knowing you had no other choice.

You both brought him back and explained to the others before anyone had the chance to kill the guy. They still weren't thrilled with the outcome. You couldn't really blame them for feeling that way. We SHOULDN'T trust him, after all.

"I don't trust the guy," Arrow said. My thoughts exactly.

"You know he'd actually be pretty fun to hang with, I mean if he weren't trying to kill us all the time," Tuff said.

"You gotta love the way he talks!" Ruff said before beginning to imitate him. "Hiccup, I'm afraid our time together has come to an end. I must now kill you if you have no objections."

"Like he's not gonna have objections. And then he'll go: All of your Dragon Riders must also go. With my sincerest apologies." You ignored the two.

"I'm with Arrow. This is all just one big game to him, Hiccup," Fishlegs stated.

"Ryker is coming to try to wipe us all out along with his brother. Are we really gonna take any chances with Viggo here?" Arrow asked.

"I don't like it either. Not after everything he's done." You agreed.

"You guys are right, I've got this." Hiccup replied. You went with Hiccup and pushed Viggo into a cage to keep him held up.

"Hiccup, you must reconsider." Viggo pleaded as you shut the door, locking him in.

"I'm sorry Viggo, there's just too much bad blood for us to trust that you'll do anything but try to, well you know."

"And the Dragon Eye's return, it did nothing to assuage your concerns?" He asked. You scoffed.

"Not nearly enough."

"Ryker will attack this island with my Shellfire dragon I'm afraid he won't stop until all of you are, well, you know."

"That's encouraging, as always, Viggo." Hiccup told him.

"You see, that's just it! I could be of considerable assistance in helping you defend your home if you would allow me." He tried to persuade you both.

"We'll take that under advisement." You replied. The twins suddenly came rushing in.

"They're here, well I mean not here exactly but very soon, soon they will be here. I'm thinking we might need to start getting ready." Tuff said, oddly calm.

"Translation, Ruff?" Hiccup asked.

"Dragon Hunters. Multiple ships headed this way." She began.

"We didn't wanna bum you out you know what with all the...deadly disease and everything." You and Hiccup looked at each other, confused. "But we figured is it really our place to deny you the right, to die during battle instead."

"Once again, I have no idea what you two are talking about. Seriously, are we missing something?" You asked.

"They're both in denial," Ruff said, confusing you further.

"Classic stage one." Tuff agreed.

"Sad seeing them so vulnerable." You groaned and Hiccup sighed.

"Just make sure he doesn't try to escape." He told them.

"We got this my pale, weak, ailing friend," Tuff said. You gave him a weird look.

"What?" He asked. You sighed.

"Forget it, we need to move." You told him. He nodded.

"Right." You both hurried off together. You both surveyed how far they were before rushing back to get the others ready.

"Alright gang, we have until dawn, they'll be in range by then."

"Hiccup I have a thought, and I'll follow me on this, okay come along for the ride, I don't know about you guys, but I'm not completely attached to this place alright, let it burn to the ground. I mean its been fun, great views, but it worth dying over, that's what you have to ask yourself. Alright, let's take a vote." Nobody said anything as Snotlout spoke. "Anyone?"

"Snotlout, if we don't stop them here, where do you think they're going to go next?" Hiccup asked.

"Uhhh..."

"Berk!" Hiccup shouted. "They're going to go to Berk, our Berk. We have to make our stand here, and do whatever it takes to stop them."

"Well, that's one way, most pleasant." Snotlout said.

"Dagur, can you and Shattermaster cover the backside of the edge? With the time you've spent sneaking around, you'll have an advantage." Hiccup told him.

"On my way, and uh, I take that as a compliment, by the way. You know, the sneaking around part."

"Of course you do." Hiccup said with a smile. "Snotlout, you and Hookfang get the Gronckle Iron walls on the huts. Fishlegs, take the Eruptodon hatchling to the center of the island and find a safe place to hide."

"Wait, he gets to hide!? Well, we can all hide just well."

"Hey! There's no crying in Maces and Talons. What do you think? Our catchphrase, we already got the Viggo stamp of approval." Tuff said. You ignored him.

"That's awesome." Hiccup brushed off. "Ruff, Tuff, and Heather, you take on the first wave of ships."

"Don't worry your pretty little head, we're on it." Ruff said.

"I'm not worried." You told her.

"Talking to Hiccup. You'll have it before you can say Ultimate Destruction, my friend!" She replied. You and Hiccup both stayed behind.

"Uh, are you guys coming?" Tuff asked. Heather pushed them out.

"Um, I think they need to discuss some finale strategy, alone." You didn't hear the rest of what they said. You looked at Hiccup, smiling and blushing. Your hands brush each others as you both know how you're each feeling deep down.

"We'd better get moving." You said. He nodded, still smiling at you.

"Yeah, let's go." You both hurried off together. You all began to get ready and soon, you saw the first shots start to come.

"Incoming!" Snotlout shouted.

"Everyone to their huts. We have to wait out the initial attack!" You were about to rush to your hut, but a blast stopped you. You screamed as you fell through the air. Luckily, Nightshade caught you. She went the other way, taking you to Hiccup's hut. "(Y/n)!? What happened?!"

"I almost got hit by a blast. Nightshade saved me, but the route to my hut was a little blocked off. You were closer." Another blast shook the place. You shrieked and latched onto Hiccup. He was a little stunned, but he held you close as you all huddled together.

"It's okay, (Y/n). We're gonna be alright. I promise." You held onto him even tighter.

"Hiccup...I-I'm scared." He held you as close as he could, burying his face into your soft hair.

"I'm here. It's alright. We'll get through this." He gave the top of your head a kiss as you both waited it out.

*Later, at the clubhouse*

"Okay, I'm not sure about you, but there's no way I'm sitting through that again. We have dragons, we should be out there sinking their ships!" Snotlout shouted.

"The fire isn't coming from the ships, it's coming from the Shellfire." Hiccup replied.

"I hate to be the one to say I told you so but-" You were stunned as Viggo suddenly walked in.

"How did you get out!?" Hiccup exclaimed.

"My friend Snotlout was good enough to allow me to use the facilities."

"Oh he did, did he?" Hiccup growled. You glared at him.

"What?! He scares me! And besides, when you got to go, you got to go, and who knows that better than me?" Snotlout defended.

"Hiccup, you must allow me to assist you for the sake of us all. The Shellfire range is over a mile, Ryker is using ships, my ships to be exact, to protect it!" Viggo insisted.

"Then we need to get passed the ships," Arrow said.

"Agreed." You added.

"We better do it quickly. Ruff, Tuff, your up." Hiccup said.

"We're on it!" Ruff said as you all began to hurry off.

"Hey! What about me?" Snotlout called.

"Just look after your new best friend there." Hiccup said, gesturing to Viggo.

"Where's the fun it that!?"

"It's not supposed to be fun. And I don't care how scary he is, do not let him out of your sight again!" Hiccup said as he hurried after the rest of you. You all took to the air, heading toward the Shellfire.

"We need to slow them down a little and move on. If they fire on us, we fire back." Suddenly, a fireball came hurling at all of you. "Look out!"

"Hiccup!" You called worriedly.

"Shellfire. I know. Let's go!" You all saw that they were using mallets to get the Shellfire to attack. "Uh, are you guys seeing this?"

"Unfortunately," Arrow said.

"Of course it wouldn't fire at us on its own." Hiccup said.

"And we can't take them out without endangering the dragon," Heather added.

"I'm sure that was their plan," Arrow grumbled. You all circled back around. You all had to pull up to get out of range.

"Let's regroup. There's no way to control it without hurting it." Hiccup told you all.

"We might not have a choice," Arrow replied.

"We can't just attack the dragon!" You said.

"(Y/n)'s right. There's gotta be another way." Suddenly, Snotlout came over to you all. "Whoa! Aren't you supposed to be watching Viggo? Is that the stables on fire!?" He exclaimed.

"You said don't let him out no matter what." Snotlout replied.

"Snotlout, use your brain!" Hiccup shouted.

"Good Thor, you're so mercurial. Viggo taught me that. I don't know what it means. It's the gambling losses. This isn't really him." You ignored him.

"Hiccup, you've got to go get him out of there! We'll be alright! Hurry!" He nodded, rushing away. Soon, you all regrouped in the clubhouse again.

"Okay, I'm confused. You said keep him in his cell! You can't toy with my emotions like this, Hiccup! I'm too fragile right now." Snotlout said.

"He's right, I mean, sort of. Are we really trusting Viggo to be on the loose, especially now?" Arrow added.

"I don't like it either. Everything seems to just get worse with him out!" You snapped.

"Well, if Viggo can help figure out how to stop this attack-" He began.

"What if he can't? What if he won't? What if it's part of the plan? We just walked into it." Arrow growled. You gave Viggo a cold glare. You hurt Hiccup and I swear to all things great and small you'll regret it. He saw your gare and he took a step back, looking a little nervous. You felt a hint of satisfaction at his reaction. That's right. You think carefully about what you're next move is here, Viggo.

"Then, we just walked into it. But, I'm making the call. Viggo and I are gonna take this thing down." Hiccup said. They both got on Toothless and hurried off. You ran over to where they'd taken off from, staring after them worriedly. Please be careful, Hiccup.
