I finally spot them running over Jessie practically tackled me in a hug "(Y/N) WHERE WERE YOU" she yelled at me, I just laughed a little.
"I was just uh making some new friends" I laughed a bit, I mean I'm not lying.
~~BACK~~
"here let me start over" he put his hand out and I looked at it for a minute before taking it "my name is Sirius, Sirius Black" I looked him in the eyes.
"Uh I'm (y/n)" I said smiling.
"no last name?" he asked looking curious.
"it's complicated" I chuckled scratching the back of my head, he just shrugged.
"I like your laugh" he complimented, making me blush lightly my smile turning to an uncertain frown "S-sorry I didn't mean to just blurt that out" he took a step back hiding his face with one hand, i smiled reassuringly.
"no need to apologist, I understand" he just stared at me slightly shocked for a second before regaining his composure.
"Oh ya I almost forgot to ask...Are you a first year going to Hogwarts as well?" he seemed nervous.
"yes, I am! and I'm guessing you are too?" he smiled.
"yep," he spoke popping the p. A slightly awkward silence grew as I shifted from one foot to another my blush growing slightly so I decided to just break it already.
"So I need to" I veered off pointing to a shop.
"Ya same I'm just gonna" he veered off as well as we both kinda shuffled out of the alley and took a few steps away but neither of us really said goodbye.
"So yea I'll just" I took another step.
"Ya ok see you at school" I nodded.
"Ya...see ya" I turned quickly walking into the shop I pointed a bit ago and hid slightly behind the door as I watched him walk away as well, I sighed letting out a small groan of embarrassment, I looked around to see I was in a robe shop...how convenient. I hesitantly walked up to the front.
"Robe fitting?" the woman who was sitting behind the counter asked and I only nodded before she stood "follow me" she walked into another room that was filled with mannequins, and mirrors that had stools in front of them, it was a very colorful room with lots of yellows, pinks, and reds. Standing on one of the stools was a boy who looked around my age, he had messy black hair and was quite tall compared to me...then again as long as you're considered average you're probably taller so that's not very surprising. the woman had me stand on the stool directly next to said boy before leaving the room once more I just looked at him as he looked at me before smiling and sticking his hand out making me jump slightly.
"Hi, the names James, James Potter" I smiled to giving him my hand.
"I'm (y/n)" he looked at me as if I had something to add.
"no last name?" I deadpanned.
"complicated" he nodded.
"so are you going to Hogwarts?" I nodded.
"yep I'll be in my first year" he smirked.
"same here!" he sighed in relief.
"at least I'll know one person there" I smiled as well.
"lucky me. I'll know two." I smirked crossing my arms and puffing my chest in pride at my social skills.
"how did you find someone else who was in the first year?" he asked shocked.
"I ran form them," I said simply and his shock turned to confusion.
"it's a LONG story" he nodded accepting the answer. The woman finally walked back into the room and a measuring tape as well as a quill and paper flew out from behind her. the measuring tape found its way to me and the woman adjusted my arms and body as the quill wrote on the paper I kinda just stood awkwardly as she mumbled to herself once she was done she turned to James and did the same thing he similar to me just stood and let the woman control him until she finished with him as well she walked out of the room...again and I turned back to James "that was kinda awkward" I fiddled my hands and he nodded his head about to say something else as just the woman stepped in once more and papers flew to both of us.
"Fill these out pay and the robes will be sent to you in the next 5 business days"
I grabbed the form and a quill appeared James grabbed his aswell and I stepped down off the stool now using it as a writing surface it was basic name, address, quantity, and all that other stuff that they really don't need too know but you fill out anyway I grabbed my pouch and added up the amount handing her the money I turned to James who was doing the same thing after he finished he walked over.
"All I have to do is to get my wand" he spoke as he studied a list in his hand I pulled out my own and showed it to him.
"Oh you should go grab your potion supplies first the shop is across the street and two buildings down you can't miss it it's the only dark and evil one you'll find here" he joked making me laugh a little.
"Alright then I'll see you around" he smiled.
"Alright bye" I walked out the shop waving at him and he waved back I walked to the other side of the mass amounts of death by people and walked down the side where it was surprisingly very clear of feet. After a few seconds, I ended up in front of an older looking shop that was freshly painted a dark blackish blue color I hesitantly opened the door and walked in looking around the shelves were lined with books and ingredients for making potions. I walked in a few more steps only just noticing exactly how empty the shop as I looked around a bit more building up courage before walking further into the shop and down a few aisles and honestly I was getting a little frustrated at how I wasn't able to find anything that I needed.
"Do you need help?" I was startled by a voice that came from behind me I turned quickly to see a boy he had long blond hair and extremely pale skin (almost as pale as me) with odd grey eyes not that I had much room to talk but he seemed nice enough he had a gentle smile and stood with posture that showed he was definitely from a powerful family.
"U-uh yes actually I need to find a pewter sized cauldron and crystal vials" I sorta squeaked out he only smiled and grabbed my hand leading me as I walked awkwardly behind him he looked back.
"Oh by the way my name is Lucius, Lucius Malfoy" I nodded in greeting.
"(y/n)" he wanted.
"Do you have a last name?" I avoided eye contact at how these words were slightly harsher than before.
"Uh ya I just don't like the attention that comes with it...it's complicated" he nodded.
"So you're a pureblood then?" I nodded once more and he suddenly went back to normal making me scowl a bit he suddenly stopped making me bump into his back "here they are" he looked down at me as I studied the cauldrons that were conveniently placed next to the vials.
"Wow you really know this place don't you" I wondered out loud.
"Uh well I guess, my dad knows the owner so I have a lot of time to look around" he mumbled out and I tensed.
"I didn't mean to be rude it just kinda surprised me how you knew where it was and all...sorry" he laughed at me.
"No it's fine now let's get you your stuff" I nodded.
"You're going to Hogwarts right?" I asked as I grabbed my cauldron.
"Ya I will be in my first year" I smiled.
"Me too"
"What house do you want to be in?" he asked confusing me.
"What do you mean house?'' he looked at me as if I was crazy.
"You mean you don't know anything about Hogwarts.
"I was raised in a muggle town so no I guess I don't" he frowned.
"What pureblood family would live in a town of muggles" he scowled with clear disgust in his voice making me frown I grabbed the vials from him this was the last straw.
"One that actually had some respect for someone other than himself, thank you for your help goodbye" I turned and walked out of the aisle and up to the counter where two men stood talking one of the men looked like an older version of the boy I just walked away from and the other looked just plain sketchy I walked over anyway and cleared my throat both the men looked at me and I held up my stuff a glare still on my face the owner looked at what I had.
"14 gallions" I handed him the money and placed the items in the bag McGonagall gave me and began to walk away.
"So the prophecy says that a (y/l/n) would pop up this year?" I automatically froze.
"Yes, the only problem is It says they'll still be a child so they won't be too useful to the dark lord for a while" I looked back and the owner noticed.
"Scram" he growled and I only glared harder shocking him a bit "unless you know something you're not saying" the other man spoke, I glared at him too before sticking my tongue out and running out the shop and down the road.
