In the week that had passed, now going into a second, changes began to become noticeable.
Grimmjow stayed in a hotel, away from the Urahara Shop and away from you. His day had consisted of going to work, getting food, and an occasional moping espada... which didn't happen often.
Hana never called him back after their fight, but Mai, his current mate, would call multiple times in a day. She left threatening text messages and horrible voicemails, demanding to know where he was and why their last encounter had ended so abruptly. Perhaps she wasn't as mature as Grimmjow bad though, leaving death threats is just plain rude.
"Grr!" Grimmjow growled into his pillow once more, his cellphone going off again. Grabbing his cellphone, Grimmjow looked at the caller id... Mai.
"Tch." Grimmjow replied to his phone, before tossing it behind him and onto the floor. He was getting frustrated with her.
Moments later, Grimmjow lay in bed, finally asleep, and his cellphone laying on the floor broken and in pieces. He did want a new phone anyways.
The next day Grimmjow was grumpy and frustrated at work. The day was only half over, and he had already finished the bento you had delivered for him.
"Jiro!" Grimmjow called out loudly as he walked out of his office. Good thing the shop was still empty, he would have scared the customers right out of the store.
"Ye- yeah?" Jiro answered as he slightly jumped, almost dropping his drink. Why is Grimmjow so angry lately?
"What can I get for my woman?" Grimmjow asked frustrated, the expression on his face evident of that. He was tired of living in a hotel, he was tired of being away, he was tired of that gut feeling that sat at the bottom of his stomach every time he thought of you crying.
"You still haven't apologized?" Jiro asked, his eyebrow cocked in surprise.
"No." Grimmjow growled. He hated asking for help, but he needed it.
"Grrimmjow, it's been a week. Why haven't you apologized yet?" Daichi asked. Grimmjow only growled in response, making Daichi jump.
"Just get her something she's always wanted." Jiro suggested with a shrug. Jiro really didn't know what to get person as an apology gift. He usually said 'sorry' if he made someone cry, and own up to his wrong doings. Grimmjow was different though.
Grimmjow only groaned at the idea. He knew exactly what you have always wanted, but he didn't want it, so he always said 'No'.
"You better be fucking sure about this." Grimmjow threatened, he had a big feeling he was going to regret this.
Once again Grimmjow had left work early. He had bought a new cellphone, and stopped by a shop to get you a gift. Grimmjow was already regretting getting you this gift. It wasn't something you usually get someone as an apology gift...
"Why the fuck did I listen to Jiro?" Grimmjow cursed to himself as he carried the gift back to the Urahara Shop. It was in a box that had multiple holes in it.
Arriving at the shop, Grimmjow expected the worse. He expected every shinigami to stop him when he reached the premises, Zaraki leading them. Or he just expected to not be let back in. But nothing of the sorts happened, and Grimmjow was free to go in and leave his gift on the usual table for it to be found. Then he would leave.
"Leaving again Grimmjow- san?" A familiar voice stopped him.
"Tch, old man." Grimmjow answered rudely. "Thought I wasn't welcomed in this damn place."
"Well as your guardian while your under your house arrest, you technically do live here." Urahara replied with a playful smile, until he pulled out his fan and covered his face. "So welcome home son!" Urahara said with a laugh, playing his character of being Grimmjow's father. Grimmjow only sighed at Urahara's antics.
"So what's in the box?" Urahara asked playfully once more. "Another gift for Kagami?" Urahara teased.
"None of your damn business." Grimmjow growled.
"Oh, don't act that way towards your father." Urahara replied.
""You're not my father!"
"That's not what your birth certificate says."
"That's fake!" Grimmjow growled. "And you know that!"
"Mimi- chan!" A small voice called out to you.
"Yeah?" You called out.
"There's another gift from your secret admirer!"
"Coming!"
"Looks like she's opening her gift now Grimmjow- san." Urahara mentioned with a small chuckle, seizing his teasing... for now.
Grimmjow peeked slightly through the doors to see you run down the stairs, and stare at the box with a confused expression.
"Well..." You said slowly, investigating the box. "This is a first. It's not an open gift." You said as you neared the box, only to see it move slightly.
"Ahh it moved!" You screamed as you and Yachiru backed away from the box.
"What the hell you 2 screamin' about?" A booming voice asked.
"Ken- chan!" Yachiru whined out.
"Onii-chan!" You whined out as well.
"The box is moving!" You and Yachiru whined out at the same time.
Zaraki only sighed at both you and Yachiru's reactions. Even Grimmjow who was peeking through the doors sighed at your reactions. At this moment, he couldn't believe he was trying to win you over, again.
Zaraki, who wasn't even going to bother in questioning what the hell was wrong with you, headed towards the box and opened it. Zaraki raised an eyebrow at the sight of what was in the box. Looking over the box, he noticed the card on the side with your name written on it, but of course, there was no name of who it was from.
"Kagami, it's for you." Zaraki said as he walked away from the box.
"Umm... ok." You answered. Nearing the box carefully.
"What's in the box Mimi- chan? Yachiru asked, standing far away from the box.
"It's a..." You answered slowly before picking up the being inside the box. "It's a kitten."
You stared at the small bundle of fur in your arms for awhile, a small kitten, about the size of your hand. It's fur pure white, and it's eyes a beautiful shade of blue. Around it's neck was a blue collar with a blank tag. You figured it was still nameless... and a boy, perhaps?
Then you checked between... it's a boy.
"What are you going to name it Mimi- chan?" Yachiru asked excited, a huge smile on her face.
"I'm not sure yet." You answered with a smile. "Maybe 'Snow'?" You asked. But staring at the small cat, it's expression almost looked like a scowl.
"Coco?"
"Angel?"
"Simba... ?"
And the cat's scowl became deeper and deeper with each name.
"I know what to call him." You said with a grin.
"What?" Yachiru asked.
"Grimm."
Outside, Grimmjow had fallen flat on his face in disbelief at the name you had just named the cat. Of all the names in the entire world, you had to pick a name that was so close to his own. Whyyyyyyyy!?
"Looks like she named your gift after you Grimmjow- san." Urahara continued to tease.
"Shutup old man." Grimmjow replied annoyed, but Urahara was having to much fun making fun of him.
"So, will you be staying for dinner?" Urahara asked with a smile.
"Yeah sure." Grimmjow answered as he followed Urahara back into the shop.
Dinner was cooked by you and Tessai, well mostly Tessai since you were so distracted by the new kitten.
"Hey Kagami, where'd you get the cat?" Ikkaku asked as he eyed the kitten sitting in your lap.
"It was a gift." You answered with a smile.
"From who?" Yumichika asked as well.
"Secret." You answered with a smile.
"It was your secret admirer again, wasn't it?" Yumichika asked teasingly.
"Maybe." You answered with a big smile. Then again, you knew exactly who gave it to you. But once again, you pretended not to know.
Night time had soon arrived, and mostly everyone was asleep by now. You had stayed up late, playing with your new kitten until it had shut it's own eyes to fall asleep.
"Grimm." You said the name of the kitten laying in your arms as you tried to prepare a small bed for it. "I wonder if he realizes that you remind me of him." You asked the small sleeping cat. But of course, you received no answer in return.
After you had set up the small bed with your sleeping cat, you had looked around the room. Grimmjow was already asleep, probably sleeping early for work as always. You stared at him in his sleeping state, it was peaceful to not hear him yelling, or cussing, or destroying something. That was the Grimmjow you knew.
Slowly, you had crawled your way to Grimmjow. You knelt beside him as he slept on his futon, that peaceful expression still on his face.
"Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez." You said slowly, his name slipping through your mouth so easily.
"I never got to thank you for the gifts." You whispered with a pleasant smile. "The flowers, the chocolate, the teddy bear, and now Grimm. And you said you never wanted to get me a cat. You said it would be annoying." You continued to whisper. But never once Grimmjow stirred from his sleep.
"So thank you." You said once more, before you had slowly leaned in, and gently pressed your lips against Grimmjow's. His lips were soft like you remembered, it made you want to kiss him once more. But you stopped yourself, your face just hovering over his.
"I forgive you..." You said slowly. "I forgive you for everything." You finished as you kissed Grimmjow's sleeping form once more quickly.
"I love you, Grimmjow." You had finally admitted, that smile never leaving your face. "I always have."
Slowly, trying not to make a sound, you went to your own futon, and fell asleep. But not once as you thanked, forgave, and admitted to Grimmjow, not once, did he stir in his sleep.
End.
